Had been searching through all these forums.. but still cannot get an exact correct answer.
1) How to upgrade the O2 mini from 2003 to WM5? Can someone please provide a step-by-step instructions please?
2) What is so good about WM5? I seen lots of people wanted to upgrade to it although it was causing so many problems..
3) I see lots of different kind of upgrades, like blue angel, Himalaya .etc.. may i know how to differentiate my O2 mini is belong to which group? from IMEI code?

It's a standard blueangel with a slightly thicker screen surround, - I believe there are many topics in the wiki. Perhaps you should do a search?

Hi all,
I have a O2 Zinc which is a chinese version. I'd like to flash it to a English version, any1 know how to do so?
I have both the chinese rom and english rom. The program checks the language of the phone, so i couldn't do it by running the english rom installer.
is there any way to cheat?
buddy, i might not be able to help you but can you tell me from where you got the ROM, coz i don't know whether Zinc is Wizard, Hermes or what... i tried both of them but couldn't flash

zinc is none of the above, it's not made by htc, i think it's asus but not sure - anyway it is not on this forum

any possible sources that can be outlined?
It is made by ASUS, you can find "Asus" in registry.
I'm looking for the way to upgrade the Rom from Chinese to English as well.

Hi, having just read your other posts, I must point out a few things to you.
1 - This forum is for phones made by HTC the reason this site is called XDA Developers is because o2 were the first company to release their products, and o2 re branded them.
2 - (Due to point 1) There will NOT be a forum for the Zinc as it is made by Asus
3- You can NOT flash a ROM for anything made by HTC to a Zinc. And it sounds like you would have big trouble if you tried anyway, for example G3/G4 can only refer to a Wizard or Prophet made by HTC.
4 - There is a lot of stuff on this site which is good for non HTC products, so people who own a Zinc will still be hanging around, and may eventually post a new ROM, however if it requires unlocking etc... is another matter

yes, get the 838 (hermes) if you can

got my 838 pro..
took 1 day for me to read the wiki and did what it tells...
Now its pretty Cool... upgraded to everything i shoud do..
Better.. Much better than ZINC... tnx for the advice

I have a i-mate 2003 version i would liek to upgradeto WM6 can i do it? if i can how shall i go about it? can somebody help me in this regard.

you have to be more spc imate made alot of pda's which came with pocketpc2003

I am not sure which version of i-mate. But I have i-mate sp3i, and I upgraded to WM6. Go here for instructions.

Hey guys. Just been talking to a mate of mine who I sold an old JAQ3 to a while back.
Turns out he wants to upgrade it to WM6 from WM5. I've had look about and it appears i-mate announced the release of an update sometime ago but have never released the actual ROM.
Now I understand the MWG Ubiquio 501 is practically the same phone just under a different name and MWG have released a WM6 update for it.
Was just wondering if anybody had any ideas of how to perhaps Hard-SPL or U-SPL the JAQ3 to allow it to be flashed with the 501 ROM. Alternatively, are all WM bootloaders the same (or at least similar) and if so, is it maybe possible to SD-Flash the JAQ3 with the 501 ROM file?
Any advice would be great! Thanks!
