After a deep thinking and consideration I thought I need to benchmark the market -or in this case the Forum. I have been having Jasjar (Universal) for quite sometime now and was not so sure whether I keep it or not.
Every span of couple of months new device is launched with this feature or that benefit. Many that have proved functionality and other proved to be a total disgrace to the ppc industry
And since I am a member in this forum for almost over a year now, I wanted to ask all -at least who will visit this thread- how many of those are using Universal and those who are using other devices ranked in this Forum? If any would -thankfully- be coming up with serious statistics of the wide use of Universal vs. other devices and brands this would definitely indicate the global domination of such device and the versatility not to mention that with the latest ROMs this device became more and more dearer to me as much it is to others -I reckon so!
I am sure this would help all those programmers to focus more on developing roms and apps compatible with Universal than others. I would ask anyone who reads this post to contribute in voting and comments would surely be appreciated.

Why not start a poll?
Universal
Hi Cyber-mate
To let you know; I do love my Universal and I'm using it 24 hours a day!
So I think I'm the first who answers your question
'Yeah... Lets start a poll'.
Cheers, Leo
Hi Cyber-mate
Have to say, I have persevered with the Universal, and that since the genius rom builders on here have cooked up some of their magic I am at last a happy Uni owner. I bought mine in Sep/Oct of 2005 and I can honestly say now I find mine usefull. I'm not a heavy user, but it is my main squeez (so to speak).
Regards
Mavrik
The reason there are so many devices, is because the market can support them as different people like different things.
There is no such thing as the best device, or the perfect device, it's what you think suits your needs the closest.
Currently, the Universal is the highest specification device, but soon the Athena will be out, but this is much larger, and not designed as a mobile pda phone, and also the Omni, which is the replacement for the Universal.
Really though, if you like your Universal, then great, if you don't, then listening to other people's views on what is good or bad will only confuse you.
We like the Universal, but there are many more that hate it.
I love my unversal too, and I think I keep it until I can get an Apple iPhone.
Or maybe I never change it to another device, because it has all thing in one, except GPS. But I can live without it, still we have BT GPS on the market.
Confused!!!...
Not sure what you want!!!...
Benchmark PDA? Yes I like my Universal!!!...
Benchmark Forum? Yes this is a good forum!!!... Of course, somethings are not allowed here but can be found somewhere!!!...
Benchmark self cooked ROM? This is definitely the best before WM6 starts to be banned!!!... If this banned forever, well one good thing less!!!...

You see CWKJ, there are 100s of opinions from 100s of poeple. However, being a person among a large comunity that consider Universal as a gr8 device that has got the all-in-one! I mean, just check any of those posts with a ROM related topic, you'd see more than 100k entries and with no doubt this indicate that it is widely used and YET proven to be a
top-of-the-list device.
I am sure many more would agree with me and to tell you the truth, Apple IPhone is a pansy one.
We are talking FUNCTIONALITY here and not looks and colors! A device that can connect wirelessly, bluetooth, camera, keyboard and many others proves to be a true Pocket PC.
And hey, one more thing, when we talk about a Pocket PC, we aint talking mobile phone, I mean apple to apple
Hi,
about the Universal, I have to say it's a wonderful device which can be very useful and helpful. Thanks to its VGA display you can browse Internet really well not like those other devices with smaller resolutions.
The "laptop alike" makes it again very useful to write anything, even long texts.
I think about it more like a little laptop replacement (...ok the OS is not really a good OS replacement but I guess this would change with Linux...). It's another way of PPC, since I got my Hermes (about two weeks ago) I see how it's different, I use the Hermes with just one finger (almost everything) while I don't use the keyboard too much....on the other hand with my Uni I almost did everything with the keyboard.
So now with these two devices I have to say I use the Hermes as an "stable" PPC and the universal to try every new ROM is created, I'm trying to learn how to cook them, etc so now I think I'm enjoying the Uni even more!

