I installed the new LVSW OS and a flashplayer. Now I can see YouTube video on my 8525! This was not possible prior to the new LVSW release! Way cool!!
Is this common for everyone here? Having youtube working.
Thanks for all the hardwork eveyone!

which flashplayer?
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer_pocketpc/
Cheers for the quick reply!
This is awesome! Never gotten YouTube to work before.........too cool!
It works for me too...but quite slow/choppy (even on 3G network)... my problem is, perhaps, that I am viewing with PIE ... what are other folks using to log-in to youtube?
Have you tried either deleting/adding the proxy, or the DNS server tweak? Might solve the choppy issue, but I can't test right now.
I installed Macromedia Flash Player 6 for Pocket PC. into my main device and now it work on youtube. I will try myspace video today.
LOL seriously, that's awesome thanks
Bizzare,
I installed the latest flash (7) player, installed fine, but youtube showing message saying i may have javascript disabled or an old version of flash?

I see this as well, on an older build I was able to get orb flash videos to work but they were choppy.

Yeah, I second this!!! Even if you lower the quality, increase size of disk used, or wait for complete video download to play. It still is choppy, but at least we are closer.
running WM6 LVSW 25032007 and working great here with flash 7!
Also try www.albinoblacksheep.com
I love the flash videos here and was surprised they work! I tested the blowjob song.
Have fun!
Can anyone verify if this works on WM5?
I installed it and I am getting the same message that I have javascript turned off so I guess it doesn't work with WM5.
Let's see...this is the Hermes WM6 forum and the first post did mention LVSW... Why was it ever a question if it would work on WM5???
I get the same message about having JavaScript turned off or an old version of Flash...
Anyone using WM6 Black 1.2 able to watch videos on youtube?
guys,
which flash player are you really using ?
I have FP7 from Adobe and I can't see Youtube videos on PIE with WM6 (XDA 0.2 OS)
I am using FP 7 with LVSW OS. This is the only OS that current is working on my 8525. I have tested previous favors (OS), but not one of them was successful in playing YouTube video. I think it currently only work on the LVSW OS, I could be wrong.

Definitely not working on a TyTN here with FP7/LVSW latest OS... I'm getting the Javascript "lacking" message.

Any new development or fix for getting sling player mobile to work with wm6?
I thought i put a post yesterday about it, but it must have been deleted. I didn't add it to the XDA live or vanilla threads, since it doesn't seem to work on either version..SO i guess its just a WM6 thing..
Has anyone been able to get sling player mobile to work on any version of wm6?
No it is missing an audio codec or atleast the correct reference to it, we do no know which codec either.
I have the request in with engineers at sling, but no response. I am working through some other registry stuff but nothing yet.

Yea, I re-installed WM6 on my universal and tried sling and it doesn't work on that version of WM6 either. I called in a support ticket to sling and they were basically no help. Aware of the problem, but since WM6 is not officially released for hermes devices or universal devices, it was not high on their list to fix. Although, they admitted a future fix may become available. They said they hoped to have a fix available when WM6 devices become more officially released. And then may only work on the devices that are officially supported as WM6 devices.
We r keeping track of this over here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296058
it seems that whatever is TCPMP slingplayer from working is also messing with slingplayer.

What devices actually officially have WM6, we should call a trouble ticket on that. Tech support piss me off. They want to know which device so they can say it is unsupported, but really it is WM6 and not the device.

I've upgraded my wing to wm6.1 and my slingplayer quit working as well. Now I'll post a note with sling media requesting an upgrade.
Edit: I tried the different fixes suggested in the referenced threads but they didn't work for me. It installs fine, it locates my box fine, tried to connect then errors. It did work on wm6 but not 6.1.
I have Sling Mobile working on WM6. Are you referring to 6.1? If you're talking about 6 then I'm not sure why mine works but I will be happy to list all of my specs.

