Searching the FTP? - About xda-developers.com

I am kindof a n00b when it comes to FTP sites, so please go easy on me
My question is: is there any way to search the xda-developers FTP site? I have tried to find something in IE and Firefox, and I looked through the commands available in Windows' built-in ftp.exe and could not find anything...
Is there any way to do this (ideally w/o having to install more software)?
Thanks!

MDA PRO ROM upgrade

Hi all
My first post as a new MDA PRO owner HTC universal if I am not mistaken.
My question is that I am with Vodafone UK and am tying to flash my device with their latest ROM downloaded from their site.
I keep on getting the following message from the setup program i.e. "ERROR 120 COUNTRY CODE ERROR" 38-38-44-44-44.
What am I doing wrong as I thought these machines were all the same! Or is it just an attempt by Vodafone to stop me from putting their ROM on a Tmobile phone. If it is is there a work around?
Thanks in advance
Brian.
There are 2 ways to get it working.
1. Use MaUpgradeNoID Utility
2. Change some parameters with BAL666's HTC64 Tool
If you search the forum you should normally be able to find a manual for this.
If not, do not hesitate to use the Wiki:
wiki.xda-developers.com
section Universal
Thanks for that much appreciated
As I am new to this I think must be missing something as I have tried using MAUpgradeUT_NoID with no luck. I have also seen on the threads here about MAUpgradeUT_NoID_886 but cant find a download link for it.
If someone could give me a real idiots guide would be most grateful.
All done managed to get my thick head around it.
Just like to say what a great site this is and reminds me of early Psion days.
check buzzdev.net register there and go to the download page.
If you know something about computers, then try to reset the parameters. this was working for me! the NoID.exe doesn't look for these parameters, but that doesn't worked out for me.

device update and apps

sorry if this is a dumb question but i couldn't really find anything in the search
i'm trying out some different roms
some of them don't have anything installed except the bare bones os
what i'm trying to figure out is how/where to get all these apps, like htc home/touchflo/youtube, stuff like that
and how do you run deviceupdate? is that another app i have to dl or does it come with only certain roms?
thanks
if you take a look within my 4shared you will find all the cabs you need. the link is in my sig.
as for device update, it never worked... there is also a cab around for CRCinAU Device Update. i think that the cab is in my 4 shared as well.
You can go direct to CRC's site and get the ones you like.

Hi,
there is already a topic about my app here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=586654
Concerning the marketplace, it is available only on the french one for now. Non french users have to download it on my site (anyway the version on the marketplace is outdated)

[Q] Installed Facebook, now can't find it (?)

Hi!
m.facebook offered me to install Facebook app.
I have installed it, but it said that I have to install the signed version, so my phone stop asking for permissions. that also went well.
When I installed it, it offered me to start the app. It worked well.
Now I wanted to run the app again, but I cannot find it anywhere. It is not on the app list, it is not in program files, not listed on remove programs list, not on the storage card...
When I tried to install it again, it said that it is already installed...
What could I do more to find where it is?
Thank you in advance!
try with Facebook Tab v1.6 (+192xPatch) ~ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=651007
Thank you for your reply! I will try it.
But still I don't understand how is it possible that a program which worked normally when started first time cannot be found anywhere on the device?
It must be somewhere ?
Any similar experience with "invisible" installed program?
tnx
another idea would be to use XDA winmo facebook instead of the official app.
the official app is hardly more than the mobile version of the site with added image upload availability, while XDA winmo facebook is more similar to android's or ios's facebook app and can handle requests and places...
it can be found here:
http://code.google.com/p/xda-winmo-facebook/downloads/list
A good referrals Chef
Thanx for the answer!
You say "thanx for the answer", but you haven't had it! That official FB app is a Java app, and you will need to run the Java program, then select it from the list.
Cheers
