Help:Running Programs doesn't work - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

Running Programs doesn't work. The mini says "Error opening the shortcut or locating the target filename." I guess there is O2 related programs that must be installed first. But ,which cab I should install in ext_rom ? Thanks a lot.

strange story.
For these cases I have saved the appropiate cabs for TomTom: Navigator, GPS, Voice, Wizard.
I can now re-install without my PC.
Saving the cabs is possible when you do the install without the pocketPC connected and the search your machine for any cab files.
Remeber to put a file with the act code for TomTom if you really want to be independent for re-installing
first of all, thanks for the answerwell, can you be a little more explicit
I just tried what you told me and I can't find the installation files (cab) for the application
and actually the cd menu, is telling me to install the application first, but it doesn't give me the choice to do it
I guess there is a file somewhere, telling the navigator.exe is already installed
I don't get it

you should uninstall tomtom completely.
If not possible i suggest a hard-reset.
Then run the ttn3 SETUP.
Its ok to have the device connected, but DO NOT acklowledge the question on installing in the activesync application manager.
Do a global search on your machine for *.cab
The names are indiative

Installing Tomtom 5 on WM5

Has anybody succeded in installing Tomtom 5 om BlueAngel with WM5? I was trying the proposed solution from another post where you should put the .cab files on an SD-card and then installing them from there. The result I get is that the the installation of the first cab file was unsuccessfull, nothing else.
I'm wondering if there is any other (working) way of installing the program, and getting it running with the maps.
Any ideas?
I think that TomTom has to provide an update to support WM5.
This should not be a "WM5 on BA" Problem.
I installed it by copying the files to the sdcard and running then from there, once its running, after the initial setup, I choose a map, then it just exits.

Can't find the solution. Where should I look? URL please !
I got this problem aswell,
I put the cabs onto my SD card and ran them, they all install fine, then upon running TTN5.1 it goes through the wizard then after i select the voice it bombs out.

Universal Custom ExtROM Issues

Hi everyone,
I made [a while back now] an ExtROM for the Alipine device. I am trying to convert this to the XDA Exec [Universal] device and have got as far as getting my custom software onto the rom and flashed to the device, it appears to run the Autorun.exe, read my config.txt and actually looks like it is installing. Problem is, nothing actually gets installed!!!
I am very confused right now
If I run the updates manually, they work but prompt me for an install location [memory card or device], could this be why nothing is happening?!? Is there something extra i need to do to the cab files maybe?
Any help would be appreciated
Do you also get the prompt about un-signed programs when installing manually?
Sadley no i do not, and the really really odd thing that i should of mentioned is that we wrote 2 .exe files that basicly cull parts of the registry and certain files which work as standalone apps and in the XDAIIi ExtROM but as a part of the Universals ExtROM does nothing...it really does look like i am missing something here, but what
I did have the same sort of problem in the ExtROM I just completed.
Only I am using my ExtROM as space for installs so dont know how to resolve problem

corrupt installations of programs

Hi,
Could anybody provide help for me? My P3300 doesn't seem to be able to install any programs / games anymore?!? What to do, has anybody had the same experience?
Once I install a program from my desktop PC to the P3300 or when I copy the CAB-file straight to the P3300, I get the standard installation screen: "choose a location.....Device, Storage Card or Bluetooth...blablabla"
But when I tap either one, let's say Storage Card, the thing is loading and a 2 seconds later I get the same screen, but with the message: "pocketxpdf.sf.net pocketxpdf cannot be installed. To try installing again to a different location, choose a location: Device, Storagecard or Bluetooth."
How is this possible all of a sudden? Never had problems...there is enough storage space, I've never updated the ROM, just a soft-reset doesn't work either. I don't want to do a hard-reset yet until I know a way to export my Contacts so I don't have to bring them in manually again after a possible hard-reset. (since i cannot install the program EasyHelper anymore...)
Anyone have any clue, what could be wrong?
My Specs:
HTC P3300 UK
Original ROM version
WM5
Installed programs:
Windows Vista Skin
Battery Status
Pocket Mechanic
SBSH Clock
Resco Explorer
PSshutXP
Pocket Painter
Wisbar Advantage 2
TomTom WE full
Games:
Battleship
Chess
Worms
Many thanks if you could help me out!

Had you checked the Artemis Wiki pages you could have found a possible answer. There has been an official patch released by HTC for SD cards getting corrupted. http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Artemis_Problems
FIXED!
Sorry mate, but my problem had nothing to do with SD-Card bugs.
I already fixed my problem, see:

But thanks for your reply.

Java / Opera Mini

I've discovered the wonders of Opera Mini...
My ROM includes Esmertec Java... I was wondering if there's a way of launching Opera directly from a shortcut rather than having to load Esmertec first, and if there's a way to bypass/default the security/connect questions when starting the applet? I'd really like operamini to replace Pocket IE on my hard button....
"\Program Files\EsmertecJbed\jbed.exe" -run s0_
where 0 is the number of installed java application
Hope this helps

Any way to get round the 'go online' permissions warnings?
Hint for anyone else - you don't need a return at the end of the link line, otherwise it won't work.
I found some info on removing the onlune authorisation stuff, editting the selector.utf file, but really cannot get it to work - anyone got any cluse? please?
Check this out, you might like it:
Opera Mini 4 on Windows Mobile as Default Browser
Got everything working - here's how...
Took some playing. Got the shortcut to work, but not the online warnings. Turned out that I couldn't change it because the version of jbed was in ROM. Installing a new version over the top fixed it.
I also found a cab file that creates the shortcut, removes the security warnings, and makes it default browser for urls in emails... it also installs mortscript to enable it to do this. I've attached all relevant files below. Browse to www.operamini.com and downlaod the high memory version to install on your device first!
Oh, another hint - if you aren't running any other java apps, delete the contents of windows\appdb before starting to clean everything out.
If installing the cabs, do all to device and not storage card.
Then allocate it to the IE Button, and you have Opera Mini as default browser!
excellent! been wondering about this for a while!
Cheers!
o2 wap flat
Hi,
does anyone know how to use the Opera in conjunction with the O2 WAP flat option? I'd really appreciate if someone could guide me on the settings to take!

Hello, I have a file "WM6 OperaMiniAsDefaultBrowser - WithoutSelectionDialog.cab", and she works correctly, but at the start java, get the error message "could not find s0_" and then opens the opera mini. My question is is it possible to remove this message?
Thanks.
