Hi, I've tried doing a search but can't seem to find what I'm after. I'm looking for the T-mobile UK ROM just incase I need to send the hand set back if things go faulty. Is there one?
Thanks.
I'm not one for slating someone, as I think we should all be able to help others if we are able to. I hate those people who seem to spend their time slating people with posts just to get their total up, nothing helpful or interesting to say.
If you've got nothing to say, don't say anything.
But you should have done a search this was in a thread started yesterday.
Anyway, enough of my gruumpy old man syndrome, here's a link to an original post with the rom you're looking for:-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=406327
If you'd have read my question, I did do a search!
Where in the thread link does it state ' here is the official UK T-Mobile ROM' ?
T-Mobile MDA Compact IV (Diamond/Victor) stock ROM
Here is a link to my post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2506321
It contains the above supplied link, all the relevant strings to match a basic search - and ironically a premonition of exactly the nature of this entire thread!
All the best with your new device and Happy T-Mobiling.
Adam

Hello,
I've been a registered user for a while now, but haven't tried to post until today. When I try to post a message containing a URL, I receive the following error:
"To prevent spam to the forums, new users are not permitted to post outside links in their messages. All new user accounts will be verified by moderators before this restriction is removed"

Can one of the moderators please verify my account?
Thanks!

As far as I know, you will need a # of post (more than 5 I think) before you are allow to insert a link in any thread. I'm not a mod, but I read about this somewhere in this site : If I'm wrong, maybe a mod can correct me with this one
Have a look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=636765 and here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=626993.
Yep, need something like 5 to 10 posts for links.
Hmm, ok, thanks. I just wanted to post a URL to my new project and gather some feedback, but I guess I'll have to lurk around longer and find some other stuff to comment on.
In the same boat as you.
But i guess its better than page on page with spam from bots
Yes, after a few posts the system and Moderators can see whether you are a genuine member or not.
In the meantime you can use links like this:
wwwdotxda-developers.com
You can always go back later and put in working links.

Had a look at your thread, posted comments, and the site; all seems in order.
As a courtesy, I have changed the links for you ... with an understanding that you will do your best to keep the thread active and help out members who post it in as best you can.
Cheers,
I cant write on nexus forum
I just wrote a "best contract deals" post for the HTC Desire, and discovered I can't post links yet ARG! So I have it saved in notepad until I've made a few more small comments like this to get enough posts to post links
Damn, I've got to wait 5 mins between posts too

As stated earlier, this process has been setup to combat spammers. I believe once you have more than 8-10 posts, this restriction is removed

What are the chances these rules can be adjusted so they aren't ridiculously frustrating? I can't post or edit my own posts without waiting 5 minutes, I can't post images or even quote images posted by other users. I've been viewing these boards everyday since I joined (about a week ago) and it's making the transition to participating VERY obnoxious

Sorry about the issues, we all had to go through it at one point. Since XDA is such a large and popular site we have been a big target for spam, so to make sure the boards arent full of ads and spam we have to make the rules a little strict. its only for 10 or so posts.

I believe you will now be out of the "initial" group, as you have 5 posts. Within the next 1 or 2 posts, it should be finished
I know that this is an old thread but I really want to post thanks to certain individuals or post in discussion forums but due to this restriction it means I'm having to spend a lot longer on the XDA site just to post what I wanted to. For instance even this post took me an extra 4 minutes...
Re: Forum Suggestion /"State of the Site"
i tried posting in where i felt was the appropreate thread linked to in the "state of the site" but it has already been closed
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10673299
anyway i completely agree with many of the administrative decisions discussed there. i just have some suggestions to help those work, coming from my experience as a new member my first few days. (few weeks ago)
first of all how did i come here? google searches for questions i had about my captivate. after finding info on XDA few times through google, i realized this is a place i may want to check out more, but it took some looking around just to understand the BASIC POINT of what XDA was all about. Something that would really help people understand "THIS IS THE PLACE!" could use a short, straight to the point "sub-title" at the top of your webpage beside your xdadevelopers logo. something that reads like:
"the home for smartphone development, troubleshooting and ideas.."
the second small issue i want to bring up is new users not being able to post in development forums. WAIT!! I AGREE WITH THIS. BUT, when i was new here i was seeing not able to post in a dev forum talking about something i needed info on, and i was seeing other minor members in other threads getting "chewed out" for posting in a "developers" forum.
HERE WAS MY CONFUSION: www.xda-DEVELOPERS.com it appears to a noob straight off the google express that the whole site is developers...
i started looking for www.xda.com forums.xda.com ect....
it took a bit of searching around the site before i realized the "Developers" section that i couldnt post in was the SUB-forum of the Captivate sub-forum.
it was just a bit confusing until i saw the layout of the site for all the different phones and the sub catagories each had.
i hope these suggestions can bring forth some ideas that can help the integration of new members.
Thanks for your opinion
Yah, I really like your idea. We're going to consider it.
what ever happened to these suggestions?
dude i flet the same when i first got here! great recommendation!