I purchased a TyTN (T-Mobile Vario II) around six months ago and I was pretty pleased with it. It wasn't perfect (for example, I couldn't re-connect to the Internet without a soft reset) but it was pretty good.
After a lot of hesitation, I upgraded the radio (1.41) and OS (Black 2.5) about a month ago. A couple of days ago I upgraded the OS to Black Shadow. Tonight I added the SMS "fix".
I now believe that I have the best communication device in the world. Seriously. It's wonderful. The functionality is outstanding. I can do almost anything I could possibly want to do with a phone/PDA. E-mail, texting, surfing, phoning, Skyping, gaming, voice recording, reading (Word, PDF), presenting (PowerPoint), photography etc. Did I mention Internet sharing? I can now connect my laptop to the 'Net from almost anywhere in the world.
The only drawbacks that I can see are that it looks a bit like a brick (only because it has a full QWERTY keyboard - which I love), the battery only lasts one day at a time, and it can be a little sluggish at times.
Nothing else comes close and whenever I look for something better I always come away seriously disappointed - and that will include the iPhone when it comes out. We're probably using iPhone v2 (3G, programmable, video calling, Internet sharing, Office compatible, etc.) right now.

Enough people ***** about their phones in these forums. I for one am glad to hear a success story once in a while.
I think it's a great phone, perhaps the best of the last generation, but there are new toys coming out that show incremental improvements in the technology.
But it's the programmers and hackers that really make Windows Mobile devices fly!
And, re "The best communication device in the world?", surely this is the wife's evil glare? Never fails to get the message over to me, tout suite

Although my X01HT is not the best performance device in the world, I think it's the ringt device for me.
I dont have a perfect phone or PDA. Nor do I want one.
Else I will never get to replace a new one every few months!
Yes, it's a great phone!
...but we still need to file that original post under "NooB-gasm"!
Perhaps we could start a special "H-TaCy" thread for these posts.
Just kidding.
You know, in this day and age with so many Prematurely-released feature-rich gadgets, the marketing teams usually win the consumers over and poor tech support kills all the hope of the devices reaching their potential. I've been had by ASUS a few times on PDAs/phones.
It's really nice to have a great group of people like we find here (who are putting in all the grunt work) who can help us GET OUR MONEY'S WORTH (SO RARE THESE DAYS!!), especially on the language-change issues!
_My_ thanks goes out to HTC for making good products and to the FOLKS HERE for making it great! It's quite possible he sort of meant the same thing. When the vibrator stops working, he may one day realize this.

Lol... be nice guys.
I have to say I was quietly smiling to myself when I heard about the Iphone's 3rd party development support - through Safari widgets. Yippee
I've said it before and I'll say it again - the Windows Mobile phones are great because people like the endless genii on this board make them great and customise the hell out of them.
HTC makes nice hardware, and the two together work well. Many OEMs make nice hardware now, look at the Japanese only devices for true innovation. But, Hermes is a nice, stable device. Shame about the GPS, it would have been near perfect (for its generation).

Perfect without GPS
Perfect? Well.... Well if it was faster, had 128 MB of storage. Had room for SD and MicroSD (4GB please) and if it had GPS, maybe it would be approaching perfect.
Now Heather Graham is perfect! http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001287/

I agree with some of this... ample RAM and an 800Mhz CPU would suit me. Add GPS and a 5MP camera and it would be my perfect device.
Ohh yeah and a mini projector built into the top of the phone so I could aim it at a wall and project my films so I had a larger view!
I would like the top projector on the device to project on air rather than the wall as well as would like TyTn to perform as a new "surface" where u can just put any bar coded device on its screen and have all the contents sorted out...plus I would also like it to work as a fax and also GPS and so the list goes on and on...
In reality, I use it only for the voice calling and nothing else... and for that my nokia 3100 was perfect with 7 days plus battery life....
Sorry for the rant...
I've owned a couple of these HTC phones, formerly a Cingular/Siemens SX66, and also a small one by Audiovox...can't remember model but WM based, now got a Tmobile Dash.
All based on Windows Mobile, and my question is: HTC PHONES DO THEY REALLY WORK???
In the Forums I read nothing but problems, my experience's not good either. My first SX66 was defective, the replace froze way too often/needed reset (WM froze, CONNECTIVITY was POOR as it was on the Audiovox (I threw it against the wall and smashed to pieces) and STILL IS on the Dash..maybe not as BAD
I want to install a new language support on the Dash....doesn't seem to be possible
I "upgraded" to WM6 but I think I actually lost rather than gained in terms of versatility features and feel...
I'm thinkin of gettin a TyTn....but is it worth the aggravations and headaches, since I'm going to need to unlock and most likely extra language support for text messaging.....Is it possible to Add???
INPUT/OPINIONS WELCOME
THANKS
Sounds like you'd be happier with a iPhone...
Probably I'd be happier....
with an iPhone...if it was a 3rd Gen but still lags behind
BTW in the list I forgot to include the Treo 750....another flop...I've had it for some time and it's a waste
Just out of curiousity, what are you expecting from your phone? So far the dash has handled a lot of what I threw at it.
And yes, HTC phones work...at least as well as WM6 lets them.
I would recommend a title change for this thread. The question "do they really work" is a really stupid one.