Same here, it works fine for me on WM6, VP3G 3.62.3 firmware, radio 1.54.30.10....
I've got TNT 6.1 ROM loaded on my device and SlingPlayer works fine. There shouldn't be a problem with WM6 or WM6.1 that I've seen and I've flashed both versions in last few months and have used SlingPlayer. I'd make sure your passwords are all correct and that you are making sure you are using the admin password if that box is checked.

Hi all,
I tried skype mobile version on my trinity, i see my contacts and they are able to call me to. but wenn i try to answers the call the phone keeps ringing. I search this forum but see a lot of thing for wm6. I want to stay on WM5 untill WM6 rom works 100 %. I went to skype to see the P3600 is supported en it seem the processor's not ? How can i get this to work ? I don't need skype any other voip program is good. The only thing i need is when at home i'd like to change or add a profile so i could call my home when i'm not in my country. Maybe some answers are abouvious for some guy of you but sorry i'm kind of new with this stuff.
tnx
I tried skype as well, when we where using cooked roms for wm5 and it worked fine.
Another program that also worked fine is SJ phone, but I don;t know any good internet voip servers
I can install SKYPE 2.2 on my Dopod D810. Once I try to login, everything alright, but it get restart when accepting any incoming call.
Skype chat ok. Calls do not work
I finally installed skype on my SPV M700, but it cannot make/receive calls.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Raffavito
I read somewhere that skype 2.2 does not support calling functions... what you need is skype2.2 beta... I guess you would need to search for that....cos I can't remember where I found it... the problem I have is that I can't seem to run that cab file under mun's rom. it says application not found for cab... anybody can help on that? is there a zip application I need to install or something?
Skype 2.0 works on trinity WM5
Hi
I had the same problems with the last version of Skype.
I found on Emule the version Skype Mobile v2.0.0.51 and it works ok.
If you need it send me an e-mail to raveiga32 at gmail dot com and I will send you this version.
Good luck
Try this one:
http://rapidshare.com/files/37248486/SkypeForPocketPC_Beta.CAB.html
It's 2.2.0.18 beta but everything seems to be working fine.
Download link for Skype for Pocket PC version 2.2.0.20.2 Beta is provided at the end of this post. I believe it should work fine for both WM5 and WM6 Trinity ROMs. I say this because it was clearly intended for WM5 but works fine with WM6. At this point I believe this is the most recent version they listed and offered specifically for the P3600.
Those are some curious issues being described! To be honest I had never been the biggest fan of Skype (some disappointing results in the past, plus the lack of outgoing Caller ID - which is finally being partly remedied). I have always prefered SIP for VoIP due to the potential for superior call quality, faxing and many other features that are possible. But the snag has always been that it is hard for SIP to get past blocked ports, firewalls and NAT, unless you have direct admin access to those things. The strength of Skype is that it will simply revert to using TCP web ports if needed so it will always work almost anywhere, even if it sounds awful at times!
All that said, I have found Skype it to be finally working really very well over WiFi on the LVSW 2.0.1.1. WM6 ROM for Trinity. But the version I am using is no longer provided for public download.
My Skype version 2.2.0.20.2 Beta.
When it was available as public download from Skype (really quite recently) it was clearly listed as the right version for the P3600. I notice that it has now been replaced with release version 2.2.0.36 and the nearest compatible phone shown is the P4350.
It seem old versions of Skype can be downloaded from their Developer Zone but it is necessary to sign a Non-disclosure agreement first to get at the old versions. Seems a little over the top if all that is desired is a previous Skype build. I don't want to know their secrets, just be able to get at an older version!
WiFi works great. 3G.... don't bother trying (in my opinion). Doesn't have the Skype to SMS feature but otherwise seems very functional and completely stable.
I hope this is helpful.
Here is a link for a download of the Skype for Pocket PC 2.2.0,20.2 Beta.
http://rapidshare.com/files/37978278/SkypeForPocketPC_2_2_0_20-2_Beta.CAB.html
Edit: BTW I find it works best with echo cancellation on and when used with the headset because otherwise sound comes out of the rear loudspeaker, not the phone speaker.
Would it be possible with the member who has the 2.2.0.51 beta to please put it on Rapidshare or elsewhere so people can get at it easily please? It would be great if we can figure out exactly which build seems best for the Trinity... might be different for WM5 and WM6 but I suspect the odds are it will be one of these two builds. All the best
Scratch that last bit. I misread the post. It was the 2.0.0.51 beta previously mentioned... older than mine not newer. Sorry for my mistake. My guess is that the 2.2.0.20.2 Beta I have linked above is probably going to be best. Good luck!
Sorry to bump the post. Did some research.... well more like just a lot of reading on the Skype website! The current official Skype Mobile Gold Release 2.2 (non-beta) has a list of phones which are now ONLY supported for text chat.
I am both surprised and dsisapointed to say that BOTH the Trinity and TyTN are specially listed as now being only capable of text chat.
The last Beta version of 2.2. (Skype for Pocket PC 2.2.0,20.2 Beta) as linked in thre post above, did specifially list the Trinity and TyTN as support for calling. The trinity works wll with that version over WiFi.
So download it, back it up and hang on to it real tight!
Any download problems, please post and I will be happy to upload it again elsewhere. While I do feel very sure this one should be best for WM5 and WM6do please post feedback if that is not the case so we will all the exact sitituation.
Many thanks.
Thank you for the useful info. Using the link you gave,I downloaded the older version of Skype 2.2 to use on my HTC TyTN but it has no exe file and I do not know how to proceed from here. Could you please help.
Just to test the water, I sent an e-mail to Skype asking for the older version but they refused, saying that I should try to get it from some third party !!!!
I am a new member to the forum and am not sure how to operate but I have saved the page as a favourite and hope I can get your reply. Thanks

