I've been looking for themes. Found some good ones, but none to match the new ROMS that have been cooked-up. If anyone knows of a great source for some to match our new WM6 ROMS please provide a linky! I'm gonna see if I can take one I have now and edit some of the IMG files to make it better suitable for WM6 Black. So far, Vista is the only WA theme I've used that matches the Black ROM.
You're talking about WisAdvance Desktops? You don't need to stay with Black there are so many things that can be done once it is loaded...that is unless you want to stay with black. I'm using this one and it is pretty effin sweet.
There is also a new mac WBA and WBAD theme that is pretty sweet.

Is WAD still buggy, slow and unstable? Also how much memory does it use?

My memory is still pretty good. I stay between 14mb and 22 mb of program memory. I think bugs and memory issues have a lot to do with the skins you install as well. The iPhone skin soaks up alot of mem and I noticed that whenever I used that skin it WBA and WBAD would just shutdown. When i use less complex skins like....Vista Portable and the one you see here mem and bugs are @ a minimum. So...the skins you select will play a roll in bugs and memory. Always keep that inmind..plus if you are running PIE, Slingbox, and other apps in the background...while using WBA and WBAD...memory will vanish.
I won't say that somethings won't pop up from time to time but...WM is buggy. The PPC platform has NEVER run perfectly even from the CE days. Why do people expect it to? Think about your latpop and MS. BSOD...crashes and such...MS isn't perfect. Why expect the apps that run on it to be?
OK maybe I'll give WAD another chance then.

I'm acutally really enjoying it.
Using WAD, Can you have a button to bring up something like SPB weather? SPB weather is usually only visible under a today screen.
Basically, I want to be able to access SPB weather, but dont necessarily want it showing on the today screen all the time.
Thanks

I don't think so. That is why I use Fizz Traveller because it is a standalone app with a today plugin. with WBA and WBAD I have fizz set up as a shortcut with a kute lil weather icon and it just brings up the weather for me.
There are other weather apps that people are using with WBA and WBAD that puts interractive weather screens on the WBADesktop. They are sweet. You should check out the Lakeside forums and sneak a peak. It will make you drool.
But...I've had really no issues with WBA & WBAD and WM6.
I'm pretty sure you can. You will need to add a new virtual page. On that virtual page you enable the plugin for SPB Weather. The on your original page you create a button to take you to the virtual page with the SPB Weather plugin.
How do you create a virtual page?
WA WM6 default
Does someone know a WA theme that mach the original WM6 blue theme?
I want to keep the default look of the new rom (LVSW here) and get the aditional features of Wisbar Advance (background task icon, task management, configuration of the icons...).
Thanks
Vista Theme?
To use the vista desktop theme, do you have to manually customize the entire desktop from scratch? I don't see the "theme" file for WAD, I only see it for WA2. I'm so confused?!
Try this.

There are other at the lakeridge site, just look around.
iconsxt
anyone get the iconsxt skin to work? I put the dll in the skins folder but i cant see it to use it?
go to the forums at lakeridge and there are lots of skins, even a crossbow.
I like to Vista Berry and Vista Lime.
Does anyone know how to "install" a WAD skin?
I've downloaded a very nice Windows Vista Portable Skin for WA2 and WAD. I'm using it on WA2, but dont know how to do the same for WAD. Or would that just be redundant?
Thanks...I've searched the lakeshore forums, but still cant figurte it out.
Here's the link to that:

exe file for list or programs?
Is there an executable file to go to the list of installed programs?
For example, without wa2 and wad, if you pressed programs, it would take you to an entire page of programs that you installed and they have large icons.
I am planning to make a shortcut on my WAD2 vista start menu to that same place. I need to find a way to shortcut to that page. So far i've only been able to shortcut to the folder, but that makes it open file explorer and i see the list of program and folders with small icons. Is there any way to point it to the standard programs page with the large icons?

