How to delete tomtom recent addresses - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

Hello, I would like to delete the list of recent addresses that i had gone to. Can someone please telll me how can I do so. I mean which file contains all those deletes, do i need to delete it or something...
cheers

U will lose all adresses when tou empty your SD card and install the map again. Unfortunately you will lose your settings too.

I use this:
http://www.teaser.fr/~vdisanzo/xania/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=358&Itemid=29
I have not found an English equivilent but if you use Google to translate the menu items it makes a really great TomTom app!
It will allow you to delete (or add) to the recent searchs, favs. without messing with your favs. You can even backup your favs. lists!!!
And no map re-installs! :>>
Hope this helps!

cheers mate, appreciate ur help

Contact List File

Hi
Does anybody know where the contact lists are kept? I want to be able to copy and store the contact list into my SD card, so whenever i want to do a hard reset i don't have to sync back to outlook and can instead just copy the list back into the phone.
Read something about PIM.VOL as one of the likely places but i can't find the file in Mun's Indigo Lite....
Same thing for 'tasks' as well.
Thanks
Its called PIM.VOL in the root directory, I use a program called PIMBackup it does the job for me.

Thanks taiseer,
Works like a charm... though haven't tried restoring the back-up file yet... but i'm sure it'll work.
Thanks again

Edit MyWords File

Hi everyone,
I want to clean up the MyWords Database, but after a lot of different attempts, I can't figure how to do that.
I just want to delete some words that WM6 has saved but that were misspelled, or that are no longer usefull.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Best Regards.
i have the same problem on mine with WM5, i've looked everywhere, and havent found anything! If someone could shed a light....
settings /input/ word completion /clear stored entries?
autocorrect
isn't it autocorrect.[LanguageID].txt you have to edit ?
Yes it is:
settings /input/ word completion /clear stored entries
But isn't it possible to delete just the words that I want to delete? Because your proposal just deletes everything that has been stored,...

Backing up the many small but annoying stuff

Gentlemen, (and ladies if any of you are hiding around here)
Whenever I flush my device I use PIM Backup and Sashimi to restore PIM data and install some of the apps I use. The thing I'm missing is a simple way to backup other device characteristics and features. These are many small things, like the order of the manila tabs, communication settings etc. They are all pretty simple to set manually, but since there are many of them it would be nice to find an automatic way to do them.
Below is a numbered list of things I would like to restore. If you have a good solution to anything on the list, please post it here. If you have other things you would like to backup, please add them as well.
1) Tab order in TF3D [hint]
2) List of apps included in the "Start" menu [solution - files]
3) List of cities in the weather tab [solution - Reg entry]
4) List of "Favorites" in the People tab [solution - file]
5) Browser Bookmarks [solution - files]
6) Internet Services Settings (e.g. The default access name is "uinternet" and I have to set it to "internet" manually) [possibe solution]
7) Default ring tones
8) Programs in the Program Launcher tab [solution - Reg entry]
9) Email accounts (PIM backup fails to set up my IMAP accounts. I'm not even sure it suppose to) [hint]
I'm aware of apps that can be used change many settings, like "Diamond Advanced Config", or the "Diamond TF3D Config". If possible don't just pint to apps that can do something manually, but suggest how to script a solution that can make the changes automatically.
For the purpose of this thread please assume that Sashimi is installed and can be used, but if the solution calls for a script or a registry entry change, please include or quote the file that can be used with Sashimi.
This is my first post in this tremendously helpful, active and important site, so I would also like to say thanks to all of the contributors, chefs, admins, moderators etc. who are supporting this site.

I'm sorry I can't give you working Mort scripts or .reg files etc. At least, not yet. But I'm searching for similar info and solutions, as I have the same need to automate installation after hard reset as much as I can. In general, for settings that are saved in the registry, you'll have to find out where the registry keys are saved, so you can export and import them using Sashimi.
1) I suggest asking sushilange, the creator of Diamond TF3D Config, or schaps, the creator of Advanced Config, how and where Manilla saves the TF3D tab order. If the registry is used, we can export the keys and import them using Sashimi. If the tabs are saved in one or more of the obscure Manilla files in \Windows, we can also save and restore them using Sashimi.
2) If I understand you correctly, just save and restore any shortcuts you like from \Windows\Start Menu with Sashimi.
3) You can try to add cities for your Manilla/ROM by setting up and running this application as part of your Sashimi setup. Or you can contact the creator, or the creator of the WeatherDatabaseEditor and find out which file(s) to backup and restore using Sashimi, after you're done editing your cities..
4) Don't know yet. Maybe sushilange, D-MAN666 or any of the other guys working on editing Manilla know how and where Manilla saves the TF3D contact favorites..
5) For Opera Mobile save and restore \Windows\Opera9\opera6.adr. For Pocket Internet Explorer save and restore \Windows\Favorites
6) Have a look at the provisioning functions in Makisu. I know the previous version of Makisu can setup e-mail accounts and maybe the new version can setup connections as well..
7) Don't know yet, probably somewhere in the registry
8) I suggest seacrhing or asking sushilange how and where Manilla saves the programs in the TF3D Programs tab. If the registry is used, we can export the keys and import them using Sashimi. If the tabs are saved in one or more of the obscure Manilla files in \Windows, we can also save and restore them using Sashimi.
9) Have a look at the provisioning functions in Makisu. You can't create your e-mail accounts with the backup applications I know..
favorite people seems to be in the pim.vol file. You can copy that file to internal storage and restore is using total commander.. or spb backup restores the favorite people as well
programs in manilla are listed in the registry under this key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila\ProgramLauncher]
cities found under weather are in the registry here:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila]
back it up and pop it in sashimi
good luck with the rest... its sad we have yet to see an all-in-one backup solution. Actually, i think it'd be great to see a manilla backup program developed for the issues you're raising.. tab order, people, programs, weather, etc
im eagerly awaiting this, ROM updates are so annoying when there's no simple backup solution
Please take a look before you post a thread in a certain section. This has nothing to do with ROM development...
Thanks for the hints, people. I'll start linking to them.
I'm still not sure how to contact the apps developers. If anyone can point them here that would be great.
mccune, I considered putting it elsewhere, but I think the issue of automating many small stuff like that is mostly common for people who flush ROMs. I believe that currently this thread is the one they read most often. If this thread will have some good solutions, or even better, lead to a development of a tool that can take care of all of this, I guess it could be placed anywhere and maybe the standard sticky tutorials would link to it.
If anyone has additional stuff he would like to restore – please post and I'll try to put it up in the list.
Mandragore & racerx_, thanks for the answers!
I have opened a thread here with all info to do automatic backup of all you have asked for, and more.

