Hi guys,
As you probably figured, I am new to this forum and to XDA. I am waiting delivery. I've also ordered a 1Gb microSD card from ebay....unbranded samsung chip I thing...it was a fiver so I thought what the heck.
I see lots of post here talk about unlocking, ExtRom, Bootloader etc....
What I would like to know is even though the o2 XDA is unlocked, is the software locked in someway so the one is no able to install custom rom?
What are ExtRom's?
I am hopeing to use the GPS for hiking and also like a A-Z, does it give you accurate reading?
Can you guys point me to the reading materials to brush up on XDA?
Thanks in advance.

Yes it's accurate. You will need two different pieces of software for hiking and for A-Z type navigation.
I use Memory Map with OSGB mapping for "off-road" and Co-Pilot for "on-road".
There are other options for each type of use.

hi all
just wandering... ive just upgraded to wm6 but i dont have the big digital clock as seen on most screenshots of wm6 but i would love to have it.....
can some one tell me whats going on?
thanks
Westie277
You'll be needing HTC Home for that
Do a search and you'll get lots of reading and customisations for it.
Smiffy.
ok that didnt really help sorry all i want is the basic big digital clock on the home screen could someong give me the link to it?
How did he not help you, that is what your looking for. WM6 by default doesnt come with a big clock. Its added in later by manufacturer and end user.
Here u go

This is HTC's version if this isnt what you want then use your searching skills, like everyone else
But as lordsmiff has given you good advice you should learn to search first then read before you post, he is valued contributor to this site and is trying to help you become one too. Flashing can be addictive so happy reading and flashing.

You can also try Samsung Clock if you do not need all the functions of HTC Home.
Hello everybody, I am definately a new comer and really need your ideas about my worry.
I just bought a second-hand XDA EXEC O2 and realize that when I open the phone like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
...the connection between the 2 parts of the phone is very loose and I feel that it must have been used excessively before by the previous owner.
But when I close the phone completely or close the flip up side down (the screen is up) completely, everything is fine and all the parts are tightened and secured perfectly.
Right before I bought it, I asked the previous owner and he said:
"All the other exec xdas are the same like this one, Don't worry. It's not because of excessive use. The brand-new is the same. You know! This is like the case of any motorbike's chains, they must be loose at least to some extent..."
I need to know if what he said is true. Are all the XDA EXECs need to be a little loose at the connection b/w the 2 parts?
Thanks in advance.
sorry for my English.
Yes (almost all) Universals have the same problem after some time of using mine too. In closed position everything is fine there is a little fix for that problem, but you need to have some skills to open and repair it
Yeh I've had two now and both have been the same, the exact same as a laptop screen wobbles after age! There's nothing you can do to tighten it (I don't think) but it doesn't affect it at all!

sick ****, seriously
Does it beat...
Given that eBay is a place for selling air guitars, half half eaten mars bars, online gaming accounts and such like, is it really a surprise?
How on earth did you come across it by the way?
There are plenty of mentally challenged people out there so I'm sure someone will pick it up.

Hey guys, wow, finally ICS has come out, in a way or another... !!
I am wondering, if people having GPS issues (there were many of us, until one month ago, when I was still able to check the forum regularly) with the Gingerbread rom, now are having good GPS with ICS.
This was especially an issue for non USA people...... can anyone chime in?
Thank you!!!
Tony
Why opening a new thread for this?
Moreover why everyone opening one thread per one single, simple question?

I am in Canada and my GPS is working great.
I noticed this beaty of a keyboard for the Nexus 2012. I was on the brink of buying a nexus12 but I reconsidered and I'll wait for the N13 bext month (damn being dutch).
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows if this keyboard will be available for the N13 anytime soon. I like the fact it serves as cover aswell, and the design matches the Nexus perfectly. Not to mention great pricing.
I know what you're talking about but pics or a link would help your cause. Also contacting the manufacture would probably help (if you can find them).

They're available in only a few webstores and they don't inform about the manufacturer. Here's a pic.

Yeah, I have this case. Definitely wont snap in to the new n7. It still pairs no problem.
It wont stand in portrait, you have to turn it over(usb port doesnt let it sit right on the bottom) and it wont sit landscape as it's too long by maybe 1/4 inch.
