Where is username password stored WM5?? - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hello
I am preparing a serval htc 's with wm5 (qtek 9000). In our extend rom i have put our own applications and settings as much as i can. what i can't get done is to store:
Username and password for our APN (gprs umts pap authentication)
(after a part of registry clone the username and password are blank ??!)
username/password option to set for active sync for push pull technology.
I think it is somewhere in a database and/or in the registry.
Any help is welcome
Thanks
Jeroen

Blackberry Connect - Manual Set the APN

Hi there,
I have searched the forums on how to do this already with no real success.
I have installed the extracted BB Connect software for T-Mobile onto my PDA2K, running ROM 1.40, and I am on the Canadian Rogers network.
The cab was named:
htc_pocketpc_tmo_england_2.0.0.25-18.cab
The installation runs fine and the PIN is generated correctly, however the APN settings are hardcoded to blackberry.net
I need to change this to internet.com and set a username and password of:
username: wapuser1
password: wap
Has someone been able to create an install that allows you to change this in the GUI?
Or, does someone know which DLL file this is set in so I can modify it in C++ or another DLL editor?
Or, can someone out there that knows how to do this modify the cab for me with those settings?
Cheers
Aaron
Actually, my mistake... I need to have these settings:
Rogers AT&T (Canada)
GPRS APN : blackberry.net
WAP gateway IP: 208.200.67.150
WAP gateway port: 9201
Cheers
Aaron
I've been able to modify the IP with a HEX editor and it connects and gets an IP.
However, it still doesn't sync. I wonder if the ports are incorect. It says:
Remote Port: 19781
Local Port: 19780
Not sure if this needs to be changed....

HELP MMS Configuration under WM5

Hi All
I've been reading all over the forums and searching for a configuration manual or something but I can't find anything! Please help me configure me device!
here are the settings but I don't know where to put them:
MMS Vivatel
Home Page------- mmsc. vivatel.bg
APN--------------- mms. vivatel.bg
IP----------------- 192.168.123.123
Port (WAP 1.X)--- 9201
Port (WAP 2.0)--- 8080
Username-------- "mms"
Password--------- "mms"
go to your outlook inbox
at the bottom of your screen on the right: tap on menu
than you get a popup screen where the bottomchoice should say "MMS Configuration"
tap on that, than you get three tabs. Choose for the "Servers" tab, add a new server and make it your default server.
that should do it.
i checked out my outlook inbox but it has no options for mms configuration... i lost all my mms after i upgrade to wm5 and now i dont know if i can still recieve them coz i have no mms inbox/outbox... can any body help pls?
Look in the BlueAngel Upgrading forum for tuma 1.3 upgrade. On that thread there's a lot of post on how to resolve this. What I used was:
To configure up your MMS Account do the following 13 step process:
1). Check that you have "MMS Configuration ..." available in your Outlook Menu. If you don't then something has seriously gone wrong. Did you install the "ArcsoftMMS-TuMa.cab" file through the EXTROM or manually? If not - do so now. MMS is NOT available in the Base ROM.
2). Click it, and just ensure that it comes up and is active. The about should say "MMS Composer Version 3.0.7.11"
3). Click [ok] and close it.
4). Menu -> Tools -> New Account
5). Enter "[email protected]" as your email (doesn't matter what). Click Next.
6). Detect settings ... wait ... Click Next.
7). Enter a username "mms" will do. Click Next.
. Select "MMS" as the Account Type. Click Next.
9). Incoming Server = "mms", Outgoing Server = "mms". Click Finish.
10). Finally ... click "NO" to not download mail for this account.
11). Now go back to Menu -> "MMS Configuration ..." -> Servers
12). Edit and modify the "Sample Server" to your required settings ... (which I can't help you with)
13). Presto ... you now have an MMS account.
10x
ok..but now my concern is..do i need the tuma romv1.3 installed before i can install arcsoftmms.cab? or can i just have this cab separately installed?
thnx again!
i don't know if you can install it seperatly, maybe you can ask this in the tuma 1.3 thread

How to create a cab for operator settings?

As I'm testing the different WM6 Roms I have to enter all the settings again and again and again. Now I'm thinking about creating a cab file with the operator and email account settings. But how to create it?

someone didnt take the time to search or RTFW
I saw the thread but not the cab file, sorry guys.
I would also like to know this...
CWW Enterprises Operator PDA Manager is great don't get me wrong, but by the time you install the software, download the operator lists etc, I can manually enter my own settings! and as I'm only interested in one network settings and one country, it would be far quicker & easier to have a cab file for the settings!
So, how can I create my own cab file?
so let me spoon feed you guys....

and when your done making your working cab add it to the wiki if its not already here

8525 WM6 MMS solution

If after upgrading your 8525 to a cooked version of Windows Mobile 6, you discover that you cannot send or receive any MMS' (even after hunting down the WAP & MMS setting for cingular/AT&T) Run this cab on your device. (install to Main memory)

