4/ BLUETOOTH EXPLORER 1.1.26907.1
Bluetooth Explorer lets you exchange files using Bluetooth with other Bluetooth-enabled devices.
This is the help about this new tool:
Overview of Bluetooth Explorer
Bluetooth Explorer lets you exchange files using Bluetooth with other Bluetooth-enabled devices.
Note: Bluetooth Explorer works the same way as File Explorer.
To enable Bluetooth Explorer
1. Tap Start > Settings > Connections tab > Bluetooth > FTP tab > Enable Bluetooth Explorer.
2. Tap OK.
To set the Bluetooth shared folder
The Bluetooth shared folder is the folder that other devices will see when they connect to your device using Bluetooth Explorer. Your device must have Bluetooth turned on and set to Visible mode for other devices to see the Bluetooth shared folder.
1. Tap Start > Settings > Connections tab > Bluetooth > FTP tab > Enable File Sharing.
2. Tap Browse to set a folder to share.
3. In Add/Delete Folders, select a folder to share then tap OK. Tap New to create a new folder to share.
4. Tap OK.
Note: \My Documents\Bluetooth Share is the default Bluetooth Explorer shared folder.
Use of Bluetooth Explorer
To launch Bluetooth Explorer
Tap Start > Programs > Bluetooth Explorer. Bluetooth Explorer then scans for visible Bluetooth devices you can connect to. From the list, select the Bluetooth device you want to connect to.
Note: You may need to enter a Passcode in order for you to connect to the device.
To use Bluetooth Explorer
If there are shared files in the Bluetooth shared folder on the other device, you will be able to see those files on the Bluetooth Explorer screen. You can then do the following:
- Copy or delete files.
- Create a new folder.
- Paste a file into the folder.

Tested Bluetooth Explorer. Works with Rom 2.11 (WM5 AKU 3.3.1) and my Apple MacBook Pro. I was able to browse the shared directories, send a file, and receive a file.
Note that enabling file sharing automatically makes your device "discoverable" (visible to others). So if you don't want to be discoverable all the time, be sure to uncheck the correct box in the "mode" tab of the bluetooth settings.

5/ ADOBE READER LE 2.00.272329
Yes, the Trinity users got Adobe Reader LE while we got the ClearVue ****... Now it's our turn!
IMPORTANT NOTE: Remember to install it in the Device, not in the Storage Card. It takes about 2Mb of storage.
6/ GIF ANIMATION 1.10.1020.611
A GIF player to open GIF files. The open command of the File Explorer for GIF files is assigned to this program.
Looking for more stuff from the Trinity...
Work well and hope to see these programs on next cooked RoM.
Thanks installed and Comm Manager works great, nice to have these functions and in the one place.
Rom:Black 2.0
Radio:1.38.30.00
SPL:Olipro 1.40
Working great in Live 0.2.1.
Thanks!

You can put anything you want in the HTC pluging using a Registry Editor and looking to the key "[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\HTCHomeplug]" but you need to know:
- The executable file for the new function.
- The resource file from where take the icon to show (if there is not icon, the redirection runs but you can't see any image in the plugin).
I've only extracted the files from Trinity (and fixed a little problem with the Power executable name). The rest is up to you and chefs.
Thanks! Been waiting for this!!

Nice to have it in a cab so I don't have to keep hacking the registery myself Question - when I added IP Pone to mine, the button itself actually doesn't seem to work. It also adds a setting for IP phone under the settings listing which doesn't seem to do anything either. Does you cab effect fix either of these or am I missing files/reg entries?

The CAB is only the Trinity Comm Manager and the registry keys that are associated to it. Maybe, "IP Phone" doesn't run and that's the reason that it's deactivated by default. But, we can show the button while wait for a FIX...

Could someone please indicate how to remove the tray icons from Black 2.0.
It is not so transparent here..