Of course you're only going to hear about problems on forums, that's what they're there for: to find answers to your problems. People don't normally spend time praising something they own, there's no need for it.
As far as HTC goes, I have been pretty happy with my Dash. After getting all the nuisances tweaked, I can't picture the phone being much better.
PS - **** the iPhone. Worst device I have ever used.
PPS - I agree with changing the title of this thread. It is silly.
perhaps this is more the OP's speed?
I wouldn't get a Tytn.
I was so happy changing from a tytn to the Excalibur. There's still problems with the stability of WM professional vs WM standard.
Standard seems more robust and usable as a phone.
Also 3G on the tytn although is nice drains the battery.
I used to change phones every six months. The tytn only lasted 3 months before I was fedup with it. The excalibur is a phone which might actually be used for the full 2 year contract.
Well can't understand what's silly about the title, but the question is: 1) As with the "normal" Windows...xp-mill...etc" the OS suckes!!!
Microsoft spends so much money on developing but still SUCKS! keeps freezing and it's very unstable...I had so many fights with my GF because she couldn't hear me while using a "Blue Angel"..."this only happens with your phone...etc"
as for the connection quality these HTC if don't have a GOOD connection you're very likely to be stuck with an UNUSABLE piece of hardware.
I hate when the person next to me 's talking madly and I can't even connect.
Last but not LEAST, I think companies try too hard to limit/direct people's free choice! If there's a contract in force leave free choice how I want to use MY phone, therefore they ought to be HIGHLY CUSTOMIZEABLE...
In other words they only do a GREAT JOB @ screwing you around.
If someone 's satisfied with that, well...their choice...I know I'm not

In Short: Yes they do work
But I have had a HTC Blue Angel (SX66), Faraday (2125), Tornado (sp5m), Wizard (8125), Tytn (8525), Excalibur (dash), Treo 750, Star Trek (8500), Vox (s710), Cavalier (c730). All phone have some issues, but I can tell you seriously they work better than any other phone on the market. And you shouldnt be worried that people complain about them you should be excited that these phones give you the freedom to log onto a website like this in order to solve problems instead of just complain.
I had my cavalier for a month before all of a sudden I just upgraded it with full youtube integration because of this website.
Be happy you have a phone that gives you the ultimate ability to do everything.
Plus HTC knows how to make a phone teh sexy

