hello just need to know how do i install programs in the unlocked ex rom as when installing apps from active sync it only has 2 options 1 divice or 2 memory card ..
also if i do a cold reset will the stuff in the unlocked ex rom be deleted?.
Does anybody know how to change the Ext ROM? I searched on buzzdev and this forum and didnt find anything.
I would want to make an Ext ROM because I'm trying the different AKU 3.2 beta's and am reinstalling a lot.
Cheers in advance.
have a look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=251710
but why do you put your cab files in your unlocked extrom, install one of the aku 3.2 roms without the extrom and after that install you own cabs from your extrom?
I do it kind of this way with my sd card because I want to see what the guys put new in the extrom of the new aku3.2 variants.

Hello,
I have newbie question which should be pretty quick to answer...
I have a Cingular 8525 with the stock 1.34.502.1 Cingular ROM.
I've unhidden and mounted the Extended ROM using htweakc 2.0
Now for the newbie question...
What happens to the Extended ROM if I upgrade to WM6?
Do the contents of the Extended ROM get deleted and partition stays intact?
Does the Extended ROM partition get deleted completely?
I've read the threads and guides on upgrading to WM6 but I didn't find any info related to the outcome of the Extended ROM.
Cheers to all
Stays
From what I've seen the extended ROM stays completely intact. I've loaded my different WM6 ROM's and my extended ROM has stayed the same. Just make sure if you load LVSW's rom that you get the one with just the OS. His official release is the full package which will erase and replace your Ext ROM.

As the post above says your ext rom will stay intact.
How to flash:
WM6 XDA-Live 0.20.x
WM6 LVSW (26/3/07)
WM6 Black v1.2
Follow the guides you will be fine.
Thanks for the info MWillis561 and mrvanx
At least I know what to expect when I upgrade WM6 (hopefully this weekend).
Thanks again

mrvanx you may want to update your guide the differences between flashing OS only and OS & Extrom.
Thanks for your wonderful quide for newbie like me
Sorry, that's just not true.
Extrom on LVSW will be wiped and replaced with the content of the .nbh; documents and/or important information needs to be backed up first.
Other rom upgrades on here may or may not have an Extrom component.
LVSW does have an Extrom component.
Hi LegolasTheElf,
I was going to use the LVSW version....
Quick question, does the structure of the Extended ROM partition change (meaning, the total Extended ROM size get larger or smaller? does the partition get deleted and created again?)
or
does the partition stay intact and the contents of the partition merely gets deleted and replaced with the LVSW Extended ROM contents?
Appreciate the advice

Today, I answered my own question....
I finally installed LVSW WM6 and it looks like the Extended ROM partition is intact with no changes in size but the contents does get deleted and is replaced with the LVSW WM6 Extended ROM contents.

Have any of the Chef figured out how to use the EXT Rom for program memory or storage yet?
Fasten seat belts and prepare to catch WM6 for HTC Artemis
Here is Official(not hand made) Artemis WM6 OS dump!!!
Please do not ask me about anything!
I will not comment anything.
http://uploaded.de/?id=5g88lr - ROM ver 1.38
http://uploaded.de/?id=f1zt2f - flasher for SuperCID devices only
http://uploaded.de/?id=2qok1e - Artemis Another WM6 Rom ver 3.5 - not coocked - for SuperCID devices only
All in you hands!
Enjoy!
Well aren't you just a little treasure trove.
Have you looked at this Tupisdin?
Comments on this vs. home made ROMs, any applications installed?
Media Hub etc?
I do not know! I do not have device right now on hand.
I will upload SUPERCID flasher later.
From where did you get hold of this?
Asking questions although he said he would not answer them. Interesting....
I am curious to see the review from the first brave soul willing to try this out. It does seem peculiar that the phone image on the RUU is not the Artemis.

Ha, Good point, but I did take that to mean 'don't ask how I got it' more than don't ask any questions.

No, that wasn't to you, the guy who blatantly asked...where did you get this.
BTW - I flashed USPL to my phone, tried the RUU version of this update and it said the file is corrupt. I take that to mean the file is not meant for my phone. The first of the two downloads has a file called OS.nb. That must be where I need to focus my attention. I will update if there is anything new....
Am I being super dumb, all I see is one download of a rar file containing os.nb0
What's the RUU version you speak of?
(EDIT) Irrelevant post now original has been updated and post below, although I still not sure what you were looking at, at the time itschase.
Flasher for supercid devices is here.
http://uploaded.de/?id=f1zt2f
The second of the two links contained the RUU...unless the upload site gave me the wrong file....
I am about to try an experimental re-flash...I will post results.
what language is this?

Guess I am the retard, because I tried using the os.nb0 file with several different RUU's and none of them could open the file. I changed the extension to .nb and .nbh just for good measure with no luck.
Works...

