Vodafone v1605 / Herm200 - Rom upgrade - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

I have a Vodafone UK badged v1650 / Herm200. Rom version is reported as 1.20.161.5 (06/06/06).
I have been attempting to upgrade to (what I believe is) the latest Rom versio - vf-uk_qtek9100_aku2_v21779300_wwe_ship.exe, but repeatedly get an Error 224 Device Not Responding.
I have performed a warm boot, with the same effect and a cold boot to wipe all information does display a prompt on the Qtek asking for approval for a program to run (ru...........exe). However, if the Yes option is accepted, the same 224 error is eventually returned. Repeating the upgrade then only gives the 224 error and no prompt regarding allowing the programme to run.
What am I doing wrong? Is it not the correct upgrade, despite being downloaded from a Vodafone site?
I've also tried using 9100rom with push mail_ship.exe which I believe is QTEK's own version, but get the same problems.
Any suggestions?

The QTek 9100 is a totally different device. There is no Voda ROM as yet for the v1605.
Can't wait for one to turn up though!

Thanks.
Obviously Vodafone don't have much idea themselves. I contacted to customer services and was told Tech Support would contact me. I later got a text effectively saying "ask the manufacturers"!

Problems Unlocking Orange SPV M1000 (XDA 2 clone)?

I am trying to unlock my new Orange SPV 1000 I have used the new XDAunlock to no avail, I successfully installed the new program on the device, ran it and got the message successfull repair!! However when I tried my vodafone sim, it asked for the unlock code!! I have tried several times with the sim in and without. Does this new program not produce an unlock code?
Ideas anybody?

Same XDA II Problem
I have the same result. Just received an Orange M100 (XDAII) in UK at my office. Downloaded updated program, ran fine without any errors. Attempted to install my US T-Mobile SIM... asks for unlock code. The Orange SIM works fine. (When in US, need to use local T-Mobile SIM.)
Update program must need another update unfortunately. (Darn Orange)
Follow-up to previous post...
Forgot device details, apologies.
ROM Image: 1.60.00 WWE
Radio Version 1.10.00

ExtROM: 1.60.38
Are you sure it isnt asking for the sim code rather than the phone code? You say you used xdaunlock, you should be using xda2unlock.
Response
I stand corrected... I was using the correct (XDA2UNLOCK) version. I failed to type the correct version in my previous post.
Yes, I'm confident this is not a SIM unlock prompt. It clearly states that this is a Network Provider Unlock prompt.
Thanks.
unlock
i also buyd a spv m1000 in switzerland an want to try a unlock.. so friends please help this man... 8)
Having just tried the lastest version of xda2Unlock, I'm having the same problem.
I copy the xda2unlock program and run it with my ORANGE SIM installed. It says all is fine and tells me to switch flight mode on and off.
I do that then take out the battery and install my Vodafone SIM. The M1000 then starts up showing "MY Info". the signal meter shows an exclamation mark and when I tap the screen it asks me for my normal SIM PIN. I put this in and the next screen says "Service Provider is locked, Please input unlock code" and has a box and an ok button.
If I try any number, including my SIM unlock code, it comes up with a box saying "Invalid Unlock Code" and it says "You have tried -2147467258 times, please wait until timeout..."
ROM version - 1.60.00WWE
ROM date - 12/03/03
Radio version - 1.10.00
Protocol version - 1337.18
ExtROM version - 1.60.38
Model Number of m1000 - PH10A
I hope you can help me as I'd really like to get this voda SIM working in it.
Thanks in advance
---UPDATE---
P.S. - Just W4XY's post in another thread from this morning ....

Actually this is not completely true. There are two versions for unlocking an XDA 2. Unfortunately named the same (xda2unlock.exe), but they can be found in two separate threads in this subforum. Read the first post carefully. The latest version is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=6963
The newer version writes a lock 00000000 to the phone and then unlocks it. However, this process is still quite secure. I have had no report of a phone not working due to unlocking. All problems were in the end related to SIM cards not working (old or blocked) or the phone itself being blocked (insurance claim). One problem that still remains is that Orange phones do not seem to unlock (but the phone remains working normally). That is being worked on.

In the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=6963 a new version of xda2unlock (version 2.2) has been posted that should perform better on Orange phones.
And thanks to me for posting the Orange M1000 ROM to you in the first place )))
Just joking, it works great guys, unlocked my M1000 in a few seconds.

xda1 pw10b1 hangs at startup

hi i have xda1 with t-mobile
it only shows t-mobile and hangs there
it shows
t-mobile
4.01.19
which rom should i use and what is the method to write that rom
Thanx in advance
Normally you should see ROM Version (in you case 4.01.19) and also 2 other Version. But I´m sure, you do not see this numbers....
I think you have flashed the wrong radiostack to your device and now you have GSM Error when you enter the bootloader....
Try this instructions:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Wallaby_HT_GSMError
Stefan
any thing else
i ve downloaded the same rom version on my phone but still it hangs at the startup with showing
3.17.03
with no radio versions and etc.
The phone was fell down from me and it started the problem from same time.
plz give me solution it is very urgent
You may have damaged some internal component when you dropped the phone. Are you pushing resetting the phone after flashing, by pushing once in the hole under the headset socket then wait one minute and push once more.
You are saying that you have ROM version 4.01.19
If I remember correctly that ROM version can only be unlocked using the SD card method. Is it possible that somebody tried to unlock it and screwed it up?
Either way it sounds like you need a new main board for it.
my phone is finally ok with some problems
i ve successfully made my mobile in working condition by some technical methods but i still have some problems with its software. from where i can get the exact radio stack for being used here in Pakistan. is it wants auto configuration but my operator and country is not listed in that menu.

