Anyone know the registry setting for the IE shortcut button on an S620? Sktools removed mine (said it was an invalid shortcut) and now everytime I press the IE button, it gives me an error saying the target application does not exist and locks up the phone (IE launches fine from within Start menu).
Thanks in advance...

\Windows\Short_IE.lnk is the file. If you look inside it, it says 36#"\windows\winwap.exe" by default.

How the hell do you do it? - It not compatible with spb pocket plus.
If I attempt to uninstall it throws an error, saying it is running, but there is no process in the task manager to stop.
Help greatly appreciated.

to stop it from running, i've just deselected it from the today plugins (start / settings / today / items), which seems to have done the trick.
Thanks - but I am trying to get rid of the O2 icon on the top menu bar.
I can move it from left to right but not uninstall it!
Any ideas?
ok here is all you have to do goto the startup folder in windows directory and remove connections from the folder this will not remove active but will stop the anoying o2 icon personally i like the very simple battery indicator and the profiles so i kept it alternativly you can ditch the whole of active by hard reset and use the Coperate option the password is in another thread think if i remember it is 0506
just checked it is that ..
A perfect answer many thanks
I can't believe I got it to work, but with some help from DeepThought in this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=295967) and other posts - I got it to work!
Here are the steps (many copied directly from DeepThought, so he gets the credit! )
First change/create the following registry keys
HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\Path = "\Program Files\Bluetooth Voice Command\BTVoiceCommand.exe" (string)
HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\VoiceCmdDuration = 30 (dword)
HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\LaunchAPEnable = 1 (dword)
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\BTA GExtModule = "OEMAGW.dll" (string)
Second, Create the Folder
\Program Files\Bluetooth Voice Command
Third, Place downloaded "BTVoiceCommand.exe" in that folder
and the downloaded "btagext.dll" in the Windows folder (both files below - again, from DeepThought)
Fourth, create the folder \Program Files\Voice Command
Lastly, copy voicecmd.exe from the windows folder on your device, to \Program Files\Voice Command
Soft reset your device, and good luck!
I just reloaded the MS Voice Command 1.6 that I bought at Handango and I am able to dial from my headset with no issues.

THANKS MAN!
this is working great man! THANKS!!!!
please, how to change/create those following registry keys ?
BUMP!
I tried what you said above and either my BT820 doesn't work with WM6 or my Dash isn't set up properly.
Any chance you could do some screen shots to show how the registry is supposed to look with the values and what not?

This solution worked on my Tmobile Wing. Thanks a million.
I tried to apply those reg settings but now when I push the bt button I hear the prompt for voice tag (it is still an improvement compared to before) but I'd like to use voice command
Could somebody help me, because I don't have a clue on how this is possible
Built In Ricky's 6.1 (30) ROM

All the BT features you are looking for are built into Ricky's 6.1 (30) ROM, including BT dun, even you can make call and answer your phone via your BT headset..........! You no longer have to do that old hack in post #1..........!
Thank you for taking the time to post this. I follwed your instructions carefully and it worked the first time. However, I do have experience editing the registry so it was easy for me to see where you were going with the instructions. Works great with my garmin GPS. Thanks
Gee. I tried all these steps on my WM6.1 Dash and nothing. (voicecommand works when I press and hold the home key but nothing happens in bluetooth). I triple checked the settings and locations of the files etc ...
Anyone have any insights?

I take it back. I can press my bluetooth headset (or the home key) and the voice command icon appears - but that's it. Nothing I say - either when connected BT or not has any affect. So I checked and all my tags are gone AND the menu selection to add a voice tag (to contacts or other programs) are gone. What gives? Anyone?

