Text message storage on O2 XDA Orbit - P3300, MDA Compact III General

Hi all,
This is my first post so go easy on me!
I've just got an XDA Orbit and it's great - only discovered one issue, though, every time I perform a soft reset, all of my text message are erased!
Is there any way to get the XDA to store the text messages on the SIM rather than on the phone?
Thanks,
ChalkyD

You could try Sms backup(freeware) which will back up your Sms to the storage card,I personally like using the application Sms Importer.Try it.

Thanks - appreciate the advice!

sms messages differs if sent in a nokia fon

just would like to ask if anyone has experienced receiving SMS messages received via XDA IIs is of different format from that of how it is received in nokia fons?
What happens is that a multi-lined SMS in a nokia screen, when received thru the XDA will appear as if the SMS was written in a single sentence without spaces in between the words.
could anybody direct me on how to fix this? or is there any software I need to install for this to be fixed?
cheers!

How do I clear a stuck txt msg on XDA Orbit?

Hi,
In the XDA Orbit I have Text Messages showing (1) in the Inbox which I understand to mean Unread.
However there are no messages.
I have ensured that everything has been deleted from Inbox, Outbox, Drafts, Sent Items and Deleted Items.
The (1) still remains.
Anyone any ideas e.g. registry change?
I would prefer NOT to hard reset.
Thanks
Hi everyone.
If anyone has an answer I'd be grateful, but I've just done a hard reset using ARTEMIS TOUCH 3.01 WWE - FULL WITH CUBE and I'm lovin' it!.. ....well 99% of it!

Problem replying sms.

Hi,
I have a Norwegian HTC Desire unbranded phone, but i currently live in Qatar and i use it with my sim card in Qatar...
From time to time I write some text messages to Norway to friends and such,
but there is one of my friends I can't reply sms to...
I use "ChompSMS" as a messages client, and his phone nr is saved on my phone memory, with the country prefix and all...
When I compose a new message to him, he gets the text message, but when i reply to the message, the country prefix does not get in cluded in the text, so I get a failure when trying to send it...
When i press "view message failure", the nr its trying to send it to is "90508395" insted of "+4790508395", this is the only contact i have this problem with, all my other norwegians friend i can reply to without a problem..
Anyone have a soloution?
Thanks...
Anyone have a soloution for me?
Would be deeply apriciated....
I had the EXACT same problem and people thought I was crazy.
The only solutions I found were to either to change to Handcent, dont know why, but it fixed it.
OR
Reflash to a new rom. That completely fixed the problem and I was able to go back to chompsms.
Thanks ALOT!
I will try Handcent now, and hopefully it will all go away
Thanks again
It could be also a setting on your friends phone, something like reply to and he has that set up with his nr. but not in intl format. Worth checking...

I got nowhere using chompsms, and no help from posting on the forum. Some googling revealed handcent, which I now use every day. It just works, without requiring googling or forums etc. Like you'd expect an SMS app to be, really.

[BUG?] Batch SMS sending after reboot...anyone?

I know, this is my third open topic on a different issue...:-\
Ever since I got my phone, everytime it reboots it sends a batch of previously sent messages to a few contacts. The messages that are being sent did indeed go through when initially sent, however the cases that the phone selects a few recent contacts and sends a batch of sms messages again. T mobile is no help, I know xda is
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA App
I'm having the exact same problems. I've noticed some messages say "sending" even though they've already been sent and received by the other person. Once I reboot, those messages get resent.
I've searched but haven't found anything
I fixed it by uninstalling SMS Popup. If you have that installed I recommend removing it.
i use Go SMS, and i can send the a whole load of friends at the same time without any crash

Help please. Cannot send or receive text messages

Hi guys,
First post, so, firstly, hello! I've been using this website for a while, you guys make some awesome themes and home screens!
As of last night, I cannot send, or receive, any text messages (SMS). I never send MMSs so I don't know if that works either. I've tried restarting the device, removing + inserting the SIM card, turning mobile signal off and on again, and nothing seems to work!
I'm on the HTC S620
It's essential for work that I can stay in touch by text message, and unfortunately, I can't find anywhere else that can help me.
Thanks
Do you have sufficient money on your account?
Check if your SIM works with an other mobile phone for this.
I too am having issues sending and receiving text.Mine came about after a factory reset. Which give me the message "text message cannot be sent".