If your computer freezes or gets blue screens it's 90% of the time your hardware that fails. And if you are so unhappy about windows xp then I suggest you use linux..see what you can make of that.
As far as i'm consurned the Windows mobile phones are quite customizeable as long as you have some sense of what you are doing.
IGNORANCE IS BLISS!
Hi to all you programmers, would it be possible for you to build a rom for the Artemis that will make it look and feel like an Iphone, i think it would be of benefit for the Artemis as it would use the touch screen system more, i have tried many diff, roms and would like to try an Iphone rom for my phone i would go out and by the Iphone but dont have that sought of money. any way i hope someone will let me know if it is possible to build an iphone for the artemis.
Sounds like combining a car and a motorbike and this is not a trike forum. Of course it's possible but you probably won't find any good chef right now that wants to do that. I suppose the best would be to cook it yourself.
apple are an even more closed software company then ms are
and the hardware is not the same
best you can hope for are the iphone skins i'd say
disgusting request, honestly. if you wanted an iphone, then sell your artemis and get the iphone. you don't list where you are, but if you're in the states, a used artemis isn't worth much less than a new unlocked iphone
You could try this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=349861 I haven't myself, sounds like folks say it's a bit slow on some devices but it looks promising for future versions. Not seen an Iphone in the flesh, but I have seen wm6 which without cooking has the most disappointing power to usability ratio, Iphone at least woke us all up a bit.
Problem too, is that "IPhone" is a registred trademark of Apple, the creator of Iphone like for our PDA, in Thailand, was requested to stop anything about "IPhone" creation. Naturally that was too late and there went source code many time downloaded fron his website. At this time there are many free application that look like "IPhone" and one that you can buy on the net is iLaunch.
Considering a Diamond to replace my Tilt.
Last Friday, PC Magazine reviewed the Diamond, highlighting its pluses and considerable negatives in this article:
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2321616,00.asp
Could any of the ROM developers or others in this thread address what, if any, of the negatives in the article are eliminated or mitigated by ROMs developed here, such as battery life, poor Touch Flo screen response & generally buggy, slow software? (PC Magazine is hoping that US version will be better.)
Regardless of response, thanks to all for really helpful discussions & commitment to bettering stock ROMs.
Hmm... crappy review
I don't think that's a fair review to go by, but then again, i love my Diamond . I think the Diamond addresses a different kind of user then say an iPhone would. I for example don't mind making a backup (which takes about 30 seconds), and then flash new ROMS. as for the downsides:
- Sluggishness: This is, as far as i'm concerned, all fixed in most recent cooked ROM's. I started out with dutch 1.34 firmware (or was it 1.35... i'm not sure... the slow one though), and eventually got kind of ticked off. Flashing New ROM and some minor tweaks fixed this
- Keyboard eating up half your screen: Well, some ROM's include a smaller keyboard, though you definitely need a stylus to work it (i have thin fingers, so i can pretty much operate the full keybord with my fingers).
- Windows Mobile visible in places: For day to day use you barely ever run into Windows Mobile. And for the places you do it's a small effort to put the font-size to a few pixels higher so that everything's readable and clickable with your fingers.
- Opera issues: bull****. Works perfectly. Recent builds even more so then the stock one.
- Speakerphone quality is crap: well... yes it is. but it's a speaker phone, whad'ya expect? 5.1 sound?
- YouTube locking up his handset for 65 seconds: never heard of it happen, have quite a few friends with this phone. Application is quite snappy actually i think, considering the amount of data it has to process.
- Little additional software: How's adobe reader, flash lite, opera 9, google maps, office mobile, standard games + teeter, album viewer, jblend java, htc zip and a youtube player sound as per standard?
All in all i think this is an immensely biased review, from someone who probably hasn't used it for more then 2 days. If you give it a week to get used to it and personalize/tweak it you'll love it (i do, previous phones include Samsung i600 and i320, HTC Touch, Orange SPV M600, Nokia N73, so i'm not exactly new to smartphones).
I've never experienced the bugs in Opera mentioned in the article.
Most of the cooked ROMs on this site are significantly faster than the stock 1.93 ROM. As a reference, I can say that the diamond in the article is said to score:
SPB Benchmark: 378.11
CPU index: 2258.69
File system index: 176.37
Graphics index: 366.36
The presently fastest cooked ROM (Swtos v.095) gives:
SPB Benchmark: 512,41
CPU index: 2290,21
File system index: 214,74
Graphics index: 1688,14
That said, my honest opinion is that the Diamond UI is NOT as responsive as the Iphone. A lot of people here hate the comparison, but as a happy Diamond owner, this is my verdict and everyone who has made a direct comparison will tell you the same thing. There ARE still minor hickups, waiting for apps to start and slight lag in the TouchFLO 3D. I hope these will be eliminated entirely, but we're not there yet.
I'm presently using SwiftBL 6.0 FULL, considered as a fast ROM.
Many of these reviews aren't helpful to be honest, they're just more of the tired old apples versus oranges debates by people who don't much like oranges.
I can sum it up thus:
There is simply no device on the market giving more punch per unit volume... and that is by some margin.
This is why I got one, and it's turned out my decision was inspired.
It does however have it's drawbacks, and this device certainly isn't for every one (at first I had to prime it for my wife when she pinched it to make a call), but love it or hate it, the WM platform is so versatile, and is so ultra configurable, that if you put the effort in you will be handsomely rewarded... I think mine's great!
Being the owner of both diamond and iphone 3g. The best advice i can give you is going for the diamond. Forget all the other crappy phones. well i just use iphone as an ipod + web surfin I knoe i could go for the ipod touch but i like to show off that is why i just bought it. But trust me mate TOUCH DIAMOND WITH A LATEST COOKED ROM KILLS ANYOTHER DEVICE IN THE MARKET.
PS: Oh well if you like keyboard then go for the Touch PRO which is better than diamond. I am just waiting for it to come on vodafone uk so i can upgrade my contract.
Ehm? What? Heh?
This must be the worst and most unbalanced review I have ever read.
His whole critique could have been replaced with "it's not an iPhone". And you know what, that's absolutely true!
I currently have a Raphael, Diamond and Kaiser in operation. My preference is in that order. (I'll take the Kaiser over an iPhone though).
If you're coming from the Kaiser, you will love the Diamond (though really the Raphael is the Kaiser replacement here, not the Diamond).