Hello Dutty,
I'm glad to see that you've included it in your ROM. Only two things:
- I've included a IP Phone (VoIP) Button to the Comm Manager (it doesn't runs very well but we can show it until a FIX appears).
- Have you fixed the click & events sounds? Look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=300904
Thanks for your great work!. I'm currently using your koch for testing purposes and I found some fails, but none very important. If you want I can PM you with them.

well forget about koch v1, koch v2 is a total rewrite
VOIP is enabled by default in this build (today plugin is present and settings in phone)
click sounds are present by default in this build ( i assume you mean the button clicks and touchscreen clicks)
as i said earlier, this *is* premium. most other roms share the same base, this one is different.. everything is in from the ground up..

Yeah - I was just hoping I was missing something I think there are a couple buttons missing. Clearly when you click the settings -> IP Phone, it is trying to load a Settings Control Panel which seems to be missing (Maybe take you to the IP Phone setting in the Phone Control Panel?)
Hopefully one of those smart Chef's are using IP Phone and can figure out how to get it to work

There's a bunch of them you can use for free I'm using Poivy right now The only annoying thing is you have to download their Windows XP/Vista client and install it to setup an account. After that's done, do what I do and uninstall the software
Free to setup an account and use them (and if you used anything that cost money (calling Cellphones or countries that arent free), they seem to have about the best rates - damned I sound like an advertisement).

If you need help setting up the setup cab I'd be happy to help (though I think you'll get it no problem)

1) It now installs the cabs before the settings, this is important if the installers overwrite settings with defaults.
2) Added a checkbox to allow for silent cab installs (much less annoying if you are autoinstalling 15 cabs, like me)
3) Fixed some file handling code, it wasn't creating sub folders if they were missing on the way to restore a file.
4) Updated the General Settings to have more options in it.
5) Added "Live Search" settings to the "Windows Live" so that it remembers the locations you've searched for. Still beta because I've had a few issues getting mail sync working.
6) Wrote a Picsel Config.xml, beta because I haven't tested it enough yet, and wasn't sure if people have it.
Sorry, still no installer cab. I've gotta stop working on the app long enough to work that out.
Rob
6/2 10:32PM MST updated to 0.97
1) Added some smarts to sync up the start menu. It's more than just copying files into a folder, the program has to move the start menu items around to 'match' the backuped version.
Essentially, it looks at the backup version of the files. Then for each file it finds in the backup, it attempts to find the same file on in the /windows/start menu/ folder tree and will move them files (if found) into the location they are in the backup. This may not yield an exact duplicate if all of the shortcuts aren't found.
As a config file, it should run after the rest of the packages have been installed, so there is a good chance if you stage things right it will work properly. It's possible I could 'restore' missing link files from the backup directory in a future version if it proves to be worth while. I'm not sure if it will though, why would we want shortcuts to stuff which probably isn't installed.
2) I changed the 'Storage Folder' detection to exclude Bluetooth and ExtendedRom's. Also changed the functions philosophy to 'trust' the install location as a memory card. This means it looks to where the app is installed, try to 'find' a storage card with the same name. Hopefully, this should prevent continued false positives.
6/2 7:31 AM MST updated to 0.96
Fixed the storage card location code to not improperly detect the Bluetooth folder as a storage card.
Added debug code around the GetFiles call in the MoveDirectory function to try to see why it's crashing for some people.
6/1 10:51 PM MST updated to 0.95
Added some debug code to help with odd crashes
Changed the reg file encoder method to unicode
added Auto and Prompted cab installs
better caching of settings checks during interrupted (reboots) restores
probably added a few bugs for good measure
5/24 8:45 PM MST updated to 0.94
Used a function to figure out the "Storage Card" folder name for foreign languages.
5/24 12:43 MST updated to 0.93
Sorted the Packages upon import so we could control the package loading order
Added a spinning ball in places so the app looks busy
Added Provisioning XML support into the Config.xml (Big step)
Other minor fixes.
5/21 10:45 PM MST - Updated to 0.92
Fixed Recursive Folder Move Code - it was accidentally flattening the directory structure. Bad recursive function, Bad!
Fixed a crash which would occur if you were trying to backup a non-existent directory.
Fixed up an older config for Microsoft Reader - I hate losing my spot in a book each time I flash.
Settings Savior v0.97 Zip File Copy the contents of this to
\Storage Card\Program Files\SettingsSavior or it won't work.
thanks for such a quick fix
what is the Silently install cabs for?
Does the silent merely hide the process window? Or are you actually able to force the installed to SD and keep it hidden? If so, care to share your method?
Also, I have a couple of cabs that require me to enter some information before the install completes (like iLauncher needs you to select language). I noticed that having it autoload through a cooked ExtROM does not work - do you know if it will work using your cab installer. If you are not sure, I'll let you know next time I flash or HR.
Thanks!
btw: still getting the error message posted above in this version.
I'm getting an error when backup, screen shot attached.
did not get this with v0.9

