Somehow I can't get the MEdiaNet Proxy to work properly. I've configured my internet settings to what is widely available information.
_______________________________________
When I have IE configured as follows:
IE > Tools > Options > Connections > Select Network: WAP Network
I can't access the MEdiaNet homepage nor any other site on the web. Instead I get a return error that says: "The Requested Page can not be displayed."
_______________________________________
When I have IE configured as follows:
IE > Tools > Options > Connections > Select Network: The Internet
I can get access to the web (which is more important at this point) but still not the MEdiaNet homepage.

The puzzling thing for me is that I didn't have this problem when I was under the unlocked T-Mobile ROM. Any help or insight is much appreciated.
proxy
I am not on cingular, but used to be a while back. this is what you should have.
gprs
APN: wap.cingular
username(CAPS): [email protected]
password: CINGULAR1
CONNECTS TO THE INTERNET
PROXY SET UP
connects from the INTERNET
to THE wap network
Wireless.cingular.com:80
make sure you deletet anyother proxy settings
in PIE tools/options/connections
choose wap network, try again auto detect on/off not sure.
that should work.
Yup. Those are my exact settings. I've checked it 100 times and still can't figure it out. Again, "THE INTERNET" works but the "WAP NETWORK" does not.
Something happened when I migrated to the HTC based rom. I'm wondering if there's a registry value that changes the way proxies are handled within wm5.
I had the same problem. Someone on howardforums.com told me to use 66.209.11.61:9201 as the proxy and to switch the proxy type from HTTP to WAP.
Worked like a champ (not sure why the normal settings don't work though).
Now if I could only get MMS to work...
Thanks for the tip! It works perfectly.
Just tested out my MMS settings to be sure that it was working. It is indeed working both for sending and receiving. Settings are as follows:
Go to messaging > MMS > Menu > Options > Account Settings > Menu > MMSC Settings
Create a new item:
Name: Cingular MMS (But you can call it anything you want)
MMSC URL: http://mmsc.cingular.com
WAP Gateway: wireless.cingular.com
Port: 80
Connect via: The Internet
Max Sending Size: 300k
WAP Version: WAP 2.0
Cheers
What most likely will break is if you use wifi or your AS connection. It seems the settings are backwards on this device. And if you get that working, it will alwasy try to use a gprs connection even when a wifi or as connection is available.
Kind of sucks!
Proxy while using WiFi
Because Cingular uses a proxy setting you will not be able to use the WiFi as stated in the post above. You really do not need the proxy settings in to access the internet. I have had many devices with WiFi and have disabled the proxy on all of them and have been able to access full internet. With the proxy set you will only be able to get to "pda" or tiny screen sites. Try it out and let me know if it works. I have been thinking of getting either the HTC version or the Samsung Blackjack. I would rather have this one becuase I would prefer the WiFi over the 3G.
What are you thoughts?
Cingular MEdia Net
Wow...there is a GOD.
I made it a goal to get MEdia Net working on my phone, afterall, I am paying $20 a month for it. Like other users, I could get to any website, but not MEdia Net. This also happened after I upgraded the ROM (to remove the T-Mobile branding). I tried all suggested settings for IE, GPRS, and Proxy all from the various forums - xda, hofo, Cingular FAQ, called Cingular tech support. Nothing was working. Tonight I was farting around and stumbled upon this thread. I tried the Proxy settings above, and still nothing. I made several other changes and here is what I have now...
IE: tools/options/connections
Unchecked - Automatically Detect Settings
"Select Network" - Work
GPRS:
Connects to: The Internet
Access Point: wap.cingular
User Name(CAPS): [email protected]
password(CAPS): CINGULAR1

Proxy:
Connects from: The Internet
Connects to: Work
Proxy (name: port): 66.209.11.61:9201

I know just like everyone else that MEdia Net itself does not have much to offer, but it was pi$$ing me off that it was not working. Now that I have it working though, I understand that there is a newer version of MEdia Net out or something?
when i had the cingular 2.06 rom my mms limit was 600k. Since upgrading to XDAlive and having to manually enter the media net and mms setting i'm limited to 300k. did anyone else notice this

