Yes, it is. As the results of this clever Google search for XDAIIs HTC indicate.

Hello Admins.
Since the Qtek 9090 is delivered by T-Mobile in Germany, i think it would be time for you to adapt the forum and add the new devices.
Maybe also good time to actualise the Softwareversions in the profiles......
 Glad not to be the admin.....

Stefan

oh well vpa's are the HTC phones that used by Vodafone in germany, whereas xda's are the HTC phones sold by O2 Germany!!!
no clue what kgb is?
mikechannon said:
It really stems from the very early days when the only PDAs with phones built in were the O2 XDA devices (made by HTC) and that's when the XDA site started. XDA was O2s way of describing a PDA with an Xtra part i.e. the phone hence XDA.
You are correct that now it would perhaps be more accurate to say HTC developers but actually XDA as a term to describe a PDA with phone built in is quite nice and changing the name now would be very confusing. It does mean though, that we have to remind folk we are exclusively for HTC devices (or 95% at least).

Yes, XDA fits very nicley... plus the website is past the point of no return IMO to make such a change.

LMAO!!! very true...
i always wondered why...but came to the same, and seemingly correct conclusion myself
this name is going to keep alive the "xda" brand long after they'll not even be available.

It does make you wonder who exactly IS behind the stage sometimes when you read some of the direct one on one replies to constantly asked repeat questions.

Who owns xda-developers?

I dunno I just got curious out of nowhere, so who created XDA-DEVELOPERS!?
I believe it was started by some thoughtful geeks in the UK where the the first HTC device came out and was called the XDA or XDA Exec or something like that. I'm most certainly glad that they did so.

Interesting bit about MS in 2007 and not viewing custom ROMs as piracy.

Sweet read.. thank you!
god you all are making me feel ancient OCT. 2005.
you know back then all we had to work with was Windows Mobile *shudder*
yah we didn't even cook roms for symbian.. just windows mobile. it was the clunky way of the future!
back before the "thanks" button and mayspace and youtube... yah we had mobile office. and .5 megapixel camera's
seriously though thing were alot different the devs were less helpful, more self gratification back then. We actually competed since there wasn't really a whole hell of a lot we could do with windows Mobile 3-6
http://www.gsmarena.com/o2_xda_exec-1279.php
first "xda" device i owned ironically it's how i came to this site and i began cooking custom roms for it and the moto mpx series those were good times

Landscape dock for Wildfire G8(Not S)

Hey all,
I wanna buy a docking station for my Wildfire.(the regular one,not the S)
I know I can buy a cheap standing one,with a little USB cable,but I want a landscape one,like this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/190615500956...84.m1436.l2649
I've checked gsmarena.com,and the dimensions of the S are a little bit smaller than the G8.
Will it work for me,or am I doomed to use the standing one?
Thanks in advance.
you already posted this in the Wildfire Accessories here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=700
why double posting?
this is the wrong forum
This is why
"Go to the wildfire s forum, not here...."
Look at my thread there.

Have you read that thread though? There isn't one for the Wildfire so I don't see how the Wildfire S forum would provide any assistance. I think that guy was just trolling.

The user should go to the correct forum, don't double post and stop filling others forums with garbage.

Yeah, lucky man.
At least here were are relatively polite people, with a few exceptions... I won't say more because it would be awkward for some people.

Not sure if you still check this or not... but here's what i've got... I've been looking for a landscape dock but didn't find anything i liked much, so just got a $1.99 business card holder, and an extra charger from ebay... this is how it turned out... it's probably not "perfect" but it's good enough for me
