Universal w/BT Jabra 250v Headphones small range - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro Software Upgrading

i'm usingM5000ruu with radio 1.03 (only one i could get to work in israel) and a custom Extended rom
does it have anything to do with the radio rom (as i suspect?)
the range is very low ... with the jasjar in my pocket and the headphone on the opposite ear i hear bad noises (static) if it's on the same side of the body it's ok ....
i've tested the headphones with a nokia 6021 and there was no problem with the range which was about 30ft or 10m ....
what is the problem ? .... next step is to try it on another universal ... the problem is that i can't get another one with the same radion version ....
so please help !!
thanks !

Working bluetooth headsets for PDA2K?

Hi! Just want to know which bluetooth headsets are compatible with PDA2K. I spent a lot of time in the shop yesterday, but for the life of me, I couldn't get the SE HBH-600 or the Nokia HDW-2 to work with it.
The HBH-600 got paired, but as soon as a call connected, the audio was switched to the handset, with the headset being disconnected. As soon as the call was dropped, the connection to the headset was resumed.
As for the HDW-2, I couldn't get it to connect. I really need a bluetooth headset pronto, because of the incidences of cellphone-snatching here in Karachi, so please could you guys help me out ASAP? Thanks in advance!
Hi There,
I use the Jabra 250 without any problems
Cheers
Pointy
I have tried 4 different headsets with the Blue Angel.
The current winner is the Cardo Scala 500...which is nice because its also the cheapest.
I'm using the older Sony Ericsson HBH-35 with mine and seems to work just fine. My only problems are that the battery on this one is dying a bit lately, but that's hardly the phones fault!
I am using the G2 Bluetrek as sold in O2 shops under the O2 brand.
Works...intemittently...sometimes great - sometimes very noisy - sometimes it looses connection! I also find that it seems to go to the highest volume setting at the start of every call which hurts my ears!

Well I have been using a Plantronics M3000 on BT Builds 3500 and then 3900 without any problems
Hallo!
I am using SE HBH 300, works fine with BT Builds 3500.
My older BT-headset Jabra 300 did´not worked, (could not answer 90% of the calls)
/M
Hi.
Im using the HBH 600 with both BT Build 3500 & 3900.
I dont experience any troubles with the 3900 build, only the poor range and sometimes a little crackling sound, but this seems to be the same for all BT headsets with the BA.
You can get the Build 3900 from the ftp in BlueAngel/Cab_files/Bluetooth Upgrades/bt3900.cab
I am using the Nextlink Bluespoon AX. Works fine for me.
R
I have a Sony Ericsson HBH-660 Akono and works great (except for the fact that the headset's display just shows the number and not the name...)
Joao Caldeira
I'm using the Jabra BT800, and it works perfectly, except for the caller ID showing just the number, and an annoying amount of static when going through an solid object (like my head :roll.
This is with bluetooth build 3500, and all the other headsets I've tried with this phone (SE HBH-65, HBH-300) have exhibited exactly the same problems with static through objects... would appear that the phone isn't giving the signal enough juice, or something? :?
Chris
Just took my old G2 to the O2 store and complained about it being so crap. They replaced it with a new O2 (Bluetrek?) one. Inital opinion is that it is a little better but not a lot - still noisy and complaints of it sounding bad from the other end.....
I'm using the Motorola HS810 and it works just great, actually after a soft reset the volume on the headset is too loud !
HBH-65 seems to work ok for me.
bosjo, it's good to hear that you have got the HBH-600 working. I am unable to do so. I had build 3500, but upgraded to 3900 after reading your post. Still no difference. I had noticed before that when I monitored the headset connection using Bluetooth Manager -> Active Connections, the status would be showing me a full signal, and intermittently, it would become red, meaning that the signal would keep going to zero, and coming back to full. This was even when the phone was hardly 6 inches away from the headset, in line of sight. I'm going to return my bluetooth headset tomorrow, and I wonder if I should get my handset replaced as well. I'm worried that since the problem wasn't fixed by the 3900 build, something may be wrong with my bluetooth radio hardware. Anyways, I am open to suggestions.
Look @ this... might help

I have a Bluespoon AX that works perfectly!!
Before that I had a Nokia HDW-2, it worked good too!
Hi all,
It seems the Nextlink Bluespoon AX gets a good press here with the XDA2s - so, where did you guys buy yours???
R
I'm using a bluespoon ax but mine definitely has that crackling sound. I'm using 1.0.0.3900. However, it's definitely not the headset because I've tried it with a magician and it works absolutely fine - friends told me it sounded the same as if I was speaking through the phone.
Sounds like the XDA2s bt stack still needs a lot of work - lets hope a rom upgrade comes out soon which mproves it - there realy is no excuse O2!!!