Check the Wiki for the registry tweak to add 600k MMS. Involves changing one value and making one more.
I forgot the exact details (location of keys/values) off the top of my head but it involved changing SendDataLimit to 4 (or next number higher) and making SendData4 value = 614400 D_WORD(decimal)
Thats off memory...so double check the wiki.
Interesting here as too (have AT&T Wirless) and both MEdianet and Cellular Video were (apparently) removed with a cooked WM6.1 ROM...
Not really a biggie, but I wanted a 'morale victory'...to get both pages (URLs) to work with Mobile IE (without having to tweak/modify any connection settings..
Cellular video is: http://cingularvideo.cingular.com
Alternative MEdianet is http://infospace.com/infow.sbcw/
Because a I recently received a AT&T MEdianet email advising me of a lot of customization changes...and wanted to see what was up...
Both pages report: We are temporarily experiencing technical difficulites

I have a Cingular 8525 which i recently upgraded to:
Rom version: Pro BLACK 2.5 (Cingular Version)
Radio Version 1.40.30.00
So far everything seems to work nice except my PDA connect. The only way I can get on the net is by using the Media Net settings. I have checked the My ISP settings and they seem to be perfect:
Access Point: isp.cingular
Username: [email protected]
Password: CINGULAR1
But whenever I changed my connection settings to My ISP, it can't connect to the web. It says locating for a about a minute then just says The page cannot be displayed or downloaded because the connection was lost. I thought it was the radio ROM so I switched from 1.41 to 1.40. But I still am having the issue. Does anyone know what step I might be missing?
Thank you!

I have the same issue. All programs using gprs EXCEPT for PIE work using [email protected]prs.com. Is anyone running Black 2.5 using [email protected] and not media net?
Steps I took to set up ispda are:
1)I name the new conection My ISP, I select a modem: Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G)
2) Access point name: isp.cingular
3) User name: [email protected]
Password: CINGULAR1 (domain blank)
Advanced tab TCP/IP leave Use server-assigned IP, Server tab leave use server-assigned addresses.
4) Hit Finish
Can someone shed some light on why only Media Net seems to work for me using this ROM? I'm able to send emails via Goodlink, connect to Agile, but for some reason PIE doesn't work with [email protected].
Thanks

Jojo are you able to send emails or use any other program that needs internet access with the pda connect settings?
I can use everything to access the net except for internet explorer, and since we're having the same problem on 2 different versions of WM6, I'm thinking we're setting up isp.cingular wrong. Any senior members want to help?

Probably because you have javascript turned off for that site. NoScript blocked it for me as well the first time thru.
I think i found the problem. I found a program in black 2.5. Start > Programs > Proxy Manager > Disable Proxy. After I ran this it seems that my PDA connect is up and running. Streaming music from www.di.fm never worked under media net only under PDA Connect and I am streaming as we speak.

After playing around some more, I noticed that after I rebooted the pda or changed a setting in the connections i would not be able to get back onto the internet unless I ran that Disable Proxy cab. I'm not to shabby with Windows mobile yet. Is there a way to run this at startup or so that whatever option keeps getting changed on reset doesn't get changed?

Thanks, Berdinkerdickle. I appreciate you taking the time to respond to this post.
Like Jojo who started this thread, I need to run the diable proxy cab every time I reboot to make PIE work using isp.cingular on Black 2.5.
This is probably a simple fix, like a toggle for a setting, or something else very basic that I haven't set up properly.
I'm stumped. I've spent hours trying to figure it out.
Hey guys I was having the same problem with my wifi network at home. GPRS/3G was working but no wifi. After reading the thread I tried disable proxy cab and now everything is working.

Now I see where I got confused.
The very reason I went to Black 2.5 is to get away from that Cing Proxy crap. (I had trouble accessing secure sites like Wells Fargo, and couldn't get ISP to work half the time) I see now that I forgot that JJ recently released a Cing version.
That's why I prefer to install the standard version and have the Cing cabs as options, and just do the Cing setting manually, or use wpbears cab for cing settings.