I'll have to go ahead and sort of ...disagree with you there!
I believe the review clearly shows why the Diamond isn't for everyone. The reviewer gives a very plausible view of the feature-hungry but regular Joe who just buys a cool phone in a store. This "Joe" did actually take the effort of upgrading the Diamond to latest stock ROM, but the quirks still left him frustrated and wanting.
The Windows Mobile platform and this great forum gives us power-users the means to address these quirks and that is exactly why I choose the Diamond over the Iphone. With the Iphone, you're left at the whim of Apple, who still more than a year later can't even offer something as fundamental as landscape typing, except in Safari.
Still, most users can't be bothered to go about the amount of modding that the Diamond requires to fulfill its potential. I'm a newbie still, yet I've spent countless hours reading these forums. I think we can agree, that kind of effort is not for everyone and that the Diamond without tweaks and with stock ROM, is quite a rough cut.
But, I have to give credit where it's due. When it comes to responsive user interface, the Iphone has raised the bar for ALL touchphones, and by a fair margin too. This is a good thing, comparing is a good thing - because it will make the industry and HTC to strive to adapt to the new standards.
The Diamond is a super device, I love it, and compared to other WinMo-devices it really excells too. But why is comparing it to the Iphone like Apples and Oranges? I think the majority of buyers in the market for a touchphone considers BOTH the Diamond and the Iphone, and probably the Omnia too. And all devices has their advantages and disadvantages, in the end it comes down to personal preference.
But still, wouldn't it be great to get the best features from all of them into one device?
So keep comparing and keep the whip on those developers! =)

