SIP No 5 problem - P3300, MDA Compact III General

Hi all, I have SIP No 5 software which basically let's you write in Chinese language on the screen, it adds the option at the bottom where your keyboard/transriber options are. Anyway, I used this on my o2 exec with no problems. Tried it on my Orbit, installs fine, executes fine but it is stuck in vga mode which means it is MASSIVE infact TOO BIG for the screen. Is there any program which can force it to qvga mode? Or even better, does anyone have a qvga version they can send me?

TOMTOM 5 shows no keyboard on screen ???

I installed TomTom 5 on my qtek 9090 and when I choose navigate to address there is no screen keyboard. I think it detected the external keyboard and therefore is not showing it.
Anyway to get the screen keyboard working ?? :?:
 Try the following...
In register of PDA..
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Shell
Change..
HasKeyboard value from 1 to 0
To get to the register u can use the following app.
Registry Workshop from http://www.torchsoft.com
Install this on your PC and use file / Connect to register of mobile device
(Active sync must be connected to the device
Good Luck!
No luck
Didn't work
Changed > softreset >no keyboard

I have the same prob with TomTom 4.4 and my Qtec 9090.
Hope someone comes up with a fix.

I have the same problem with TT5.
I have asked the fench support of Tomtom and they replied to me that there was no issues for this at that time.
It is due to the fact that tomtom developpers have made the choice to consider the QTEK 9090 or similars like a Keyboard PPC (like HP6500 or Treo 650) to limit the number of version... that's what they said ...
As the QTEK 9090 do show a virtual keyboard on Street Number search or on reg screens and not on Town or Street name sreens, i do think that there is actualy a bug on QTEK 9090. It is also disapointing to try to type a poste code search with the hardware keyboard as when i press the "Fn" key i got a nice "Ñ" or when i press the "Shift" i got a "Ò"...
I think we should send a lot of request to the Tomtom support to have a chance to see an update in a future relaese (It could be an option whithin the parameters for exemple...)
...
Hi,
It was even worse in my case (I upgraded my Rom 1.22.556 to 1.40.553 since release of new Dutch retail a few days ago):
- As already mentioned the Registry hack (see reply from DVB4Free) works only for 4.4 version and not 5.0. I am still looking for a work-around to get my on-screen keyboard back while I wanna type a location/street to navigate to.
- Despite the fact I am using TomTom bluetooth receiver, I can't get my Qtek9090 connected to TomTom as long as I select the TomTom BT icon in wizard interface. After a lot tries I figured out that it only works if I select the 3th Icon (general bluetooth receiver) and not the second icon (the small silver color TomTom BT receiver). Isn't this odd?
- My 'Navigate To' item in Contacts popup menu is gone for good. It was working on TomTom 3.07 (and even on 4.4 so far I can remember). But since upgrade to v 5.0 I can't navigate to someone's address from my Contact list.
regards,
- Avareh
on screen keyboard
DVB4Free, dude is there nothing you can do to fix this problem? I tried it on TomTom 4 and it worked fine, after altering the key from 1 to 0 it worked. I have an XDA 2s and now I've just installed TomTom 5 I can't navigate to anything!
Cheers!
Anyone had any luck with this yet?
Peter
Success!!!

I have found that if you download the Great_Britain.postal file the Fn & Shift keys work ok so you can enter numbers
And also the added benefit of 7 digit postcodes, not sure about ppl who cant find a postal file for their own country though. But it worked for me so give it a try...
pscomp - I am new to all this  , but just got tt5 and I also have a MDA III. Can you explain what you did to get the keys working.. Thanks in advance...not sure what you mean about the download etc...wherefrom and where too?
Hi,
I can't remember where I downloaded the file from. Ive tried to upload it but I think the ftp is down :? . But it looks like it may be here ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Blueangel/
All you do is create a folder called zip on your SD card and put the file in there. That is assuming you are using the Great Britain Map. I will keep trying to upload the file though.
Hope this helps you
Yay, got the file uploaded.
All you should need to do is download the file, unzip it and then stick it in the zip folder on your SD card.(That is assuming you are using the Great Britain Map)..
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/
The file is called GreatBritain.zip

same happens to me when I install 1calc
I bought a new TT5 UK BT kit that arrived yesterday.
I (obviously) have the ZIP file on the SD card and I still don't have an onscreen keyboard. The odd thing is, I'm pretty sure I did have an onscreen keyboard during the installation, as I used it to enter my "home" location.
I've logged a bug report with TomTom, if they come back with anything useful I'll let you know.

