thanks
In WM2003:

THanks
er, what I have here is default ringtone for the event/message.
How can I use my personal ringtone in My Document\---?
I never tried it, but what if you overwrite a default tone (stored in rom so not so easy to change or delete) in \windows and assign it to the event? You can overwrite rom files & restoring is dead easy just delete the ram file!
I tried it with Alarm4.wav & replaced it with a mp3 the 'preview' didn't work. Got no wav at the moment, so you have to give it a shot yourself.

HI,Oltp
I have got a few .wav HERE
But, I have no idea which fold under the windows\ I should put them in.
You know we can only change the ringtone from the default fold but browse from other folds.
So, which fold you have tried before?
try overwriting \windows\alarm1.wav
Ok This works, I got home and put a small .wav over the \windows\alarm4.wav my default for reminders. It previews ;-)K
Tested it with a scheduled appointment, works t
Now it's your turn,

HI,just try.....
but I cant find the \windows\alarm4.wav
or any similar alarm.wav under the \windows FOLD
are they under any specific fold after \windows
I use 2003SE as well
cheers
What kind of browser are you using? I don't see them with my PC explorer via Act.sync & using resco exporer with the option 'hide files in rom' there invisible too.
The normal ppc file explorer shows them & resco of course when you uncheck 'hide files in rom'.
They're in \windows no sub folder. Names can be found in the event box too. I'am sorry don't know how to be more specific than, just go to \windows with the default ppc file explorer.
Cheers, M
Any wav will do
Hi Exec,
It's even more simple, just put your .wav in \windows & you can select it in the list-box of the notifications tab. So no need to look for existing wav files.
Tried it myself & it works.

I used to use a default system sound called "Startupsound" or something similar as a reminder for missed calls and SMS's. It sounded like 4 soft rising notes on a marimba or vibraphone in a scale. Does anyone happen to have this sound laying around or know where I can find it? I'm using vp3G's ROM, and I'm assuming it was removed as "bloat". Can anyone with a stock WM5 or WM6 ROM grab it for me? Thanks in advance!

Nope.
when you extract the .zip file the extracted file is hidden.
Does anyone have the original ringtones from HTC Touch HD extracted? They are in windows directory (some in windows\rings) with extension WMA or WAV. I have now HD2 and the ringtones are different. I miss the one that I'm used to - I guess it was like Ring-Guitar3.wmi or similar...
Can anyone who still has HTC Touch HD extract the alerts and ringtones from Windows and windows\rings directory? Thankx
I've just extract them from \Windows\Rings\ .
Is that correct ?
I've transfer all folders on my computer, so i hope this archive is what you need.
If it doesn't, tell me the directory you're searching for and i'll upload it.

Yes, that's it, but the rest of them are (like I said) in root windows directory (i myself don't know why two places...). Can you add the ones from windows directory please (WMA, WAV)? Thank you... (BTW it has to be HTC Touch HD, I don't know why, but other models have different ringtones)
I've search in all directories, i'm sorry, the pack i've post is made with all rings or tones i've found
Oops! That audio files are probably dependent on the exact ROM version, I had extra czech version with different ringtones, pity... But thanx anyway ;-)
........................ (to be deleted)
That's what i've thought...
I'm using Topix 3.4.1 and i think that's the "problem", even if it's one of the greatest ROM ever

Hi all
i want to share this to you guys because i saw many guys with problems regarding that ,after u set custom ringtone it changes to "pure" again and no mp3s could be played until u restart your phone.
i found a little "trick"
needed : Advanced Configuration Tool v1.5
any ringtone in .wma
File explorer
so now put the .wma on your phone via zune
and then copy the ringtone from \My Documents\Zune\Content
to \My Documents\Ringtones
Done.
now u can find the ringtone under settings->ringtones.
tip: its NOT under "custom ringtones" and the ringtone u set may be named like a1.wma or something like this so watched out for the size of the file so u can find it easily.
just wanted to let u guys know , and sry 4 my english
