I own this phone and I am unaware of any FM Radio function other than internet stations...
yeah thank you. I also found answers on this forum that only the Korean version of E985 has FM radio.

I think in US, all the good stuff is removed.
Hey so I'm seeing various answers in regards to our phones having FM radio capability in the hardware or not, some people are saying it doesn't period since LG didn't put it in from the factory , others are saying on some international models of the LG optimus G pro, they have this capability. I know for sure the phones don't come with the FM radio APK period but I recently came across the Spirit FM radio app that has the FM radio working on the LG G2 even, was wondering if our phones have the hardware to run FM radio or not or if the FM radio board is grounded? I run the app and it tells me to connect a headset and at first I was actually getting a signal but eventually dropped to 0, went through lots of posts in which some users said it works some said its impossible, my model is the e980 by ATT so its possible my board is grounded since its not international
I'm a owner of the international model, e986, fm radio was the only feature I misses from my previous device.
Like you, I want to now witches boards have this ability. I think isn't possible to activate the radio with software.
I'm looking at an HTC One M9 (Verizon) for a host for LineageOS and before buying I'd like to get to the bottom of whether it has FM radio or not. Verizon's specs make no mention of an FM radio but I haven't been able to find anything stating Verizon 'deleted' the FM radio from the 'regular' M9. And I do know at least one case where Verizon deleted the radio from a 'regular' spec phone because I have one (Samsung Galaxy Core Prime S820L). So I'm wondering if anyone knows whether Verizon deleted the radio hardware or if the Verizon-specific ROM just doesn't have a radio control interface. IOW, will it have a functioning FM radio if I put LineageOS on it?
The answer is: Yes. I flashed the phone to LineageOS 14.1 (Android 7.1.2) an the FM radio is indeed working.
Hi, I've heard that some variants of the A50 have FM radio receiver activated. Does anyone have information of the the product code and region of the models with FM radio?
Thanks!
My SM-A505FN 4/128GB has FM. I don't know about other variants.
A505F has FM
its not about the variants (F/FN/...) but it depends on country lows(in some countries probably they need to pay taxes for fm radio) .asian and middle east models come with the radio app preinstalled, european models dont have fm radio but the hardware is probabmy there. you can find the stock radio app here and you can use third party apps from playstore some of them are reported to work with a50
Some European firmwares have Radio, but yeah it's a hit or miss.
Do we know if US variant has or not builtin FM Radio tuner ?
It would appear that it doesn't or that it's disabled by default.

I think this has been the case for the last few years
since the thunder bolt, ancient times that was, never on verizon network
Fm Still lives
US FCC requires it for use in Emergencies. Samsung was threatened with a Lawsuit on that one. It is in the S20. You need an adapter for the USB-c port to headphone jack and plug in a headphone cable (antenna) THEN try to find it. It works on a ATT reseller phone.
Has any developer been able to find the FM radio "on/off" switch on any ROM they worked with? NextRadio seems to be the only app that can see if the radio is enabled. I have the unlocked no carrier version of the S20 Ultra. I won't be seeing any unlocked FM radio any time soon. I've had luck with my T Mobile S7 Edge FM radio. If T Mobile were to unlock the S20 FM radio, would flashing a T mobile Rom fix me up with a working FM radio?
