Hey ---
can anyone help me with the static I have on my calls? here are my specs on the 8525 I have...
ROM: PRO Black 2.5
ROM Date: 4/17/07
Radio: 1.41.00.10
Is it static, or does it sound more like slight distortion?
If distortion, I've had this problem on EVERY HTC phone I've had (4 and counting). I just got my Dash (s620) so it hasn't happened on that one YET, but I expect it to happen any day now.
I've had the carrier (TMO and Cingular) replace the phones I've purchased from them. My TyTN, well, I haven't been so lucky. At least it isn't so bad on my TyTN. My SDA was the worst!
I have noticed this problems too...from the latest versions of WM6 (Black 2.5, dutty`s version, CUSTEL version and latest build of LVSW)...haven`t noticed this before so I think maybe the cause is the radio ROM...will try to downgrade to see if there will be a difference...
Regards,
Primoz
Its def static and yes right after I did the whole WM 6 upgrades --- anyone know how to downgrade to the newest Cingy ROM?
If you were able to upgrade...you should be able to downgrade...just look in the wiki or try the MrVanx upgrade/downgrade guide...
regards,
Primoz
p.s. Let us know if the downgrade will help to solve the issue!

Hi guys,
i've looked everywhere (here and other forums) for a solution to this issue and i've found nothing on it!
I'm Running a standard spec (out of the box) unlocked XDA2s on O2 PAYG, no updates made to anything.
Basically, if i powered on the device from scratch or after soft reset, and send a message i receive the "message sent" bubble which dissapears shortly after.
No problems there.
But, if the dialer opens for any reason -making a call or after receiving a call etc..- and send a message anytime after that, the dialer fires up everytime i get the "message sent" bubble.
if i then soft reset again, the problem stops.... what is causing this?
i can't find any info on this if its a known bug/issue.
i would like to update all the roms etc, but i don't want to loose any functionality of what i have and i've read mixed opinions of post-update stability.
If an update is all there is left to try, which rom(s) should i use?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated as its doin my head in!
This is one of my only 2 issues with the unit, the other is BT related so i'll post in seperate topic.
Many thanks in advance.
which rom are you on???
ive never heard of this, but maybe you should think about upgrading, as the newer roms do fix a lot of known bugs, and maybe this is just one of the many that are minor and known to everyone..
post your rom specs.....
joey.

as i stated, its a standard out-of-the box XDA2s:
ROM VERSION 1.31.00 WWE
ROM DATE 12/13/04
RADIO 1.06.00
PROTOCOL 1337.38
ExtROM VERSION 1.31.139 WWE
FYI I'm running SPV M2000 on orange with 'out of the box' settings and I get none of this. I know its not much help but its better than that tumbleweed moment when no one else has the issue!
hmmmm...
I want to upgrade it, i've read all the tat on the wiki pages but want some verification of which rom etc i should go for.
I need it to be stable, i can't deal with worse BT/WiFi/Cam than i have already as apart from these 2 issues i have, all is well!
I hard-reset yesterday and removed the O2 rubbish - no difference made though and i kinda miss the battery stats.
If upgrade is the best path to take, someone please list the upgrades i should make. with so many opinions in these forums i could do with a little guidance from others experiences.
Cheers.
Dickie
i didt have many issues apart from the fact it was an o2 rom, i think imate 1.40 would be ok for you, anything with WWE and 1.40 or higher really.
i hear the new o2 aisa 1.40is good, but i havent tried it yet, so cant comment, imate 1.40 is stable for me up to date, no crashes in 2-3 months.
joey jojo,
sorry bruv, just to verify; your using exactly the same phone as me with the imate rom? and is there any other stable upgrades you'd suggest?
Also, i read on another forum that there is a carrier-non-specific 1.40 rom released from O2 available here with WMP10 on it. correct? is this the asia rom? anyone had any dealing with this?
Cheers