Well you don't seem to disagree that much, you just use more words
On many points we agree, but that is because of the apples/oranges thing.
As I said, the Diamond is not an iPhone, and if mr average joe considers it to be one, that is their mistake.
The iPhone simply trades features and power for a sleeker UI. And though it is not there yet, WM will get this responsiveness as well. And it will not be HTC driving this, but rather MS themselves (mark my words). The slacking HTC is doing on many of its former devices and which is still partially there on the Diamond and Raphael will not be tolerated any longer. Though of course WM could be further optimized, do not forget that HTC can do all that the chef's can... they just don't
You actually say it yourself, you are left to the whim of Apple on many points, but in return you get a very responsive UI. This is just the other end of the spectrum from WM.
You will see, by the time the iPhone has the power of WM, WM will have the UI of iPhone. The only difference then is will you go with the Apple and still let all the decision be made for you, or will you go with MS and decide yourself what you want your device to be?
Yes, it would be great to have all those things. And we will. Just not yet
Thanks, everyone, for the quick and substantive replies to my question. The multiple perspectives are really great and are one of the valuable aspects of these forums.
Ive had my Diamond for almost 2 weeks now. I must say... after the excitement of taking it out the box, to being bitterly disappointed with the sluggish UI (to the point that I actually took it back to the dealer and asked for another phone), I must say that after discovering this forum, things are looking much rosier.
I'm slowly but surely starting to , as someone previously said, unlock the potential of the diamond and starting to like it again.
If you are expecting an iphone-like device, don't get this phone unless you are willing (and have the time and skill) to customise it. Its going to be a frustrating journey for you if you don't.
If you've already owned a wm device, you will probably love it (after customization)
There may already be several threads in other sections discussing this anticipated update, but I thought why not. Happy New Years Ladies and Gentlemen.
Microsoft has stuck to their slogan "Early 2011".
The little blue birdy however flew a little closer to sources and overheard "January".
As of now, the update has not yet been released obviously so this gives us all the opportunity to discuss some of our individual expectations from this upcoming update. You may have heard, there may be several updates, not only one.
Let's try not to get too loony but in all seriousness, when I first purchased my HTC MOZART with WP7 I did so without much research and maybe too much faith in Microsoft.
I thought MAC - PC, IPhone - WP7
I can tell you all now, I was severely traumatized by my experience when I first discovered I couldn't customise my ring-tone. With tears still pouring down my face, and Chevron still non existent, I went to Copy and Paste something. It was then that I learnt that the World had already ended.
Now like I said, we can't expect too much but I just want to state what I personally believe and after some scrutiny of my opinion wisely believe I'm in the position to state several of the most 'CRUCIAL' changes that need to take place ASAP on WP7. The severity of leaving these features out has already taken on another dimension. Some features were intentionally left out for future profiteering and others simply because the potential of such features could be exploited in unexpected ways.
Taking this path however has led some of Microsoft's most loyal customers questioning the developmental plans and reasoning's behind a number of decisions.
You have to think, these phones aren't toys. These phones (due to the mandatory specifications Microsoft has set) pack quite a powerful punch in terms of processing capabilities. The true capabilities of these technologies seriously can be quite dazzling. For one reason or another, unfortunately such open technology will probably never fall into the hands of the masses.
However, they seem to have gone a bit too far with the intentional tampering of functionality and the unprecedented level of scrutiny has left Microsoft scrambling to find the excuses, and forced them to re-think their relationship with their customers.
Julian Assange is here questioning which governments are responsible for all these dead civilians and we need to seriously point exactly at the people in charge (Governments - Developers all the same) and demand why, with the level of power they hold, the technology, funds and potential they have access too, are there basic features missing on these GOD DAM PHONES!?
One might state, "If you don't like it, then go somewhere else!"
Well "NO!" is what I would say. Why am I being forced to use outdated technology just to enable me to change my ring-tone! It seems the more we human beings accomplish technologically, the less we are able to utilize it with some common sense. One step forward, two steps back!
It is these corporations that hold the responsibility and have the obligation to set a standard with technological advancements. They are the leading manufacturers, researchers and developers enabling the wonderful standard of life we all possess today. BUT, you have to remember, the people at the front end of these achievements need to be held accountable when a phone shows up on the market that doesn't allow one to change their ring-tone! We as a group of human beings are able to discuss and elaborate. If we are standing here in 2011 with a phone that doesn't allow one to change their ring-tone, we need to stop and start wondering what the hell is going on.
"Yes, I just payed top dollar for one of the most advanced phones out there! So advanced you don't need to change your ring-tone, you just select one out of a list! HOW INGENIUS! "
"Yes, I just payed two million pounds for a luxurious house! It's so freakin high class and luxurious it doesn't even have any DOORS OR WINDOWS!"
See the similarity?
Please Microsoft, give me my Ring-tone back. Give me the Flash Player I deserve. Give me my Landscape Address Bar in MIE. Give me my Multitasking. Give me my Copy/Cut & Paste. Give me my Media player that allows me to Fast Forward/Rewind with my own fingers. YOUTUBE BY HTC DID! Give my USB storage functionality! After all, there is a memory card in there! Give me a voice on my Maps to let me know when I have to turn. Do something about this 'SEARCH' button please. It keeps interrupting me on practically everything I try to do on the phone. At least create a locking mechanism or even give me the option to use it for something more USEFUL! BING IT OFF. Get it?
Anybody else with any realistic functions they believe is a basic requirement? If so please name them.
When the Update is finally released, we can further elaborate on the improvements. I'm sure there will be improvements. WP7 can do better!
Best Regards, Dontworry
Man if only Bluetooth file transfers could be added in the update..
I have a samsung i780 for 2 years already
I lost my mind and bought one HTC HD7 without researching
Please microsoft, do not make me regret more than I already am
it's sad that I feel better with my old i780 with a fake copy of WM6.5
listen to this man, makes us happy.
Guys you must not compare it with the win 6.x phones. Please jsut think about the potential and look at what you do with this phone instead of what it can't.
I jumped from my beloved pimped qtek 9000 to HD7 and i must say.....even if the qtek is so yesterday .... but the WM 6,5 with working bluetooth-Garmin XT and other cool features was untill today way better than WM7.
I Understand that the 7 software is still in developement, but it is not yet worth the money, the time that i invested just to find out why the bluetooth wouldnt work and so on and so on.
I honestly believed that it would be a realy woooooow phone but it is not. So far it is an overpriced not so usefull dissapoitement.

