I am new to the Smartphone...
I synced my calendar to my S620. Now sometimes randomly I get notices that I have an appointment when in fact I had that appointment yesterday.
It looks like all my meetings are getting moved forward 12 or so hours in my calendar. Then maybe after 5 or 10 minutes the calendar reverts back to the corrrect times.
Has anybody else encountered this issue?
Any solutions?
might have to do with your time settings, check if it's auto on in the time settings as well as the right timezone and it matches your computer
I have experienced a similar issue. Yesterday I noticed one of my appointment times change on 2 separate occasions. The time changed to an hour earlier than my meeting was supposed to be and then changed to an hour after. I set it back both times. Fortunately, I knew what time my meeting was that day.
I've only been using the Dash a couple of days so I don't know if this will be an ongoing issue. I had put the device in my holster without locking it, so I was wondering if that might be the source of the problem. Also, I had some trial 3rd party PIM software installed which I have since uninstalled. I'm a little worried that this would be an issue that would get through testing.
Today I noticed all my meeting times advanced by an hour when my service changed from T-Mobile to Centennial when I was driving. The time on the home screen of my Dash was correct, but all my meeting times changed by an hour. I watched as I changed back from Centennial to T-Mobile, and double checked my meeting times. They all moved back to the correct time. Anybody have any idea what is going on? It doesn't make sense that the time on my home screen was fine, but my appointment times changed on me. Any insight on the matter would be helpful.

So i have no idea whats going on. On my Alarms tab I once had it set at 4:30am to wake me up for a flight and now even though I've changed it it still goes off every morning at 4:30am.
Anyone have this strange problem and know a remedy?
im having the same problem.when i change the alarm it goes off at the new time i set but it also goes off at the old time. what rom are you using? Im using pays lite 6.0 rom
I've got the same issue. I'm running schap's 4.31 ROM.
It first came up a few months ago and I thought it was related to HTC Home. When I uninstalled it it went away. I seems to have been a coincidence because this weekend it came back. The only change that happened was that for some strange reason my time zone was changed so I changed it back. Ever since then the alarm has been stuck on where it was set at 6:30 :40 and :50am no matter what I change the current alarm to.
Thinking I had things narrowed down I changed the time zone back and forth one zone/hour while the alarm was set to the correct alarm time 7:30 :40 :50am.
Now I have a THIRD set of alarms going off at 8:30 :40 :50am. I literally have 20 minutes of alarms for three hours M-F.
Looking in the registry reveals nothing, the alarms are set for the correct times there and the ghost alarms can't be found. No amount of turning alarms on or off and soft reseting has any effect.
Hi guys,
I had the same problem - two hidden alarms. You need to clear notification queue. It can be done with SKtools.
Regards
Do you live upstairs from me?
Who ever that is up there has a super load and annoying alarm that goes off NON STOP from 4:30am to 7:00am Very Very annoying...

buddy, its telling you to quit smoking weed ten minutes is enough...

The problem's probably that Windows has got the event stuck in its schedule.
A number of tools will clear the list for you. If you download Pocket Mechanic from Wizcode the time-limited demo is fully-functional. Good software, it's good enough that I bought it after trying. Took me ages to work out how to sort the same alarm issue a coupleof years ago.
Gad. As an engineer, I am a little reluctant to post this question or observation ... but if trained active astronaughts reported seeing UFOs, then I can report this problem. Here it goes:
My upgrade to 6.1 on my T-Mobile Dash coincided, unfortunately, to the day, with a new job that requires me to commute to Phoenix, AZ each week (as well as other brief US travels).
The evening I installed 6.1 (RUU_Excalibur_WM61_Kavana_080408_WWE)
I was in my home in the Silicon Valley area of CA. No problems.
Then
1. I shuttle off to Phoenix. From the moment I landed - email was just broken all over the place - mainly SMTP - which is well documented on these boards. A replacement Dash, 30 hours of tech support etc .. the problem has seemed to go away - perhaps it was a bizzare temporary incompatability between the 6.1 upgrade and tmobile's proxy servers.
now then ....
2. When I am in CA - my appointment reminders, and the overall behavior of the Dash is OK. I tend to use Tasks, Outlook, and text and pop emails quite often, browser and playing solitaire when i get bored. and lots of bluetooth use. Usually no problems with any of this while in CA.