Does anyone know if there is a solution to this problem? I flashed my 8525 with the vp3G 3.0 but now when I'm using the phone, the mapping of the qwerty pad seems to change to the numbers and symbols, and you cannot type letters. Does anyone know a fix?
oh shiitt!
noticed same thing. gets annoying coz i have to type with onscreenkeyboard or phonepad if im on the phone and textingg at the same time
I know that it is not a problem with just my phone because I have a friend who flashed his phone with the same vp3G rom and he experienced the same problem.
does any of the other WM6 "officiial" updates experience this same problem?
This has already been brought up in vp3Gs 3.0 Rom thread!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=317952
Just click that ^ link and do a search on that thread only for information on this problem.
I loaded the vpg 3.0 at&t official and did a soft reset before the extended rom loaded. When I did this the numbers and symbols were maped wrong. I then HR and reloaded vpg3.0 and let the extended rom load. Problem solved for my 8525.
Oh yeah later I saw the HTcustom program under Programs/Accessories/HTcustom, and there is a tab for keyboard where you can select Cingular. I didn't need it since the extrom loaded, but you might want to try and see if that helps.
go into registry edit. hkey_local_machine\software\oem\qwerty
edit layout value to either hex:40409 or dec:263177
Nope, no PROBLEMOS with the original one. Neither with the Schap's version.........
Good luck!
p.s. there is a WIKI.......
The straight scoop
OK people, time to get the facts straight on this.
The issue the OP refers to is NOT the same as the issue whereby special symbols are incorrect on the Cingular/AT&T 8525 without the proper OEM\Qwerty setting.
The issue the OP refers to is this: While in a call, the numeric hardware keys are locked as such and are unusable as letters in applications such as SMS.
With mviana's help (and a crapload of flashing various ROMs on his part), we have determined the issue is NOT limited to my ROM. It appears to have cropped up with the latest "official" builds, starting with the Dopod 3.54 release and includes the AT&T 3.57 release (upon which vp3G 3.0 is based, of course).
That said, it has very clearly not affected everyone as on several occasions I have observed posts from two people running the same ROM -- one says he has the problem and the other says he doesn't. Even within this post Bensat noted he has no problem with the HTC or schaps, however posts can be found to the contrary.
I'm still gathering info on this, however I'm beginning to believe it may be germane to certain Hermes models -- specifically the Cingular/AT&T 8525 (aka Hermes 100). We may note that Bensat has a TyTN (aka Hermes 200).
One thing's for certain: It's not an evident nor "easy" fix.
EDIT: Found a TyTN that has the problem with the "official" AT&T (and mine).
Why bother to open a new thread for the issue taht suppost to post in VP3G's thread? Read my avatar <---------
Okay, quick question. Has at&t actually released an official wm6 upgrade for the 8525?
nope. and when they do "officially", not like "officially" as in "officially on this board" but as in "officially, and warranty supported by ATT", you will find it HERE: http://www.america.htc.com/support/8525/software-downloads.html
Wonder what's taking them so long to release it :\ (Sorry to trail off OP's topic)
Wass up guys and gals,
I've been happily using Imate Jasjar/cingular 8125 for the longest time but i just got the softbank version of HTC tytn. I must say that it feels very good using the tytn because of its size (specially if you are moving over from jasjar)
Anyways i upgraded my tytn to Schaps WM6 WWE version 3.54C but i am confused about the fact that my wizard still runs alot faster and stable then the tytn. i even get better signal on my wizard where as my tytn only gets 2 or 3 bars. I am also not able to play some vids in tcpmp even after trying this http://www.4winmobile.com/forums/htc-hermes/10022-updated-hermes-tcpmp-v0-81-unofficial-hybrid-media-player-all-codecs-here.html
Guys tytn is suppose to be an upgrade from wizard but it seems to me that wizard is a more stable device???
Let me know what you guys think about this and also are there any other ROMS better then the 1 i am currently running?? if so then pls do let me know u guys.
Thanks alot in advance
I'll be waiting for all your replies....
Farhan
Anyone??
Anyone ??
come on u guys, i would like to hear yr side of the story
Cheers
do you own a wizard with UMTS\HSDPA ?
I'm jocking , in many things you are right....
Well, I have not had the same experience. It is possible that some added apps you are running are causing conflicts. I would make sure you have the latest versin of whatever ROM you are using.
I have great stability with Black Satin and I hear that many are very good - Schaps (as you are using), VP3G, Sleuth (sorry if I missed any).
Try your rom with few other apps for a while and see if stability and responsiveness improve. Also, you probably do not want to judge reception based on bars, but rather by performance. Bars are just drawn on there - not really a strong indicator of reception quality.
Good luck.
Thanks alot for your replies u guys,
The only 3rd party software iam running is TCPMP and thats it nothing else.
I guess at this point my only and biggest issue is that iam not able to play some vids on tcpmp that played just fine on my jasjar
for example i have a 19 mb mpeg-4 clip that played just fine my on JJ but on my tytn it will play for about 5-10 secs and the gets stuck for 1-2 secs and so on...
I'll be a very happy man if there is a fix for this
Cheers
Anyone
Have you tried the ATIFix from Sleuth, take a look at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=297717
And try to get a copy of CorePlayer 1.1, better performance than TMPCP...