for wisbar advance desktop:
copy osx_WAD folder to into your pda in Themes/desktop/ folder (which is found in Programs/Lakeridge/...)
(root/Themes/Desktop/osx_wad/)
and click theme settings icon in the settings panel or the load wisbar advance and click desktop, select theme manager and select the osx_wad theme
for wisbar advance:
copy osx_WA folder into stroge card or the ramdisk folder.. click wisbar advance settings in the programs/wisbar advance/wisbar advance settings… select custom theme, press customize and press import theme button.. select the osx_wa.skin file which you copied to where did you want and press ok… it’s done!
for dialpad skin:

Premade Vista WAD theme
Does anyone have, or know where i can get a pre-made vista theme for WAD? Doing everything from scratch is SOOOO time consuming, and frankly, i can't do EVERYTHING to make it all fancy with popping windows, appropriate graphics, and shortcuts.

I like the theme a lot as well as the tweaks, but I had to turn smarttoolkit off because while it's awesome it sometimes freezes or doesn't respond. Great job on the theme though, it'd be nice if you could reach the com manager from the main screen and if it had a quick launch.

good idea, i can add another line to the bottom of the theme under missed calls, maybe it will say "ComManager" or something like that, but how do i just add a text link to it?
Using it now. Looks great. The only thing is that the time and date look out of place on the left, at least compared to the great look of the right side of the homescreen.
I've also had issues with smarttoolkit but I'll give this version a try.
Thanks.
i know, i couldnt get the time and date to place the way i wanted them to be because of the plugins on the right side of the theme, they interfere with the time and date
Carousel theme on HTC S620 (phone make over)
Hello Aldech, can i just ask, can this theme be used on the HTC Elf (wm6) sorry if this is a silly question
no, it can not, this is only a smartphone theme, it doesnt work on a touch screen win mobile, unless there is a way to implement it that i dont know of
Having problems with smarttoolkit again, can't read text messages. The list of text messages comes up but it won't open any of them. Also if i select messages on the desktop, battery information comes up.
how can i make it so smarttoolkit starts up when my phone starts up?

Yea, I used the version you uploaded. Its a really nice program but on my dash for some reason it would freeze and certain things wouldn't work sometimes. I'll try it again now that I'm using the HTC rom and the phone is generally running smoother. I hope you keep working on this theme, it's one of the best I've seen.

It So Beautiful
I got to keep it on my Dash, its so beautiful........!
Great homescreen. Thanks for putting the time into it. Using now.
FANTASTIC THEME!
I am really enjoying using it....
I do have one request/suggestion....
On the home screen, could you make the highlight of what "section" you are in more apparent?
i.e. The switch between Profile, Messaging, and Missed Calls.
If you can make it more apparent which one the cursor is on would be a HUGE improvement. The highlight doesn't seem to be much of a delta between the one you are on and the one you are not on.... The "Messaging" one doesn't even change when you are "on it"
Thanks
D.
i can but if i do, when you highlight for example profile or missed calls, if i make them bigger, they will be out of place, i will give it a shot when i get home and let you know, and for the messaging part, the work "messaging" is actually just a picture with the background its not really active.
IMO, you might want to look at removing "messaging" from the wallpaper and make it part of the home screen so it can be highlighted by either changing colors or making it bold. That would also open up changing wallpaper but keeping your layout.
Here's a theme I've been working on using icons and dlls off the 6.5 rom.
This theme is made to be used with the File Changer and Mortscript, that I've included with the Theme pack. For those who don't know what the File changer is , you can check it and learn how to use it here.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=413393
I have also included the original glass panel .dla, for those who eventually want to go back to the original panel. I've also included 2 orginal WM 6.5 wallpapers.
All you have to do if you're not using file changer already is, install File Changer & Mortscript, drop the tahoma .ttf on the windows directory, make a folder where you're gonna keep the .cpr and .dla's in, and reboot. Using File Changer , change to the 6.5 .cpr and then choose whatever .dla you want. That's it!
I want to thank Showaco for getting me the files needed for this, and I also want to thank my bud Stylez for his assistance and suggestions on creating the look of the .cpr for this theme.