3. I've traveled recently to Orlando, LA, St. Louis, San Fran, Indiana ... no problems at all - or rather no changes in behavior.
4. The SECOND I land in Phoenix and turn on my phone, the poltergeists start:
a. I turn on the phone - and all the reminders appear (no surprise) - but the "dismiss/menu" options don't appear for maybe 5 mins. I cannot do anything during this time except click on the Celetask button (@)... but this won't allow me to terminate anything. Only the back button and home key work - returning me to the frozen reminders list.
b. After 5 mins of freezing ... I either dismiss the reminder/appointments (or snooze them for 1 hour - ... one hour). Then I try to look at emails etc ... I find the button responses sluggish but working. THEN within about a min - the damn reminders appear again. When I dismiss them all, they reappear in about a min - this time with a duplicate of each active reminder (calender appts) ... yes, 2 of each. This keeps interrupting email reading until I cant stand it.
c. so I take out the battery, wait, and reboot. perhaps after 5 trys of this - the behavior still persists, but stable enough for me to work on the dash (perhaps it is not the reboots - but that the appointment reminder cycle has expired)
d. Even so ... during the next few hours -
i. Major problems talking on the phone. Reminders interrupt; cannot access phone menus (toggle handsfree, or to type touchtone numbers)
ii. When navigating other apps - keyboard does not always respond ... sometimes it appears to stuff in erroneous keystrokes
iii. freezes (unresponsive) for long periods 3-4 mins at a time then all the backlog of keypresses are excuted.
Yes, I have replaced the Dash twice already! That's not the problem
Taking out the battery, or otherwise rebooting actually seems to make the problem worse (the reminders trip over themselves and take forever to clear)
These problems only seem to occur when I stay in Phoenix (I know, a UFO sighting in more pausable).
The problems seem to subside within a day or two but I am not certain.
These problems don't seem to happen in any other city ! Took 4-5 months of traveling to realize this!
gulp ...
Has anyone else experienced anything close to this?
Try a new SIM card, especially if it is older. Sounds funny, but there's a lot of datafill in the HLR/MSC that are tied to specific SIM card ranges. I've seen switching SIMs fix all kinds of issues. Give it a shot... worth a try
It may be tied to the stupid t-mobile Arizona time zone problem. If the phone is set to sync with the time servers to keep accurate, then it will mess with everything else that relies on time. I have to keep mine unchecked for time synchro because otherwise it is an hour off and that changes everything in the calendar.
Next time you head towards Phoenix, try unchecking the automatic time/time zone option in your clock. You may need to reset the clock, but hopefully, it won't screw everything else up.
im in phoenix and nothing like this has happened to me lol. as stated above could very well be because of the timezone issues.
I sue my Tilt2 as my alarm clock, just as my previous device. I always pluged it in overnight and leave it on the Main TF3D screen so I can see the clock during the night.
This worked great with my original Tilt with TF2D.
However, with the new Tilt2, I will wake up during the night and notice that the message application is open.
Anyone have any idea on the cause and the prevention?
(It just occurred to me - is this a result of the OFF-PEAK sync? If so, I would like to keep the OFF-PEAK settings - just not have it open the Message application.)
Bumping - still looking for help with this issue.
Actually I notice that this issue already exist since the earlier beta version of WM6.5 but just amazed that this bug still exist in the official OS for my HTC Touch Pro 2.
Nobody ever encounter this issue?
I only have this issue when I use my Gmail thru IMAP. when I have Gmail Sync configured with ActiveSync this does nto happen.
It is probably your significant other looking through your phone while you are asleep... I had the same problem a couple of years ago, and when I broke up with my ex, it mysterious went away.
Or it could be the 6.5 bug that should have been solved months ago.
I actually caught the phone doing it twice in 5 minutes yesterday during a meeting.
I had just set the phone done on the TF3D home screen and in two mins, it switched to messaging, and I did not recieve any new emails.
Closed messaging, returned to TF3D home and it did it again. But then I watched it for the next 30 mins (it was keeping me up during the meeting) with the only interaction being a screen touch to keep it from timing out.
It never did it again.
