NEW forum for apps ?

i was thinking it would be handy if there was a new forum here
that coverd just APPS and UTILS for XDA2
i mean something like, if a member found a program that he/she
realy found usefull. or crap, or it bugerd up there xda2 whatever

Why specifically XDA2? Most software is not even XDA-specific, but will run on PocketPCs in general. Other sites are much more specialised in talking about new PPC software. What would be our edge ?

there's a dedicated section for these things! USE SEARCH!

The thread he's pointing us to was created this very morning. Today. It's not an old link, and it's not an old thread he's pointed us to.
I suggest that anytime someone finds information they think would be useful, especially someting we all cry out for such as an official release of a new ROM, that people who've been on here long enough to get a 'senior member' status get as carried away as possible and take the rip out of the helpful forum-member until they don't post or contribute anything.
Can everyone with Senior Member status please check their ego in at the door when they log in. This was a good post. Leave him alone.

User titles are determined by post count not length you've been a member...

That is an OLD rom version... Someone released that HERE a few weeks ago, I used it before... It's ok.. kept giving me the sleep of death.
EDIT: Im talking of course about the WM6 in the link in the first post here... never saw the one a couple posts above me.

wow! that's amazing bro.. installed that to your device? If the answer is affirmative, how is your take pertaining to the upgrade?

i realized it is an earlier build i will wait for 2 more days till the dopod rom comes out. gonna try both and see the differences

I like the images posted by antonlim1999! Wonder when / where the ROM will be available, as the sleep of death when my SD card is in is driving me bonkers!

I ve installed the rom last nite with the new radio rom 1.47
So far so good!
Installed Mapking 2007, Resco Explorer, Resco Picture Viewer Pro, CE Star, Handy Switcher, World Card Mobile.
Device never hang yet.
Anyone can let me know where to upload this rom to XDA?

Strange, very strange!!!
HTC Cavalier for the moment is the best WM Smartphone money can buy and still there is no separate forum for this device. Even HTC Oxygen (technicly the worst HTC Smartphone) has it's separate forum.

Apart from the iME problem, it is fast, new tech for the scroll and light sensor..why it is ignored?

...is it really selling well enough to have it's own area? Other than when it was released, you really don't hear that much about it.

Right... There was a lot of info just prior to it's release, and then some reviews right after -- but it doesn't seem to have been picked up by a lot of carriers (at least here in the states). Have many of them sold?
Maybe they should create a forum for 'Other' smartphones that never really took off, and you could talk about it there?

I know one thing that Cavalier is selling better than Oxygen, StarTrek, Monet and Breeze and finally it has better techical specs than any other smartphone on the market. Why carriers aren't picking it up, I really don't know and don't care as I don't buy phones with contract.
So your idea of "other" forum is good for above named phones but not for Cavalier.
There is another thing, HTC still did not anounce Cavalier for the rest of the world (except Asia), maybe this is why carriers aren't picking it up. If you want to get the device simply order it without a contract (for now). Even if this device goes on sale only on Asian Continet that does not meen that other people wont get it and that "it will not take off".

I just got a Cavalier (Softbank X02HT) - Nice device - It would be nice to have a forum for it to share information about all the ins and outs.

Yeah, I have been part of those 40+ pages on HoFo but that really just talks about the phone. I would like to know some new hacks and such.

My thoughts exactly. That is a user forum, not a hacker forum. I have several hacks I would like to post in that forum. For example:
After successfully unlocking the Application / security locks, I have succeeded making cleartype Japanese fonts from Meiryo (MeiryoKe), reducing size of fonts for reading and composing messages, and size of fonts for pop up menus (but not buttons).
I also succeeded to divert have incoming SMS messages get delivered to Pocket Outlook instead of the Softbank Mail application, but still have MMS (S! Mail) functionality handled by that application. (It seems that I can send outgoing SMS by either application)
I also figured out how to remap buttons and found out how to disable the Softbank Mail button on the Joggr (which was pretty annoying because I would accidentally hit it all the time, so I had to disable the entire Joggr).
I'm looking for information about how to enable Internet Connection Sharing - I haven't been able to get this working yet.

There's no forum, so I'll post here . . .
khammo01: have you posted your overall experience with X02HT anywhere yet? I'm using X01HT now -- WM6 in eigo. I'm guessing the X02HT came from Softbank already in English, right? If I switch over to the X02HT, I assume that the level of hacking I will have to do is much less than what I went through to get my X01HT working. The hacks you are mentioning are fairly minor tweaks, so am I correct in my assumption?

Sorry To Everybody Who Answered Below, But Due To Problems With Hard Drive, I Lost All Roms And Cabs On My Computer. So If A Admin Or Mod Reading This Post, Please Delete It

that would be awesome. when I first came to the forum, I had a real hard time sorting through all the releases.
But the only problem is, you must be updating that thread frequently as there is a new release every few days.
Also it would be even more awesome if you could add a release date next to each link so that people know what is new and what is old and what is being updated.

but i think there would have to be a way of stopping people posting any questions about the ROM or software otherwise the thread will turn into a messy ROM&CAB bank/Support thread!
Also if you can only post 5 attachments on each post, so unless you are going to upload CABs to Rapidshare (or whatever the you use) and then provide weblinks.
Also i would consider not using Rapidshare because once you download a ROM from it you get banned from download for 30-120 mins depending on the network traffic at the time, i think you should consider using SENDSPACE, MEGAUPLOAD, THERE IS LOADS MORE UNLIMITED ONES HERE
Last point, think the thread should only have your Posts on it, cantact a MOD with the idea and ask them if it is possable

no there isnt any applications like that. the hermes will charge when there is power coming through.

thanks mate, however I downloaded the hyperdragon rom from Sakajati for my kaiser which has the option on the power app to not charge while connected to a pc. This why I ask if there's similar app for Hermes
