Here' cab file with full o2 settings
Htc P3300/o2
zen, thanks for the reply and help, i put the cab file on the phone all o.k BUT it will not allow pre-pay, paygo i have rang o2 but they will not help unless i have a contract with them, then they will set up my phone. am i doomed
Strange...it should let you let you have the option of choosing pre pay or contract.
O2 UK have never allowed auto setup of pay & go because they don't sell xda machines on pay & go and don't support it.
You can web browse with an O2 pay & go connection, but you can't do pop3 email, MSN or tomtom traffic. You need a contract sim for those.
Here's the settings you need for O2 pay & go.
Start > Settings > Connections > Connections.
Under ‘My Work Network’ tap ‘Add a new modem connection’
In the ‘Enter a name for the connection’ box, enter any name of your choice.
Change the ‘Select a modem’ drop-down box to ‘Cellular Line (GPRS)’
Tap ‘Next’
Enter the access point name as payandgo.o2.co.uk
Tap ‘Next’
Enter the username as payandgo
Enter the password as password
Tap ‘Finish’
Tap ‘Proxy Settings tab
Tap ‘Advanced’
Tap ‘WAP’
Delete the IP address in the Server field and tap OK
Tap ‘HTTP’
In the Service box enter 193.113.200.195
In the Port box enter 8080
Tap OK 4 times to exit
Thanks a lot, thats worked a treat, but i didnt know o2 is no good for TomTom traffic i have a paygo Orange sim, would that work? if so i will need settings for that ( thanks for any help)

Hello all,
I am running Black 3x, my question is this, I would like to contact to Cingular's network (data) but do not need or want all the apps it looks like the cab will install. I essentially would only like to use messenger and sync my outlook w/ exchange.
How would this be easiest, when I go to settings/connections/advanced I have the options of "my isp" or "work network" shouldn't there be a gprs or something?
Please help.
Thanks
Search for the cab shogun_cing, Id post it myself but Im not the most technical person here (prob the least) But I have figured allot out by searching as irritating as it can be sometimes, it does help.
See my sig file for a link to wpbears cingular settings cab .... works great

If you want to do it manually, it's easy:
1. Go into settings/connections/advanced and either choose "My ISP" and "Edit", or "New" if you want to create a new connection. (I always just edit My ISP.)
2. In the "General" tab, enter a name for your settings; doesn't matter what it is. Then click the "Modem" tab.
3. On the Modem screen, click "New." Give the connection a name (Cingular GPRS or whatever you want) and select "Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G) from the dropdown list. Click Next.
NOTE: these settings are for MediaNet; if you're on a PDA connect plan, I *think* you just need to substitute "isp" for "wap" in the following settings, but I'm not 100% sure as I'm not on that plan.
4. Enter wap.cingular as the access point name and click next. Enter [email protected] as the username and CINGULAR1 as the password.
5. Click Finish. On the Network Management screen, make sure your newly-created connection is selected for the "Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using:" box.
6. You may need to go into Settings->Wifi->Network Adapters tab and select "The Internet" under "My network card connects to:"
This should give you access to the Internet, Exchange syncing, etc. Works for me, anyway.

Okay,
I got my P3600 yesterday, CID Unlocked it and have ran several rom's on it.
But I have noticed that the MMS Sending and Recieving facility does not work.
I have checked my settings with my Service Provider (O2 Ireland Contract)
And have used the Network Wizards that are on some ROM's to no avail.
Basically what happens is the MMS goes to 99% and then fails and stays in the Outbox and incoming MMS does not come in at all.
I have also upgrade to the 1.50 radio and this has not made a difference.
Is this a known issue, currently using the most recent Bepe rom so hopefully a solution can come up for this as it is a very nice and versatile rom.
same issue here on o2 ireland, mms with the same sim card in another phone works fine, but on the trinity it just stays in the outbox with the little clock in the top left corner of the message icon..tried 3 or 4 latest ROMs, even the official dopod 3600i ROM, same difference.
any help appreciated
At least I'm not on my own, thanks for the feedback dude
Network Wizard may have some configuration error.
For example MMS setting for WIND (ITA) are wrong, it uses for the gateway 212.245.244.1 but the correct one is 212.245.244.100.
Double check your MMS settings to see if there are some errors.
For cookers:
The file provision.zip can be modified, inside there are operator settings for various conuntry.
The password of the archive is 1234, modify the wrong entries, then repack and remember to reprotect the file with the same password (1234).
If anyone needs the correct entries give me a shout I have all the screen shots for WAP 2.0 and WAP 1.2 settings but the darn MMS dont work.
I am certain it is something very simple bu what is the mystery
I'm afraid I'll have to mirror you again here mate, settings are not the issue, tried every possible combination, old ones, new ones, old ones mixed with the new ones, etc....no joy...
I had a similar problem with an SP5 last year after a lot of fiddling I got it.
It seems to be not as straightfoward as I thought.
If anyone has a P3600 with working MMS for O2 Ireland can you post your settings here, it is most likely some straight port and IP combination
Actually has anyone here used MMS on any rom sucessfully especially on Irish Networks ?
Reply I got from HTC :
Wont work for me can you test :
The issue you are describing is not a knowing issue, please check the settings, this?is the settings for paying monthly.