WM6 on Qtek (htc) S200

Hello everybody.
I am trying to update my phone, with WM6.0, however I am getting a country id error. The version I got for testing reasons is WWE. My IMEI is 35703600732450***
Could anyone help me, how am I suppose to achieve that?
there are flashtools with noID.exe in the end which dont
fail on country id errors
try looking for your device at buzzdev.net
Thanx Rudegar
However, I have an unlocked device. I unlocked it throud imei-chek.co.uk paid service. Will this help, or I still have to use a noID.exe?
If you have your device unlocked than that error shouldnt occur. However if you still get it then its inevitable i'd say to use the noID RUU.
my himalaya was never sim locked
but if i try to flash it using HimaUpgradeUt.exe i get
that error
when i flash it using HimaUpgradeUt_noID.exe
i dont
the noID at least in my case have to do with operator settings
not simlocks and the likes
if the rom dont know the operator code it will give that error
Ok, thanx. I got the files from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1361468#post1361468 and everything worked fine (except that Thai keyboard...)

Why?! - Orange Network Lock when Radio Upgraded

Hi,
I was wondering if some of the smart folks at xda could answer this question:
What have Orange UK done to their sims/phones that cause a network lock when you upgrade the radio?
I know you can just flash an older radio and everything will be fine but I don't understand WHY there is an issue when the radio is upgraded.
Anyway, looks like I'm unlucky, I tried to get an unlock code for my desire but have found that my IMEI doesn't exist in the database the guy was using (he told me that there would be a db update in a few days and refunded my money, decent guy!)
Did you update the radio and keep orange rom? or update radio and also change rom

I have flashed an unbranded rom (currently running the modaco rom) and I want to upgrade my radio but everyone who bought their phone from orange seems to get a network locked message when they upgrade their radio to the latest version.

Not sure why this happens, but I would advise you not to upgrade to the latest radio (32.37.00.32U_4.06.00.16_2) if you are sim-locked to Orange. The solution would be to have the phone unlocked allowing you to flash the radio and not have the Network Locked message appearing.
When you tried and failed to have it unlocked, was this directly via Orange themselves?
Try this company - http://www.mobileunlocked.co.uk/HTC/Desire/
Seem to be pretty efficient and provide the unlock code within 30 mins, not a bad price either.
Here are some reviews about them: http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews136584.html
I've actually tried that company and two others, every one of them has said that my IMEI number does not appear in the database. I just got the phone on Thursday, could that be the reason it doesn't seem to exist in the databases yet?
I think so... because it's probably a newer version of the Desire, HTC's databases (where the code is requested from) might not be updated yet.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Regarding the unlocking - i had the same issue, desire 2 weeks old orange. Found a thread on xda mentioning an ebay unlocker - took the plunge, 30 mins 8.99!! after 3 other sites failed with database excuse! ebay item: 300434867258
I would never have dreamed of trusting an ebay unlocker, but have to eat my words, this one cheap, quick and pleasant!
I unlocked, made goldcard, ran generic rom 1.15, setup wifi, allowed update to install - all good no wifi issue.
Unfortunately that is the very ebayer that I tried, he did refund me my money really quickly though, I just hope my code gets into a database soon
Does orange have to tell HTC that they have sold the phone so it gets into their database, I would have thought that it would be in the database as soon as it left the factory!?
I used unlock-systems.com after another vendor couldn't provide my code and refused to give me a refund. Paypal refused to give me a refund too so I'll be avoiding those cowboys in future.

Non-Standard Error Message on LG Dev Bootloader Unlock Site?

Hello,
I purchased an unbranded, open EU model H815 LG G4 (from Handtec) with the hopes of unlocking its bootloader through the service LG provides on their dev website. I was able to follow the steps in order to procure my device's IMEI number and Device-ID, and despite entering the information correctly, I get rejected with the following error:
Service unavailable. Please contact the site administrator ([email protected])
I have double and triple checked the information entered. The IMEI and Device-ID both clear the checks with an "OK." I have tried using multiple browsers and operating systems. I have tried completing the process on my home network, work network, and even on my cell phone's data network. I have tried a few times each week for two or three weeks now. I always get this same error message.
It is my understanding that this is NOT the usual message that one receives when trying to unlock a carrier-branded H815 or some other country's non-supported H815 variant (such as the Taiwanese model). I'm also pretty sure that other folks who imported their kits via Handtec had no issues unlocking. In Settings, the phone shows as an LG-H815 device and is currently running firmware software version V10b-EUR-XX. It IS currently rooted using Team Codefire's low effort root method, but now with Xposed finally running, I'd like to unlock the bootloader and get my game on, so to speak.
Is there anything I can do to complete the process?
I did send an email to the site admin as instructed by the error message, but I'm not terribly hopeful that they'll be able to help.
Thank you in advance,
I had that message the first time I tried. I tried several times but no go.
I tried again the following day, and it worked fine. May have been an LG site issue??
Thank you for taking the time to reply.
I suppose I'll up the frequency of my retries and hope for the best.
Pretty standard HTTP 503 error code. It's exactly as it says - service unavailable. It likely nothing to do with your inputs.
Yeah, I figured it was nothing those first few days too. But it's been going on for a few weeks now, regardless of browser, OS, and network.
I did hear back from LG, and they advised clearing my cookies and trying again.; and replying back if it continued to fail. Which it did, so I did. Heh.