You should create a paypal donate button. I have been looking for something like this for a while.

Same here ... some soft like SPB phone suite requires a SR right after installation ... SPB pocket plus complains to be installed on SD and requires a confirmation ... Does the silent CAB installation takes care of that ?

Know which of checkbox's is the one which crashes it?
If you uncheck "My Documents" does it stop crashing? I think that one should be made (Beta) since it has difficulty backing up 'Templates'.
I'll delete my full install and try again. I can also put some 'Try' code around that to trap the error, thanks for the screenshots. What are you taking them with?

Without it checked you will get prompted to install all your packages. Annoying if you have 15 packages to install like I do.
With it, they install over and over in the background. It automatically accepts the default install location (Internal memory I think).

I don't have that app. Batti prompts me to alter it's settings and that still works. Citrix prompts me to accept a license agreement, that still works.
The Cingular Dialup settings prompts me to reboots, that's surpressed.
Let me know how it works for you, I liked it. It is a bit strobe-a-delic.

I'm afraid you'll have to try it out. Batti popups up a window during install and it works ok with the streamlined silent install option.
You don't have to flash the device to test this feature if you want. Uninstall the package. Then everything except the 'Install Cabs' and pick restore.
You can backup and restore settings without having to blow away your device first.
Sorry it's crashing, if you could tell me which checkbox causes the crash that would be helpful. Try unchecking My Documents; it's the one with the most problems for me, because there is so much potential for unknown crap in there.
Thanks,
Rob

I'm working on hard to make sure we aren't developing competing programs. Since my app doesn't set any features (just restores them) I think we are in the clear.
Since I found the answer on the internet, I doubt it's really all that secret. I'm using the /nodelete /silent switches.
Hope that helps, I like your app and would love to make sure we write Provisioning XML code which is compatibile. Send me a private message if you want to work together.
Thanks,

Hi Rob,
I did not check "My documents" since it restore all files to "My Documents" folder instead of it's subfolders (in v0.9). However, I did a little troubleshooting by backup with only one box checked at a time, it seems "Windows Live (beta)" is the one causing trouble, all others okay.
btw, the screenshots are taken by "True Connect" (PC application)
Thanks for the app, it saved me 2 hours of work after flashing CUSTEL 2.5 last night.
Hey Man looking good so far only one thing will cause an error for my and thats "General Windows Mobile Settings" i CAN post the error log it throws if you like...
something null point error =)
Since it is install cabs into Memory. A suggestion- why not create 2 separated directories for cabs - 1 into memory and 1 into storage card ( Not sure how hard it is to implement this tho... ). Cheers

You are absolutely correct about mydocs! Nice catch I hadn't noticed.
Thanks, I fixed it.
I also think I fixed the issue with Windows Live. If I'm not mistaken it was trying to copy the contents of a folder which didn't exist on your device. Have you ever run "Live Search"?

That sucks, a ton of settings are saved in that config. Most of the good stuff....
You could try out the 0.92 I just posted, there were definately issues with trying to backup non-existant directories. However, I don't think the General Windows Mobile has any directories though. Please post the error if you don't mind.
I'll look over the registry code, I don't think it would crash trying to backup keys if they don't exist, but who knows. That's what testing it for.