how to get Stowaway BT driver work with WM6

I'm using HTC Trinity WM6 and wish to use my old Stowaway universal Bluetooth keyboard working? i cannot find driver for WM6. anyone have it?
please help!! i love my BT keyboard and wish to get it work again.
thanks
Attached is the driver I use for my Kaiser WM6/6.1, dunno if it'll work on your Trinity or not.
If not here is the drivers page: http://corporate.igo.com/support/Drivers.asp. Just choose your manufacturer and model.
Note that WM6 comes with basic keyboard drivers -- you only need to install a driver if you want to use special functionality such as customized keys. I use the built-in drivers on my Kaiser with a BT keyboard (not the Stowaway, but supposedly compatible).
htc tytn II and sierra bt keyboard
everybody,
trying to connect / use my new sierra bt keyboard with my htc tytn II and nothing works,.... if i go through the htc the keyboard is detected, asks for a security code, does not recognise the one i put in, (although the instructions say pick one of your choice), and does not connect.
if i go through the keyboard CAB installed on the htc, still cannot connect,.... i am not exactly a 'newbie' but if someone could give a step by step direction on how to get this to work, i would be very grateful,....
thanks,
ek
sorry everyone, i used elyspar's CAB file on my htc tytn II,.... thanks for your help,....ek
found a vid on youtube very helpful,.... it's actually quite simple to connect, so maybe i need to retract, i am a newbie,....
here's the link, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8HAge9yJu4
no functionality though, just basic input, good for emails / word, but limited,....
guess i have to install the driver on my kaiser somehow,....
Hi everybody, can you tell me which driver i have to install for my Niki? It's not on the list...
Thank you very much.

I could use an Apple Alu BT KB with HTC TyTN (not II). Paired. Without any special driver. Remember to press Enter on the KB after the code. Now I have a new Touch HD and I get it paired but nothing happens clicking on the keyboard...
I will start installing drivers which I find here suggested and will report.
iGo stowaway BT keyboard and WM6
Hello all,
I originally posted this message in a Blackstone forum, but as this problem probably relates to WM6 in general I thought I would post here
I have an igo bluetooth keyboard and I am using Blackstone phone (running the usual WM6.1 proffessional. I installed the igo software and everything worked fine except that phone crashed a lot. Not so useful. I then uninstalled the software and paired the keyboard using the onboard Bluetooth keyboard drivers. All worked well for one run through and I was able to type away. However I have not got the thing to work again since, even after re-pairing the devices. Does anyone haev any thoughts about what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks.
Tom
Hello Guys, partly not to the topic hear....
I have an igo stowaway keyboard and a travel mouse and i have been using them with my fusi n560 (wm 6.0). Now I bought a Nokia 5800 mobile phone with symbian s60v3 touch. The keyboard came with multiple driver including both wm and symbian versions, but the mause came only with wm driver. Now the question is: do you happen to know how could I use my mouse with my symbian device? Sorry for asking symbian related question here....
Special Characters and the Sierra Stowaway
I have previously used the Sierra Bluetooth Keyboard and it worked flawlessly on my T-Mobile Wing running WM5... I recently tried to port the same driver suggested by ek... (PPC5) to the T-Mobile HTC Touch Pro2, WM6.1.
It works on all keys, including the function keys, but cannot produce the specialty characters on the 5th, number-row, i.e., [email protected]#$%^&*()
Everything else seems to work fine... anybody come across a fix for this?
Thanks!
JSS
I've been interested in acquiring an Apple Wireless Keyboard for my PDA too.
But from skimming other people's post, looking at what was successful on the internet (e.g. the guy on youtube with the Mio who paired with the Apple BT Keyboard), it seems that all the success stories come from people running WM5/6
Anything 6.1 and above seems to not work in general, although you have some success stories like from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=486595
Has anyone successfully paired with 6.1-6.5?

I have similar problems with my Samsung Omnia, WM6.1 and the German Stowaway Keyboard (QWERTZ) with the driver 4.51.
Just the keys !$& are not working.
Could there be a workaround like using ASCI numbers?
I tried ALT+33 to get a "!" but had no success.
Does anybody else has some suggestions?
Thanks,
Sigi

I solved my problem:
I installed the English driver 4.52
(I have an English ROM and use a German Keyboard)
The driver was changed from version Ger4.51 to Eng4.52 on several places and I think they solved some Bugs.
I resetted my Omnia after the installation.
Because the problem still existed, I resetted the Omnia once again, while the Stowaway keyboard was selected in the keyboard menu.
After that reset all the characters worked like the should.
Hope that helps.

