Hello,
I would like to send automatically via email my PPCpimbackup .pib file.
So at given time a file is created, and I'd like it to be sent via email as attachment.
On windows or linux I'd use a scheduled task to use sendmail blat or mutt or uuencode to send the attachment.
I suppose that there is a way using mortscript. Any ideas
The app is scheduled to create a backup of data and specific files & folders into a zip file. The directory is given and could keep only one file per time if there was no fast way of choosing the file to send
I think it would be great if the author of the app added a "execute before" and "execute after" the backup task. I'd then add a few registry keys and after upload it to ftp or send via email...
So any way of auto sending a file via email via a scheduled task / morstscript and maybe also via ftp mirroring as a choice?
Last thing would be to batch encrypt the file as it would travel via email or simple ftp.
Thanks!

When I download e-mail in Pocket Outlook, I can see the attachments but I cannot open or save them. I think I'm doing everything as I should: after a "send/receive" the message arrives in my inbox; I hit "mark for download" to get the full version including attachment, and I click send/receive again. But after that, when I click the attachment or tap-&-hold it and click "save as", nothing happens.
Strangely, the attachments do get downloaded to the Windows/Messaging/Attachments folder, where they reside in the form of ".att"-files with long codenames. I can even open them by changing the extension (for instance to ".doc" for word files), but this is a pain as I have to copy them to another folder and try every single file since there's no way of recognizing them by their file names.
I have restored from a Sprite Backup once or twice, and since I understand these mailboxes are pretty complicated structures to recreate, I'm wondering if this could have caused the problem.
I have the following mail boxes in Pocket Outlook:
Text messages and MMS (standard)
ActiveSync, with a LOT of synchronized messages, all without attachments though (to save space)
Two e-mail accounts, one POP3 and one hotmail (with Adriansoft's HTTPmail plugin). This is where I sometimes need to download attachments. These messages usually get deleted pretty quickly, as I store everything in Desktop Outlook and keep my online mailboxes empty. However, I've noticed that even attachments from deleted messages are kept in the Windows/Messaging/Attachments folder.
Operating system is Pocket PC 2003 SE.
Has anyone had this problem before? As I don't have any attachments I need to keep (none in ActiveSync folder, and the POP3 and hotmail accounts are emptied into Desktop Outlook regularly), do you think it's safe to delete all the files in the Windows/Messaging/Attachments folder? Would this perhaps help (by forcing Pocket Outlook into a "clean start" organizing attachments)? Hard resetting and rebuilding from scratch is not an option, I'm afraid, as I use my device intensively and don't have the time to do this.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Hi Robrecht
I have been having the same issue.
Have you mannaged to fix yours yet?
What you can try if you have restored using SpriteSoftware before is using there cleaning software. It will basicly clear and reset all your mail folders, attachment databases..etc..etc.
http://www.spritesoftware.com/downloads/CleanMail.zip
Please let me know how you go and if you have found a way of fixing your problem if you have already done so... This file did not fix my issue but is has fixed others with attachment issues.

Same Problem here.
Anyone find a solution yet??
Thanks!
Change registry keys that points to attachments location
Got the same problem on my iPAQ 5550.
Don't know which application setup caused the problem, but I found a solution changing some registry keys that points to attachments location.
First of all I suggest to backup your pocket pc data.
Open windows notepad or other text editor
Copy and paste the following lines:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox\Attachments]
"BottomDir"="Attachments"
"MiddleDir"="Messaging"
"TopDir"="Windows"
"AttsDir"="\\Windows\\Messaging\\Attachments\\"
"Moving"=dword:00000000
Save the file as FixAttach.reg (or choose a different name mantaining the .reg extension).
Copy the file on your pocket pc, and tap on it.
Let me know if it works.

Hi,
I've an email account which I can access only with a client side cert. With a desktop application like Thunderbird, it is no problem. I just import the .p12 file, go to account settings->security and selecting the imported certs. Works perfectly.
BUT..
on Windows Mobile, I've imported this .p12 file just by clicking on it, and I can see it in settings->system->certificates, but I don't know how to tell poutlook to use this cert.
Is there a way to tell this to poutlook at all? Or if not, is there another email client that can handle client side cert?
thx.

hmm.. maybe I should try to post this to another forum...
try Seven:
http://www.seven.com/
After tons of hours trying, and importing a bunch of certs to windows's cert store I found a completly different, but WORKING solution!
Though the solution is a bit low-cost, but it's working at least. Here it is:
1. Download stunnel from here: http://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/networking/stunnel/wce/stunnel-4.15-arm.zip (or choose your preferred server from here: http://stunnel.mirt.net/?page=downloads)
2. Extract it to /stunnel on device's memory (NOT on SD card!)
3. Copy your client side cert and key files to this directory. If it's in .p12 format, then extract it.
4. Create stunnel.conf in the same directory (/stunnel)
5. The contents of stunnel.conf should be something like this:
cert=/stunnel/clientcert.pem
key=/stunnel/clientkey.pem
delay = yes
[imap]
accept=127.0.0.1:10143
connect=your.imap.server:993
client=yes
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
6. Simply start tstunnel.exe (you can also start stunnel.exe, I did not find out what exactly the difference between these two executables)
7. Configure your email acoount in poutlook, and set the incoming server to this: 127.0.0.1:10143
If you did everything right, the next send/receive should be working!
Enjoy.
I've got Bluetooth working correctly, I can get to my device via OBEX FTP without problems, I can send files via OBEX PUSH using f.e. builtin photos application (of course only for photos).
My question is how to send any file via PUSH? F.e. on Samsung Galaxy S in file manager (estrong, astro) if you long tap on a file -> send you've got bluetooth option. On desire there is no such sender registered.
Isn't this supposed to be standard android functionality?
I bought a license for TitaniumBackup Pro and they emailed me a zip file containing the license. I'm now using a GN and I can't download the zip file because its a potentially dangerous file type.
Without access to a PC, how do I get thiis license?
What email are you using? Email app, gmail app.. webmail?
My CM7 gmail won't let me download attached zip files so i use the Browser, Mobile Gmail page instead.
Gmail and built-in email app.
Will try the browaer method!
Look on the market for an app called Save My Attach. It should let you save any attachment regardless of file type. There's also another app i use called Attach My Files or it may just be called Attachments. That app lets me attach anything i want in Gmail. Make sure the TB license TXT file is in the root of your sdcard when you run TB for the first time so it applies the license. Good luck.
Save my Attach. Great tip, thanks!
Well save my attach would be great if it worked. I just sent myself a zip file and got the same error LOL. I think i like the 2.3.x version better.
I might be missing something here, but when I want to attach a file from my Dropbox to an email I'm sending using the stock email app, I select the attach option, then 'my files'. From here I can't find where my Dropbox files are located. Before Kitkat, I recall there being an option to browse the Dropbox folder. I found a workaround where I choose to attach an image, which DOES give me the option to browse my Dropbox folder, then select the 'show all files' option, then just select any non - image file I want to attach. It'd be easier to be able to browse all my files in one place though. Anyone with experience know what I'm doing wrong, if anything? Thanks.
You are better off sending a link to the file.