Tips And Tricks!!!
Some simple tricks you can do to improve your device (Very simple but effective) And Some Hints:
1. Improve performance/response time:
- Start > Settings > Phone => Keypad = Off
- Start > Settings > Sounds & Notifications; Under Sound Tab => Disable/Untick Events (warings, system events)
2. Your Windows Mobile device is just like your Windows PC. So, soft reset it before going to sleep (or whenever appropriate) once a day to make it runs good at all time.
3. Make sure you install the today plugin apps such as Resco Today Plugin etc. on the internal/device memory. Some today plugin can be installed on the storage card but it'll slow down your system performance a bit.
4. Do not install too many apps on the internal/device memory. Leave as much free space as you can on it. Check whether it can be install on the storage card or not. Normally, don't let it become as low as 8MB free but 10MB is enough already.
5. Know what you're doing such as tampering your system registry. Make sure it can be done and you're doing it the right way. If not, then leave it as is.

It's not a tab, it a dropdown box. When you open the phone settings, immediately you'll see the keypad dropdown box in the middle of the screen.
For your feedback No 1, It should install and launch ok. Try it again and soft reset after the installation. Remember to install it on the device memory.
Hi Cyphol,
Up and running ver. GM360.02a with no problems. Very smooth and no hangs.
The file explorer that I mentioned from Jasjamming's ROM's is gsfinder+
(Thanks for finding it out MistaRip!)
Now I see you already have this in your ROM. Can you just make this the default file explorer and forget the standard WM6 version. gsfinder+ is a superb program.
The Asia version Network wizard is great expect I also miss the China Mobile settings. I have to manual import them when I go across the border.
Thanks for your great work!!

Hi Cyphol,
Up and running ver.

Thanks. Good to hear you like GSFinder+ but I cannot delete the MS Explorer since it's a base core applications for some of the programs in the phone itself such as Bluetooth ftp etc. So GSFinder+ is considered as a bonus application.

Questions?
1. Is sdkcerts.cab integrated into the ROM?.
2. phcanoverbmp.dll is installed in the Dialers directory. It should go to windows.
3. Cyphol, your phcanoverbmp.dll is too big of a size. 470KB versus mine of only 150KB. The bmp inside the dll is 32bit bmp images. You dont need 32bit images, because the actual Kaiser images only contain 8 bits(256 colors). Therefore you cannot distinguish the diff if you convert all the bmp to 8 bits.
4.The first 3 bmp are wrong. It should contain the Video In, VideoOut, and Video Miss bmp.
I am done with the dialers. Make sure you use the latest update. The latest update use Kaiser Smartdialer which not only looks nicer but also provide more functionality over the traditional.
May I know what else did you change from the original?
Here's the fixed GifPlayer app.

SDK Cert is cooked in.
I'm using the phcanbmp* from Bennec83 for multi colored batttery icon.
I've already packaged your latest creation in the add-ons. Since many want the original dialer so i cooked in the original interface but package the Kaiser style for others including me.
Thanks for your great creation, Sir. I have many of your modified apps.

PCM Keyboard Skins (download from achieved thread)
Using the Auto Installation Feature
Step 1: Preparing the cabs
---------------------------
- To use the auto installation features, the cabs must be set to "Read Only", must not have any "setup dll", and must have a "hard coded installation path" which means you should not be allowed an option to choose where to install the cabs.
- To set the cabs to a static path, install WinCECab Manager.
- Open a cab with WinCE Cab Manager and click on "CAB Information".
- Double click on "Default Install Dir" then select "Installation Directory" tab and choose "Do not allow user to select installation directory"
- Save the cab then right click on the can and select "Read Only" and click apply/OK.
- Check if there "Setup dll" is present under Cab Information. If setup dll is present, delete it off.
- Check and prepare all the cabs you want to auto install and place them into the Cabs Folder.
Step 2: Editing the Config.txt file
-----------------------------------
- You will now need to add the file names into the config.txt file.
- Open up Config.txt in "Cabs" folder with Notepad.
- You should see the following content:
Code:
LOCK:Enabled
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\Call_Firewall.cab
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\TCPMP.cab
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\FlashVideoBundle.CAB
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\Threaded_SMS.cab
LOCK: Disabled
RST: Reset
- Ignore the Fist line "LOCK" and the last two lines "LOCK", "RST"
- From here on, it should be pretty straight forward. For every cab you want to install, you will need the line:
Code:
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\*CAB FILE NAME*
- Simply Add the name of the cabs you prepared earlier into this file and click "save".
- Right click on the config.txt file and select Read Only.
Step 3: HARD RESET!
---------------------
- Finally, HARD RESET the phone by holding down the two soft keys simultaneously, and push the reset button with the stylus
- Auto installation will begin after the Rom completes its configuration
THAT's ALL!! Not too hard is it?

