You have multiple options and it depends on what you exactly want to keep.
All contacts, apointments and tasks are stored in the pim.vol on the root of the ppc.
1) Just copy this file on your sd card using resco explorer. or from Windows Explorer via ActiveSync. If you have to make a restore, just rename the pim.vol in the root directory, copy back your backup, do a soft reset and delete the renamed file.
2) use spb backup from spbsoftwarehouse and select PIM only.
3) use ppcbckpcontacts which will create a csv file, that you can edit on your pc with Excel.

[backup] scheduled file sending via email batch

Hello,
I would like to send automatically via email my PPCpimbackup .pib file.
So at given time a file is created, and I'd like it to be sent via email as attachment.
On windows or linux I'd use a scheduled task to use sendmail blat or mutt or uuencode to send the attachment.
I suppose that there is a way using mortscript. Any ideas
The app is scheduled to create a backup of data and specific files & folders into a zip file. The directory is given and could keep only one file per time if there was no fast way of choosing the file to send
I think it would be great if the author of the app added a "execute before" and "execute after" the backup task. I'd then add a few registry keys and after upload it to ftp or send via email...
So any way of auto sending a file via email via a scheduled task / morstscript and maybe also via ftp mirroring as a choice?
Last thing would be to batch encrypt the file as it would travel via email or simple ftp.
Thanks!

Convert PIM Backup contacts to .vcf files

Is there a way to do the above?
Basically, I already have a PIB Backup (.pib) file and I want to extract the contacts from it. I used WinRAR to open the .pib file and extracted the contacts (.csc) file from the .pib.
I then want to convert the contact in the contacts file (.csc) into individual vCard (.vcf) files.
Is there a way to do it?

Any easy way of moving sms from symbian to HTC One V ?

I bought HTC One V yesterday. I've tried many methods given on Internet but I am unable to transfer my messages to this phone from Nokia E72. Can anyone help me in doing so ? Any good free app for converting sms from symbian to xml so that I can use 'sms backup & restore' to retrieve the messages ?
No replies yet. Please help, I don't want to loose my messages.
Use Ovi Suite 2.1 to sync messages to PC and then install the app Nokia2Androidsms on pc to convert the sync'ed file to an XML file. Copy the XML to phone and then restore using SMS Backup and Restore.

I tried this Nokia2Androidsms but it creates a 0kb xml file, is this normal ? I had like 1000 sms, this doesn't make sense.
Edit : Sorry I used the latest version of Nokia suite, where can I find the older versions ?

Any way to edit the SMS backup file?

I had an issue and lost some of my texts stored in Onedrive but had a recent backup however it always fails before completion due to the number of messages. It seems the file can be read as an XML file so I wonder if that makes it possible to be edited so I can split the messages and restore in smaller chunks. Any possible solution? Thanks.
contacts*messages backup cant do the job?

No, it's the output file i want to edit, the app just dumps everything into one file.
