Just to ask if it's possible to view wap on internet explorer?I have ez wap installed just for wap,but if I could enable pie it would be more sensible.I think it's to do with proxy settings, but have tried most, and have searched for some time in forum.Any help appreciated. Thanks
Try using wsp:// instead of http://
If after upgrading your 8525 to a cooked version of Windows Mobile 6, you discover that you cannot send or receive any MMS' (even after hunting down the WAP & MMS setting for cingular/AT&T) Run this cab on your device. (install to Main memory)

NOTE: I notice that it changed the appearance of several setting's screens in regards to the Connections tab.
It worked for me. It might also work for other providers, Let me know...
Please include in your response:
-Manufacture and type
-Model No.
-Rom Version
Example:
Cingular 8525

Running a Cingular 8525/Herm100 on Black 2.0. On all WM6 ROM's I have been able to send and receive, it just gives me an 'error synchronizing' message whenever I try and do it manually. Everything eventually goes where it is supposed to though.
Was hoping this would fix that, but still works the same.
using wm6 black 2 on telstra australia with latest radio. worked on all accounts including lvsms.
so no "problem" here (once i got the settings and manually entered them, tweaked around and learned the hard way with hours of work).
My 8525 also works perfect sending and recieving MMS I have entered the Server settings so many times now i know them by heart sometimes i do have to play with the settings either changinf the port number from 80 to 8080 and changing it to use the internet or My ISP to send them.
I too suffered from the Sync Error message and could not get MMS to work. But I ran the CAB posted at the top of this thread and it now works. I tried everything and every setting that was mentioned, I tried every cab file and every fix I could find. (I know the settings by heart) Now for the big new, once I ran the cab the only thing that I could see that it changed was the last setting of kb's. Before the cab and what everyone said to set it at was 300 but after the cab it is now set at 600. I don't know if this is the change that fixed everything or not but I can tell you that now my MMS does work on my Cingular 8525 running the latest LVSW/26.
can someone please help with 3 Australia MMS settings.
Ive entered them all in, changed the user agent for arcsoft MMS software in the registry and i still cant get them to send or recieve with success & i get the error sync message too.
can anyone help me find the missing link???

Black 2.0
FWIW, I discovered I was having a problem with sending MMS today. I upgraded to Black 2.0 a couple of weeks ago, but I don't typically use MMS, and so I never discovered this problem before. I found this thread thru Google, and dowloaded the cabfile noted at the top. But I didn't install it. Instead, I took some hints from the name.
On my phone, I had already set up two non-proxied ISP accounts on my 8525 ... wap.cingular and isp.cingular. Of course, I also have the MediaNet Account that uses the proxy. I typically have my phone parked on the ISP account, and that's where I was having this problem.
Looking at the name of this cabfile, I decided to try the MediaNet (proxy) Account next. That wouldn't work either, failing continuously. So then I set my phone to use the wap.cingular (no proxy) account, and bingo, it worked.
As Owycx has noted in the second post (above), I DID get the "Error Synchronizing" message, but this message quickly disappeared and the MMS Message was sent out pronto.
So to those (Cingular) users who might be having this problem, you might be able to fix it without installing the cab ... just make sure you're using the following "Connections" settings:
Code:
Name: [whatever you like]
Modem: [B][U]Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G)[/U][/B]
«Next»
Access point name: [B][U]wap.cingular[/U][ /B]
«Next»
User name: [B][U][email protected] .COM[/U][/B]
Password: [B][U]CINGULAR1[/U][/B]
Domain: [blank]
«Advanced...»
«TCP/IP Tab»
(o) Use server-assigned IP address
( ) Use specific IP address
[ . . . ]
[ ] Use slip
[ ] Use software compression
[X] Use IP header compression
«Servers Tab»
(o) Use server-assigned addresses
( ) Use specific server address
DNS: [ . . . ]
Alt DNS: [ . . . ]
WINS: [ . . . ]
Alt WINS: [ . . . ]
Hope this helps,

Also what i have found that helps is go to settings> connetions> connections> advanced> select networks> make sure that the bottom matches the top setting that way it wont be switching networks for different things.
My MMS server is as follows.
Server name:
Cingular MMS
Gateway:
wireless.cingular.com
Port number:
8080
Server Address:
mmsc.cingular.com
Connect via:
My Isp(or what ever you set the name as in your connections)
Sending Size limite:
300K
Wap version:
WAP 2.0
these settings ALWAYS work for me. I never use the proxy settings that come with the cab for cingular for media net. even though i guess i loose some size of the message i can send from 600K to 300K its no biggy to me.
I have installed Schap's WM6 Pro 3.60a ROMs, but I can't use the voip thought wifi
I am using www.owtalk.com for the voip provider
I have input my
provider name:xxxx
user accourt: xxxx
password: xxxx
registrar address: sipb02.owtalk.com port 5060 UDP
Proxy address: (leave blank) port 5060 UDP
URIaddress: sipusername)@sipb02.owtalk.com
At the Today, it show out selected but cannot dial any number
Could you mind tell me how can i fix this?
A million thx.
Try to fill the proxy adress same as registrar, so :
registrar address: sipb02.owtalk.com port 5060 UDP
Proxy address: sipb02.owtalk.com port 5060 UDP
I have try to add the proxy before, but also can't.
Does any one success b4 by using this rom for voip ?
Thx.
Maybe some things don't work, because this is ROM based on development version of WM6. I suggest back to 3.54c, faster, more stable.
ok, I install 3.54c and try, thx

make the set up you must do the necessary set up for network and mobile data connection and you have to make this set up in the configuration status - maybe your provider sent you the automatic data or the cell-phone try to find them or you put the data in manually after receiving them from your provider. If you skip or jump over the item 1-8 in the configuration set up you come up with the wrong set up. So how do you put in the data?
hey thx for the qiuck answer
