Hi,
I've tried the Pocket Mechanic v2.32.175 solution on my Qtek 9090 newly upgraded wiz the BA WM5 AKU3.5 R4 - xplode ROM...
So, clearing files, registry...a tuneup solution for PPC...great
But, but, but, that soft has created many problems : I can't now install/uninstall soft, activesync recognize the PPC but won't synchronize...
My contacts, my calendar, my messaging haven't been saved on the PC...
So, how could I recover a complete OS Version without loosing those informations ?
ps : I've the same problem wiz a Qtek 9100...so I'm sure that the problem comes from Pocket Mechanic
tks
Well, if you cannot uninstall that tool, your last option is to do one hardreset.
It will clean all your main memory, but at least you'll be able to have one working PDA again.
tks SandStorm for your quick answer...
wiz an HR, would I keep my personal informations (contacts, calendar, messaging)...?
Is the HR for a 9090 : (power + reset) + (cam + photo), such as when I have to reinstall a new ROM without downgrading ?
I imagine that those informations are stocked on specific files...couldn't I save those files, reinstall all clean and paste the saved files in the new configuration ?
;-)
hello,
nobody has an idea to solve my problem.

soft reset the phone, and press fast and hold record + camera.
change the first option to 'no and the two last to 'yes'
Everything will be deleted, except the data from your memory card.

I've got an Imate JAM,
which is the samller version of the pda2k with 128mb of memory,
i had some software problems and the local supplier said its a known problem in this software verson. so they took it to upgrade it.
after upgrading, the telephone worked, however,(here is the problem)
i tried to restore my old data: contacts, emails, txt msgs, ...etc.
after restoring the pointer (touch screen) didnt work! i tried every thing that came into my mind ... restarting, soft reset , ... and nothing worked.
the only solotion was to do a hard reset. the device worked perfectly after doing the hard reset but i dont have my data !
i took it back to the agent who simply said: we're sorry you are not the first one... but you cannot restore your old data after upgrading!!! !!
- a friend advised to post the issue into this website (CUZ THEY'RE REALLY GOOD) he said!.. i really wish i could find a solution to my problem.. i need to restor my old data .
thanx.
best regards,
Bisho
I have exactly same problem!
I think the problem lies here:
You can only make FULL backups and that SUCKS, it backups WAY to much.. also a lot of windows dll's and putting those back ****s it all up I think..
We need a soft that can modify the backup.stg to extract the contacts/sms etc seperatly from the backup file and then import it to phone.. or maybe easier to import to outlook and then synchronize your phone..
For everybody who want to upgrade; synchronize your agenda + contacts with outlook.. then you have a good and valid backup!!
If you can import your contacts, then your screen won't react (only if you press REALLY hard) but you can synchronize and then do hard reset, and then after that synchronize again...
In my case I could not even get my contacts back.. it gave an error overwriting files :S

i have a blueangel pda, XDA IIs made from O2, and I have a few questions since I upgraded to Windows Mobile 2005:
--When I installed Windows Mobile 2005, part of the instructions was to format my ext rom and unhide and unlock it to 128kb i believe, and now from what I see, my ext rom is gone in device information, etc. Is this a bad thing? Do we really need our ext rom?
--If I had to hardreset my PDA phone would it go to the normal WM2005 5.0 that is currently installed on it?
--When I soft reset my phone my boot screen is just white green bars and stuff, is there anyway to put it to an image in Windows Mobile 2005? I remember doing it in 2003.
--Also whenever there is an image in my Album if I try to delete it, my phone crashes and I just need to soft reset it, is this just a glitch with the application?
Please try to help me out here, I'm good with computers and familiar with it all so it wont be hard to explain to me.

Hope this helps:
1 After you have partitioned your extended to 128kb you will no longer see it under WM5. This is normal as the combined extended rom and storage you had under WM2003SE is now used as storage under WM5
2 Yes, If you hard reset with WM5 installed it will load it again after the reset (hope thats what you are asking)
3 Currently there is no way yet to change the boot image under WM5
4 Album does the same for me, probably due to the fact its designed for WM2003SE.
i have a couple of things that i have noticed in the last few days, and it aint anything to do with the patches, (i dont think)
1. when i receive a call, it does not actually start ringing and show up on the screen for like 15 seconds, i noticed as someone called me and it rung for a second and went off, i have voicemail kick in after 20 seconds.so i have called myself, and tested, and does not register the call for bout 15 seconds.
2. while listening to music through media player, it is perfect, until the screen turns off, when this turns off, the music stops. when i had 2003se on, it didnt do this, both screen and music stayed on, maybe its just a setting i dont know about,.
3. i am still without storage space for files, while my program space seems like it never moves...... 99mb free. ive probably missed something, but storage space is crappy as hell
any ideas guys??
Anybody have the list or know how to get the installation files for softwares installed after a hard reset / rom installation in Eten M600 ppc?
I have a problem running WM5Storage with rom 215 and 216, but was ok with 213. Based on someone's suggestion, I soft reset the device after hard reset and just before auto installation of softwares (after the screen alignment process). And then install and run WM5Storage and it works!
So, I'd like to track down which software conflicts with WM5Storage, and also Softick Card Export.
Thanks.
A bit confused here, I think what you are looking for is the programs in your `Ext Rom`. Do search (on this forum) to see how to extract / unlock this ext rom for your device.
I tried all I can find, but no luck.
Sorry, just got to know that your ETEN M600 is not from HTC where most of the discussions here are about. You may want to try your luck on other places.
Been running my MDA Compact III for just under a week now. Everything was going fine, tom tom working etc. Yesterday I installed SPB Pocket Plus , now I can't connect via activsync and can't delete any files (from phone or memory card), get the error message....
Error Deleting File
Cannot delete 'filenamehere': Access is denied.
Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and the file is not currently in use.
What have I done? I've tried a soft reset, that didn't work. I've took the memory card out and can delete files when I put it in a card reader. I'm hoping if changed a setting somewhere but I can't for the life of me work out what I've done.
Can anybody offer any suggestions?
I've never had problems after SPB Pocket Plus was installed. Currently I don't have it installed on my device since I use it solely just for navigation thus I cannot find a more concrete solution but to try uninstalling SPB Pocket Plus and see if your problem is solved.
Thanks for your reply, couldn't uninstall anything so had to go down the hard reset route. Wasn't too bad though, I got back up and running in about an hour will all my programmes installed and working again.
Still don't know what happened though.

activesync problems
iam also facing the same problem. is there any alternative solution for this problem other than hard reset.
thanx
It may have nothing to do with Pocket Plus but rather the mysterious problem discussed here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=285511
I had the same message and couldn't delete the erroneous files. My solution was also to hard reset.
My view
Oh i had the same problem, these files become stacked and are due to long paths, use the tool available at pathtoodeep.com ,it is a tool which deletes and also searches such undeleteable files and also assists in installation and sharing of long pathed files

Had a similar problem a while back

The only solution I found was to wipe the Rom and start again! Sucks, but it seemed to be the only option.
Go get a PIM backup utility - Spb Backup - and save all the PIM data then do a full ROM update (even if it's to the same ROM you have now - you need to fully reinstall)
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BlueAngel_WM5_For_Beginners
Still, look on the bright side - it's a chance to clean away all the clutter, and update to the latest ROM ;-)
I would advise getting a piece of cloning software (Spb Clone) and using it reguarly as you are reinstalling! Then, if this happens again, you can just clone back to the last version that worked!
Bird
(I think Spb Software should be paying me, with all the advertising I keep doing for them on these forums )