Because O2 starts charging the 0845 and 0844 number, I had cancelled my o2 contract, and changed to Pay And Go.
But the previous GPRS setting prevents me to get access to the internet. After I hard-reset the O2 WM6 system, and run the O2 Operator Settings, still no luck.
I quite sure that my number can access to GPRS system, as I received a txt from O2 saying that I have 5M browsing allowance this month.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks !!!
You can't browse the internet on O2 Pay as you go. The only company that allows it on PAYG is Orange as far as I know.
you should be able to go on the internet on any network, payg or contract... it just usually costs a lot on payg.

I thought so too, but just not able to get around it, yet.......
what carphead said in effect is correct "You can't browse the internet on O2 Pay as you go. The only company that allows it on PAYG is Orange as far as I know."
with O2 PayAsYouGo and xda's, pda's whatever you wana call them, you cannot access the worldwide web. you can access wap sites, i.e. wap.google.com, but you have to put WSP:// instead of http://. for example WSP://wap.google.com. by entering wsp:// it then uses the wap connection which is under My Work Network in connection settings and not the mobile web connection under My ISP. the problem is there isn't that many wap sites you can access with the XDA's.

i can view normal websites... but sometimes the site realises i'm on a mobile, and automatically forwards to their mobile version. for example www.google.co.uk automatically forwards to www.google.co.uk/m
it can be done
Connecting a Windows Mobile 5/6 device to O2 Prepay (touchscreen devices only)
Please note that these settings are only for touch screen windows mobile devices (there is currently no support for non-touch screen devices). Please also note that only Mobile Internet Explorer will work with these settings, you will not be able to use or access Mobile MSN or Outlook as these are not supported.
• Go to Start > Settings > Connections > Advanced (Tab) > Select Networks (Button)
• You should now be on a screen titled “Network Management”. Now select both drop boxes to “My Work Network” then tap OK
• You now need to tap the Tasks tab and then the “Manage existing connections” link
• From here, tap the New button
• Name the new connection “O2 GPRS” and select modem as “Cellular Line (GPRS)” then tap Next
• You will now asked for the Access point name, here you should enter: “payandgo.o2.co.uk”, then tap Next
• You will now be asked for the username and password. The username is “payandgo”, and the password is “password”
• Ignore the Domain box and ignore the Advanced button, just tap Finish
• You will now be presented with a screen with your connections listed. Simply tap “O2 GPRS”. (There will now be a dot besides the name “O2 GPRS”. There may be other connections, you can delete if you wish. You also may have an “Auto pick” option, do not select this)
• You now need to tap the Proxy Settings tab
• On this screen you need to make sure that both the “This network connects to the Internet”, and “This network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet” tick boxes are both ticked
• In the Proxy server box below the tick boxes, enter: “193.113.200.195”
• Now tap the “Advanced” button
• Tap HTTP, enter server as “193.113.200.195”, port: “8080”, tap OK
• Tap WAP, enter server as ”193.113.200.195”, port: “9201”, tap OK.
• Leave Secure WAP blank (if there is anything in this entry, delete it)
• Tap Socks, enter server as “193.113.200.195”, port: “1080” and the type as “Socks 4”, then tap OK
• Tap OK 3 more times. Then tap X
• Now launch Mobile Internet Explorer to test the new settings
As far as my testing goes your not restricted to WAP sites, I was able to use full google, and and also access a few forums with no problems.
I hope this helps.
Cheers, Kev

gprs settings
Thanks Mate you are a life saver i have been looking for them all over
I'm glad to be of assistance. I've always been a eager reader on these forums and it's nice to post something thats helpfull. It only took me around an hour a half to get these settings working! I needed them myself so i could use my O2 payg sim in my Orbit, and being without gprs was getting annoying so had to get it working. And so I did. It all seems a bit complicated but all the steps are nessesary. And I am still trying to find out if outlook can be made to work.
Anyway cheers all