I ran several different builds on my Wizard and am now running Schap's on my Hermes (have also run v3gp). In my experience the Hermes definitely runs faster.
Hi Everyone,
Just found a radio update for T-Mobile Compact 3 on the website of T-Mobile Netherlands.
It's newer than the B&B 4.
https://www.t-mobile.nl/zakelijk/htdocs/page/service/hardware_updates/mda_compact_III_radio.aspx
Maybe Tom can use it.
I believe the one in B&B4 is 02.95.90 so the one you are talking about 02.92.90 is older and not newer
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=320802
normally, you don't need to update radio, if you have no problems. however, sometimes it concerns serious bugs working with some mobile operators (gprs could be one of example)
if you have no problems with current radio, you can keep it like it is.

Your right. Very stupid.
Is was almost 17:00. Time to leave work.
Tom's rom has 2.95.90 so is newer sorry for mine post
If this radioversion cures the problems (lost connection/not reachable etc.) many Dutch users have on the t-mobile network it is worth trying this radioversion.
[offtopic]
I'm using Tom's B&B v4.0 and have no problems at all. I have Touch Flo on the right softwarebutton so I can TomTom or iGo with the hardwarebutton.
[/offtopic]
Sorry for the removal. Please read reason for editing.
good work, I'll test soon
Thanks
Well done! everything working as it should, no need to tweak gprs and previous splash is a nice plus! Thanks again.
Very Good ROM! Thanks
I just installed the ROM on an O2 XDA. So far it works thanks!
I used the trick to soft restart at the countdown to prevent all the guff being installed.
The main reason for this upgrade was the device using the latest official O2 ROM from I think 2006 the bluetooth does not work properly with my jag hands-free. But with this ROM it seems to work so thanks very much. At last I can use my phone in the car.
The exact version I flashed was using the CID bypassed version, copied in the 3 files from the official Tmobile then replaced one of them with the vanilla install. This I gathered was the thing to do after much forum reading.
I have a few of questions:
How do I select any of the cabs that I skipped installing and install them? Where are they? How do I know what they are and if they are any use?
My old ROM based on AKU2(.2?) had a program called task manager which I used to see what was running and end it (usually the media player). Has this been replaced in this version and if so what by and if not where can I get it?
Re:

Phone skin debrand T-mobile?
@Z£Y$
Let me know how you get on with this mate. Particularly have a look at the MMS settings with the 3UK rom. It went a bit weird with me on the rom install.

It says in the 1st post.....
It's basically the latest (September 2007) AKU3.3 T-Mobile rom but with all the horrid looking branding ripped out and the god awful dialer pad reskinned with O2's much nicer one.
Is that a bit clearer for you?
Psi
Congrats on the new ROM PSIdoc!
Old story back again with this rom: green light flashing but device off line, no incoming or outgoing calls untill soft reset and randomly same problem faced again.
it'a so good that i actually want someone to come up with bug report.i dont know about the green light flashing.i dont have them?
@tailazoom
What radio version are you using mate? I know that 1.18 has some known crashing problems with WM5. The original rom was bundled with 1.17. Perhaps downgrading to 1.15 may sort it out as I know that os rock solid. I am using said bundled 1.17 and have so far only had 1 problem with a GPRS failure to connect. I couldn't pinpoint it 100% to the radio, so I am waiting for it to happen again.
Just my own thoughts.

Thanks PsiDOC for answering. I'm using radio 1.17 and with the official t-mobile wwe aku3.3 i have no problems except:
1) iexplorer unable to connect unless i use a program to tweak gprs settings
2) unable to force manually GSM band
what can i do with this file?how can i install it on my qtek 9000?
This looks as though it could be just what I need, rather than going to WM6What was taken out from this vanilla version compared to the full flavoured one.
Will you be doing a full flavoured version with your tweaks to get rid of the awfull branding stuff. Regards John
JohnWB,
The vanilla version is as the rom came from the OEM, in this case T-Mobile, with nothing added into it. The only things changed in the rom is all the T-Mobile branding is removed and the Dialler Skin replaced, purely beus it was painful on the eyes!
A fully loaded version means that extra apps have been added to the rom that saves you the trouble and the storage space. This can be pretty much anything with tweaking of the rom.
I am currently testing this rom with a few apps added in the rom, including:
Opera 8 web Browser,
Ps Shut XP. (WM Reboot Tool)
Registry Editor
Contacts Backup
SMS Message Backup
Notepad
Mobile Office 2007 (Word, Exel, Powerpoint & One Note) - Still Buggy Though
And a few others
Am also thinking about reskinning the entire rom with a "The Matrix" style theme as the default. Maybe I have said too much here....
Sadly am working 10 hours a day, 7 days a week at the mo as we have a big job on where I work, so not much time to progress it at the mo but I am doing a bit where I can.
Psi
Thanks for the info Psi, just what I needed to know, John