Help with Mortscript?!:confused:

Hi all, i hope someone can help me.
Everytime I soft-reset a annoying shortcut named "EasyMenu" comes back in my menu, even when I delete it.
So I made a script that will delete the shortcut.
That worked with:
Delete( "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\EasyMenu.lnk" )
Only when I place the script in the StartUp folder it wont work, I think because the script will run earlier than that the icon will be made.
So I was hoping that I can change the script so it will be executed after for example 30 seconds.
I hope someone can tell me how to do this, I tried some things in from the commands.txt but no luck, I am not verry good with programmer.
Thanks in advance!

sleep(5000) - this will sleep the script for 5 seconds (5000ms) (you can replace the number with the required delay). HOWEVER, this is overkill. You'd be better trying to figure what is creating the easymenu.lnk file in the first place.
Ok, so the EasyMenu.lnk is a little program from my provider, it gives me fast acces to my services and rintones, picutres, games and my chat and fun things for my sms/mms, pretty usless.
I searched my register for "Easy" and here are the results:
Reg1:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\STK]
"BackToSetupMenu"=dword:00000001
"Disable_IdleModeText"=dword:00000001
"Enable_IdleModeStatusIcon"=dword:00000000
"Link"="\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\EasyMenu.lnk"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\STK\SetupMenu]
Reg2:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start\EasyMenu.lnk]
"Group"=dword:00000000
"Rank"=dword:ffffff9b
I hope someone can tell me what to change to stop the making of the shortcut.
Thanks in Advance
OK, this is related to the SIM Toolkit (which is actually an app on your SIM card put there by your service provider/carrier/operator).
This is an unusual case of application icon, since it's not a normally installed app. Off the top of my head I don't know any perfect way to disable SIM Toolkit, but we may be able to delete the cause, or have it create the link elsewhere on your filesystem (so that it doesn't appear in your start menu).
I can't say for certain if this can easily be removed, but there's a couple of things we can try...
Try modifying the following entry in your Registry (just to prove this entry is creating the link), then reboot -
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\STK]
"Link"="\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\ThisIsATest.lnk"
IF we discover a new link in your start menu, then great.... we've found the cause (and the simple fix would be to either remove this reg entry, OR change the link to something like "\Temp\deleteme.tmp"
Let me know how you get on with that!
Hey TheBrilliantMistake
Sorry that didnt do the trick, its still there under the name EasyMenu.lnk
Only why is it bad to use the script?
What do you mean with overkill?

Well, it's not too bad to use the script, it's just that the ideal solution would be to stop the problem occurring in the first place...
Try the script for the moment and see how that works (might have to play around with the timing to make sure it deletes it every time)
Second try...
Try renaming the stk_service.dll file to oldstk_service.dll (you might need to use an advanced file manager like Resco File Explorer, or Total Commander to do this).
Then delete the easymenu.lnk and reboot.
OR
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\stk_service dll=stk_service.dll <---- make this key empty instead of pointing to STK Service dll.

Deleting from the Program list

I have used Settings>System>Remove Programs to remove a game but it did not totally remove everything and the program name still exists in the program list displayed in the Remove Programs app. Can I access the list and manually delete it?
Think you need to navigate to WINDOWS->START MENU->PROGRAMS there should be a bunch on .lnk files those lnk files drive the program list
nope, that doesn't do it
The .lnk files seem to be shortcuts to the main programs. The program I'm trying to delete from the Program list that appears in the Remove Programs app doesn't even have a shortcut there. Meaning that this Program list must be located somewhere else. Does anyone know where?
What happens when you try to uninstall it again?
I get a message that reads "...was not completely removed. Do you wish to remove it from the list of installed programs?" If I say "Yes", it still does not remove it.
you may want to give the program a try:
Tms Uninstaller: Will allow you to delete programs that don't show up in the normal remove programs. Direct download in link. (freeware) ~ Thanks Senax
I stumbled across that the other day while trolling for apps n tweaks...you can find the info and cab file here in the 1st post of " Software worth installing on the TP2 *Continuously Updated, links in thread* [Nov 25] " Thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550973
I havent used the program...i just remembered seeing it and thought mabe it could help ya...
Peace...
Thanks
Thanks. That program did it. Nice little app for removing programs. It said it had to delete something from the Registry. Maybe the Program list is there somehow??
No. It's back!
Spoke too soon. That app seemed to remove the program from the list but it's reappeared! Can anyone help?
lmao...that sucks...attempt to reinstall it then delete it...
You've got company
I too am dealing w/this issue. I've even resorted to deleting everything related in the registry to no avail! Now I cannot find the cab for DHR CommMgrPro. I was going to try to installing & uninstalling again. POOP!!
