VGA from MDA III? Is it possible?! - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

Hi,
Does anyone knows is it possible to connect external LCD touch screen display with VGA input to MDA III?
My idea is to use MDA III as car PC connected to bigger 7" LCD touch screen display such as XENARC 700IDT or XENARC 700TSV.

All ides and help in that direction would be gratefully appreciated! If any additional hardware and software necessary for such modification I'm willing to buy it at reasonable price!
Thank you
Best regards,
Darko

it's a question whether the xenarc supports wm5 or not...and...it says, that the touchscreen communicates with a cable...so it might not be easy to make them work together...

Hi nyuszi,
Thanks for replay.
I decide to go simpler way in resolving my idea but not cheaper unfortunately for car navigation & entertainment system so I buy Pyle 6.5'' Motorized In-Dash Double DIN AM/FM-MPX/TV Monitor DVD Player w/Touch Screen Control.

Navigation Options??

Hi All
Having read through the various threads I still don't have a clear idea of what SatNav options there are for the XDA Exec and which people have been satisfied with.
I drive in the UK and I'm looking for the navigation software, windscreen mounted car cradle, Blue Tooth aerial and car charger. I would be grateful for any recommendations anyone has.
I used to use TomTom3 with my XDA2 and I can't say I was that pleased with it. Is 5.2 any better? Are there any real alternatives? Is there a particularly easy/cheep place to buy it? Am I better buying a package that includes everything or should I buy separates?
Many thanks in advance for your help.

Artemis VS Orbit. Which one?

Hi. I'm selling my XDA EXEC soon so i can buy a smaller pocket PC. I really like the look of the Artemis/Orbit but i can't decide which one to get. I was all set to buy the the Orbit but now after seeing a couple of YouTube vids i'm starting to change my mind. To me the Artemis looks a bit smaller but i can't really tell, any suggestions?
Also as i said previously i'm getting rid of my EXEC, if anybody wants it here is the description:
6 month old XDA EXEC which is in great condition and has had a screen protector on it from day one. Also i'm throwing in my Bluetooth GPS box with it's wall charger and car charger. Also i have a in car holder for the EXEC as well. I'm also including a 2GB SD card with the phone!
Exec has TOMTOM installed on it as well as some games (virtual pool and monkey islands games etc). Also got a stylus with a pen in it!!!
The ROM is a bit on the old side so i can upgrade it before sending it out or leave it as is.
£300 Or nearest offer.
I accept PAYPAL and if u wanna check my ebay account it's called shun_di12 (100% positive and 100 feedback!!)

The P3300 and Orbit are the same size according to the official specs for both (H 108, W 58, D 16.8).
We had the Artemis, Orbit and MDA Compact-III together earlier today, they are all the same size, the different colour gives the illusion of differing size but they are the same.
The screen size is small (well compared to an Exec) - but you can carry the Artemis and MDA in the same shirt pocket and combined they weigh less than my Exec, the screen resolution and contrast on the HTC units is very good, although in the car you can get quite a mirror effect from it under certain lighting conditions, you can reduce this through the use of the screen protection film to some extent, very nice devices though.
Big plus point with the P3300 Artemis you get the pre-installed TomTom Navigator software (correct version for the device), a car decent car charger (although I would prefer the un-coiled style) and a good quality car holder/ mount that will tilt/ Swivel - Mike
Thanks for the replies guys. I went into the T-mobile and O2 stores today to have a proper look. I've decided to get the Artemis/P3300 version, quick question though is the only difference between the MDA compact III and P3300 the logo? On ebay.co.uk there aren't any HTC models at the moment, only T-mobile ones!
No the T-Mobile unit doesn't have WiFi on board and it isn't supplied with Pocket MSN, car charger, holder etc - if you don't need the WiFi then its a good bit of kit - Mike
Thanks for the heads up mike. I almost bought a compact iii recently. Having WiFi would be nice as i'm used to having it on my EXEC. I'm thinking about importing one from America as there seems to be loads of HTC ones over there. If I import one will it be alright to use over here (assuming it's unlocked) on the T-mobile UK network? And am i right in thinking i would have to buy an english AC adaptor?

safe2talk lead for orbit

Just replaced my XDA2i with an orbit and am trying to find a lead that will allow the orbit to work with the O2 speaker kit thingy. Looks like it's made by Ora / safe2talk and that they are standard things but you then buy an end cable to suit your phone. I have the Brodit mount, and the mic is wired behind the upholstery, so this seems the best solution, but if there is a better one I'd be grateful to know
Thanks
Mike

Audio/Video out Cable for XV600/Touch

Greetings All,
I have a friend who recently picked up an HTC Touch Pro. While sharing with me all the details and nuances of the phone he pointed out that there is an aftermarket cable that uses the mini USB out and converts to RCA jacks (right and left audio and yellow video). http://i.expansys.com/i/b/b170917.jpg
This cable is a home run and the details can be viewed in this YouTube video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WURkohx3ja4
Here is my query for you fans and gurus of the forum....
I have the HTC Touch... not the HTC Touch Pro. The cable mentioned above is not listed anywhere as working on my phone. It seems to me that with all the experts in this forum, someone can tell us why it would not work on basically the same phone and manufacturer (HTC) and model series (Touch) as well as the same port coming from the phone (min USB). I realize that it is a software driven feature when the cable is actually plugged in it pops up the screen looking for your decision for NTSC or PAL.
Can someone help me decipher how to get the video cable that is designed for the HTC Touch Pro to work on my good old fashion HTC Touch (which I happen to love) ????
In case anyone is curious why I am in the hunt for this so badly is so that I can play my Sling Player into my audio video inputs in my car (of course not while driving) stereo which has a sweet 7" screen in the dash. My sling player works flawlessly and it would be very very nice to be able to use this cable which is relatively inexpensive to do the trick.
Please Pm me with any thoughts....
the cable dont do anything really it just pass on the video out
that the special version of the extUSB connector in touchPro have
so far other htc devices extUSB do not have video out connectors in
their extUSB connector

I got Touch HD too and I bought the cabel AC T110 (it is for Touch Pro). I confirm that it does not work but I try to find the way out. I even started thinking about changing the device for Touch Pro2 but I like everything in HD exept the absence of TV output. The Pro2 is thicker, the screen is smaller, its camera has only 3,2 Mpixels. It's a pity that HD doesn't have AV out. If I find out anything I'll tell you
Mini usb - rca cable