Hi all just to let you all know tested this rom and all ok on my sim free (expansys) P3300.
I tried the "PDAVIET_Black&Blue_v3_WWE_Full" first-this was ok but phone would not switch on today, so i was thinking og going back to bepe's wm6 and saw this rom.
I used Artemis_USPL first, then the ROMUpdateUtility.exe supplied in the ARTE_WM6_FLASHER download quoted here (flasher for SuperCID devices only).
My details from device are now as below.
Rom version: 1.38.0.0 WWE
Rom date: 02/15/07
Radio version: 02.93.90
Protocol version: 4.1.13.42
There are not ext rom applications loaded with the ARTE_WM6_FLASHER (2nd link), and not alot installed in wm6, but my memory shows 47.89 free storage and 25.61 free program space.
Keep up the good work XDA....

After testing this rom I would advise everyone to use the version ARTE_WM6_3_5, the first release v3 looks like a cut down version of wm6.
The reason its fast is that loads of programs etc removed, no quickgps, no bluetooth explorer etc... also new radio stack is old version to?
Re flashing version 3.5 now which includes the missing apps.

I've got the solution!!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=297209
copy the patcher on your device...
execute it and then enable the extended_rom...
you now are able also to write files into it!!!
bye bye!!!
and thanks to the author of the patcher that patchs around 26000 bytes on original "dll"!!!!
I have the ANZ rom installed and followed the wiki to unhide the ExtROM and have no problems. In fact I've installed a few applications and selected the ExtROM as the location to install it.
Pardon me for being ignorant, but what is the benefit of installing to the ExtROM? Does it mean that when doing a hardreset the applications are still installed?
Maybe in this way you can UNhide and WRITE on the ExtROM, but in this case sometimes all files contents inside them become corrupted, because this method enable to write on extrom but don't correct bad sectors.....so, is useless...
Hi
If i flash Windows 6.5 ROM available in this Hermes forum to my hermes (JasJam) and i do not like to keep WM6.5 and want to go back to 6.1ROM.
Is is possible to Flash WM6.1 ROM ?
Can any one answer it clearly about this. Thanks
Yes you can.... If you have Hard SPL V7 then use the SD card method to change rom.
Before you do though, try out Tai_SW's 21109 wm6.1/6.5 hybrid. It doesn't have the titanium today addon or the hexagon app menu. Very quick and no real problems. Pretty lite rom with a large amount of storage space and ram, no games.
Cheers...
Thanks.. i searched but i think the 21109 v10 gloden globe links are no longer there
someone has this in signature and search result no longer provide links
GoldenGlobe V10 by TAI (5.2.21109)
can you post link please for downloading thread?
thanks
Search it here:

as for the Golden Globe:

HTH
Not Golden globe, I believe that is similar to a lot of the newer ones. It was just 21109 wm6.5.
Gypsygirl13 gave you the link, the first one.
Heres the link to the rom I'm using - http://www.4shared.com/file/83529289/5673e8c6/V5_Lite2G.html
and the 3G version - http://www.4shared.com/file/83559388/92966e77/V5_Lite3G.html

can this be done without hardspl..? coz my device already been hardspl before..? do i have to hardspl again before flash it back to 6.1..?
i'm always using sdcard method to flash roms, coz it's lot easier than using activesync, and less brickable (cmiiw)
thank you

If you have hardspl installed, then you never have to install it again. You can flash any hermes roms. Happy Flashing
I dont see why you would want to come back, but if you for some krazy reason decide to come back... yes its possible.
Hello Guys!
I just recognized that Windows Mobile 6.5 is very fast and that it also doesn't need as much memory as 6.1. But in every 6.5 ROM I found there's something missing I would like to have in.
Where can I get a WM6.5 Kitchen? The best would be when it is with the latest build available.
I Just don't know where to get this, and I never cooked before, just want to try with it (don't ask me why, I just want to)
It would be very nice if someone can give me a link for a kitchen.
Thanks in advance
regards
Fireblade310
danny_and_2 created a kitchen based on the 21500 build which you can find here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=503128.
Im also currently trying to create a kitchen based on the Stock HTC 2.03 rom and build 21501 using Ervius' Visual Kitchen but haven't been able to successfully port the XIP yet (device doesn't boot).
Thank you for your answer, I will have a look on it.
To prevent damages because of a non booting device the best way is to flash test roms via customRUU and to place a working diamimg.nbh on the internal storages, or is there any other way?
Regards
Fireblade310
I tend to leave a copy of the stock htc rom on the internal storage (as DIAMIMG.nbh) and flash my test roms using customRUU, that way i can always get my device up and running again quickly if things dont quite work out.