So I guess if I want to use pda connect on black 2.5 (cingy version), i need to use the disable proxy cab each time I reboot. Not ideal, but at least I know it works now. Is there a way to permanently disable the proxy that you know of so I can make pda connect the default and Media Net the 'option'? You've been really helpful, Berdink. Much appreciated. I'm sure other Cingy pda connect users will have the same questions.
Yes, I seem to remember reading here at xda that it can be permantly disabled or even deleted in the registry.
I won't have time to help you search until maybe latter this eve.
Best I could come up with is this thread as it relates to the proxy, and where the disable/enable proxy scripts came from and what they change in the registry when you run them. So I know what is changed.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=289524&highlight=disable+proxy
But on each reboot in jj's black 2.5 cingy, by default it enables the proxy, whereas I'd like it disabled on startup and then if I want to use Media net, I can enable it. Basically, the reverse of how black 2.5 cingy loads the proxy on startup now. Not sure how simple this is...
Well, I created a workaround. I placed the disable proxy cab from the thread below in the windows/startup folder.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=303906&highlight=disable+proxy
On startup it will run the disable proxy cab and you have to hit ok, but at least it's automatic each time the device is reboot.
I tried deleting the enableautodetect key in thge registry, but if you want to enable the proxy to use medianet functions and programs any time after you delete it, the enable cab simply puts the key entirely back and re-enables on startup so deleting the key's a short-term solution. for those using cingular pda connect (it's much faster internet speeds) and using jj's black 2.5 (cingy version), this is a way to work around the proxy being enabled automatically at startup.
I have installed the Beta when it was leaked out and installed the final release when it was leaked out and my internet worked with all of them. This morning however, the day T-Mobile officially released the upgrade, I noticed my internet and e-mail stopped working. I added the T-MobileWeb for $5.99 package to my plan a few months back when T-Mobile shut down free internet access in my area (Dallas, TX) and that allowed me unlimited internet access without having to pay for the T-Mobile Total Internet Add-on for $29.99.
I have tried every thing I can think of to troubleshoot the phone except for restoring back to factory settings. Is anyone else having the same issue as me? Maybe T-Mobile figured out that people are getting unlimited internet access on their phones with the T-MobileWeb package (which is only suppose to let you use T-Zones to access premium content, not use IE) and are now blocking it?
Any input would be great!

I had the same issue this morning with trying to access the Internet using my Hermes (the only reason I'm even viewing this forum is because I used to own a Dash). I am running LVWS WM6 upgrade and went back to default settings but stayed on WM6. I was also on the $5.99 plan. I upgraded to the $29.99 plan and after 1 hour of waiting, got access to the Internet and my work's Direct Push system. Looks like T-Mobile is really going after the free users.
Murad
I too have the Dash with the Official WM6 ROM installed. This morning there was no data connection. Have been using "The Internet" under Settings>Connections>GPRS>T-Mobile Data.
I still had the T-Zones proxy in there, so I changed the above setting to "WAP Network" and I can get Exchange mail, and IE, but NOT Pop mail accounts. (Remember, the Pop client itself does not allow for a "WAP Network" setting in the WM6 Official release).
Two out of three is not bad, but not a full solution.
Maybe if this persists, I'll have to revert to the WM6 Beta version, as that software had the WAP option in the Pop setup.
Anyone have any ideas?
But what I dont understand is why did it stop working today? I have been using the leaked final release for over 2 weeks and never had a problem, and now it doesnt seems to work.
I remember a while back I read a post (maybe on this site, dont remember) that talked about settings up a Proxy on the phone so that you could get internet access with the T-MobileWeb package, but I can't find that information anymore.
The last time ActiveSynch talked with the Exchange server was @ 1:59 AM this morning (5/9/2007)

Yeah, just use the proxy and all is well.
Everytime TMob does this, people freak out.
I looked closer at my settings. I had actually set my Dash up exactly as you listed.
This has changed:
"In addition to above these need to be set:
Start/Connections/Menu/Advanced
All should be set to Automatic"
These WERE set to automatic, by myself before today. I have always set these to Autmatic since my MPx200. I just looked at them and now I have:
Internet Connection: T-Mobile Data
Work Connection: Automatic
WAP Connection: T-Mobile MMS
Secure WAP Connection: Automatic
Changed them back, and Voila!! Everything works except my Pop mail.
Looks like T-Mobile pinged us with a change?????? Hopefully they wont do it again......
Thanks for the fix, qwikndrty.
UPDATE: Just tried changing T-Mobile Data to "The Internet" again. 4:00pm Local time. ALL WORKS AGAIN. Dallas TX area. Who knows?!!!!
My settings under Start/Connections/Menu/Advanced were changed from Automatic too.
I just applied all of the settings above and still nothing :-( I'm going to call T-Mobile and say T-Zones doesnt work (even though it does) and everytime they do something to try and fix it I am just going to say it still isnt working. Maybe the guy will get tired of not being able to fix it and just change something to allow me to have internet access.