I don't know, mate. But from the settings above, I doubt that you can use Outlook, though I very much like to able to use it too. Becoz from the settings above, you route the internet though a proxy, and outlook itself use a different port which hasn't set in the proxy.
Those settings work for Exchange Activesync too
Good work there, sir.
On a WM6 Pocket PC (sorry - "Professional") I applied the settings you provided, killed the wifi radio and did a send/receive in Pocket Outlook.
It worked. So much for O2's odd attempts to push data users into the contract world.
So, thank you very much. Kudos.
is Outlook part of the Office set of programs... i havent got it on mine, but it would be very useful
Pocket Outlook = Standard Windows Mobile Email client
Sorry, I was using an archaic term there.
What I meant was setting up an Exchange ActiveSync partnership between my Exchange server and my Windows Mobile device, using the built-in bog-standard Microsoft messaging app.
I'd just like to say a huge thanks to kosborn2 for posting those 02 settings, I'd been resigned to being unable to have GPRS on my 02 Exec because I'm a lowly Pay as You Go customer! Every now and again I'd have a quick look on the internet but it was usually the same wrong settings. Well done that man, you've made my day.
From experience o2 do try and restrict some pag customer to some sites a trick work round o2s restrictions and save time and data usage is on you pc (not ppc) right mouse click on the part of the page you want to view i.e. http://charts.moneyam.com/Chart.asp...SV=0&YFormat=g&XFormat=hh&Fix=1&E=UK&Code=UKX
Save to ppc favorites and it should work
Magic!
I've put a PaG O2 card in my old Himalaya (flashed to WM5) with my contract card in my Artemis, and now my wife can use it for GPRS thanks to thoose settings.
Thanks very much
thanks a lot for the settings, this is the only place i could find these settings, o2's website is no help whatsoever. without wanting to hijack the thread have u ever got mms working? i upgraded windows mobile and dont have the o2 active add on bits so i was wondering how i could send/recieve mms? thanks a lot again.
ive been looking for the gprs settings for my phone
i got the settings once off a guy working at a local o2 shop but my phone had to have a hard reset and i lost the settings
ive been searching on google for lyk a week now im going to kill somebody if i cant find working settings
i know this part of the forum is specifically for dash's so i hope i wont get the same retard answers lyk "use the text service"
if anyone cud help i would be eternally eternally grateful

lol. i cant believe i didnt write the ROM and stuff
windows mobile 6.1 and pay as you go
What ROM you using? Are you on contract or pay as go, just that connection setup has contract, but the pay as you go is different and they block ports so no pop3 or imap4
I had to use a .cab on Tilt to set up pay as you go, the connection settings are available though.
http://www.google.com/cse?cx=000825...tings&sa=Search&cof=FORID:0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8
Not sure if this .cab will work as only used on Tilt if not manual input it is. o2 are well cheaky with the 200MB package blocking email but i just use gmail in mini.
SMTP and IMAP4 works fine on PAYG O2 Internet for me, have the £7.50 Web bolt on and working through ProfiMail no problem - even SSL IMAP4 on port 993 works fine.
I think that O2 unblocked that restriction some time ago as it has been fine for me for almost a year. I'm using the standard PAYG access point details.
If the CAB doesn't work, the settings are:
Connects to: The Internet
APN: payandgo.o2.co.uk
Username: vertigo
Password: password
Should be all you need.

Thanks for info, i'll give that a shot but know that even recent posts people had same problem with o2 and u using diffeent port than the ones that blocked.
Well IMAP on the standard port 143 and POP3 also work fine, so suggest it may be a problem with their account?
good luck
if somebody could give me a step by step guide please.
Start > Settings > Connections > GPRS
Menu > Delete any connections that are there already, but if you have one that says "Auto configure connection", ignore it.
Menu > Add
Description: O2
Connects to: The Internet
Access Point: payandgo.o2.co.uk
Username: vertigo
Password: password
Leave everything else and press Done, and keep going Done until you are back at the home screen.
Make sure WiFi is switched off and try and use an Internet application. It should work fine.
Good luck!
Claro PR
I entered the wap settings in to my s620, Claro PR prepay unlimited w internet, and connected for about 30 seconds, i made a soft restart, then show me an error says: "the remote party has ended this connection" please any body help?? thanks....

I need the Claro PR WAP settings for my dash s620 unlocked, WM 6.1, thanks....
I had this problem on my BlackBerry, too, and I figured it was some stupid RIM thing. But now I'm having it on my Touch Pro 2.
I want to run on WiFi but with the radio off -- like when I'm roaming someplace expensive, but in a hotel where there's WiFi. When I do this, I can browse just fine, but the Inbox (standard WM mail program) says it can't make a connection. When I turn the radio back on, the mail comes through... but I don't know which connection it's using.
Anybody know how to fix this? Or at least, what's going on?
I dont know exactly what the problem is here, but i've always had this problem, I actually havent even tried just wifi in a while. I would say just use the http version of your email when you turn the radio off to save the frustration
I found the answer.
The connection that the Inbox uses to contact the server is set in the server settings -- so you can have a different approach for each server, I guess. Anyway, it's:
Tools > Options
Then tap the name of the server you want to change. On the next screen, tap Edit Account Setup. Then it's Next, Next, Next, Next, (4 of them) until you get to the screen that says Outgoing (SMTP) mail server: and lets you set up an outgoing server. At the bottom is a link that says Advanced Server Settings. Tap that, and look at the pull-down for Network Connection. There should be one called The Internet, which does NOT exist in Start > Settings > Connections. As far as I can tell, that's the WiFi. If you choose that, then tap Next until you tap Finished, Inbox will retreive E-mail via WiFi even if the radio is turned off.

Thanks!!! That works well on every pop-email-account for me!
But how can I choose the connection for my hotmail-account in the inbox? I found no way to prevent using the GSM-connection without switching the radio off, when I try to update my hotmail-account.
Anybody knows how to fix this?
