If you had searched with yor thread-topic at google, you had found expansys in nearly each country.
but their price is an unbounded cheek for a little piece of plastic
battery cover
expansys is only round the corner from me. i just thought that it being o new that they wouldn't have the back cover in stock.

My O2 Orbit's casing badly need replacing.
Anyone tried the replacement casings on ebay?
are they the real deal i.e. original?
thanks
Hi we have tried the ones on Ebay that cost about £15.00. The cases are ok quality, but are made from a thinner plastic. The main difference is that they do not have the "2.0 Mega Pixels" writing on the back around the camera. The battery casing sometimes lifts slightly at the bottom edge.
They are ok especially if you are keeping it in a case or pouch, other wise i would suggest paying the extra for the originals which are about £30.00.
thanks so much for your comments
I should only be needing a replacement front so the back wont matter so much.
cheers
Hey guys,
So ive been doing a little research since i got my Desire... and notice that i am not alone with my complaints about the back cover.
When i first got my Desire... i took it out of the box, pull the back cover off (correcty), then put battery and SIM in, put the back cover back on (correctly) and was a little bummed to see that it wasnt fitting... correctly.
Not a huge problem, but a little annoying.
After reading a bit online... ive been finding that some people are experiencing the exact same issue i am (back cover popping out .5-1mm in top corner), while others are praising the back cover for its perfect fit.
anyway... i finally bit the bullet and decided to order a replacement OEM cover off ebay - $35. received it the other day, and it fits perfectly. all snug, smooth and flush.
perhaps i had damaged the original cover in the beginning, or maybe it never fitted well (didnt notice before i removed it for the first time). It could have been badly moulded during manufacture - or whatever.
so if your having this same problem with the back cover not fitting, try getting a new cover (note that if there is a problem with a certain batch of the covers - badly moulded/deformed.... you might get another lemon).
good luck guys.
cheers.
My cover came off when I dropped it, tried putting it back on (when drunk). After fitting it I noticed a bulge and gap between the cover and phone casing. It bugged me for days and I was finally going to get a new one when I looked carefully and noticed one of the anchor points/clips inside the cover was folded in.
I must've tried to force it on causing the clip to fold inwards instead of popping over the phone casing clip. Simply used my nail to lift the clip and the cover snapped on perfectly, has done ever since.
Hope this helps.
some people on some other forums had commented that their reason for the case not fitting was due to the plastic clips being folded down.
They mentioned they had managed to fold the clip back into the correct position without breaking it, and after that the cover fitted well again.
this was not the case with my cover, i had examined it and the inside back of the Desire very closely... and couldnt find a reason to explain the mis-fit.
Thanks a heap for your reply mate, glad you no longer have this problem.
just happened to see this, check it out. if it's not genuine, it looks pretty close doesn't it?
Anyway, at that price, you really can't complain haha

$16 for a back cover?
For that price, I'm going to guard the one that comes with the phone with my life.
Might as well just spend a little more and get the official Samsung flip cover case which replaces the back cover.

I don't think is very cheap for the back cover, because the back cover of the Note is not something that worth a lot. ( my thinking)

you'd be surprised at how much companies will charge for replacement parts. nokia AU tried to charge me $60 for a replacement back cover for my n900, and the only thing unique about it was an integrated kickstand.
Hmm... I might have to get this. May have been a bit rough opening my Note's backcover once and since then there's a bit of creaking/flexing on the side of the cover closest to the volume keys. Fairly sure the creaking wasn't there before and it's annoying atm.
Stick a square of padded tape beneath the cover where it creaks

The N900 back cover actually has the spring-loaded lens cover that launched the camera app, so its not exactly THAAAT simple. I know, I tried to fix mine when I dropped it and the lens cover wouldn't open smoothly anymore.

the camera cover was actually quite simple. the spring is just a spring. if you look on the back cover, theres a black/white strip that moves when you move the lens cover. theres a light sensor near the camera that is aimed at this strip and is used to detect when the cover is open or not. still not worth $60.

I thought about that. The problem though is that area appears to be one of the places where a lot of heat is generated when the phone is getting stressed (ie. playing intensive games), and the last thing I wanna do is reduce the cooling capability of the Note, particularly with summer around the corner.
Anything over 10USD for such a back cover is a theft, I'd expect to find a decent replacement for 6-7USD given the material.
I paid more than 10USD for a spare back cover of my HD2, and that was *metal* with epoxidic colouring. OEM producers are going crazy selling plastic pieces for that kind of price.
I'll pay for $15 for a white back cover that doesn't make noises, not for the creaky black one that makes noises as you hold it.
This case is a hot seller. I may order soon. anyone ordered this? do you recommend it?

Ordered a black and a white last week. Lets see how they are, not too bad for a few bucks though.
The original flip case is a back cover replacement but these are shells that you add to the back so it makes the phone feel thicker. Also, something to note is that when you flip the cover around you are going to cover your camera. And also when its closed you cant see the notification light.
I bought the original from best buy, but didnt realize those issues and returned the cover the next day. ALSO. For those who actually buy the original samsung flip cover, once you install it its VERY VERY HARD TO REMOVE, I had to work hard not to scratch my phone trying to get that thing off. Very disappointed with it.
And on another note, I hear that the wireless charging will be a battery cover replacement accessory, so such large back shells may interfere with the charging. I'm going to hold out till the wireless charging is released.
Hey guys,
so I'm planning to buy another back cover (Pebble Blue), but the only one I found is i9300 version back covers of this phone, will this effect NFC in any way? Or is it just a back cover? Don't know, I read a previous thread and they were talking about NFC and battery cover so I didn't really want to buy a new one (Which is not cheap by the way ) and end up having to keep it on the side. Reason why I want a new one is I dropped my phone today, but the back was just scratched at the top corner on the battery cover, and I'm planning to get Ghost Armour soon, so I want a perfect condition before putting it on. Is Ghost Armour worth it? If anyone happens to also find a back case for under $10 please do tell, that would be awesome, but I've had no luck.
This is the wrong section, should be in accessories.
This has been discussed in great length. Here's is one of the many threads.

The NFC is in the battery, not the battery cover. Metal back covers could/will interfere with it.