Wow, it works just fine! I have a 2-week old HTC Ozone and I'm using an ancient Motorola H505 BT headset because it is the only one that I can pair up with the phone.
After I tried turning it on by using File Explorer going to \Program Files\Bluetooth and hitting the voice command exe I heard a beep and I saw a little microphone icon appear on the home screen. I said "call home" and the phone started connecting. Then I shut down all tasks. Next, while on the home screen, I pressed and held the green call button and the little mic icon appeared again. I said "call home" again and the phone started dialing again.
Once I activated it, it stayed on in the background. But if you activate it and don't use it right away, the mic icon disappears and it automatically shuts down.
Now I need to find out how to make a shortcut link to put in the MRU so I can use it again!
PS I did NOT have to make a voice tag for it to work. But I did do a soft reset before I tried it out.
i would like to try this but i dont have voicemd.exe on my phone i do have voice command installed what do i do?
never mind i didnt see the the c in voicecmd lol will try and let you know if it works on a blackjack
this didnt work on my blackjack i607 i don't have the OEMAGW.dll does anyone know where i can get it?
Hi,
Can someone with an unbranded Excalibur post what the default behavior is if you press and hold the action button. I am getting an invalid link error and I do not recall what this is suposed to do.
Using the last S620 WM5 rom.
Thanks in advance.
default behaviour is "nothing" on my O2 Cosmo.
Maybe you have run "Vito Copy&Paste" and removed the file?

Hmm, perhaps it is Vito C&P but it works fine when text boxes have the focus. When not such as when PIE is running the error is "Error Opening the shortcut or locating the traget filename"
Perhaps it is Vito causing the error ?!
I have the Rogers S621 running HTC's WM5 ROM ( S620 same as Canada's S621 )
mine goes to "profiles" selection when press & hold the action button.
Vito is causing the problem...
Thanks for the feedback
I did a bunch of the reg tweaks while WM5 was loaded, and it all worked fine. Now Im finding several of them not working correctly, or values not being where I expected them to be. Are there any updated wikis or similar for the common registry tweaks for WM6?
Thanks guys!

why dont you post your tweaks your trying to use that way we can tell you if they are still relevant or not...
disable sms sent text and disable 3g startup animation are the two most annoying I can think of right now. I ran them thru registry yesterday but didnt seem to work. Thanks
Disable SMS Message Sent
Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSNoSentMsg=1
Disbale Startup Animation
Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\StartupAnimation\Enabled=0
Work just fine for me.
odd, I just did it AGAIN and yet it must not be saving as I did soft reset and animation still went off. When I pull up in Total Comm it doesnt save the settings.. any ideas?
Just did a power cycle and seems to have held. Weird.
Ok but are there any new reg tweaks specific to WM6 in general? thanks guys
There is any registry tweak to get Windows Live messenger connect through Wi-fi instead trying to find GPRS or 3G connection?
That will be nice .
My sms message stored in simcard show in inbox (not shown in wm5) . i feel that the speed of opening the inbox is quite slow and may be caused by reading sim sms. Is it possible to hide sim sms just like hiding sim contact?
Many Thanks!!
what are the settings to make ALL your outlook mail as well as all your POP3 mail go to a Storage Card. not just the attachments, but the whole message.
thanks alot.

as most registry programs dont perform a Hive Flush after making the changes its necessary to perform a power cycle to save the changes...

Forgive me for my innocence, how can i perform a power cycle?
It's just that i want my font to be in the cleartype in the landscape view permanently. It keeps going back to the original non clear type font everytime i turn my phone off or soft reset. I keep on editing HKLM/System/GDI/CleartypeSetting/OffRotation/from 1 to 0

Ditto - which I don't normally clutter up the forum with; however, I want to stress: it did require a POWER cycle to get it to stick.
After that, works on WM6 just like it did on WM5
Need to change Startup Sound
I have At&t Tilt
Does anyone know how to change start Up Sound
I know it has to be a .wav file (is there size limit to it ? )
Need Registry tweak
Had done it before but forgot how i did it
Have tried this, But it doesnt work >>>
Could it be cos i have Kaiser Tweak cab installed
Modify Startup Sound:
Registry: HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\StartupAnimation
Key: WAVFile (SZ String Value)
Default: \Windows\T-Mobile startup.wav
New Value: (whatever you want.wav)
I came across this really interesting app (KTPocketLaunch2). Basically it allows you to type the name of the app, and it incrementally finds the app in your start menu. As soon as it finds a match, it launches the app. I ran into a bit of trouble earlier on (key matching was off for the number keys), but you can reassign them in the Keyswap.ini file. There's an example on the site and a readme for it.
Oh and it can also act as a task manager, i.e. can switch to open apps, kill them etc.
This seems to be the quickest way to launch an app. Anyone else tried it? Also, I cant seem to get the mapping for 'a' to work. Any idea how to fix that?
