Still have not found a way to remap the Messaging Key on the T-Mobile Dash to another app (Profimail). Anybody had any luck with this?

Going to look into this today, i got to have a play with one before, but in australia its hard to come accross these at the moment.
I know this is an old thread, but I have still not found a way to remap the message key (next to the T-Zones key) Has anyone been successful doing this?

Anyone get it to work? txtman sends messages but doesn't pick them up. I never could get the Q one to work, still can't in this either. This could be a deal breaker for me until one works for it.
Ugh. I'm having the same problem (as are we all w/ wm6 apparently) with txtman. was one of my most used apps on wm5 so def disappointed. hope ben harashima gets us an update soon (http://www.benhirashima.com/software/).
same here. im so disappointed!
SMS Threader
I use the Palm Messaging Beta 4 for threaded messages. The only differences from WM5 are that the fonts are smaller, and that for some reason my old inbox is still there. This is fine for me because I can now send MMS with the default app (cannot be done through the Palm program). All SMS's come in through the Palm app and MMS's come in through my text/multimedia inbox. Seems to work great for me!
yeah but the back button is useless in the palm sms threading program because it was intended for pcs with TOUCH screens. can someone map the back button to being the ok button for the pdas?
How to go back to main window

I got the same problem, when I click into a chat, I can't go back to the main window which can help me switch into inbox, sent box, draft & trash.
Anybody know how to go back to the main window in Palm thread sms Beta4?
with which button?
you must use task manager to close the program and then open it up again. PITA! i stopped using it, i downgraded to wm5 and am using text man now. couldn't be happier!
I haven't tried the Palm threaded messagaing again on my Dash yet since upgrading to the official WM6, but I did install it on my Vox. It works. I took screenshots of it on my Vox.

Further down the thread I attached 2 pics.
About 80% of the time, when I attempt to reply or compose a text message/email, my email program will "minimize" and I will have to push the email button again to bring it back (and it comes back at the expected screen).
Has anyone seen this before? I am using Schapps 4.22 and didn't have this issue with WM5 or official WM6.
ive been having the exact same problem. it will minimize to the today screen then i have to press the message button to bring up the screen i was looking for. ive had this problem with every cooked rom ive used, which is about 4 of vp3G's roms and 3 of kin0kin's roms.
i have the same problem
im using htc wm6 original rom and i have the same problem. i think is a wm6 problem instead a rom difference.
It's not just going to the Today screen for me. If I open internet sharing, for example, and then reply to a text message I receive, MOST of the time it will go BACK to internet sharing after I hit reply. I hit the mail button again and the replied message is waiting for me.
same here with TyTN II w/ WM6.
i push the message button on the screen, then pull out the keyboard and it throws me back to HTChome.. REALLY aggravating! any help..?
Getting it here as well
I am running Schap's 4.31
I get the same issue here and I have used several ROMs - Anyone know a fix for it yet? Ive gotten used to it, and its not a big deal; its just annoying...
Well, I recently purchased the Samsung Jack as an upgrade to the Samsung Blackjack II. One application that I particularly miss is SMSBubbles, which displayed a recieved text on the home screen. From there, you could click on a button that was called "SaveRead" which, presumpoustly, saved the message and marked it as read.
I was wondering if there was a way to implement this same feature in the current built-in form of SMS Bubbles; "Message Ticker."
I am simply asking for a way to hack the Left Soft Key to "SaveRead" the displayed message from message ticker.

Wrong forum my friend, this forum is for the htc excalibur.
As gmaniac2008 said this the Excailbur forum, there is a program called SMS Bubbles you can search google.
On that note use a forum for your device.

Hey guys,
Is it possible to have TF3D mark emails as read automatically when you select the e-mail tab, the same way the SMS messages become marked as read when you press the SMS tab? It really irks me that everytime I receive a new email, i have to open it to get rid of the notification, even if I already know what the email is about from the preview.
Any help is appreciated
Thanks
This has been bugging me too. It would also be useful to be able to delete emails from this screen too by having the option under the 'Menu' button, again like the SMS tab.
Here Here
While I cannot offer any advice on this, I can say that it certainly is a pain.
I would love to see a "Mark as Read" button added or even better - a "Delete" button added to the email preview page. Even a key combination or hardware key re-map while in that screen would work, but would be a 2nd class fix as it would mean having to open the keyboard.
Is this issue addressed in any of the ROMs out there?
Anyone know if that useless "Push To Talk" button could be remapped to do this?
Thanks!

This would be perfect, or a "mark all as read" button in the Manilla GUI under email
I keep seeing posts for this in other forums MyTouch 4g, etc. But no answers as to if a simple change can do it. I am trying to stay with the stock messaging app, but want to be able to send a text by hitting enter on the physical keyboard. I searched for this around a few different forums not just xda and couldn't find a definite answer. I would really like this functionality in the stock app if possible.