FAQ
Q: Hardware keyboard symbols are incorrectly mapped....
A: Default Layout is AT&T 8525's layout. You can change the layout with PHM Registry. Select the Keyboard layout shortcut and change the settings to:
Q: I cannot map HOTVOICE to button 5
A: This is a known issue with the current keyboard driver, you can map hotvoice to any other buttons but button 5.
Q: My GPRS/MMS is not working
A: Install Connection Setup cab. Go into settings -> connection tab -> connection setup, and setup your operator.
Q: After playing with Advanced Config/SK tools with this rom, the beam button in Comm Manager disappeared!
A: Add the missing button back from Advanced config. Button 10 = "Beam" or don't use those tools.
Q: I can't save pocket outlook attachments to storage card.
A: Make sure Extended Rom is hidden.
Q: How do I close apps? clicking on "X" only minimizes the apps (LITE ONLY)
A: Press and hold "X" until app closes in Full version. For Lite version, install a task manager. (Recommendation: HTC Task Manager + Task switch combo (included in Full) | WkTask)
Q: How do I get WM5torage to work? I activated the app but nothing happens
A: After activating WM5torage, click on menu -> troubleshooting -> disable both options.
Q: The Rom doesn't look anything like the picture.
A: Chances are you downloaded the Lite Version. Full version is shown in the picture.
Q: After installing HTC Action Screen in the LITE rom, the soft keys still show Contacts/Calendar
A: Change the following registry settings with PHM Registry:
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112]
@="Actions"
"Open"="\Windows\HTCActionScreen.exe"
(113 = Right soft key, 112= Left soft key)
Q: How do I disable Random Access? (Those letters on the right of Contacts)
A: Change the following registry settings with PHM Registry:
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\113]
"Open"="\Windows\Contacts"
or Simply uninstall it if you are using the full version. Make sure "end" contacts in memory management before uninstalling.
Q: I am using a different theme in this rom, how can I change Random Access bar color?
A: Copy RS_Bar.png & RS_Ind.png from Windows dir, change the color, and toss them back into Windows
Q: How can I enable startup animation and sound? (NOT Recommended)
A: It is not recommended to enable startup animation and sound as it cripples the phone volume.
Add the following registry keys
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\StartupAnimation]
"Volumn"=dword:20
"WAVFile"="\SOURCE DIRECTORY\Startup_sounds.wav"
"GIFFile"="\SOURCE DIRECTORY\HTC.gif"
"Enabled"=dword:1
Source directory = Wherever your files are i.e. Windows, Extended_ROM, an etc
Q: After changing to other themes and going back to K's theme, the theme is no longer black but gray
A: Download the file (BlackGlossyBars.cab) from the archived thread and install it. You will need to do this every time after you changed to other theme. Alternatively, you can change the basehue registry value to 160 using PHM Registry.
Q: How to View/Store Pictures in Storage Card
A: By default, HTC album searches pictures in My Pictures and DCIM folder.
Code:
- Create "My Documents" folder in storage card
- Create "My Pictures" and "My Videos" folders in My Documents
- In the camera, select storage card for default storage location
Pictures taken will be saved in storage card.
Q: How do I get HTC Album to show all pictures
A: Rename My Pictures Folder to something else and HTC Album will show all pictures.
Q: Will you cook in the HTC Album with folder selection option?
A: No. It prompts you to select the folder every time which is a nuisance, and it is buggy.
Q: The rom drains battery quickly!
A: Let the battery fully drain out, then do a full recharge.

