I believe the server needs to be running Exchange 2007 for html emails to work. Either that or microsoft live mail via, but you need to signed in to you live messenger account. Maintaining a constant connection can be a bit flaky at the best of times

POP3 accounts also download as HTML - you don't just get it when using Exchange 2007. If you're using push email and the server that's pushing is not running Exchange 2007 - you're screwed as far as getting it in HTML format. If your problem is that mails downloaded via a POP3 server are not being received as HTML, that's something different entirely.....
Mark.
so... the facts are like this... email received through pop3 account are in html format, but the emails form active sync do not show up in html format...

Correct!.....well, emails from ActiveSync will be in HTML if the server pushing them is running Exchange 2007; free push emails services like Mail2Web, 4SmartPhone etc. are all based on Exchange 2003, so won't be HTML.
Has that helped, or just confused things even more
Mark.
You can also get HTML mail via IMAP... a half way ish house between POP & Push Email!
me again (sorry if I'm posting so much today!!)
ok, set up my orbit to sync with outlook. Now what I need to be able to do is send emails via GPRS from my outlook account.
I previously had an account called alistairb which I set up with my server data etc and could send/receive emails via gprs using these settings. But as I've now set up my orbit to sync with outlook I no longer have the alistairb account on my orbit.
but it seems that I can't set any server options in outlook meaning I can only send emails when I'm sync'ing.
is that right?
apologies if I didn't explain that right, but hopefully peopl will know what I mean.
many thanks for any help
i just got an s621 and i added my gmail account to outlook but for some reason i can't see any of my emails..it connects to the server fine and it sends/receives with no problems but i cant see any of my mail it just stays blank!
i can see my hotmail messages just fine...
running wm6 btw
you have to activate pop in gmail. and there is a setting, that you only see mails from now on.
i would also take imap to connect to google because google is not sticking to the pop3 standard.
Hi
I have a BT HTC S620 which I have upgraded to WM6 using the official BT upgrade on their website. The upgrade went smoothly but when I enter the email settings, I am unable to select HTML for message format and it greys out to "Plain Text".
Is there a reason for this or anything I can do view emails in HTML?
Thanks
M73
You can only view e-mails as HTML if you are using Exchange Server 2007 or if you're using a POP3 account. Synced outlook or Exchange Server pre 2007 will not provide HTML e-mail.
Occasionally a message sits in the Outbox even after it gets successfully sent. This only seems to happen with an IMAP connection to Gmail. I have another IMAP account where this does not seem to happen.
The irritation (to the receiver of the email) is that Outlook on the phone will keep sending a copy of this email every time it syncs. I am guessing that this is some combination of Gmail/IMAP configuration issue and Windows Mobile 6.1.
Anyone else seen this?
Running Kavana 6.1 ROM.
I've been searching for an answer since last year (or two) and this still happens in 6.5
The only difference is that I've never seen it sending more than twice.
FYI, I don't sync my emails with desktop outlook, so the repeat happens only when I send the email.
