VOIP 3G issue... cannot seem to figure it out!

ok i have to admit I have not read every single post about the matter but a few hours has got me sick of it...My VOIP through VoipStunt works fine over WiFi; however, it acts very weird over 3G with AT&T: the call will go through (when I dial), the called phone will ring, the 8525 will show "connected"+timer when caled phone picks up, BUT the sound is non-existent both ways... could this be a block by AT&T??? What can I do if anything to resolve this...
Using AT&T ROM modded by vp3G on a clean hard reset with the Black Majik VOIP drivers + Schap's VOIP setup utility...+ Radio 1.51

Did you change the connection type in the VoIPstunt-options to dialup internet connection?

I am assuming no...Can u elaborate?

Run the program, then click the setting tab => Connection and change the connection type from High speed internet to dialup internet connection (use it when you have your phone as a modem). works fine for me.

[Q] No DATA connection or 3G access....

I just woke up "Today" 7:05 am Central time., Houston area...., When I'm about to check my phone, data connection is not available nor the 3G sign or EVO or 1x .... I got full bars. pls. help. the only way i can access the internet is thru WiFi . at this moment..

Make sure Mobile Network is actually turned on and try turning off wifi then checking it again.

You might need an ESN reset. If you can, activate your line on another verizon smartphone, then reactivate the problem phone. This has worked for a lot of users. If you can't verizon support can do it on the phone.

[Q] data lost while on call

when i am on a call i cant not see to get data...the data connection turns off by itself and when the call ends data connection will come back on? is it suppose to be like that or is there something wrong with the phone. right now im on software 1.28.708.10. thanks

Happens to me too I believe my frined.
It only happens with mobile data though.
If you are on Wifi, the wifi should NOT disconnect right?

ya if it is on wifi then it is ok. not data connection though

I believe that the phone switches to 2g during calls, and not sure whether this is a telco setting that they do not allow calls through 3g, or a software feature of the phone with the reasoning that 2g signals are generally stronger in most parts of the world compared to 3g.

Just fyi i had the same issue on my "old" Desire HD.

It might be carrier specific. I have no trouble getting (and keeping) HSPA data when I'm in a call.

which version do u have Barry? I am using the international version on rogers. Are you using the at&t version?

Then I believe it to be carrier specific then since the software governing these kinda things should be standard across the board

A UK international version on AT&T.

Ok that is so strange. I have the Hong kong version on rogers network. It never happened to me before and I have used a lot of HTC and unlocked phones before.

ok so i dont think its the carrier cuz i reset the phone and it works sometimes now. if i make a call and browse right away then it will work but if i leave it for too long then it wont work.

guys its because the phone calls you make are on a 2g bandwidth unless its a video call, that's why if you have 2g connection or EDGE active it will get disabled as soon as you make a call.
to clarify, force your network settings to wcdma and then connect to 3g, after that make a call and your 3g will not be disconnected

i tried this and the 3g was displayed in notification bar.. but when i use this as hotspot, i hardly get connected to internet in my laptop (connected to phone) even the 3g was displayed.. this is really bring me down.. as i need to use hotspot while on travel and had conversation at the same time..
is there any other way to solve this?

Hi Marktang... I saw your post from Google as I lost data connection during phone call with my Galaxy S2.
May I know is it after configure the Network Mode inside the setting to use WCDMA only, then the problem will be solved?

ROM With Working Wifi Calling?

Hey everyone, so looking for a rom that is newer Android 5 or 6 that can still take advantage of Tmobiles Wifi calling.
After the last update my cells been randomly rebooting and incoming callers cant always hear me so im ready for a change.
Tips for those that dont like wifi calling:
Incoming and outgoing calls and texts work flawless on wifi calling.
It does need to connect on the tmobile server (4G) after a reboot or it wont work.
You need to have a better signal connection with your router/modem more than say a faster connection.
It will work the same on Wireless N @72 as AC @433.
Last and my favorite you can put your cell in Airplane mode then turn Wifi on this will save much
battery life as your cell doesnt ping tmobile on the cellular network.

4g Extender issue with custom roms

Has anyone used any custom roms with a 4g cell extender (sls-bu103) It will show my bars are all full but when i call #48, it tells me im not in extender range.. if the extender is off , i get 1x service if any service. so i know im connecting to the extender, in fact the data speed is great, its just voice calls .. i cant make any calls other then the #48 one.. and cannot receive calls
Is there a data fix i need or some trick , i have the cpf3 baseband and currently on PaulPizz latest marshmellow rom .

I think those 4g cell extenders are data only, not actual cell signal, I might be wrong tho.

No they use voice too , my wife has a S5 and when she calls #48, it states that she is under the network extender and then gives some number (serial?) of the extender.

when I call #48 i am not under any network extender and I still have great signal, I am on a rom with a data fix now, when I was on Paul Pizz I did not have to flash a data fix and I would say that I had the least amount of issue's with dropping a call very rarely happened

Please refer to the sticky titled "RULES for posting in Development" before posting in the Development section. TL;DR - unless you are a developer working on something like a recovery, kernel or ROM you should not be posting there.
