I just downloaded SX56 WM03 ROM, now my main concern is on whether this upgrade ROM is suitable for O2 XDA users? I just don't want to take the risk on messing up my XDA, coz as we all know experimenting with ROM upgrades has taken a toll on many XDA users!
Please, I need an expert advice regarding this issue...
Yes it is suitable for O2, I have an 'O2' XDA and have it installed. But since the ATT ROM includes a radio update, you have to be very carefully to not to install the radio update and only the rom update.
It is not the ROM update which has taken toll, because you can recover from a ROM update failure very easilly. It is the radio update which can be very dangerously!
yes ... as long as you don't upgrade the radio stack
use SD method instead the exe file provided by the siemens web site
Thank you all so much for the help!!!
I'll do try it!!!
I'm running the latest Tmobile Radio Stack... on Tmobile WM2k3, if I update the ROM with the ATT ROM and my radio stack with the ATT radio stack, will my XDA1 still work? Thanks.
if you have a functioning RSU ... don't touch it!! ... extract the nbf file from ATT and use the SD card method
UNI_QTEK_WWE_13077_130176_10900_WWE_Ship.exe
And the bootloader does this exist here or shall i post it?
thanks but i saw it on the FTP and i m using this rom now. thanks anyway. have a nice day
I have the latest T-Mobile ROM but I would like to upgrade the OS to the latest Qtek version.
If I download this ROM and seperate the nbf files - Can I upgrade just the OS (ie not the Radio or Extended ROM) using my current boot loader (Version 1.01) without problems????
I get a device locked at bootup and then hard reset with this rom. Any way around it?
hello vorphax.
did you got this rom: UNI_QTEK_WWE_13077_130176_10900_WWE_Ship_GR1 or 2.
if you did using that rom i suggest you download another rom without the the GR1 or 2. like this one UNI_QTEK_13077_176_10900_WWE_Ship. and do the upgrade it will be fine. Have fun upgrading.
Yes i had the GR one. Thanks bradan.
hello,
i have a T-Mobile MDA Vario from germany and now i found this nice page and i also want to test something.
So my question is, what happens if i will flash the wrong rom or else ? in every document is written that the phone is destroyed. Is tht really true or can i flash an original rom back and then everything is ok ?
thanks for help.
an other question:
i updated the rom to the aku 3 from t-mobile. how can i flash it back to the old ? the original t-mobile software says the file is not the right i should use a newer. but i want the old rom.
bye
virtualia
how to manage the official ROM (galaxy.cap) to .nb0 ROM?
i have p525 original rom in english v.3.43 and i downgraded the radio virsion to v.6.
i want to install the original rom in Hebrew but i get this error message "Extended ROM update cannot be applied to this region's virsion!"
i understood that i need to manage the official ROM to .nb0 ROM,
i did it and installed the ROM but it didnt ask me about installing hebrew support as it asked in the past when i updated the rom virsion.
can any1 help me?
thank you very much!
in the REGIONAL SETTING i didnt see ISRAEL so i installed the VIVI's cab and now i have it and its on ISRAEL but again when i want to install the original rom from asus (v3.43 in HEBREW) i get again this error message:
"Extended ROM update cannot be applied to this region's virsion!"
Do you get this error message after you flashed (3.43) successfully and restarted? Or is that the message the bootloader spills out?
Before you downgraded to 3.43 again, did you run the ASUS.UnlockLangId.exe? If you didn't do that you may still have the wrong language ID set.
To convert the cap-file to nb0, run P525RomTool -d Galaxy.cap. But I guess you've already done that.
Itay , run this before flashing your selfmade nb0 .

good luck .
thanks man!
the problem has been solved
I would like to install the new Feb 09 ROM from HTC. My Compact IV is from last August and Im just so fed up with the slowness and reception... but I dont want to brick it as I still have a year contract left (thats why never cooked anything) however I feel I could trust the ROM straight from HTC(?) This also seems to pretty straight forward to do.
...but Please let me know
- Is the installer 'PDA Phone ROM Update Utility 3.27.4.3' that comes with it safe to use?
- No need to hardSPL etc.. stuff?
- Will there be any issue as Compact IV is locked to T-Mobile?
Appreciate help... love my compact IV!!
Just to add to my post
I used the S/N in the other thread: ht824gn13492 to download the ROM from HTC. HTC didnt allow to do it with Compact IV's S/N. I hope thats ok... Think the ROM version downloaded is 2.03.405.3.
Thanks
...
I have compact IV too and I am using 2.03 roms (htc and cooked) without problems. You need hardspl to flash these roms (i have olinex 1.93). And I recomend you to flash rom by internal method. Good luck
What do you mean with 'internal method'?
And even if install straight from HTC, still need hardSPL?
Thanks!

Read this about flashing from internal storage.Mainly the second paragraph. And I thing that you need hardspl for any other rom except tmobile stock one.
I hope that will help you
hardspl
Thanks for your help. Just one more question: does your last comment mean T-mobile original ROM doesnt require hardSLP. Or better I install it anyway?
Thanks!!
Yes.Only (Tmobile CZ in my case)stock rom from your mobile operator
copilot
I think I will try install straight the official HTC ROM. I read somewhere else thread if updating official ROm you shouldnt use any HardSPL(?) Im not exp with this, and dont want to risk my phone...
I wonder will this affect the Copilot 7 installed by T-Mobile? i know its on the interanl memory (4GB) but were some parts in the phones memory that will be wiped away? dont want to loose it!!!
you cannot install the Official HTC ROM without HardSPL is what gajdik means.
Because your phone is T-Mobile branded (like mine) you can ONLY install T-Mobile ROMS, all others will fail (even official htc roms), to bypass this you must hardspl
Thanks... understand now.
What about Copilot, will I loose it? (does it have something in registry etc that will disable it, as the ROM is not from T-mobile?)
thanks

Yes this is what i mean
I have preinstaled tomtom 7 by tmobile and it works after rom update. But I am not sure about copilot...
Hi all,
I'm new to all this. I've got hold of the new HTC Rom that I want to put on my Compact IV, but can anyone give me a version of Hard SPL to use?
I can't seem to get any of the versions i've found so far to work!
Thanks in advance!
What version of stock rom do you have? And what versions of hardspl you tried?
I've got 1.37.110.3 WWE (the standard one that came from T-Mobile) and i'm trying to flash 2.03.405.3 (the feb 09 update from the HTC website)
I think i've managed to get the Olinex Hard SPL 1.30 onto the phone, but can't seem to make any progress.
Try upgrade to tmobile stock 1.93 rom and then try 1.93OliNex_HSPL_Unsigned from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2312363&postcount=2
This works for me
