This is the spec for it.. but class 2 is supposed to have a 5-10 metre range.
Does the IIS REALLY have this range?

No it doesn't.
I have tried 7 different BT headsets so far & all have static unless under 1 metre.
Maximum range I have is 3-4 metres, but static is present.
Yeah, audio gateway wise that's what I thought.
What about as part of a network.. does the use make a difference?

I have a motorola 100 metre (range) usb dongle, I can't get more than 5 metres reliably.
Hmmmm.... That kinda sucks.
But thanks for the reply.

I do not post a lot but I do read and I love this site. You all have great information.
My question is: Why is the BT such a problem? How come the BT works so well on regular phones but on these divices it is an issue.
I hope this is not a dumb quetion I am just trying to understand.
Thanks.
The general consensus, as I've read here & at HoFo, seems to be that some part of the BA's hardware isn't up to par. ISTR reading that the placement of the BA's antenna is a bit problematic; since both BT & WiFi use the same 2.4 GHz frequency, they could conceivably use the same antenna. Thus a poorly designed 2.4 GHz antenna could explain the BA's substandard WiFi and BT performance.
My BA's WLAN isn't bad at all. I can easily get a fully usable connection to my Netgear WGT 624 accesspoint inside my room on the third floor in a concrete building at a distance of appr. 90 meters.
Also usable inside my car parked on the opposite side of the building!

BT works well at 10 meters with a GPS receiver.
Thanks for the input guys.
Bluetooth to headset range
Has anyone got to the bottom of the issue with the range for the headset. I have had to keep my radio where it is for T-Mobile BB but have updated to the 3900 build.
No matter what the bluetooth build or the radio version it just seems to me that talking on a headset is dreadful if it is more than 4 feet away from the device. If for example you have the device in your pocket I still get a lot of static and scratchy voice quality.
The headset I use is the SE HBH660. Is it the general consensus that we just have the live with this?
All view comments and opinions welcome even if you think I am totally wrong
i can not even get my device to find my BT handsfree.

:O Mine won't even pick up the network in my conservatory 10 meters away. I can get low signal in my bedroom approx 3meters above the router.

I use a Motorola 850 same thing. I hate this. I am in the car the phone is in the seat next to me. WORKING PERFECT. I get out of the car and put it in the belt holster BAM cracking static etc. Now the distance from the headset to the phone is greater in the car than on my belt.
I mean Jesus tapdancing Christ. I do not get it. I have tried the headset on the same side of the body trick and everything. :x
O well the fun of new technologies.
hI..
I have modified the original stereo ear phone and the sounds is much better quality than original ear phone.
Just need to invest a good stereo earphone and at the same time u still can use the original stereo earphone functionality... to pick up calls etc.
Can leave my ipod at home now.

I would love to modify mine. Please explain .

means the seller is lying?
There are 2 types of mini-USB standards I know of. One is the standard motorola one. The other is enhanced mini-USB JUST for HTC devices.
If this guy mentioned a whole list of HTC devices and picture a P3300 with it, I pretty much think that it's the real deal.
If it works for audio, radio shouldn't be a prob

I might work for FM but it looks to me like it would work badly. Since the wire serves as an antenna if the extention extends the antenna length at best you'd only be able to pick up the lowest frequencies.
really? i've never found the length of the antenna caused problems for fm reception, i used to make my own so i could get better pirate radio station reception. I used to get a long piece of electrical wire, attach it to the (broken) aerial on the radio and hang it out of the window - worked every time