Is the path 'Storage Card\Cabs\' hardcoded? How does the OS find the config.txt file?
Nice job K. Seems to be hanging in the install of TCPMP, I hard reset and tried again, same thing. I will install the cab manually after a reset.
Edit: Looks like the path is not hard coded hence the hang. Easy fix. Great fast ROM.

My install looked like it hung on TCPMP too, but after much patience, it did finish.
However, I think I mucked up the auto CAB install by not putting the config.txt file in the right spot. Must figure out...
Other thoughts -- I had to download the Connection Setup cab from the 1.30a thread as it's not part of this package? Once I ran that, data connection is config'd correctly (for AT&T/US).
Well Done & Thanks
Kin0kin,
Well done. Just about to install. Hope you took my advice and went out for a beer!
I really do like your work. I thought Schaps was cutting edge but you certainly create some very effective roms. My donation will be with you shortly.
Great job and thanks. Now for god's sake go out; its new year!
WB
BTW, is there any other tool for preparing cabs for auto install other than WinCE cab manager?
Some cabs take longer than the others to install, they will look like they are frozen but they will move after awhile (i.e. htc home). Also, the included TCPMP has a much nicer icon hope you guys like it. I should also change WMP's icon one day.
I'm not sure what else can you use to change the folder path, but if you have trouble changing some of the cabs, you can upload the files here and I'd have them changed. Also, do note that cabs that prompts an option after installation i.e. illumsoft screen capture will not auto install.
Yeah I'm taking a break now
EDIT: keitht, can you post up the fixed tcpmp? my copy works fine, maybe I used another copy from another folder (my pc is like a jungle here!)
Yeah, the TCPMP.CAB is hanging near end of install. As stated, it needs to be unmarked as Read only, tweaked with the WinCE Cab Manager and modified to not allow user to select installation directory, save, then mark as read only again and move to the storage card\cabs to replace original.
EDIT: Kin0kin: I waited about 3 minutes and it was still hung. After making the change above, it flew through the install without the hang. I recommend making this change and repackage the download.
EDIT 2: Attached is the modified CAB

you should have something like zImage-modules-DATE_VER.tar
--go to eclair_fs/ and delete the modules-2.6.27-00330-f485082e.tar (name differ with version) and the "zImage" files.
--untar (with winrar or whatever) in your eclair_fs/ the two files.
--rename the zImage.00000000 (figures as the build date) in "zImage" (without quotes).
-- leave the modules-2.6.27-00710-g485083e.tar you have just extracted with the same name.
c)===================
go to eclair_fs/startup-configs and make sure you have a DIAM100.txt (or whatever DIAMx00 you have, retrieve DIAMx00.txt).
*if YES then delete eclair_fs/startup.txt and copy+rename the eclair_fs/startup-configs/DIAM100.txt to eclair_fs/startup.txt.
*if NO then google another package (the one from connect-utb should have one).

optional: make your changes in startup.txt
e)===================
delete the data.img file if you have one (when you make changes in your zImage or system.sqsh you have to delete data.img).

Some bugs are yet to be resolved so to make sure you won't have to reboot again, make sure under Windows Mobile you have:
-disabled the PinCode
-Enabled the GPRS Connection (it works for me without this step but sometime not)
-disabled the airplane mode (if you activated the GPRS you should't be in this mode ^^
-disable whatever special state you put your phone in.
i)===================
run /InternalStorage/Haret.exe
Format your internal storage once in fat32, you don't need to format it every time you change between build.