Wasnt there another address besides wap.voicestream.com that used to be be used? like wap.tmobileweb.com or something like that? I used to have an MDA and I remember there being a second address for one of the connections.

wap.t-zones.com if it redirects you to t-mobilefavorites.co.uk, then its the uk site.
Anyone in Dallas, TX using a WM6 Dash with the $5.99 T-MobilWeb service on their account have internet access right now?
I have the $5.99 T-MobileWeb service on my plan (instead of paying for the $29.99 Unlimited Internet) and cannot access the internet anymore. Anyone else able to access it right now with the same setup as me?
No More Internet Via Tzones without proxy
I have the Tzones 5.99. And I too lost internet about 1:00 a.m., I am in Sacramento Cal. I had to use the proxy 216.155.165.50:8080 for Internet but no more Live Mail
Hermes WM6 Black 3.01
Mine went out this morning and I still can't get it back!! Cant use it with the proxy either!!!!
you guys make it sound like its the rom thats preventing internet from working...
truth of the matter is that tmobile has been upgrading and securing their network in the usa piece by piece to prevent data abuse...
with 3g coming out on their network soon, they're making a much better effort of giving proper privileges according to the plan a customer subscribes to...

My first post and just wanted to say thanks. I bought my Dash over a week ago and have been getting free internet. Sometime yesterday they shut it down so I ordered the $5.99 package. I got a text message confirmation from them this morning that the new package was activated so I entered all the information above and I am now back up and running
Right now I can either get the internet and mail2web to work or I can have my pop mail work. If I use the proxy, internet/mail2web work w/o proxy I can get pop mail.
Pretty bizarre

Then all you have to do is set up a second GPRS setting:
T-Mobile Data2
Connects to: Work
Access Point: wap.voicestream.com
AND then, make one change with EACH Pop e-mail account:
Open your e-mail account, then Menu\Tools\Options\Account Settings\Next\Next\Next\Next\Advanced Server Settings\Network Connection
Change to: "Work"
This way you do not have to keep switching GPRS settings back and forth.
First post and I did search to see if anyone reported this and did not find any posts. I updated to Black 2.5 from OEM rom and noticed that when I did repeated measurements of netspeed using DSL Reports Speed Test (Mobile) I was getting a consistant 800-900 Kbit/sec. After upgrade it appears to be about 300-500 Kbit/Sec. I stream using ORB (TV, Video's & Mp3's). A lot more buffering with 3.0.1. I have tried setting Temp internet to Main memory and SD card with no difference noted. I am using Wap.ingular AP. Any thoughts on why 3.0.1 appears to be slower. I did not change the Radio rom 1.16.00.00
I also do not see any speed difference between 2.5 and 3.0.1, but a bug difference from ther OEM rom.
Thanks. BTW sent $ to JasJamming for his awsome ROM.

Your network speed is due to several factors which include network traffic. What time of day were you doing your tests? Generally with these roms its best to go with the upgraded radio that actually may help.
I ran over 50 tests on both roms over several days. I guess that it may be a coincidence that on the days I was ruining 2.5 it was less congested and over the last 2 days it was more, but the difference was dramatic. You suggested I upgrade the radio. Do you have a recomendation?
Since the Core modules of wm6 were updated between 2.5 and 3.0 I was just wondering if other had similar results or is it just me (Wife says it just me)
bbrookfield said:
After upgrade it appears to be about 300-500 Kbit/Sec. I stream using ORB (TV, Video's & Mp3's). A lot more buffering with 3.0.1. I have tried setting Temp internet to Main memory and SD card with no difference noted. I am using Wap.ingular AP. Any thoughts on why 3.0.1 appears to be slower. I did not change the Radio rom 1.16.00.00

I also do not see any speed difference between 2.5 and 3.0.1, but a bug difference from ther OEM rom.
Thanks. BTW sent $ to JasJamming for his awsome ROM.

Do you have HSDPA enabled? I think it's enabled by default on Black 3 but I can't remember for sure. I haven't done speed tests, so I don't know if that could be the problem or not.

What is the difference with isp.cingular?
isp.cingular
i tried doing this, and it won't even connect anymore here are my settings
AP : isp.cingular
UN : [email protected]
PW : CINGULAR1
It says it can't connect using this.
If i switch it back to
AP : wap.cingular
UN : [email protected]
PW : CINGULAR1
It woprks fine. Anyone else notice this? Am I missing something here?
Both using IP header compression

i used to use these setting, but on the wap.cingular setting i would set my proxy to wireless.cingular.com. That looks right and you should be able to connect with those settings. Personally I just use the cab provided here and under select network I use medianet connection.
It would be nice to get some feedback if it is any faster or slower than isp.cingular. I believe it is the same speed. I use the medianet connection(wap.cingular) because it enables me to do cingular video.
In addition, I use opera browser 8.65 and in my opinion its faster than PIE.
Thanks goes out to wpbear for the cab