I did change the setting on the Today screen, to return to the Today screen from 4 hours to one hour. At least when I woke up a couple of times last night - it was on the TF3D home.
My wife was sneaking my phone from me a few months ago - but that was to get all my contacts for the surprise birthday party she had for me!
Thanks for letting me know I am not the only one with this issue/feature...
tf3d tab openings
Yeah, my tilt 2 will open inbox view on it's own several times a day. Noticed it while it was cradled, and in sleep mode, woke up on the inbox view. It will also open from time to time, the last tab I used on TF3D. That combined with the magnet on my case causing it to awaken and / or unlock, got some pretty weird stuff eminating from the holstered phone.
Fixed the slide to unlock thing and the lock from default to classic, but this continuing annoyance of the mail opening on its own is making me consider to turn off TF3D, and that is the main reason I use this particular device.
I hope someone can find a fix for this soon.
Thanks,
Fix, maybe
I have been having the same problem with my ATT Tilt2.
Yesterday I added messaging to the exclusive programs list in the task manager. I think since I selected "enable the x button to end the running programs" when I closed messaging it shut the program down and then when messaging tried to check for emails (i have mine set for every 5 min) it popped the program up.
So far messaging has not popped open.
RH
mssage applicagtions automatically opens
I just set mine up the same way, will test over the weekend and see if that does it. My Fuze and Tilt to not exhibit this annoyance, even though messaging is not in the exclusive list. This may be a wm 6.5 glitch that we did not see in 6.1 and earlier.
I will repost after testing this for a few days to see how this all works.
Fix Seems to Work
I set my Tilt 2 to exclusive and it seems to have worked to solve this problem.
Fix procedure:
Open your email program and without closing it, open settings/task manager, then highlight the mail program, press and hold, and a window will pop up and option to set as exclusive. This will keep the program from closing when you press the X and therefore keep the program from popping up when pollling your email server.
Good work, and it seems to work after several hours of testing.

I followed your instruction by putting email in the exlusive and still stick with 1 hour, no more messaging application running in the background, thanks for your tip.
RESOLVED
It worked! The message application was not open when I woke up this morning.
Thanks!
Thanks to [email protected], all I did was validate his idea and write down the procedure. This is a good example of cooperation to solve in a unique way a quite vexing problem.
Anyone notice when you boot up your phone, you will still see the messaging running in the background until you close it then it will return to the Touch Flo page?
10 days ago I went to pick up my phone and noticed that the clock time didn't look right. When I looked at a regular clock I could see that my phone was 27 minutes slow. I thought my phone was syncing time with the network, but it's not and I can't even find a setting that allows that. I had to manually reset the time on the phone to correct it. I wondered if I might have changed the time by accident and passed it off as odd.
Two days later it happened again and then it happened again the day after that. Within a one week period this happened 3 times. I installed TimeSyncTZ to give myself piece of mind.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. If it keeps happening I think I might need to get my Tilt2 replaced.
Settings/clocks and alarms
Set the home time zone.
We have 2 tilt2's and this happened to both last week. We changed them to eastern US and i just saw mine was on indiana AGAIN,BUT my time is correct for eastern US
I thought it was possibly a time zone issue, but then it would have been off by an hour. My time zone never changed. It's always been set to GMT -6. In fact I have several time zones set up on my phone and they were all off by 27 minutes just like the local time.
The only thing that changed was the time on the clock as if I had gone and set it myself to some random time. The 2nd and 3rd time it happened it was off by about 30 minutes as well. It was if time stood still on my phone for a little while.
WM6 was freezing my Tilt last week. I got fed up troubleshooting and upgraded to 6.1 on Monday. Yesterday I noticed my time off by a few hours (and minutes) while the device was connected to my PC. It was about 11:15am and my device showed 8:07am. This was the 1st issue with time since I had the device. It wasn't a TZ issue and shortly after I disconnected from the PC, the time sync'd correctly with the network. The device did not match the PC time either. I'm continue to monitor, though.
Mine is yet again set to indiana for some reason. Doesnt make much of a difference i dont think. Same time zone. Odd that its not sticking hen i set to eastern
have you considered alien abduction as a cause for your missing minutes?
WTF!
I'm late to work this morning bacuase, some how, the phone lost 45 minutes over night! Just sitting there!