I remembered someone asking about getting their outlook contacts onto their device, and noticed that in Contacts there is the option to import/export, so all you need to do is export contacts from Outlook and save the file to your root folder then open contacts in Android and import the csv file.
I came across the ability to program what function the end key can perform the options were along the lines -
1. close program
2. home page
3. close program and home page
4. do nothing
however, I cant seem to find the option and I am not sure if it was an application I was using or a setting function??? Anyone came across this?
Update The setting is in the Spare Parts App

But with the same procedure work also on Diamon?
(Sorry if it's a stupid question)
Thx
yes, it works...you just have to change the startup file acording to your device.
There is already a startup file for the diamond. This works very well
Dont expect it to be a complete replacement for windows just yet. GPS and Camera do not work but thats minor.
Is it possible to have Swedish keyboard?
Comments from testing?
Android not booting
Android does not boot on my device. It says "failed to find system.img on sdcard".Though a system.sqsh file is present in internal storage.I renamed it to system.img then too it fails with same error message.
interesting, anyone tested?
how about it's performance? smoother than windows 6.5?
mod please delete for double post...
Comments:
Best try for yourself. I found it to be a little annoying to use (much like most Linux machines i've used before). It sometimes seems a little laggy, and I couldnt work out how to turn my phone off since the power button just brings up a menu. Also my phone kept locking and I had to fiddle to get it unlocked again.
I'm not exactly sure how it runs on the phone. If it runs on top of my current rom then my experiences could be down to lack of RAM. When I did a soft reset my Windows ROM booted up and I've been using that until I can get a chance to play again.
Also, I am on O2 UK. I must need to get my 3G settings from somewhere because I couldnt get on the internet under linux.
I will definately be playing some more and will see about using it as a propper phone OS, once I get my contacts on my sim, and I get WWW working. It's very good IMO
It works god but it needs more work. there are problems to get GPRS to work
One good thing is that after a reboot it boots on WM, so you could try android and have your Windows back after a reboot =)
Can't get SMS to work, tried ATcommander.
dieselboy : To turn off the phone, just hold the End button.
so i got it on my diamond and it works rly fine!
is there any way to include htc sense in the android?
It doesn't boot with me.
I use a custom WM6.1 ROM (AZTOR WWE).
I copied all files and updates to the internal storage.
When I start HaRET from the explorer it shows a progressbar saying:
HaRET: Booting Linux ...
on the bottom of my screen is a second titlebar (from Windows) that shows me a Windows Start button, the text 'HaRET Version...' , a keyboard and all the icons I have in my titlebar (reception, volume, 3G icon...)
The progressbar doesn't get past (about) 95% and then everything freezes.
Anyone any idea? Do I need to stop TouchFlo or something?
GPRS and WIFI are unable to work.
Hang on a moment.
So this is now working in the sense that I can make a call and the microphone and ear piece now work?
I tried Android a few months ago and the only benefit I could see was that it ran and loaded but none of the phone hadrware was usable or a ***** to get gprs working.

Cool!
Ok A list of what keys do what would be handy.

So far I've figured out that the End Key is the power button; it puts it to sleep (which takes a while to wake up from).
The power button is Home or whatever it's called on Android; it takes you to the desktop.
Home key is menu button and is used to unlock, you can wake the phone up with either power button or menu button but then menu to unlock, sometimes you have to press it a couple of times.
Call button still seems to be call; it brings up the call log from the desktop.
I'm liking what I've seen so far; it's very intuitive. I haven't got 3G internet working though :-(.
API Demos
The simple bitmap ones work but Opengl ones just make the phone crash.
I can't wait to see this on a phone with the Tegra chip on.
Don't understand why When I set the sound to Vibrate. Bejewed still plays sound. It's Cool though
I accidentally started the Voice dialler which also crashed but it's cool. GPRS Data is working
WPA2 Wifi cool!
Gyro Sensors working