The 6.5 rom is available here on xda but not for the Dash . Is actually a PPC rom as of now, hopefully soon someone will make a smartphone version of it that we can use on the Dash. If you want to see more on the 6.5 rom , check the tilt/kaiser and rhodium/touch pro forums.

hey rolo is there a way you can turn it to a cab like nrgz blue panel?
im having trouble installing this on my dash (i got the rose rom). i put the file changer in my documents (unzipped) and put everything else in a 6.5 folder in my documents. i install the .cab file to my phone, run the file changer and set to the 6.5 cpr and change the .dll and it restarts, but when it does i do not see any change, what am i doing wrong? and what do i use the refresh file for?

I am really sorry, I can't believe I forgot to explain that the panels on the rose rom are different from the regular 6.1 kavana or rickwyatt' remakes
the panels need to be installed in .cabs for them to work, I'll get this squared away and add it to my theme for the use with the rose rom.
hmm that sux man. i like the rose rom, but i have been thinking of going to rickys rom. i used to use it back in the day and i really liked it. ill hang around to see if ya fix it, if not ill flash to rickys rom. also i got a spare dash to test on now, sorta lol
I have been searching and searching for the perfect Programs Tab solution for my HD running the Rhodium Manila on Dutty's 3.9 XT Turbo ROM. It's taken me a few days of searching but I finally found it.
Believe it or not, it's not custom, it's not special, its 100% stock made by HTC and it was just waiting for someone to find it!! What could be better than a Programs Tab designed by the same company that designed the interface itself?!?
This is the picture right here that gave me the idea to try this: http://www.tmonews.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/picture1.jpg The US T-Mobile Rhodium is going to have a Programs Tab instead of that corny Start Menu. When I saw this image, I immediately tried the Start Menu/Programs Tab Manila file from the T-Mobile US Rhodium Manila. JACKPOT!!
This cab I threw together fixes the 3 common bugs when you try to enable the Programs Tab and disable the Manila Start Menu.
1. Programs Tab soft-keys stick to all tabs. -FIXED!!
2. When click "All Programs" there is no "Back" soft-key. -FIXED!!
3. When click on program on programs tab, Start menu also pops up. -FIXED!!
This cab will disable the Manila Start Menu, and enable the Programs Tab.
Here's a few screenshots(resized for the sake of everyone):

You can download the cab attached below.
Installation Instructions:
1. Disable TouchFlo 3D from Today Settings
2. Copy cab file to device anywhere
3. Install cab file to MAIN MEMORY
4. Soft-reset
5. Re-enable TouchFlo 3D
6. ENJOY!!
NOTES::
1. To Clear the Programs Tab of HTC or your chef's pre-set applications, install my "DHarvey Clear Programs Tab.cab" (This cannot be reversed by un-installing)
2. To get the Green Highlight on the Start Menu, install my "DHarvey Green Start Menu Highlight.cab" (This CAN be reversed by un-installing)
3. My "DHarvey HTC Programs Tab Fix.cab" CAN be un-installed if you decide you prefer the Start Menu instead.
4. My "DHarvey HTC Program Icons.cab" should only be installed if you do not already have them. It CAN be un-installed if you decide you do not like them or no longer want them.
5. Seems to only work on TF3D Version 2.1.xxxxxxxxxxx
6. May make programs tab look very small after installed - see post number 12 for a screenshot of this. I do not experience this issue if you look at my screenshots above. I believe this is due to TF3D being Version 2.0.xxxxxxxxxxx
Thanks for sharing mate!!!

Hmm Would this work on a stock rom with stock manila? To scared to try..
Can you share the icons of the program tab? i cant find them anywhere...
I see that this cab only modifies 3 registry values. This works for Manila 2.0, but I doubt that this will work for 2.1. Am I correct?
UPDATE: Weird... It DOES work on Manila 2.1 (running Topix 2.3.1.)
hmm.. ran into in issue, but I guess it has to do with one of the other apps I've got installed.
The problem is that the icons and text in the program tab are smaller in size. The position of the program names seems a bit of as well. I don't know where in the registry the size of the icons is, therefore I am not sure about which app causes this. My guess is that it is caused by the "HTC Small Menu"...
The strange thing is that when I uninstall this cab again, the Manilla "Start Menu" displays the correct size.
Anyone else having this behaviour?
EDIT: just did a hard reset and did nothing but installing your cab and I have the "problem" that the icons are too small. It is linked to the one manilla file, but that's as far as I get...

