Asus-P525 and Pioneer - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hi all,
I've got a Pioneer P70BT headunit in my car, and it has support for bluetooth to use it as a handsfree, however I cannot connect my Asus-P525 to it, as it doesnt detect it as a phone, so doesnt come up when trying to pair it.
Asus has Widcomm bluetooth stack, so I don't know how to tweak the registry and to change the device class from PDA to phone or smartphone.
Has anyone managed it? or have any advice?
Cheers

try to upgrade with the newest ROM, v3.43WWE... maybe it will solve your problem

But how could it help me? Does anyone know how to change bluetooth device class with Broadcomm bl.stack?

You got PM, please check it.

Hy there,
I have got almost the same Problem as A13xiva.
the difference is just, that I am using a P535(and a P75bt headunit) and it isn´t able to connect automatically.
Connecting to the Headunit is just possible, when I search for it with my P535, but the Pioneer isn´t able to find my P535(bluetooth is visible).
Is there anybody who has an Idea how to solve my problems?
Another bluetoothstack oder some reg-hacks?
best regards
Tobi

Hello, you got PM

Hi there,
many thanks to User22 for his PM, but it doesn´t really help me.
I found out, that there is a problem with the cod(class of device), so that my P75bt isn´t able to find my P535. Is there any possibility to change ist in my registry.
I saw a reg Hack for the MS-Bluetoothstack here, but does it work on my Widcomm? I have found the MS-regkey on my device as well, but didn´t find anything in the Widcomm registry entries.
Does anybody know a solution?

Hi, i sent you some more hints.
Hope it helps.

Can't connect to Ford Bluetooth handsfree device

Hello,
in a few weeks I'll get my new Ford car - equipped with the built-in bluetooth handsfree device. I tried to connect my MDA 3 to this device at several Ford dealers but didn't get any connection.
The MDA finds a "Ford Audio" but can't establish a connection.
Who has any ideas ?
Thanks in advance - Dieter
I have the same problem with a new mondeo...
Everything works with an old nokia 6630 (with a small nokia application I can browse the phonebook as well) but I'm not able to pair the bluetooth ford audio system with my HTC TyTN...
Any ideas?
try using a newer bluetooth stack.
What is a bluetooth 'stack' ?
And how do I change to a newer one?

As far as I know, you'll need to update the Radio portion of your device's ROM based software (the basic software that drives the device).
The best bet in your case I believe would be to just grab a new complete update for your device by searching the wiki for downloads for your device. Download a newer official ROM, install it and try again.
You will lose all saved data on the device though so back it up>
Wiki is here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/
Did upgrading the bluetooth stack fix this connectivity issue to Ford Audio Bluetooth Handsfree devices?
Same problem. I've tried to upgrade bluetooth stack: my BA finds "Ford Audio" but doesn't connect. Please give us some help

after correct pairing (code 0000), press "Phone" on the caraudio system and then "Menu". After that press left or right joypad on the caraudio to set the "Active Phone". It will search and your phone will be correctly paired.
The last paired phone will be automatically active when you turn on the caraudio system next time.
In some cases will also help to install on the device the JETware application... just try.
Problem Solved!
Thank you dark horse, followed your advice and it worked just fine. I can now connect via bluetooh in my ford.

O2 Atom Life & Pioneer CD-BTB200 Bluetooth Wireless Adapter

Hi all
I'm having problems trying to use my O2 Atom Life WM6 with the Pioneer CD-BTB200 Bluetooth device, which basically allows to use my in-car stereo receiver for hands free function.
With other bluetooth enabled phones, I was able to manually initiate a connection to the Pioneer bluetooth device after sucessful pairing. Unfortunately, the O2 does not have this function.
Anyone has a similar problem and found a solution ? O2 tech support was not able to provide any solution.
I had the same problem. While searching the internet for help, I found a solution for that.
In the registry: HKEYY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\SYS\COD change the value to 5374476 (DEC).
That should help.
It didn't help