Well 4 starters........it would be very usefull if it "could" establish a bluetooth connection with my qtek or for that mater with my hp laptop. That would be wooooooow. On the other hand it cant do much more than a HD2 with a pimped WM 6,5.
Search key really annoy my Mozart
Double click or confirm or somethings for HOME (Start) key in running applications
I want Proximity sensor to disable all key when cover with somethings else
(in running applications)
sorry for my poor ENGLISH
guys u are wasting time and space on XDA by creating those use less threads.... there are so many out there...
i feel so sorry for those ppl who buy things with out knowing what they are getting and then B#%@& about it like a girl... no one put a gun to your head to buy a WP7, u did it with the free will...
and come on i gave up on the Samsung i780 in 6 months as it was a mistake i made buying, which i corrected by getting a HTC Touch Pro. the screen was crap as the touch penal never work... the screen size did not allow me to run so many apps, it was so slow... so if u have used i780 for 2 years u should be glad that u bought a WP7 device as its smooth and fast..
CES is around the corner and i think the update will be launched there....

come on u want to compare WP7 devices with your qtek..... u must be kidding me... is that company still making PDA???
i am using HD7 since the frist week of its launch... and as i have unlimited data plan i can send all the files by email, so no need to file transfer, my photos are sent to my sky drive so any one with access can view or download it.
a house so luxurious it has no windows..... wow great place to throw stones huh... just sayin... plus i agree nobody twisted anyones arm to buy one.... the fanboys need to stop cryin like girls... and i can say that... im a girl...

I dont want to compare anything and it wouldnt be fair, but on the qtek the bluetooth worked and with WIMO 6,5 by Tomal it was fast.
Oh and i dont need a phone for sending some pics to a sky drive to show them to other people. A working bluetooth would be fine.
Oh and changing ringtones too.
Get the point?
Adobe reader also.....more for a job thing than sending photos. The qtek made a hell of a job there regarding my buisiness.
So the post with the lux house....is not so far fetched after all :-D:-D:-D
cut it off guys
if you dont like it, you can just find more suitable phone for you
but be sure that you do some research on that phone before you buy
and stop whinning about this is not good compare to that...blah blah

Yeah, you are right. And it seems that soon many people will do so as downgrading mobile computer (which was any WM6.x device) to just fancy phone is not what the people doing real job with the phone are expecting. I'm just waiting for the WP7 update and if it does not contain the mandatory tethering ... bye-bye WP7. Too expensive toy ... that does nothing

Well it does everything a Phone should.... your expectations are obviously higher then this.
Mine does everything I need, after coming from iPhone 4 and Desire HD there isn't anything in particular that I miss. Yes, it doesn't have all the same features but that's the same with any platform you choose.