Can't say icon size is really a problem for me. Must be the version of Manila you installed it on as all the custom Programs Tab mods had the opposite effect for me. They made the icons on the Programs Tab huge and cut off parts of the tab off the edges of the screen.

Did you even read the thread title? This is for WVGA and only WVGA. It might get ported to VGA later but I highly doubt that it will ever make it to QVGA since you don't even have the interface to begin with.

Sweet, I was wondering when you were going to start posting your roms here vin. I've switching from your roms and nfsfans roms. You make some great roms.
Hey Vin,
Thanks for the ROM. Gonna try it out tonight. Might be worth putting in a link to the carrier cabs in your first post. Will stop a whole mess of questions such as where do i get ... etc.

Thanks,guys,for advice
How could I make the manila theme black instead of red, but keep the flip clock with weather on the home tab? m2dc is not my friend for some reason.
Here is a vista theme for M2DC
Vin, I installed your rom, and installed cyberdyne weather editor to add my home city. It adds the home city, but keeps saying "unable to retrieve data from select city" Is there a fix for adding your own city to the weather that I have to do beside just adding my home city. I know before there was a manilla.exe file I had to copy to the windows directory, I can do that, but it wipes out the manilla weather on the home screen. So I was wondering if you knew of a fix for the new manilla?

I have no idea,I baked S.V.I's optimized Manila files. As far as I know they were optimized to reduse the RAM usage and it has nothing to do with the cities database.
The best place to find solution is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=541750
Thanks vin, I just posted on that forum too.
Nice to see you over here. This ROM is awesome and should be here too so more people can enjoy it
The only way I got my weather to work ski21 is to clear the list. Then at that point added my town and saved it. I was then able to select it from the list and get it updated. Then there is a CDMA Home weather fix cab out there as well. That is also needed to get the weather to show on the Home screen. I hope this helps!

Thank you HEXTO.
Especially when geeks server is down for a second day.I cannot even update my threads over there lol.
I can't find the info on it, but if I want to add some cab files to your config.txt what do I need to add to be able to make selections during install??
vin... a couple things I have found after your latest version and a couple days of messing around with it.. Heres the list I think its small but thought you would like to know.
Bubble Breaker does not work, SHCreateMenuBar Failed.. then goes to Cannot open Bubble Breaker resource file. Then it closes.
I have now been receiving my own emails when replying to email, This used to happen in my exchange email but now is happening within my hotmail email. I am wondering if there is a default setting to change in the registry to have reply instead of Reply all.
Besides these two issues and the one I mentions on ppc about the task manager this ROM is very very good. I dont plan on changing from your ROMs anytime soon, I see them only getting better(not there is much room to get better)
Thanks again for all your hardwork, and anyone who has helped you as well!

Its very simple, but better not to use it because they will be deleted from your SD after installation.
If you still want to do this, just make sure you have a copyes of your cabs.
and keep adding the cab names to mycabs.txt.
In my opinion its better to keep it within 2-3 cabs (mostlikely for carriers stuff)
CAB: \Storage card\cabname.cab
CAB: \Storage card\cabname.cab
CAB: \Storage card\cabname.cab
CAB: \Storage card\cabname.cab
CAB: \Storage Card\dcd_Sprint_Carrier_20081020.CAB
CAB: \Storage Card\SPCS_Internet&GPS_FIX.cab
CFG: \windows\config.txt

ha-ha bubble breaker is the last thing I expected to fail....
Task manager is removed because Microsoft decided so lol.Its very uncomfortable for me too. There is a third party software to replace x-button,but some people had problems with it after few days of use,so Im not even posting the link to that cab.
In 23071 bubblebreaker removed, not sure if email issue is gone or not
Bubble Breaker has always been my go-to timekiller. lol
I got around the task manager bit by adding it to the Programs panel, slightly annoying but I am getting used to it.