The linked file... here it is again
http://rapidshare.com/files/37978278/SkypeForPocketPC_2_2_0_20-2_Beta.CAB.html
is not a desktop .exe file. It is a .cab file. Connect your device to your computer then use the Explorer Pocket PC option (may be called something abit different) in ActiveSync or Mobile Manager to move the file onto to your phone. The file has to be moved onto the phone then installed there. You use the File Manager program on the phone to locate it and then double click in it to install.
The phone will see the cab file as installable. To your desktop computer it will appear to be an uninstallable archive only.
In short it is on-device installable only. It is not installed directly from your desktop computer.
Hope this helps
Skype 2.2 on DOPOD 838Pro is CRASHING
After upgrading from Skype WM 2.1 to 2.2, I managed to sign-in but noticed my skype-out account was not recognized (no credits were shown) nor did I succeed to make the echo call. Skype just crashed! When I followed the link to activate my skype-out, I got a "page not found" message!. Since I knew I had credits available, I then tried to call using the dial and it crashed as well! This is serious as I had install an old version 2.0.0.39 because my previous version 2.1 was overwritten by the new executable that I downloaded!

Sounds very frustrating. Please would you share exactly which version works for you and which caused the big problems? Any numbers involved after 2.1 and 2.2 and is this beta or release versions? Clearly this is tricky stuff, so the more exact info we can share the more it may help people. Perhaps we should also try to track the exact ROM version of our phones which work and don't with Skype versions so we can kind of build a little knowledge base for ourselves.
Also, was this over WiFi or 3G? I am wondering if the Page not found could be a DNS issue occuring which may be complicating factor.
Good luck!

Hi.
I use www.voipcheap.com as my voip provider and to me it rocks,I call Spain and other countries in Europe for a really nice rate and I live in USA.
Take a look at some destinations, because it´s free.
You can also use www.voipstunt.com and www.voipbuster.com, but like I said voipcheap works great.