Bluetooth Woes
Hi, I have the same issues, bought a bluetooth keyboard, the driver does not find the bluetooth stack, so it all ends there!
I can see and pair to the device but it does nothing.
Same Phone Vodafone v1520 = ASUS P550.
Has anyone got and answers, comments, help.
The keyborad manufacturer, iGO said, "We no longer make the keyboards, so there will be no further driver updates". Nice!
Any assistance would be greatly appriciated.
bluetooth problem solved
Hi, well I now have a a working bluetooth keyboard. Using it to write this post. The way to fix the issue? buy a different keyboard!
I have now got the Freedom Input unversal keyboard. After a little hassle 'unlocking' the driver with help from their tech support, very fast response, it all seems to work well. The instructions with the packaging aren't very good, but the downloaded manual is a step by step guide. Once paired and thr driver setup, you can turn off the keyboard and blutooth on phone then turn them both on again and away you go, it remembers all the settings. running on Vodafone v1520 - ASUS P550 Windows Mobile 6. many Thanks for your interesting site.
Cheers, Adrian.

There is a small program which toggles wifi on and off. Maybe this could be called from your app.

I've had somewhere some code that worked on FSC T830, but I think it should be fairly universal. I'll see if I can find it.
Files attached, if I didn't mess up attaching zip archive. Sources are from a certain project where I didn't need to control wifi, but you should be able to understand everything.

Bluetooth Car Audio issue with Arc on Official ICS 4.0.4??

Hi All,
tried searching the threads on ICS upgrade with bluetooth and Blue&Me but unfortunately couldn't find much so thought of writing.
I have upgraded to the official sony ICS ROM via PC Companion on my Arc (LT15i).... done a repair... and set it up exactly the way i want to. must say that i loved it and am quite happy with the performance of the phone as well... there's the occasional lag but it isn't too bad as yet.
Now to my problem (and a few other queries)
1) Bluetooth: Has anybody had any success in pairing the bluetooth with another bluetooth device... preferably a car bluetooth system? I had it working perfectly on the GB (.62) ROM and could use the phone via my Fiat Linea's Blue&Me feature. Now i just can'[t pair it.... when i search for devices it does show Blue&Me but when i try to pair it all i get is that wait cursor kinda thing and then back to search devices screen. it just doesn't pair and give me the option to enter the passcode generated by Blue&Me.
2) Has anyone faced any issues in editing contacts which are synched to Google? Thankfully the HD Pics now work as google sync is not resizing them but in some contacts when i try to edit it the screen simply scrolls back to the top. these are linked contacts (Gmail... Facebook... Facebook inside Xperia.... Whatsapp).
thank you very much in advance for any help that the gurus on this forum can give. I'd especially like to get the bluetooth working as i can live with the contacts editing issue!
thanks, Maverick

Hello
the phone "sees" the blue and me and try do pairs...but no popup asking for the pin appears...i wonder if there is any way to force the phone to ask the pin given my blue and me:-(
I think the problem is with Blue&Me... I've a Parrot and a Chinese GPS integrated in the other Car, and no problem with both of them.
Try to remove the asociation from the Car and then try to pair again. Maybe the Blue&Me assumes the device is the same and the protocol may be different.
In case it doesn't work this way, maybe you need an update from Fiat.

Thanks, i will try this tomorrow and update with my results.
getting something from Fiat is probably never going to happen.... they can't get those teeny weenie yet important spare parts for the car available when you need them most so i doubt they are going to do a B&M upgrade [Country: India]
I had issues at first with my ford but it seems if I initiate pairing from my car stereo, it works fine
Same issue on Subaru forster
have the same issue on Subaru after updating to ICE, the Xperia ARC identify the car media, but it fails (and no pin enter screen)
This is not happening in GB so I guess it is an ICE issue.
Anyone have news on it? or maybe some ROM do support BT?
duplicate post
same problem on mercedes and LT18i (xperia ray) It won't ask the pin. Sometimes I see it connected for less than a second.
I don't have the possibility to connect from car radio, it has te be connected via the phone.
Time to get a laptop to the car and chech with adb logcat

found this whist searching online.
The Workaround:
1) Turn on bluetooth on your smartphone and open a contact card.
2) Start the pairing of hands-free of the car.
3) When the blue & me asks for the code, send the contact via Bluetooth: The phone searches for other devices. Selecting "Blue & Me", you have the opportunity to enter the code presented on the dashboard.
4) Now Blue & Me will ask you to copy the address book: Select "Yes".
5) In the notification bar of smartphone is prompted to connect bluetooth: select "do not ask for more" and accept the request.
