Ok i looked every where and found nothing so i ask all this QUESTION
It seem that all of the sx66 units came with a camera if you remove the back cover of one without you will see a suprise. some were disabled from the manufacturer for corp. security and coverd. I have carfully cut the cam opening back in and loded the cam dll and icon but nothing is there a patch or rom void of all the complicated upgrading that dont work half of the time i have upgraded to every version of W.M. that i can and still nothing.
I have learnd alot in this forum but this is the one that burns.
Its like having a computer and no windows.

Has anyone used this yet? Last time I installed WM2005 I used patch 1 and now there is a Patch 3, whats the difference? Any bug fixes, etc?
It's reported to be faster, especially in certain read/write operations. I'm not sure, but I think it's correct. At least my BA seems a bit more responsive now. Look at the patch thread in the upgrade forum.
I just put this on my XDA2s last night. Here's a list of bugs/problems I've found so far. Perhaps someone could help me sort them out!
Album app doesn't work properly if opened from file explorer
Can't specify incoming files folder for bluetooth (not a bug but a standard feature of any phone and the old ROM)
No MSN messenger
No wifi icon next to bluetooth icon
Activesync takes like 5 minutes!
The keyboard doesnt work properly (ie letters freeze resulting in words like thisssssssssssssssssss)
After pressing 'hang up' in a call it takes about 10 seconds to do so. Even then the connected icon still remains at the top for a further 10 seconds.
Camera button only opens the app but doesn't take pictures
There's probably patches for some of this but I've not found them yet.
Patch 3 on an imate with Tmobile US results
Loaded it this morning on my imate pda2k. MSN works for me. When I tried the camera button it would come up but when I released it it woudl closel. Loaded the Camera 2k5 from 9/8 and now the app opens up and I see the image from the camera but when you press the button it does not take the picture/ start the movie camera (I'd really like to see this fixed) Do NOT load the button fixes from v1 and v2. They re map the buttons in a manner that is not consistent with their legends. If you do load it and want to back it out go to settings, remove programs and back it out. I can now get GPRS working on T-mobile US where on v1 and v2 it didn't like it. Am using Active Sync 4.1 wich is great! (although slow). If you are trying to sync up at all and you are using an exchange server make sure outlook is open and connected or it gets upset the first time. So far I like it. Still a little slower that 2003SE. Will post more as i play with it.
SOMEONE PLEASE FIX THE CAMERA
Camera Still dead after reload
took m5 and started fresh, loaded everythig remcommended but the camera still doesnt work. the button launches the application but when you press it while you are in the appliation it does not take a picture or start the video
Help
Better Discription of camera problem
If I dont load the button fix then the camera operates as in previous post, program launches but cant take picture. If I load the button fix, then when i hit the camera button camera help launches (explorer) instead of the camera App. How do I edit the keys? and how do I get the camera to take pictures. Other wise life is good so far
Camera now works
Go figure, loaded the caller ID cab and dumped the fles usng file dump from buzz and now the camera works. Sorry about all of the useless info
i installed the v3 and for some reason, my other sim card the roaming one is working perfectly, coz im using dual sim card....no problem so far, great work....
It often takes up to an hour to get a text message from the time it was sent. Does anyone else experience this?

I have had a scout around and no one seems to have this problem so thought I would run it by you all..
I was using Schapps WM6 ROM (6.0) until a few weeks ago when I decided to upgrade to a Kaiser. I decided to reflash the Hermes ROM to T-Mobile UK's official WM6 ROM so that I could flog it. Now the camera comes up with no picture but Green lines. The picture reacts when the camera moves so it can't be the hardware - could it be a driver issue?
A hard reset does not work. Before I attempt a different ROM, I wondered if anyone else has this issue or had come across it.
See the JPG.
Cheers
p.s stuck the thread here in the WM6 forum because I think its s/w and therefore ROM related.
believe me, its hardware related...
probably try cleaning the camera contacts (if thats possible)...
It's for sure no software issue...
you should look after a take apart direction and follow it to clean the contacts...
Regards
Thanks, after a change of camera software and ROM it still shows. T-Mobile give two year warranties over here so hopefully they will repair to free of charge. Although if I can get into the handset without them finding out it will be much easier if I can fix it myself - HTC are not that good at admitting to faults with their products.