Bluetooth Headset - Bad Sound Quality

Hello,
how can I improve the sound quality of my bluetooth headset?
I've tried several headsets of different manufacturers
(I work at a mobile phones distributor so I had some to choose )
and with also different phones.
Nokia, Siemens, Motorola... almost every phone worked well with almost every headset.
But with my MDA-III it's a nightmare
Every headset I've tried has noise and clicking sounds and only works acceptable within about 50cm
I' also updated my Bluetooth Stack to 3900 but it didn't helped.
It there any way to get my Headset (Jabra BT250v) to work?
Thanks in advance,
Dino
hmmm - have to admit I've been attempting to use an I-tech headset (the cheapest one with the "tie-clip" mic and a wired earpiece) and I thought the poor reception (but only with certain phone calls oddly) was the headset being cheap tat - not the phone!
Every headset I've tried has noise and clicking sounds and only works acceptable within about 50cm Sad
I' also updated my Bluetooth Stack to 3900 but it didn't helped.

I too run .3900 and radio 1.08 I always had the *VERY SAME* trouble that you describe here..
I tried Ericsson 600 and 660 heatdsets, and I bought an EpoX HS02-BT it works for well over 10 meters with any Nokia or Ericsson phone I tested, It even works 10 meters with "QTEK S100" - but my 9090 sucks in this area.
I wonder if my (and yours) 9090 is somehow defect.

Unfortunely I have the same problem , and I really need Headset for working .
I tried Radio 10 and 3900 stack with some slight improvements then I tried The Jabra 250V with a SonyEriccson of a friend of mine .... everything was perfect sound , 10 meters away , automatic answering and so on .. I guess is an other OS ,
the posts around here state the BT stack from MS is faulty , just wondering if other Smartphone with WM have the some problem
I'm just waiting for a piece of sw that takes all us out of this incredible fiasco !

echo using the xda II mini with the nokia CK-7W

Hi i was just wondering if anyone had a solution fo this, people that i talk to on my handsfree kit say that there is a real bad echo that makes it very hard for them to hear me while using bluetooth. is there a solution?? are other bluetooth stacks compatible with the mini? what's the best one to use??
Thankyou in advance
Got the same problem the CK-7W and Blue Angel. The Nokia unit just isn't compatible, I've got it working but only when you have the volume down low, then it gets hard to hear when your on the road. I'm using the latest blue toothstack and it hasn't solved the problem....
I'm considering changing to the Parrot range of Bluetooth kits, anyone using these? Results?
if you can't get them replaced i have found 2 ways to solve the problem, you know that the headset piece is made of 2 parts, a plastics graish part that sticks to ur ear & a rubber blackish part (the one that contains the button for getting a call or hanging it) gently pull the rubber part out completly during a conversation & the problem will be solved instantly  since its not very practical way i tore (cut) the part of the button to make a small opening & that reduced the echo by 80% & still don't make me headset look stupid
Samething with the Parrot range of Bluetooth kits !!! i can't solve the problem at all
Strange.... others on different forums/posts seem to be praising the Parrot range. The Parrot equipment is flash upgradeable, they seem to provide the updates on their website have you tried that as well as upgrading your Phone ROM and Bluetooth stack?