your AP : "isp.cingular" should be "wap.cingular"
Everything else is fine unless you want to put in MEdia Net.
AP : wap.cingular
UN : [email protected]
PW : CINGULAR1
Then you would want to set your Proxy up,
Check : The network connects to the internet
Advanced : Click "HTTP" and put in "wireless.cingular.com" Port "80" Click OK
Click "Socks" and put in "localhost" Port "1080" Click OK to get out and should be set up.
Make sure that both your "isp.cingular" and "wap.cingular" have a check mark on the proxy that says ; "The network connects to the internet"
between those 3 settings you should get you connected. I use ISP

It is for GSM Dial up. what plan do you have? Cingular has very confusing data plans. Be careful, these servers should not be interchangeable, it should depend on your plan. You may get charged per byte if you are not on the unlimited plan. So, make sure you're setting the right server.
GSM Dial Up connection
Phone Number: 19171234567
Username: [email protected]
Password: CINGULAR1
or
GPRS Internet service
Access point: ISP.CINGULAR
User name: [email protected]
Password: CINGULAR1
or
ISP.CINGULAR
[email protected]
CINGULAR1
Also dependes on the type of data plan you have. I have the PDA Connect Plan.
wap.cingular
* Provisioned for usage with GSM/GPRS/UMTS handsets and PDAs.
* Does not allow tethering of a laptop or PDA for internet access.
* Used for MEdia Net WAP browsing using a handset and HTML browsing using a PDA.
* Provides a dynamic, private IP address.
* Applies to MEdia Net and GoodLink rate plans and features.
* Username: [email protected]
* Password: CINGULAR1
isp.cingular
* Provisioned for usage with PC cards and some PDAs.
* Allows tethering of a laptop or PDA for internet access.
* Provides a dynamic, public IP address.
* Applies to Data Connect and PDA Connect rate plans and features.
* Username: [email protected]
* Password: CINGULAR1
blackberry.net
* Provisioned for usage with a RIM BlackBerry device and service.
* Applies to BlackBerry rate plans and features.
Check it out from the cingy web how to set up your 8525. don't believe, check it out.

No one answered me in the LVSW thread, but I was having strance IE problems with isp.cingular on that ROM. Low and behold I switched to black 3.01 and still had it (previious settings worked fine in Black 2.0)
Then I solved it... To fix the problem use the most recent settings in the cingular cab file at the beginning of this thread. then change the settings to isp.cingular.
Looks like there is some problem with DNS in these newest ROMs with PIE. If you look closely, the cab in this thread hard codes the DNS. Wala, then it works.
With old cabs or if you try to do the setting yourself you won't be able to connect with PIE but you will with Opera and other internet apps such as live. Setting the DNS yourself should also work, but there is an easy cab to do it so why bother.
I have the cab setup. I noticed he put in a server address. I set up MEdia Net and another ISP setting according to my plan and my ISP setting works the best. With the server address put in it stahls a little then connects as MEdia Net just is slower. You cannot connect WI-Fi with Media Net on...at least not for me

Because MEdia Net has a proxy set. You'll have the same problem when trying to browse via ActiveSync unless you change to My ISP. Or the proxy disable/restore stuff that's part the latest cingy WM5 and also adapted by CUSTEL to WM6 works quite well and precludes the need to change networks in order to bypass the proxy.
I'll also note that isp.cingular is only valid for PDA connect plans... if you have a MEdia Net plan you must use wap.cingular
Yep, I think this is the problem that a lot of people are blaming on the ROM. Maybe JJ should just come out with a Cingy also.

Have you tried configuring the GPRS settings? If not, go to the "T-Mobile Wireless Configurations" link in my signature. Follow the directions to setup the MMS and Internet. This is the solution 99.79% of the time.