What will these do?
These panels will convert various home interfaces into panel.
What are benefits of using these?
There are 2 major benefits:
Easy changing between interfaces
Better performance and stability of device because you have only one interface loaded at a time.
These panels need appropriate software to run. For example you need to have SPB mobile shell installed to use SPB panel. Here are the links to find it:
TouchFLO3D: DOWNLOAD
Sense: Only cooked in ROMs. Find ROM that have it.
Titanium: Preinstalled in WM 6.5
SPB Mobile Shell: INFO & BUY / TRIAL
Androkkid: DOWNLOAD
iFonz 2: DOWNLOAD
Infinity: DOWNLOAD
How to install it?
Scroll to bottom of this post to attachments
Download these files
Copy them to device
Open files with file manager and install
Do i need to install all of them?
No, you don't have to install all of them (for example don't install spb panel if you don't use spb mobile shell).
To get best results, disable auto startup of every "paneled" interface:
Before changing these, is recommended switch to today panel.
Sense/TouchFlo3D: Go to today settings and uncheck "TouchFLO3D" and/or "Sense"
Titanium: Go to today settings and uncheck "Windows Default"
SPB Mobile Shell: Browse to \Windows\Startup with file explorer and delete SpbMobileShell file
Androkkid:Go to Androkkid settings and uncheck "Start with Windows"
iFonz 2:Go to iFonz 2 settings and uncheck "Start with Windows"
What is NewSensePanel?
This is new experimental panel that uses pure panel manager without any extra apps to launch sense. We could even say that this is actual sense panel and not panel launcher.
NewSensePanel is runnning directly in panel manager, which makes switching very smooth and fast. While normal SensePanel closes panel manager and uses standard today screen, which will minimalize problems, but switching will be little slower. Decide for yourself
You need .NET Compact Framework to run these panels
Post request in this thread, if you wish panel for another interface.
If you are using infinity panel, exit infinity before switching to another panel. Closing mechanism is currently broken.
thank u for your share,
Can it work on my X1 ROM R7A-016? are u test
I dont know, test it by yourself

After hours of figuring damn thing out, here are first results.
I made two panels that allows you to quick switch between today screen, panels, touchflo3d/sense and titanium. Im also working on SPB launcher panel, so you could quickly switch between those too.
I recommend you turn titanium and touchflo3d/sense off in today settings before trying this.
Whole stuff is still in BETA because i didnt have a chance to do much testing.
Please test and report results.

Great work...thanks for sharing.Let me test it.
Added SPB panel.
im surprized theres not not more responses on this....I thought alot of people were looking for it...this might make me reinstall panelmanager!
Maybe its not working or is working too bad that people dont bother posting.
Anyway, NewSensePanel added.
Thank you so much, I think this is great!
Edit: Just installed everything and it works perfectly! Oh and when you install the NewSensePanel you can have Titanium on your today screen and Sense on a seperate panel, so you don't need to install the separate titanium panel launcher anymore. I am very happy with this
Just tried... is just me or its not automatic run current panel at startup?
Panel manager runs today panel at startup. I remember seing app to change that, but i dont remember where.

Thank you for sharing! Great work!
Do anyone know of a Sense cab? I don't like it so much, nor the rom's with it, but with this solution, I wouldn't mind having it installed.
Hey guys!
It looks pretty good! thx for matejdro!!
Some problems will fix by using SensePanel (not New) but the New one is more developed))
it works with all versions of Mobile Shell ever made and the WindowsTitaniumInterface is as functional as it is staying on the Today Screen)
+1 for the author

SensePanel (not New) is not getting less developed. Maybe i didnt hit the name, AltSensePanel would be better i think. These panels are both having advantages and disadvantages. SensePanel closes down panel manager and launches sense its in native enviroment (today screen) while in NewSensePanel panelmanager manages sense, which means its run on panel instead of today screen.
ACtually if one is getting less developed, it will be NewSensePanel, because there is not much to do. Sense is launched and managed directly from panel manager without any external apps.