NOTE: I notice that it changed the appearance of several setting's screens in regards to the Connections tab.
It worked for me. It might also work for other providers, Let me know...
Please include in your response:
-Manufacture and type
-Model No.
-Rom Version
Example:
Cingular 8525
HERM100
(20070326_RUU_Hermes_WWE_3.23.0.2_1.38.00.10)
Running a Cingular 8525/Herm100 on Black 2.0. On all WM6 ROM's I have been able to send and receive, it just gives me an 'error synchronizing' message whenever I try and do it manually. Everything eventually goes where it is supposed to though.
Was hoping this would fix that, but still works the same.
using wm6 black 2 on telstra australia with latest radio. worked on all accounts including lvsms.
so no "problem" here (once i got the settings and manually entered them, tweaked around and learned the hard way with hours of work).
My 8525 also works perfect sending and recieving MMS I have entered the Server settings so many times now i know them by heart sometimes i do have to play with the settings either changinf the port number from 80 to 8080 and changing it to use the internet or My ISP to send them.
I too suffered from the Sync Error message and could not get MMS to work. But I ran the CAB posted at the top of this thread and it now works. I tried everything and every setting that was mentioned, I tried every cab file and every fix I could find. (I know the settings by heart) Now for the big new, once I ran the cab the only thing that I could see that it changed was the last setting of kb's. Before the cab and what everyone said to set it at was 300 but after the cab it is now set at 600. I don't know if this is the change that fixed everything or not but I can tell you that now my MMS does work on my Cingular 8525 running the latest LVSW/26.
can someone please help with 3 Australia MMS settings.
Ive entered them all in, changed the user agent for arcsoft MMS software in the registry and i still cant get them to send or recieve with success & i get the error sync message too.
can anyone help me find the missing link???

Black 2.0
FWIW, I discovered I was having a problem with sending MMS today. I upgraded to Black 2.0 a couple of weeks ago, but I don't typically use MMS, and so I never discovered this problem before. I found this thread thru Google, and dowloaded the cabfile noted at the top. But I didn't install it. Instead, I took some hints from the name.
On my phone, I had already set up two non-proxied ISP accounts on my 8525 ... wap.cingular and isp.cingular. Of course, I also have the MediaNet Account that uses the proxy. I typically have my phone parked on the ISP account, and that's where I was having this problem.
Looking at the name of this cabfile, I decided to try the MediaNet (proxy) Account next. That wouldn't work either, failing continuously. So then I set my phone to use the wap.cingular (no proxy) account, and bingo, it worked.
As Owycx has noted in the second post (above), I DID get the "Error Synchronizing" message, but this message quickly disappeared and the MMS Message was sent out pronto.
So to those (Cingular) users who might be having this problem, you might be able to fix it without installing the cab ... just make sure you're using the following "Connections" settings:
Code:
Name: [whatever you like]
Modem: [B][U]Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G)[/U][/B]
«Next»
Access point name: [B][U]wap.cingular[/U][ /B]
«Next»
User name: [B][U][email protected] .COM[/U][/B]
Password: [B][U]CINGULAR1[/U][/B]
Domain: [blank]
«Advanced...»
«TCP/IP Tab»
(o) Use server-assigned IP address
( ) Use specific IP address
[ . . . ]
[ ] Use slip
[ ] Use software compression
[X] Use IP header compression
«Servers Tab»
(o) Use server-assigned addresses
( ) Use specific server address
DNS: [ . . . ]
Alt DNS: [ . . . ]
WINS: [ . . . ]
Alt WINS: [ . . . ]
Hope this helps,

Also what i have found that helps is go to settings> connetions> connections> advanced> select networks> make sure that the bottom matches the top setting that way it wont be switching networks for different things.
My MMS server is as follows.
Server name:
Cingular MMS
Gateway:
wireless.cingular.com
Port number:
8080
Server Address:
mmsc.cingular.com
Connect via:
My Isp(or what ever you set the name as in your connections)
Sending Size limite:
300K
Wap version:
WAP 2.0
these settings ALWAYS work for me. I never use the proxy settings that come with the cab for cingular for media net. even though i guess i loose some size of the message i can send from 600K to 300K its no biggy to me.

Password for ConnectionSetup provision.zip

hi folks, as some of you may have know that connectionsetup doesnt have Canada listed as the country. I'd like to add the settings into the provisions.zip but I can't figure out the password for the zip. There was an older archive that uses a password of 1234 but I don't really want to have the latest setting list. I was wonder if anybody could figure out what's the password for the attached file. I've tried bruteforce password recovery for all printable letters up to 5 char but still no success.

Well. Download "htc_connection_setup_1_5_37142_1.cab" and simply copy to your SD card or phone memory.
Execute and install it directly from your phone!!!
If you want, rename it before copy to your phone, so you'll have a shorter name, something like "Connection Setup.cab"
Bye

Wiki says:
symio is a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) since 29 January 2008 through the Orange network.
I'm italian guy and I don't know about this operator. I hope works with Orange settings but I'm not sure. Try and post your experience!
When I'll found a new database, even based on HTC HD or Diamond2, I'll post Connection Setup with new database.
