o2 GPRS data "block size"? - P3300, MDA Compact III General

Hi,
I'm trying to set up the SPB GPRS monitor on my Orbit and have a question about the "block size" settings within the program. Is the "block size" what o2 will round up to, or a is it a limit that you define that will not allow anymore data download once this limit has been met (I think this is a silly question)!!
Does anyone know how o2 "round up" data usage? For example if I use 7KB of data will it be rounded to 10KB or 100KB!!
I'm on a £5/5MB deal.
Cheers.

Roaming notification for Data - Black 2.5

I'm using Black 2.5 on my XDA Trion. Every time I connect to the data server to get my emails, surf the web etc. I get the Roaming Warning regarding different rates etc. Could this be disabled?
yes..goto messaging - go into your e-mail setup and advanced settings, then check "Use automatic send/recieve schedule when roaming"
Thanks but I do not want that. I want to manualy decide but not to get the warning message. I do not remember it from other Roms.
I have the same issue. I found this:
Settings > Sounds & Notifications > Connection established > uncheck "Display message on screen
Haven't tried, perhaps it works?
Try this
[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
"ShowRoamWarning" = dword:00000000
The regedit posted above works and it's actually listed in the wiki forum!! it drove me crazy too!!

My O2 Orbit Keeps connecting to GPRS

Hi All,
I'm having recent problems with my O2 XDA Orbit. It keeps connecting to O2 Active GPRS but this only happens when I send or recieve text messages. The only way I can stop this is by stopping the Text messaging in Settings>>Memory>>Running Programs. This is only a recent occurance and I don't know if an application I installed or removed could have caused this. Quick GPRS and Windows update are on manual download.
I cannot figure out why the sms will trigger automatic connection to GPRS.
I would appreciate if anyone knows how to stop this permanently.
Regards,
Aston
Just check that SMS is set to be sent over GSM and not GPRS - go to Start > Settings > Connections > SMS Service.
GSM is the default, perhaps you have accidentally changed it.

Search on this site for a little application called "nogprs". It comes as a cab file. Once installed you can select options to kill (or enable) your GPRS capability. Works just fine on my Orbit. If you have a problem finding it email me at "bryan at pcdr dot co dot uk".

Some quik questions on 6.1

First, how do you get internet settings back? I know everytime u flash a rom, you have to set up the connections again but how do I do it?
Second, how do you turn off the autotext when writing a text, its very annoying and you used to be able to turn it off by holding alt and space in 6.0 but 6.1 is different.
Third, anyone notice the threaded text in the english 6.1 now is a little off, the new text shows up in the middle of the whole conversation.
Fourth, How do you get the sms sent notification to turn off? seems smart tweaker app doesnt do it anymore.
Threads for proxy settings are all over this site If you're t-mobile try this
http://w340cg.bay.livefilestore.com/y1pZgUv2_cPWUjz0nb4uDTdCFPF740cLyv2Flw8ljCUbjIkEsq 6vSnc1737bKPYIylTJTU5Qpts4ggx4BM4AbyQhCquK8wK-hcb/02_11_2008%2009_44%20PM.swf?download
link does work and I am T MOBILE
Ok so ive answered two of my 4 questions
to setup internet again follow these:
Delete the Chinese settings under Settings -> Connections -> GPRS, then add new
1. T-Mobile Data, Connects to: The Internet, Access point: wap.voicestream.com
2. T-Mobile MMS, Connects to: WAP Network, Access point: wap.voicestream.com
Delete the Chinese settings under Settings -> Connections -> Proxy
And I also found out to get rid of annoying sms sent notification by just going to text messaging OPTIONS>ACCOUNT SETTINGS>UNCHECK "REQUEST DELIVERY NOTIFICATIONS"
Still would like to turn off the annoying auto text during text messaging and finding fix for the threaded text message english rom
are you uk?
yes i am ok

25 sms limit?

Hi, ummm. There seems to be a limit of 25 text messages. At least on Manila. Is there anyway to remove this limit? I would like to keep all my SMS (on my last phone I normally had over over 2000 sms but had to erase some periodically due to memory limitations, though not OS limitations).
Also (I don't know if this is in any way related), but I always have an empty message at the beginning of the Manila sms interface (doesn't show up in the "all messages" area). Anybody know how to get rid of it?
The limit of 25 messages is only present in the Manila interface. All your messages are actually still there. You can see them all if you go into the default WinMo Messaging app.
Regarding the empty message you see, have you tried to delete it from Manila? (right soft key and then delete)
That was the first thing I tried.
Strange thing, erased an sms from my carrier and it disappeared. But then it reappeared later. Wonder if it-s some weird thing to do with my carrier. One slight advantage is that it provides some privacy protection against slight snoopers.
