the trick is timing. cannot hold the keys too long. i have to release the power key in 2-3 s.
Sorry but I do not figure it out. I have checked the manual but did not find anything. I have tried pushing both of the softkeys (the ones under the display, right?) and then the power button, for 1sec, 2secs, 3secs, but nothing worked. So how does it work?
Another point is the ClearVue suit. It won't install ?! Wrong device or something? Where can I chek for a new ROM? The one from the forum did not work an o² has not listed anything yet.

I had trouble with similar issues and someone suggested that I should just update the firmware on my handset. Took me a while to locate it but i found they had updated firmware on the 'downloads' tab at http://www.timtechs.com/unlocked-o2-cosmo-prd150.html Is this a good idea or unnecessary? Im not sure, haven't tried it yet.

I'm using the TNT 2.0 rom for hy hermes......I've been using the rom for a while with no prob. Today, I had to do a soft reset...my hermes stockes at the WM6 home screen page and does not want to acces windows.....What should I do....

i'm using spl2.10
sounds like you might have to do a 'hard reset'.
this will reset your ppc back to the base TNT rom you installed, so you'll have to reload everything you've put on since.
to perform a hard reset, hold down both left and right soft keys at the same time and stick the stylus into the hole in the bottom (where you'd do a soft reset) all at the same time.
to help you find out which program might be causing you problems, it's a good idea to load them one at a time and soft reset after each install.

I did a hard reset....by holding the green and the red ( on / of ) phone and the soft reset....nothing, I did not load any 3rd party software....
it loads the 1st TNT screen where we see the arabic words...then it turn to the WM6 welcome screen and it stays there.....does not want to load window.....

I've seen the same thing on my Hermes, nothing installed. After 5 or 6 reboots, it hangs and that is the ball game.
I'm sorry I cannot offer any more information than that
is this means that my Tytn is gone. ! ! !
Can't I bypass the WM6 welcome screen and enter a ' safe mode' so I can
re-flash it?

solution: Don't Press the Green Button.
Sorry, couldn't resist. Probably need to Hard Reset the phone only the correct way.

I did a quick Metacrawler Search and came up with this:
How to hard reset the Qtek 9090
NOTE – Hard resetting your PDA will return it to a factory default state and all user
information will be erased.
1. Press and hold the power button
2. Using the stylus, press the reset switch (whilst still holding the power button) and
release it
3. Release the power button
The PDA will now undergo a hard reset.

Yeah well figured it was worth a try. Makes no sense that its doing that. You should be able to upgrade the ROM to WM5 if you can find one for that phone. You'd really have to do some searching.
Hey I bet it's hardware problem.
If you upgrade to wm5, it won't hard reset.
But you will have to fix the clock/date settings every time you hit the green button.

Hi guys, i have a question. how come after i installed wm6 on my htc 8525, my phone is very slow whenever i open any files or folders. Hope u guys can help me. thank you
Did you do a hard reset after you flashed?
How do i reset it? Also, with wm6 , it's really hard to use activesync, sometimes it work but sometimes it's not.

Press both buttons above the green call and red hangup key poke your stylus to the reset hole. all together, and you will get a screen. look at the wiki please.
Or simply go to start>settings>system>clear storage>1234>ok.

This is my first time posting and I think I've done a pretty exhaustive search for the issue I have, but I can't seem to find anything.
First off, I'm running kavanna's 6.1 rom by ricky.
Ran the SDA unlock the first time I flashed it.
Installed the eT9 cab.
Now the problem is everytime I lock the phone (by holding my end call button) and leave it locked for a while, the hold to shift functions of all of my keys disappears. Meaning, holding my 'h' key does not give me a '?' or holding 's' doesn't give me '4'.
Also occasionally, the message button doesn't do ANYTHING at all. Completely unresponsive, again after the phone has been locked.
And the last symptom is that screen doesn't come back to full brightness out of lock. Also happens only occasionally.
I can't tell if it has to do with the locking of the phone or if might be lowlight or what. Any help would be much appreciated even if just to point out that the answer has been glaring me in the face through the search function on these forums. You guys are great, thanks in advance =P

What version of rickwatt's are you using? I've been using v24 for a while and I didn't even had to install tha et9 cab, have no problems. If your using a previous version I suggest to reflash to v24 with opera and you should be good.

just locked the phone for about 3 min. can't hold to '?' anymore. =( any insights from powers greater than i?
just an update if anybody is still looking at this thread or has ideas.
i've reflashed the phone. first to the offical tmobile rom. the problem of not being able to use my hold to shift buttons persisted.
flashed back to ricky's v24 w/ opera.
i've also noticed that it's not just the holding of the keys for the shift'ed keys that's gone. i don't get responses from any keys holding them down after locking the phone. to clarify holding, 'h' indefinitely does not give me 'hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh' in a text window and holding the down button on my dpad doesn't scroll through menus.
so i've started looking through registry edits to find something. anybody know of any registry keys for repeating keys? maybe mine got deleted.

I'm not sure I'm reading this correctly, are you saying that the buttons do not respond when the phone is locked ? Or, when you unlock the phone, the keypad is unresponsive ??
hehe i'm sorry. after i unlock the phone, the keyboard doesn't respond the same as after a fresh boot in the way i describe above. =P

Sounds like a hardware problem since it still does it with stock.
Try locking the phone by holding down Z.

No bootloader / and I can hard reset too...The screem stay black and when I push the power "on", the phone vibrate and that all nothing appear on the screem.( after flashing it with a custom rom).....

which rom did you try to flash on it?
if you plug it into the PC does the PC load (or try to load) some USB drivers for the phone? (not activesync)

The Rom was coming from "HTCPEDIA.com"!!!!! And it's not the first time I flashing a rom. But it 's the first time I have the kine of issue.

that's not a solution just one step towards a possible one
Ok, thank! But I was looking for az USb driver for a phone on the web but I can fine a propely one for my phone HTC TOUCH Pro 2; so if yu have a clu for that it will be nice for me to pass this step. ;-)

so the PC does see something when you plug the phone in? verify please
same problem here..
I've the same issue, only difference is that it occurred after disassembling and putting everything back in place again. It does start, because I can here the booting sound.
It stayed blank even after performing a hard reset. (did it blind folded)
Any solutions?!

Yep!! It doesn't see no thing at all!! I have only the green light when I plug it on my PC same on supply power!! And when I start the phone with the power button I can fill it vibrate but no song come in from it like "booting song" and after vibrate nothing appear on the screen....

sorry, then it's really dead, i.e. either the hardware is totally broken or in the best case you need JTAG to fix it. no software based solution possible at this point

I already by a jtag tools so i m going to play with it to see what's going on.