That's great! I've had to form a make-shift car radio antenna myself because some lovely person felt the need to break off the one attached. With trial-and-error 2 clothes hangers worked just fine. However antenna lenth is very important in fm reception because fm is a part of the electromagnetic spectrum that arrives in th form of a wave and: wavelength=light speed/frequency. The fm spectrum is 88MHz to 108MHz. As it turns out fm is about 3 meters in length so the optimal antenna to pick that up is 1/4 of the wave or about 75cm.
wow i haven't seen a clothes hangar aerial in ages i'm sure i used to see them all the time!
Anyway, I ordered one of these adapters and will gladly report back the results if the thing ever turns up
Hi well i got my adapter...as i promised above, here's my feedback....
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290072099600
It's exactly as described, I can get FM radio, of course you can just plug in the adapter and no headphones to use the loudspeaker.
It also has a mic and a button to answer calls. The L shaped USB input is a great design compared with those sticky outy ones. Plus the length allows me to use my ex71 headphones without the really long attachment. Overall very happy Ordered last Wednesday, got it today.
Now to transfer music to that damn internal microsd
Edit: Evaluator was right, the FM reception has suffered. Though I can still get FM reception in strong areas, it's nowhere near as good as with the supplied headset. Oh well...It's still great for using as an mp3 player.
I have also purchased this little adapter and it works a treat with my Sony earphones. Radio signal is excellent and sound is phenominal compared to the standard headset.
Phone works properly with the call pickup button and the microphone allows your caller to hear you clearly.
A worthwhile purchase for £9.99 inc postage.
So, me and the GF have little time to watch our shows at home, I have become addicted to watching my shows on the Tilt2. I was thinking while we sit at a bar or wait around somewhere we could connect our BT headsets up to the phone and watch our shows over BT.
Sounds simple but apparently the technology does not exist. So, my second thought is that the OEM cradle that did NOT come with my phone has a 2.5 and a 3.5 headphone jack, anyone know if you can have 2 headphones plugged in and workign on this or is my best bet a mini-usb to 3.5 to y adapter? She could easily store those items in her purse (its damn big enough).
Any ideas?

No. You may only connect one bluetooth audio device at a time.
I have the Shield TV and an 802.11 AC router (NetGear Nighthawk X4 R7500v2). I would much prefer to connect directly via Ethernet, but unfortunately, it's not an option due to the room configuration. I believe the Shield TV is connecting only to 802.11n. I have tried both the 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands. Any advice? Thanks much in advance.

Not a problem, sorry it was so short, but I was heading to bed. I don't understand why this section is so quiet on XDA.
Powerline is pretty awesome, and all of the different manufacturers seem to use the same standard so you can mix and match units. We've used it for years for gaming when my son visits at the back of the house, and for printers and other accessories. If you have a single family home, it is particularly good. I hard wire almost everything in my house, makes the wifi more stable too.

What you need is this:

It will let you access your ethernet ports thru the powerlines. I use these everywhere in my home.

This is the one I was considering... You think the TP-Link is a better option (for reasons other than the speed, of course)?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MTNKNPZ/ref=psdc_1194444_t2_B0173CGWFY
I got the 8030, it's good and fast even my house wiring is quit bad. Previous I own a tplink av500set that also very good.
You will get about 300-500mbps, on pair with mid range 11n router
P.s. smallnetbuilder have some review of power line, take a look and find the most suitable for you

Well it may be fine, I just like names I know. However this would answer your wifi problem.
One last question. Is there an extension code I can use that will not have a negative impact on the signal or performance at all?
It should be noted that powerline adapters are only as good as the wiring in your home, and that the signal integrity suffers massive degradation if there is a high power draw thru the same lines the adapter is using. They can work wonders but they are not the be-all end-all for-sure solution. JFYI.
Well, I ordered some. Guess we'll see how it goes. Not a new house. So, who knows....

This is amazing. Thanks, I'm ordering them. Now I just a need OnePlus to make a charger with a USB c port for the wired headset so I can talk and charge lol
To be able to charge at the same time, you will need active headphones instead of passive which means an extra soundcard that will pull energy from the battery. As passive headphones when detected changes the USB + and - to connect the headphones to the internal soundcard/DSP-board and if you also insert 5v at the same time would probably fry the DSP-chip. [emoji38]
I'm using a USB active splitter and an old 3.5mm headphone so I can charge at the same time, it works but I do get worse sound quality and also lower sound levels this way. Best solution is a good bluetooth 5 headset, then you both get good sound and can charge the phone.

I tried a USB active splitter with a regular pair of 3.5mm headphones. Audio quality was okay, not impressive at all, but using them for phone calls......horrible. I could hear the person I'm talking to, but they would claim they couldn't hear me or I sounded far away. I'm not big on Bluetooth headsets. Especially now considering most of them come with 2 earbuds. I prefer a single earbud. Maybe I'll have to look on Amazon again and see if theirs anything new.
USB-C pixel buds are great. Had them for around 8 months now and no issues.
If you are looking for a set that have the ear tips then probably best going with the USB-C bullets. Great sound but I don't use them anymore because I prefer a set that don't go deep into my ear