i have the same problem on spv m3100 and i am desperate!i don't know how but after sometimes and a lot of try suddenly the camera make good photo but after i put a new rom the prblem come again!did you think is from contact?i should open my spv?hmmm... risky operation
i can imagine it's form the contacts... but a hardware failure in general (camera related hw) is the most likely for this kind of symptoms... if i would be you i wouldn't open it, if i had warranty left ;-)
regards
after a lot of trying i decide to open my spv m3100 and take a look in it!so ...i open it i look at it clean it(although it wasn't necessary) and i reasembly the device!lucky me the camera wortk like a charm!i was very glad and i thought all my problem disapeared but..... after i doing first soft reset .......my camera show like in the bro attachaments!**** off!i was very unhappy and tried once again to fiox it!i decide to put radio version 1.51.00.10 (of course nothing happend) and after that i decide to use the old russian trick(kick the ****ing device with a hammer)!herhehheheeh!you'll never belive me but it works!heheheh!old russian trick always work!from now on i decide not to make any soft reset until one of you discover what happend in fact!
please do not apply russian method on your device(esspecialy with a hammer) take it easy but hit the buster!heheheh!
i think i found the mistery!at least to me it works!
be attentive:
on the back of the phone on camera is a little bumb!i move it up and down several times and oups the camera works!i made soft reset and again camera dosen't work and i repeat those up and down manouver and camera begin works!i made this operations several times and everytime after that manouver camera works!i belive that is a mechanical problem on camera!i take a look at camera and also at photo and i see a little arch maybe is decalibrated and possible that is the cause!it dosen't release something don;t no for sure!see the attachement!if your device is in warranties go to service to solve the problem if not ....well try what i said!
OK...I've searched under terms: Joggr strip, Camera fix, volume adjust, etc, etc, and have found no definitive answer.
Just recently flashed my Dash to Ricky's Vanilla ROM...LOVE it! Except now the camera is unresponsive and the volume/JOGGR strip does not work. Worked fine with WM5. I've tried several different 6.1 ROMS and none of them make a difference. I've hard reset several times, no difference. Made sure the camera driver is "Enabled" in My Settings...still nothing.
1. Is there a fix for the camera that I'm unaware of?
2. The volume strip doesn't have to work...it's usually a bother anyway...BUT, is there at least a way to adjust call volume without using the strip? At this point I can't even do that, and THAT is a problem.
Current version of ROM is Ricky's V24 Vanilla
I'd be happy to search for the answer if someone could even direct me to the right search term, etc...
Thx for your help
*UPDATE/EDIT* OK, just decided to adjust clock speed up a bit (to 240)...rebooted and decided to hit the camera button for the 1000th time. Bam! Camera comes on but it looks like a digitized image in purple and black...not exactly a fix but it did get me closer. Any thoughts? STILL have no way to adjust call volume, royal pain in the arse.
still nothing?
No advice on this one?
Link to camera
a few people are having the same issue with the camera.
Not sure if there is a fix.
Jogger Bar link.
Read the threads. You might find something to help you out.
'preciate it...Those were the only two threads I could find in my previous searches.
Neither one had any solutions that seemed to apply. Just a bunch of repetitive posts on how to use the touch strip for scrolling/etc...mine simply won't respond. I even swapped out the entire board with an extra one from a previous Dash (with a broken LCD screen)...and that one did the same.
I'll check out HoFo and possibly look into different registry edits (the only thing I haven't tried with my Dash or my 8525, I guess now is a good time to learn.) If I could reassign the IN CALL volume control to a different button I'd be happy(er). The camera is hopeless as far as I can tell.
Just so you know, it's not the ROM
I would just let the thread die but since 50+ people took the time to read it, I figured I'd go ahead and update.
I opened up the phone again (had previously swapped out boards from an extra dash) and upon close examination found that the ribbon going from the jogger had a tiny tear in it. I took the jogger strip off of the old dash case (very simple, it's just "glued" on) and swapped it out...carefully this time.
It works!
Now I just have to figure out why the camera is not working...that, I suspect, is a software prob.
turn overclocking OFF and try the camera feature again.
Hello,
since i have bought my OP3 A3003 i have issues with my back camera (the widely known focus thing), so i decided to try replacing the camera module with a new one from ebay.
The new module (for the A3000, but this doesn't make any difference, right?) arrived yesterday, so i replaced it just exactly like the 10 times before, trying to get the issue fixed.
Since I've replaced the module, I'm not even able to switch to rear camera in any app. On the stock Camera app I can't even use menues or anything like that anymore.
Apps that provide device information say that I would only have one camera, the front facing one. Same thing when switching back to the old module. Also the Flashlight won't work.
Torch apps are saying me that i wouldn't have a flashlight in my Phone, abd when trying to turn it on by drawing the "V" on the Screen, it just turns off and instantly on again.
I've checked all connections, all flexcables are correctly plugged in and everything else works just normal. Wiping Cache, Factory Reset or flashing new ROMs doesn't make any difference.
I'm on FreedomOS 1.6.
Can anybody help me?
PS:
This morning i wanted to make sure again that everything is plugged in correctly, then I noticed that in the Motherboard a screw is missing (I don't think this makes any difference) and that the lens of the new module is actually "detachable". So I can remove the round plastic thing from the Square case, which is not normal in my opinion, at least in my old module the lens was movable within the module but nowhere
detachable.
Update:
After work I opened my OP3 again, put back my old camera, wiped the phone, reinstalled the rom, wiped cache and Dalvik and it worked again.
So i did the same procedure with the new module and it didn't work again.
I will send back the new camera as it's broken and hope, that the old one continues working (no idea why, but the focus works atm).
Just FYI, there are no official parts available online, OnePlus does not sell them to third parties. Anything you find on ebay is aftermarket stuff (or used).
I'm not surprised if those parts don't work as intended ...