Hi Guys,
I have a Touch Pro 2 (unlocked and unbranded in UK) which comes with the Opera browser as the default TouchFlo 3D offering.
I'm unsure which version of Opera Mobile this is but it doesn't have the capability of flash like some of the cabs I've seen floating around.
I've tried the 3.1 cab from this forum but this does nothing for Opera for me, Skyfire is an option but tbh looks horrid on the TP2 screen and even the flash 7 cab upgrade for the default IE doesn't seem to work.
Does anybody have any input on how i can get flash working on the default Opera Mobile browser?
(as a side note, I'm a new Windows Mobile user, any absolutely recommended software I should be installing onto my TP2 to get the most of it?)
I've been searching for the last few hours online and it does seem like nobody gives a damn about flash ont he Touch Pro 2, surely that can't be so?
Either its so easy eveybody just assumes we know the trick or it's impossible and common knowledge...
Hey i installed the BETA 9.7? last night and some flash works on that, just not others, apparently something to do with activex being disabled or something, im unsure.
I'd love to get flash working on opera, webpages look awesome on it. I'm not a fan at all of skyfire.
really? and the flash worked?
Please can you link me to the cab you used?
Sorry i didn't explain my post very well. BBC iPlayer worked but a few others didn't.
I just got the BETA from here:
http://www.opera.com/mobile/download/
wow you're right, i had tested before but didn't get good results.
Tries again and youtube worked etc. I think it's a little hit and miss atm.
I also find flash doesn't work if you have turbo mode on and could not get opera widget manager to even install.
Don't suppose you have any idea if it's possible to get the zoom slider to work in the beta?
Many thanks for replying to me.
Hi all,
I want to visit a site that is written in flash, but I haven't succeeded displaying it. I tried with the default opera browser of the latest ROM, with IE, and with opera 10 I installed from the opera site. I enabled the plugins in the options, but again nothing.
Any ideas?
Skyfire browser supports flash. I've never used it, but have an older copy. PM me if you can't find a current one.
Pls search....
Skyfire...
IE on WM6.5 (T-Mobile version) supports an older version of flash. I was able to get Last.FM and YouTube working (but not hulu, and YouTube native app is much better anyways).
you can get skyfire from http://get.skyfire.com
i dont like skyfire. flash actually will work with the ie from 6.5 (sorta), and close to all versions of opera cept that its buggy with 10. and dont expect great playback quality with any on a mobile device. to enable it in opera there i used to use this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544770) but it seems to work fine for me using this opera (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5902175&postcount=1669) on the stock 2.07 rom.

What ever version of opera comes in the stock Tilt 2 6.5 ROM doesn't support flash. IE has never supported flash by default. I had to install "Flash Player 7 Mobile" to get it to work. I still use Skyfire though. The new version has it's issues on the tilt 2 that I've found (distorted audio, browsing issues, etc), but hopefully it's just my device.

I didn't see anyone say that skyfire dropped windows mobile support, so its a wasted download, it was a few weeks ago... but its latest version was very awsome... makes me very sad to see it go. Looked good to me. Navigation was clean and fast, and the audio links all worked fine.
The only problem I saw was that all of the "Most recent" links on the free downloads page took me to the same place - the current schedule page.
Oh, boy...
Thanks for pointing that out.

That showed up another problem.
Apparently, my code on listseries.php was funked and it showed the same Recent Messages instead of the messages for each series.

No, it does not work. It tries to play it as a video (in full screen), but then it says that it can not play the video. Are you using a video format that Windows Phone 7 is supposed to support?
I don't have the foggiest idea.
It's a live stream that is going through a third-party streaming company (we encode, live, and stream to them, then everyone connects to them for the stream).
I've just implimented the code that they provided and it works for apple devices, but nothing else.
JJ
Edit...
Apparently, it works on a mac with safari, but not windows with safari.

I'm not concerned about how things look or function, just what background color shows up in portrait and landscape.
In theory, it should be blue for portrait and orange for landscape.
Please test with any browswer that windows phone 7 supports, if possible.
Thanks...
JJ
Seems to work with IE9 (WP build 7712)
However you can't read headlines/Links in portrait mode since they blend with the blue background
Color changes (so does the font size but i'm guessing that has to do with whatever you tied to the orientation). So to verify above, you're good on the 7712 mango build.
Yeah, the functionality of it is meaningless, at the moment.
I was in the middle of testing some xml loading and decided to try some css media query stuff.
It's lame, though, as my windows mobile 6.5 internet explorer isn't using media="handheld" or min/max-width.
JJ
Worked perfectly here.