Celluon laser keyboard and "internal inconsistency"

I have installed the driver for wm6 for the Celluon laser keyboard onto the TP2
The programme installs, the Projector Keyboard appears in the list of keyboards, but when I try and search with Bluetooth for the keyboard I get an error message saying
"the security account database contains an internal inconsistency”.
Can anyone help?
(It worked fine on the Touch HD).
Thanks
A friend was clearing his house and throwing one of these away, he'd had issues getting it working with various pieces of kit. I've tried it on both the TP2 and Dual Touch and get problems with both.
On the TP2 I get the same internal inconsistency error and the dual touch won't even connect; despite the dual touch being on the official list of hardware. It's worrying that Celluon still only have WM 6.0 drivers and haven't updated to say whether they work on 6.1 (should do really).
same error message with the htc hd2 :-( i´m pretty angry....
can´t anyone help??
greets,
mike
worked on wm5 and wm6 (I believe)
Hey -
the celluon worked (albeit without the mouse ability) on the x51v wm5 (both widcomm and MS drivers) ... and I believe it worked as a keyboard on wm6 (CC20) rom... but now under wm6.5.3 (carbon omega arirreak rom) (MS bt drivers, i believe) it doesn't work. Won't even pair.
Such a shame that such a cool product can't support the celluon company. Are they broke? bankrupt? no updates, no responses to emails...
wish they would release the damn driver... or we could find a way to make it HID compatible... I'm going to switch to widcomm bt drivers... and give it a try.
-on a side not, apparently at CES this year they had a similar device, but instead of a fixed laser keyboard projection, they had a pico projector so you had a virtual 10" touchscreen projected... looked waaay cool!
prob not bt compat though...

memory map

I have been using memory map with no problems on an Ipaq, MDA vario, and HTC touch dual.
However, now ive upgraded to a touch pro 2, it seems to be giving problems.
Firstly, it usually wont open the maps, even though ive cut them down to about 56MB, is this still too large for wm6.1?
Secondly, what happens when I leave memory map running but turn the device off? Will it keep tracking like my touch dual did, or will it turn the gps off?
I'm having massive problems with MM on my TP2 as well. On my iPAQ HW6915, I could load all of the A-Z of London, no proboems; likewise, I could load large swathes of Regions 1, 2, and 3, in chunks, no problem. On the TP2, I can't even get a quarter of the size of those map chunks to load - I run out of space in RAM almost immediately. Not at ALL amused ISTR seeing somewhere that this is due to the RAM hogging of the TouchFLO interface - can anyone confirm this?
I have found memory map to be a good edition to my TP2. I have been on walks in the North Downs and around Swanage and have found it to very useful and accurate.
The maps can be a little tempremental but I find if I turn off and on again this seems to cure any problem. The largest map I have on my TP2 is 50.9mb.
maps
i am running mm on my touch hd with no problems try mm web site
I have had a reply from memory map explaining that wm6.1 can only handle data in smaller chunks, so I need to split the maps up into smaller sections.
However, I still dont know what happens when I turn the device off. Will it switch the GPS off or will it still keep tracking my position?
I have been using memory map on the TP2. I too had to chop my maps smaller than when using the Kaiser, but the bigger screen is likely to eat more RAM. For info, my maps open up to about 120M unless I have other apps open at the same time. I have re-chopped the maps with maximum 97M and don't have problems with multi-tasking, but then again, I don't have touch-flo enabled - nor do I use SPB Mobile Shell anymore.
Can't answer the question about tracking in suspend mode as I always put the handset in my pocket when it's suspended, so it loses the signal.
Is mine a different problem then because my maps wont open even though the file size is only 56.8MB?
HTC TouchFlo3d can cause problems with memory map as well, restricting the map file size further. Theres a few other threads on this (try in the HTC Touch HD forum).
I've found if i do a reset before running Memory Map i have more success. Disabling the 'Album' tab also helps.
i've just reloaded mine with smaller maps though.
Need to find a WM5 ROM to run on my old MDA Compact III (Htc artemis) so i can run it properly!