Hi there,
I'm a noob and this is my first post so please don't rip in to me for this or for the fact that I am resurrecting an old post
I thought that it would be better to quote a post that reflected my feelings and possibly (hopefully) answer my questions.
I have an HTC Inspire that I imported into Australia from gsmnation.com as I liked the feature set of the phone and it was compatible with my carrier over here unlike the Desire HD that is available locally but not compatible with my carrier.
I have lurked around these forums as an unregistered user since having my phone and used the great advice shown to root it and put Android Revolution 4G 4.0 by mike1986 on it.
Have been very happy with it but now I want more.
In particular I would like to put Gingerbread onto it with Sense 3.5.
I had been following a thread about RCMix3d Runny v4.0.
I took the plunge and registered at XDA but now I can't even view the thread without getting the vBulletin message saying that members without a post count of 10 or less cannot post in developers threads.
Fair enough I say but surely we can at least view the threads.
I can view various other threads but i cant even find the one mentioned above.
Can someone tell me if the thread has been deleted (all 1264 pages according to Google cache search - I was up to page 127!).
Have tried searching using XDA's custom Google search feature but can't find the thread anywhere.
Any advice about whether the thread still exists or if I am doing something wrong that is not even letting me view the thread.

That thread was removed at the op's request which is why you aren't able to view it.
Sent from my HD2. Still kicking the arse out of all your phones...
Ah Ok.
Thanks for the quick response...Very impressive.
Is there an alternative for this ROM or another sticky for that one around the place or has it been obliterated from XDA?
I have downloaded the ROM to my PC but if there is no longer any support for it on these boards then my quest for a nice GB ROM will have to continue.
I wonder how receptive capychimp is to noobs? I am in awe of the guy
Hi,
Noob here!
I read your "[New Members][Guide/Tour] Get the most out of XDA!!" and I thought it was great.
Being a noob, I couldnt press the thank you button, so I just thought I'd say thank you for taking the time and the effort to write the guide.
Thanks again!

Way to go bumping a 2yr old thread with your first post man..
I was looking for more information on the Kin2 and the possibility of running anything else on it and stumbled across these links. I am not sure if they will help anyone but thought it is worth a shot. Unfortunately, I do not have any experience working with software development.
I am not allowed to post links to the sites yet but will email them to you if you are interested.
You should have just read the forum instead reading in other places.
It's the 4th time that the "ifixit" (and inside "chipworks") links are noticed and/or posted.... *yells inside*
Furthermore, you should have said "with hardware development" as that what they could be useful.

Sorry. I am a newbie when it comes to forum etiquette. I will keep that in mind for the next time.
Hello everyone here.
I just wanted to post a thank you message for having a site that makes sence, to someone who has enough knowledge to be dangerous but not enough to be good.
I have several android devices but had never 'played' around with them, so I bought a SGY5360 to mess around on.
I had always seen and heard about the things that can be done on android phones, but not had the bottle to try them out on the expensive ones I had.
So last night I got the SGY5360 and followed the instructions I found here, but I bricked the phone. Well it spent over an hour on the Samsung Logo after I tried an 'apply patch' from the home+volume up+power screen. I think I did something wrong, but I was not worried.
I then found the 'unbrick' thread, installed Odin and downloaded the files needed and followed the instructions, he presto the phone was back from the dead.
Whilst browsing around noticed someones signature ( sorry forgotten who ) which took me here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1663029 and I decided to install it.
Worked perfectly as described in the thread.
Looking around I am quite impressed with the way the forum is run.
And on the funny side, the noob video needs updating, 2nearly 4 million users" I am sure I have seen 4.5 million users quoted somewhere.
Welcome to XDA.
Any introductions should be made in The "Say Hi" Thread.
Also, please read the XDA New User Guide.
Hopefully you'll enjoy your time here

^^^ what he said, and in addition to that, you can always PM me or other users of s5360. There are many stickies in our forum. Read through them and you'll learn a lot.
Code:
System.out.println("Sent from my SGY");
This was not a 'say hi' thread ( well I thought not ) this was a 'praise' thread, and I thought I had put it in the right place.

True, but I posted that because it was your first post and there's already too many threads like this one, which only get created to give the OP a few extra posts towards 10.
