Video call problems (dialing and audio) in WM6 - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

Hello!
I am having two problems with video calling under WM6. I guess they also appear in WM5 but since I'm running WM6 now... Here they are:
1. Is there any way of making a video call "by default"? More exactly what I want to do is always call someone on video. Is there anyway I can put a "v" in front of the number or somehting similar? I have 150 free video minutes each month...
2. Audio calling works ok. Video calling works ok ONLY when using a bluetooth headset or the original HTC headset. Otherwise, when using the PDA's own microphone it works like it's "voice activated". The person I am talking to always misses the first letters of sentences. I presume that it's somehting related to a voice activation problem because when using the headset the other person hears all surrounding noises that are in my environment. When using the PDA microphone they hear a perfect silence until I start talking.
Is there any solution to these problems? Thanks!
Daniel

ok, i have the same problem as you, inno.. the problem with audio in the video call.. if i don't use the handsfree, the other person i'm talking to can't hear all the words from me.. initially, i thought it is a problem related to the microphone agc, but it's not from there..
i'm using a wm6 rom, cooked by lvsw

let me add my concerns on this too.. in video call the prob is i cant hear the other person 95% on the time.. even on speakers.. i have motorolla v6 aswell and never had a problem with that (the point being made is that its not the network ..its the phone rather.. wm5 didnt have this problem so its wm6 related)
secondly HAS ANYONE FOUND A SOLUTION (working one) FOR THE LOW IN CALL VOLUME ????
btw.. im using black 2.0

Any news?
Any news about this problem? Only three guys encountered it?

i'm withn everyone here, but i'll add to the problem by saying that it's not just with video calls but also with just putting your phone on loud speaker to use it as hands free... is there anyone out there with a solution?

Recording calls

With reference to this topic of applications:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=323942
can anyone tell me if their Dash/S620 records calls without speaker phone activated (with any of the programs and versions)?
thanx.
I just tested. It records phone calls fine (ie. also non-speakerphone ones).
The only thing is, when you PLAY BACK the file it will only play through speaker.
do you have WM6 or WM5?

Can you also check it with a BT headset - that is, is the other party recorded then too?
OK guys I did all the tests.
I spoke a little too soon....
The problem is, only MY VOICE is recorded. The other party is not. (A little bit can be heard sometimes ; whatever gets from the earpiece to the microphone.)
Tried with BT headset. Same thing. My voice is recorded loud and clear (from the headset's mic) but nothing from the other end!
Playback is ALWAYS through the speakerphone , also with BT HS connected.
I'm disappointed because I was so happy earlier on, automatic call recording was one of my dream features but this solution is not there yet

That's bad news - thanks for testing.
It seems you must stick to, say, the Oxygen if you need flawless call recording but still want to have a WM5 Smartphone in your pocket.
I Think Tornado gives the same opportunity, perhaps it's the WM6 thing..anyway, it seems VITO guys are working on it..nice feature it would be though..

low mic volume on asus p525

has anyone encountered this? video recording and voice recording (notes) work perfectly but whenever i make a call or someone calls me, the other party cannot hear me clearly complaining my voice sounds so distant. though i can hear them simultaneously, i have to shout all over to carry on a conversation.
played around its volume controls, activated speaker phone and tried using my headset (not bluetooth) but still the problem persists.
haven't tried upgrading radio and other rom versions though.
any help would be greatly appreciated. btw i'm using wm6 ultra lite v4 by alex. thanks.
i had the same problem..
with another WM device , motorola mpx220 , in call mic did'nt functioned well , people reported that i didn't speak loud enough. but after call ended i recorded something and was cristal clear. than i changed my radio vers and the problem dissaparead .
so as you found out , it's the radio OS . it cannot manage mic well .

Microphone problem on the Blue Angel?

Hi there,
I got a short question here. First my Data from the Bootscreen of my BlueAngel QTek/MDAIII of T-Mobile here in Germany.
R 1.15.00
G 1337.45
D 5.60.00 WWE (Helmis WM6)
The problem is whenever I talk to someone I can hear hin clearly and perfect. But I have to scream in the microphone of the Blue Angel like I'm some weird guy. This problem was also there as I got that thing with WM2003SE on it.
Is there an option in WM6 to get the microphone (except for that agc option) correctly to work or is this a "feature"
Yeah, I have the same question. My microphone doesn´t work properly and I look pretty stupid when I have to shout all the time I´m calling someone. Is there any possibility to solve this problem through registry??
I gave my father my xda2s some years ago and he doesn't use it as a phone because of the mic problem. He's tried re-drilling the hole by the mic (next to the reset button), having removed the case first but it's still not loud enough for the caller to hear him.
It doesn't seem to be a bug as whatever the circumstances the mic pickup is low.
It works fine when using the headset/mic so it must be to do with the mic module itself.
If anyone has had similar problems or has a fix, please post it asap.
thanks

mic randomly stops working

hi there
im a new user to the rhodium phone
been using it for a few days now and ive noticed that when im on a call after a few mins into the call, the other person cannot hear me
has anyone else had this problem?
cheers
Mic comes and goes
Yes i had this problem with my Tytn2 and the TouchPro2.
Not sure why?
Is there a software tweak or cab we can use to fix this?
I noticed on the nexus one it only happens when noise cancelling is on. When I have a conversation or use voice actions. If I record a video though it works perfectly

Microphone problem when I use speaker phone - S9

Hello,
The microphone doens't work on my S9 when I use the speaker phone. The people do not hear me. I have no problem in normal call mode.
I tested to call in "safe mode" but the problem always appears.
Thank you for your help!
No idea?
Same problem here (replace xx by tt) : hxxps://us.community.samsung.com/t5/forums/v3_1/forumtopicpage/board-id/GalaxyS/thread-id/51619/page/12
Thank you!

m also having the same problem, but also While video recording
Same problem here. Only when HD calling is enabled. If you disable HD calling, the problem should go away. I'm hoping the first software update fixes it. Just to be clear the problem is that the other person cannot hear you when on speakerphone. You should be able to hear them clearly and have no idea there is a problem unless they tell you that you sound muffled or like you are underwater. Turn off HD calling on Verizon and it goes away.
Thank you for your solution. I disabled the HD calling ("4G calling" in French) and the voice can be heard now. But the quality is very very bad! It is scandalous for a phone of this price!
Is there an other solution to improve the microphone quality during a call with speakerphone?
Thank you!
HD Calling?
I have the same issue, but have no idea how to disable HD Calling ( I'm on Sprint BTW). These minor issues are ticking me off; I've already had for factory reset once due to Camera settings crashing the app.. . now this nonsense. Phone isn't even 14 days out of the box, and its DEFINITELY not an "third party-app" issue. Bad time to switch from iPhone, huh? This is unacceptable for a $300 phone, nonetheless a $1K phone.
Hello, I have the same issue, on VoIP apps like WhatsApp as well. https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...rphone-loudness-clarity-t3746298#post78757253
Does anyone experience the same problem on custom ROM?

Same problem here, first on Note7, now on Note9. Disabling HD calling did not fix it for me.
any solution for it ? please post solution
I've discovered the issue is that the phone attempts to mute your microphone while the speaker is playing sounds. (If you're on the phone with someone they have background noise or are talking) and your phone's microphone attempts to lower the sensitivity so that the person whom you are speaking with doesn't hear an echo of themselves on their end. If they aren't making a sound then you can be heard normally. This is the downfall of my S9+ because the speaker and microphone are right beside each other.
