HTC P3300 System tray icons - P3300, MDA Compact III General

Hi, i have a HTC P3300 and i was wondering if anyone knows how i can put icons on the system tray. for example i would like to put the tom tom icon on the system tray, so i dont have to keep selecting tom tom from the start menu.

iLauncher (www.sbsh.net) allows you to add icons/shortcuts to the system tray, along with many other functions.

Hi
i have assigned TT to the bottom left hand button so al i need do is press it to start tomtom..the button ismarked with a satelite type logo.

PHM TrayLaunch. I wrote one too, VJTrayLauncher, but the former is preferred.

Xda Orbit Devive lock Question

Hi i got a xda orbit, my question is on the orbit the are 3 icons on the bottom right hand side which are comm manager, battery meter and o2 setup i was woundering if there is any way to have the the device lock move to where the other icons are as a group
welcome
you'll need to use an app such as 'phm traylaunch' (freeware) or 'ilauncher' (not freeware) and place the icon of a device lock program in the tray, try googling for 'delta lock' or 'yet another device lock' ...
but basically read this forum, if you can think of the question, it's probably already asked and answered
Bottom right corner is generally called the Tray.
Use PHM Tray Launch or similar app to launch an app like Yet Another Device Lock.
I would use VJTrayLaunch to launch VJDeviceLock.
However, using VJDeviceLock you can make it automatically lock the phone everytime you switch off, so you don't waste even one icon to launch it.

thanx for the reply but my 3 icons are not on the tray but just above it on the right hand corner and thats where i would like to place the device lock.
in this screenshot the battery and comm manager icons are in the tray,
the soft key label is the lowest part with 'calendar' and 'contacts' on it

How to end "running programs"?

Hi,
The first time I used my XDA Orbit I found a way of accessing "running programs" by tapping somewhere on the "today" screen..........but I can't remember how!!!
I know you can go settings-systems-memory-running programs however, there must be a short cut (without having to install other software).
Can you help??
Rob.
tap the little O2 icon in the botom RHS of the screen. this will show you the programs running and allow you to close them down
...........some how I have managed to move/delete the icon you are talking about.
Any ideas how to get it back?
Rob.
Well either go to programs and tap the O2 customise icon and see if that launches the app or else download the O2 plus App from the forum which is much better than the one installed in the Orbit.Go to search option and type O2 plus for all devices.

XDA Orbit UK, can the bottom bar be removed?

Hi everyone, I just got a XDA Orbit to replace a XDA Atom Exec+bluetooth gps.
So far so good, hard to believe this device is almost as fast as a 512Mhz one..
I've installed everything I had on the Atom but since the Orbit has a little bar at the bottom with a battery indicator and an icon to lauch the comm manager my today screen doesn't fit and I get an annoying scroll bar on the right hand side.
Is there any way to remove the bottom bar? I don't really need it.
Thanks.
On my Orbit, the menu item shows icons for :-
Battery / Screen Rotate / Comm Manager / Brightness / GPS update / Mouse
Is this the same on yours? If so;
Start
Settings
Today
Items tab
Look for "HTCHomeplug" (on my device anyway)
Untick
Jeff
Thanks Jeff, but I don't have anything like that on the items list under today settings. The only selected are Spb Mobile Shell, Pocket Plus and Spb Diary. The same I used to have in the atom.
Very annoying bar..
Hi.. You can use this free app :
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-htcustom-v1-1.html
HTCustom is a little application to tweak and customize WM5/6 devices to their owners content. Whats Good? - Thin Scroll Bars - Short Scroll Arrows - Live Searches Via Google - Remove battery/comm manager from tray - Clock Display (clock, date, nothing, both, battery) - Enable Time Zones .
I havn't tried it so not sure it's exactly what you need
Cheers
Thanks, but unfortunately didn't work, got an error message.
I finally got rid of it by hard-restarting it and soft restarting when I got the message saying the o2 software was about to install.
I hope I didn't miss anything by doing this. Seems like a clean device now, no custom apps in it.

Comm Manager erased by mistake from Launch Tray

Hi,
I just erased by mistake the Comm Manager from the Launch Tray. I´m trying to add it again but Comm Manager does not appear in the program list. Can anyone help me? My ROM is Faman 4.02 Spanish
Many thanks in advance
same
same here, I deleted it and can't put it back the original.
You still can put back the link but not the same icon anymore
How can I put back the link?
I apologize for my ignorance. Thanks.
Hi,
the list in the Home will offer you all those applications which are displayed unter Programs. You need to create a shortcut for CommManager.exe under /windows/startmenu/programs (or your localized version)
Launch Tray: I'm not familiar with a MS component of WM6 or WM5 called launch Tray. Do you mean the today screen? If so check in settings - today - items - and check the Wireless if it exists there.
Not sure what Lost_in_translation means by home. HTC Home? The launcher from HTC home is so easy to use I cannot imagine that anyone would not know how to use that to add an application.
Finally if you mean the funny round icon next to battery, screen orientation etc - you need to make changes in the registry. Find out what the today screen item is called - then search here: http://www.google.com/advanced_search?q=+site:http://forum.xda-developers.com&hl=en&lr=&as_qdr=all
for thread that will give precise details.
Hi,
just created the shortcut in the Programs folder that allowed me to add Comm Manager to the Launch Tray. By the way, with the original icon.
Many thanks

Bottom tray icons

hey everyone,
the vox is out for repair so in it's place temporarily an artemis.
Now because of a defect in de hardware i'm not able to connect to activesync through a usb cable so no rom flashing
Any way, it has the latest t-mobile mda compact 3.
So i'm costumizing the mobile a little; couple of programs and a different keyboard.
But what i realy want to know is: Is it possible for me to add some icons to the bottom iconbar?
There is a bar with a couple of icons e.g. CommManager, battery stat, switch from landscape to portrait and a couple more.
Is it possible trough regedit or edit xml files or something to add some??
Regards,