How the hell did that happen!? It's unacceptable!
This is a stock T-mobile USA.

I've been lucky that all three times it happened to me were during the daytime when I had a good idea about what the time really was. I couldn't help thinking about what would happen if it did that in the middle of the night and I got up late for work. I'd be in the same boat with you. I haven't used a watch or an alarm clock for years. This is the first time I've had a cell phone mess up the time like that.
Unacceptable is the word that comes to mind for me as well.
If you got to:
Settings -> Communications -> Phone (change settings) -> Advanced -> Time zones
The check box: 'Automatic change time zone and clock'
I had that set, so it should correct the clock if anything goes wrong... SURELY!?
I kept having this problem too (I'm on the East Coast, and it kept changing to Indiana). The only way I could fix it was to uncheck the "Automatic change time zone and clock" box on the Time Zones tab in phone options, and it seems to be OK now. Maybe the towers are off... Definitely weird and annoying.

Let's just say I haven't ruled it out yet.
Hi folks, having a slight issue with my TP2. It is running the preinstalled vodafone rom for the UK. (version 1.14.161.6 (50207) WWE)
Over the last two days it has stopped automatically powering down the screen when not being used. The backlight switches off as normal, but the screen does not shut down until i press the power button. So if I forget, the screen can stay on all night, killing the battery.
Have been into the settings,on the power screen, and checked all 4 boxes are checked for the times to shut off the backlight and screen on both battery and mains power, and they are.
Any ideas? I have not installed any new software so am stumped. Any common causes of this behaviour?
Cheers
Jon
did you change it through the manila settings tab or start/settings/system/power/backlight ? the reason why i ask is because sometimes when you set settings through manila tab settings, the settings dont work. try deactivating manila, then start/settings/system/power/backlight , then reactivate manila. hope that helps. if not im stumped too.
Is manila part of touchflo? If so I don't have it enabled, I just use spb shell on top of winmo 6.1, so yes was using start/settings/power method.
However, not sure if I have hit upon the problem - I use a program called g-alarm (which is one of the best programs ever), and in it's settings there is a way to keep the screen on when the alarm is snoozed. I recently enabled this, and wonder if it might have messed up the os settings somehow.
I tried uninstalling g-alarm last night and it made no difference, but since restoring a backup, and changing the screen-on setting within g-alarm to off the phone is working normally.
I daren't re-enable the setting to test it, just in case the phone gets messed up again for good this time so this might be a total red herring, and perhaps it was just the restore that did the trick (although have restoring before at least 3 or 4 times with no joy). Will report back when I dare to mess again.
cool to here you are back to normal lol. it would have been a major hassle if you had alot of apps, accounts and whatnot to reinstall. i got really pissed at g-alarm one time when it wouldnt stop going off (phantom alarm) so i will never use it again. you might want to find the thread from where you got it and report the bug. maybe someone else has the same problem and the developer came out with a patch or upgrade for it.
Had same problem on 2 phones
I had same problem on 2 phones- Tilt2 and Kaiser (Tilt). Problem was.... Microsoft Live. When mail account set to ..As Arrived... phone doesn't go to sleep and keeps screen on permanently. Battery was empty in half of the day. After I switched to use POP or IMAP mail and stopped using Live, everything became normal and works excellent.
Here is the Answer
Maybe you have played some games and did not close it by the normal way..
Try to change the registry:
自动关屏时间
HKCU\ControlPanel\BackLight\
"BatteryTimeOut" = 10
Then
另一种方法是在HKCU\ControlPanel\Power\
Display=25 改成自己想要的值
If there is not one, create it by yourself..
Well, it still happened today, so I think that rules out the g-alarm backlight setting. However, it worked fine most of the time, so intermittent.
Papasha, I think you could be onto something there, I do use MS live. Be a shame to lose the push mail though, but that's the next thing i'll try disabling if it recurs again.
Will try that too fishman if problem comes back, the backlight key is present but the display setting is not. Easily created though.
*post Updated on 28-1-10*.
The problem did start recurring again, so I tried the suggestion to disable the hotmail pushmail (sync items as they arrive) and that has definitely sorted the problem. As a very welcome side effect the phone suffers major slow downs far less now, if at all. I still use livemail but just set it to sync every 60 mins.