xda2 headphone work with xda2s

hi
i have an xda2s an have relised that the original xda headphones dont work (only one side of the headphone works) with this phone neither does the c500 headphones or the e200 even though there all 2.5, i have many brand new 2.5 to 3.5 converters but now they dont work on the xda2s as well i presume its something to do with polarity, my question is does the xda2 headphone work with the the xda2s, the xda2 headphones are the ones with the answer andend call buttons plus the dial.
thanks alot.
btw ive lost my original headphones to soldering wouldnt help
Mine don't work. In fact they don't even fit because the XDA2 headphones have a wierd plastic bit on the jack which means they only fit the XDA2.
thats weird because my uncle has the xda 2i and that fits fine into my xda2s and that two has the answer and endcall buttons as does the one i want to buy,the htc people make it very dificult by making the 2.5 headphones not work with some modles. does the supplied xda headphone that you have also have the end and answer button. thanks
yeh, i know wat u mean...i have the same problem with the 2.5 to 3.5 conveter...with only one earphone working...if u fiddle with the postioning you will find that i works... so the theory that i have come up with is that i think the connections on the "jack" itself is different to standard, if you look on the "jack" there are 3 rings around it, which is left speaker, right speaker and micraphone...so i think that the rings are in a different order so when u plug anything else in it uses one side as a speaker and the other side as a micraphone...Well at least thats what i think but im sure its pretty accurate...but im open for correction...and if anyone has a solution to the problem then let us know... im using some earphones from motorola with a 2.5 jack and they are working perfectly, quality is a bit better than xda2s earphones, but thats about the best i could do...
hope there is a solution soon, i guess we just need the right 2.5 to 3.5 converter...if there is one...
I also had the same problem. When I bought mine new PDA2K device I tried to use my old XDAII headset and you're right -- it doesn't fit and it doesn't work. On www.expansys-usa.com I bought the PPC Techs 2.5mm/3.5mm converter for headset and for stereo headphone -- no luck doesn't work anymore with my new PDA2K.
I have noticed one thing though -- as standard 2.5 mm headset from RadioShack now works without any problems! I don't know why is it happening but they didn't work before with my previous XDA device... I also don't know if it is good or bad for PDA2K.
Does anyone know the internal wirings of new PDA2K and has it been declared that it will be officially compatible with the standard 2.5 mm headsets (which will been nice of course if it was).
Pretty good converters IMHO can be found at:
http://www.pocketpctechs.com/
thanks for all your imput.
my original questions was asked because ive lost my xda2s headset and was wondering if this headset from ebay would work with my phone. as i said before i have xda headphones that fit perfectly into the socket but yet only sound through one ear. im not intrested in a converter ive had enough of them. if i get a working headset then i may try the soldering later on.
could anyone just check if this headset may be compatible with the xda2s
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6411586495&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT&rd=1
i know for sure the xda2i headphones work fine in my phone.
thanks for your help
No they won't. There's already a thread about this somewhere. I can't remember who said it but someone mentioned that HTC must have shares in the Jack company as they seem to change the adapter for EVERY handset. It's so annoying that the 2.5mm to 3.5mm converter doesn't work as I can no longer use my XDA with a cheapy iTrip in the car.

BT headset - what distance does yours work at

i have an xda 2s with 1.13 radio and latest btooth stack and 1.31xxx rom
hi - its my first post over here but like many others been visiting for a while
my question is...
What range do you get with your BT Headset and if you have it in your left pocket and the headset on your right ear - does it work ok
i have a jabra bt250v and it is crap (yehhh yehhh read the threads here after i bought it :x and crackle continuosly)
which headset works best and at what range / distance (ps the jabra doesnt get more than 2 feet! - is this an xda 2s issue)
thanks in advance
I'm sorry to inform u bro that ur bluetooth headset is well functioning, and there's no problem with it....It's the BA bluetooth hardware that sucks!!!!!
This issue(BA bluetooth hardware) was discussed in many forums(not only xda-developers),with no avail unfortunately...(HTC is busy developing new devices, and not giving a $h*t to older ones like BA)
so bro, look no further for a bluetooth headset....it's not the cause.....
RAGO
darn
my wifes k700i phone works upto 30 feet away through 2 brick walls too
i was going to buy another headset but may sell this for a treo 650
really need a reliable hands free pda/phone
i thought the bluetooth transmitter was poor - seems i was right
its wierd as my navman bluetooth works 15 feet away - what gives
how does this work so far away the the headset wont
anymore views on headsets v distance
i really want to hang onto this xda 2s if possible
tell me your experience
cheers
My Motorola 820 works 2-3 metres away, but no more than that. Its good enough for use in my car, so I'm not to worried

Yes, me too, BT250 phone one side. headset the other and it is crap.
It was soooo disapointing as my 2 previous Jabras were super, my BT100 working 40 feet from the phone I had at the time.
WEASEL
do you get static with the headset if it isnt in line of view
i can literally hold my hand upto my ear while being 2 feet away and it loses the sugnal
how does the 820 compare
Firstly, a correction; I have a HBH-300, not a HBH-820 (that's what my wife has) - my mistake
With the HBH-300, I get little or no static, but can have problems if the headset is not near line of sight e.g. if my phone is in my trouser pocket, I sometimes get disconnected. Whenin my car, I don't have a problem irrespective of which ear I use the headset in
Me too.... doesn't know abt this after i bought Moto H700, at 1st i thou sometime wrong with the earpiece, but nw i know is xda2s...really disapointed !!
what about this one does it enhance the bt