I think those are the same settings (T-Mobile Data; T-Mobile WEB). I remember a while back that mine used to be called T-Mobile Data as well (due to someone's suggestion for that particular setting).
Long story short--they should be one in the same.
Here you go lol
Start Menu -> Settings -> Connections -> GPRS
T-Mobile Data
Connects To: The Internet
Access Point: wap.voicestream.com
User name: <blank>
Password: <blank>
Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0
Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0
IP address: <blank>
Start Menu -> Settings -> Connections -> GPRS
T-Mobile MMS

Access point: wap.voicestream.com
User name: <blank>
Password: <blank>
Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0
Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0
IP address: <blank>
Start -> Settings -> SMS Service
GPRS preferred
Start Menu -> Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Options -> Connections
"Automatically detect settings" is unchecked
Select network: The Internet (Must be set to "The Internet" to work over WiFi. Try "WAP Network" if you're having trouble over the EDGE/GPRS connection)
Start Menu -> MMS -> Menu -> Settings -> Menu -> MMSC Settings
Menu-> (add) T-Mobile MMS (should not be there Add it and delete all other)
Then Menu -> Edit

LOL That looks like the directions I followed when I first configured my settings. Afterwards, I used the T-Mobile page and they named it "T-Mobile WEB".
RussianSolja:
To answer your question above--I don't know why the two on your phone are slightly different. Perhaps you could "finagle" with your settings and leave the T-Mobile Data and add the T-Mobile MMS setting. If your phone functions fine after that, don't worry about adding the T-Mobile WEB settings.
Does anyone has unlimited access to Web, emails with T-Mobile Web $5.99 hacked working properly?
Please help, I can't access to Internet

Timely question as I have been wrestling with the very same issue for the past 36 hours.
My phone also has the RW 6.1 ROM and I activated T-Zones a day and a half ago. I've followed the hack instructions on "dashapps" to the letter, booted and rebooted several times, yet no internet. I either get a "$MESSAGE$..." or "you cannot access.." message when I try to connect.
I read on another HTC (non-Excalibur) board that T-Mobile has closed this loophole: can anyone definitively verify? There's a member here -- JDOGG*** something that says he works for TMo, so maybe he knows for sure.
I hate to be the noob that asks the same question that's been answered a dozen times, but... I've scoured this board and followed all the hack instructions EXACTLY -- several times -- and still no luck, so I'm at a loss for solutions.
Any and all guidance is genuinely appreciated. Thank you.
i've had the $5.99 working for quite some time working with:
autosync/exchange
iris browser/pocket IE
IM+ (IM program)
VNC viewer
also, i'm using 6.1 & followed the dashapps hack w/ no issues. not sure what else to tell you guys.
Yes, the $5.99 proxy hack doesn't work in some regions (usually those with the highest data traffic.) For everyone else, it works perfectly, with the exception of a few apps that aren't proxy aware.
A related question which may help solve my issue:
Within "Connections" there are two GPRS choices: #5, "GPRS Settings" and #6, "GPRS". For "GPRS Settings" I have the option of authenticating using PAP or CHAP: which do I use?
Also, is there a preferred setting for "Disconnect GPRS When Dropped"? (Preferred in the sense that it may effect my ability to connect to the internet.)
Thanks again.

$5.99 Setting for WM6.1.....URGENT
ralph1o1 cal you write it down your phone set up?
I called T-mobile Yesterday to do the setting and the Lady toll me that I have to get the $19.99 plan to get access with WM6.1, I'm pretty sure a few peoples of "T-mobile support" doesn't have a idea when you change OS doesn't come with the original phone.
If you can bring me the setting I appreciated.
By the way..I went back to WM6 to try and I had access to T-Zones thru "winwap" but I didn't have the $5.99 plan to try it.

Please Help To Set Up Internet With $5.99 Plan

My GPRS is set to PAP, but the other settings mentioned are the same. Here are my settings:
Under GPRS, I have three connections:
The first and third are labeled T-Mobile Data and T-Mobile WModem Link and are both setup the same:
Connects to: WAP Network
Access Point: wap.voicestream.com
Other settings are blank, except for the DNS entries are all 0.0.0.0.
The second connection is labeled T-Mobile MMS:
Connects to: Work
Access Point: wap.voicestream.com
Other settings are blank, except for the DNS entries are all 0.0.0.0.
Now onto the proxies...I have two setup:
Tzones Proxy:
Connects from: WAP Network
Connects to: The Internet
Proxy: 216.155.165.50:8080
Type: HTTP
Username and Password are both blank.
Tzones Proxy2:
Connects from: Work
Connects to: The Internet
Proxy: 216.155.165.50:8080
Type: HTTP
Username and Password are both blank.
I live in Ohio and it works all over the state and Michigan, if that matters at all.
Let us know if these settings work for you.

let me get this straight...you put a cooked copy of 6.1 on your phone....you then call tmobile and tell them that your new unsupported cooked rom wont let you access the whole net on the 5.99 hack plan like the wm6 did.
you do realize that the whole concept of what we are doing here has totally escaped you.
Yah just follow the instructions below and you should be able to access it.