So, the full tuto goes something like this:
1. Remove (uninstall) Network Profile application and remove any APN you set up in settings -> cellular.
2. InterOP-unlock your device (Heathcliff)
3. Install DiagProvXML app
3. Using Isolated Storage Explorer deploy enclosed provxml files
4. Install the xml files in this order: hotspot, hotspot1, mxip_hotspotconfig_01, EnableAutoDataConfig
4b. Check in settings that you can now see Internet Sharing between Bluetooth and accounts!
5. Reboot
6. Deploy WP7 Root Tools (Heathcliff)
7. Now launch Root Tools and go to Local Machine -> Comm -> InternetSharing and manualy add:
Name => value (type)
EntitlementURI => ./Vendor/MSFT/Registry/HKLM/Comm/InternetSharing/Settings/OpenMarketEnabled (string)
OpenMarketEnabled => 1 (dword)
8. Clear "CellularConnectionName" (aka set to empty)
and you can go to settings -> Internet Sharing and start it up
// Oh and I had some problems with it when system was set to CZECH. When I HRed and did the same process in English, it worked fine ?!.
// You can also try my all-in-one provxml file on http://wp7.ondraster.cz/all.7z - deploy it via the Isolated Storage Explorer to the diagprovxml application and after running it, reboot the phone. I am not testing it, I already reset my phoe 5 times today. Sorry

What a great news! Finally it's here!
Yeah, but I need it even through cable - because when internet craps out at home, I want to be able to connect even my PC .
(at worst case scenario, I could change router to client mode and connect to phone from there )

Hello OndraSter, long time no see. Glad to see you are WP7 too.
Yeah, I agree about having wired tethering. Luckily my PC has a WiFi adapter, but a decent amount of Desktops don't. No need for WiFi on something that never moved especially when Gigibit LAN is way faster than the fastest WiFi.
If this will be blocked on unbranded/outside of US devices (like voicemail is), I will be really pissed off!

Visual Voicemail is dependent on your carrier, tethering isn't though they could very well hide the setting via registry. So, even if they do hide it, we'll be able to unhide it with a registry hack, same as how some devices have the "never" option for the lockscreen timeout & the accessibility options disabled.
Why are you so sure?

This quote has a registry directory that wasn't in the Beta 2 Emulator Dump. I have the full registry from a dumped emulator of 7692 compiled & this directory isn't in it. I'm trying to find a new 7720 dump to so I can compile it's registry.
EDIT: It appears this directory exists in NoDo 7392. I just opened my registry editor & manually added this key & it shows up as (unavailable info). I wonder if this means tethering was always there but hidden.
soooo.... anyone with an unlocked rtm mango willing to take a shot at enabling it?

EDIT: From further examination of the RTM update packages. Internet Sharing seems to be in 7712 as well. The netcore.7.10.7712.60-7.10.7720.68.cab doesn't have an RGU & has a few updates to a couple DLL's (icscsp.dll/IcsService.dll/intshare.dll) & the netcore.7.10.7718.66-7.10.7720.68.cab has nothing new added to ICS aka Internet Connection Sharing.
Can someone running Mango RTM 7720 that has TouchXplorer Side Loaded & working as well as the PC USB Enable hack please copy out \Windows\E58CB45D-B3FE-405d-85CF-4D19C2AE80BE.rgu & upload it here? It should be around 15.5 KB in size as the NoDo RGU is 12.5 KB & the 7720 update RGU is 3 KB, which get's added to the existing RGU in \Windows\. You should be able to copy it out as I am running NoDo was able to pull it out with WPDM, but it doesn't work in Mango so you'll need to use TouchXplorer/USB Hack. I might be able to find the exact registry value with this file.
Well if thats true, then maybe we can get access to it via provxml... Just like chevron, dont we?
I posted this in a new thread at PPCG also. no longer is no tethering a deal breaker for those on the edge.

This tool allows you to access your WP7 in Windows Explorer as a USB Storage device as long as Zune is closed. You need to copy that file to \My Documents\Zune\Content\ with TouchXplorer & than on you PC access the "USB Mode WP7" to copy it to your PC.
When I do this the only thing I am able to see is just four sub folders. Albums, Artists, Music, and Pictures. Am I doing something wrong?

Nope, those are the folder that are on your device under \My Documents\Zune\Content\(# Value)\.
You use TouchXplorer to copy from \Windows\ to \My Documents\Zune\Content\(# Value)\ & than on your PC you'll see it in one of the folders you mentioned.
So would it show up it copy the file into one of folders with a # value?
