Which ROM on my Asus P535 ???

Hi!
Some days ago I have bought an Asus P535.
The S.O.'s language is ITALIAN....well, I have understand how change it to WWE....however, I don't understand Which ROM I can use !
On the Asus's site, there are the only (newest) firmware that I have found:
V4.3.25 (ONLY for Hong Kong user) - 47mb
V4.3.25 (ONLY for Taiwan user) - 47mb
...where is an WWE rom ???
P.s.
I have also found a "P535 Phone Module Firmware V4.5.0 - 1mb"
...is for ALL LANGUAGE ???

I haven't upgraded the rom myself, but I have installed that phone firmware upgrade on an australian rom.
And no, I don't know where to get the australian rom - the shop installed it for me and refused to give me a copy.

I found:
P535_V4315_WWE_TH00.rar
and
V4315_WWE_MS00.rar
which one is the newest??

try using an ftp client.

That would be 4.3.15 for the wwe version.
There's a couple of roms with 4.3.35 version but those are for taiwan and hongkong.
I've seen someone mention that the russian (RU) version has some russian rubbish that you do not want/need, so I suggest you go for the thailand (TH) or malaysia (MS) version.
I have never tried to change rom myself, so I am afraid I am unable to help you if you run into trouble. But please post your results, I want to try it at some point.

But as I understand it, both of these are WWE yes.

So far in this forum the ROM upgrade was academic.
Here is reality
My P535 is bricked!!
During Rom Update (following all the rules as posted) The process stopped.
It gets stuck on the start menu (Asus Screen).
The Hard reset does not work. ( Reset + Power button).
I can get to the bootloader screen (Power button + right mike(?) button+Reset)
and it just shows a screen with the waiting on.
Anyboby , can you help. Can I do hard reset another way?
It seems that ASUS offers the Rom Update if your ASUS P 535 is running and from the Mini sd card.
All the other Phone PDAs I had before (Qtek 100,s200, O2 atom, HP rw 6828. HTC (Dopod m700) P3300, HTC (Dopod D810) P3600 the bootloader did get the ROM Update file from the PC while in Activ Sync with the USB port. The bootloader in the ASUS products works differently.It does look for the usb connection but the ROM is in the miniSD. Am I doing something wrong?
Can someone point out the error of my ways?

I'm sorry to hear that. Very sorry.
I don't know if you did anything wrong. I also have an I-mate K-Jam (HTC Wizard) and it seems easy to recover from a failed upgrade on the wizard.
I haven't seen similar stories about the P535, so don't (yet) know a way to recover from a failed upgrade on the P535. But I will let you know if I find/read about a way to do it.
Maybe you could try contacting the author of the only "homebrew" ROM I know about - his webpage is here: http://norad.shacknet.nu/lifeforce/ and he has a feedback-form for bug reports. He is probably much more experienced with rom updates than I am, so it's worth a try.

I thought the hard reset combo was up+reset...
Maybe it only works if the OS is running - I don't know.
I had an idea:
I tried using the p525 rom tools (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=284379) to extract "RomGalaxy.NB0" from GalaxyII.cap, and I managed to extract it:
C:\P525RomTool11>P525RomTool.exe -d GalaxyII.cap
ASUS P525 ROM Tool 1.1
Converting ... DONE, to ROMGalaxy.NB0

But - I have read that the p525 rom tools don't work on p535 roms (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=284379&page=7) - so I don't know if this NB0 file is useless/has the wrong checksum or whatever...
If you want you can try the rest of the procedure (I don't dare trying on my own phone):
- flash this NB0 file via the bootloader as it's described (in step 6) in the p525 thread I mentioned above:
Flash ROMGalaxy.NB0 via bootloader (copy it to SD card root, press "camera" fully, press reset).

Maybe there's another button combo you have to press on the P535 - Maybe the one you use on your P535 to get into the bootloader - I don't know, I'm just guessing.
Maybe the NB0 file needs to have another name - ROMGalaxyII.NB0? I don't know this either.
I guess this wasn't much help... Let's hope someone more experienced than me can come up with something better...

I downloaded that homebrew rom I mentioned: http://norad.shacknet.nu/lifeforce/ today.
It comes with the following install procedure:
Flashing:
1. Disable USB ActiveSync.
2. Push Off button + rec. button + nav. up + reset 5sec.
3. connect the PDA to PC
4. Start AsusUpdateROM.cmd

Which means it does not install from an SD card.
Try that one, see if it works.

I upgrade to my ASUS P535 to V4.3.6 WWEL_RU but... i not have all russich menu. I need all meniu in kirilica see :-(

I don't know if the russian rom has russian menu.
I've seen someone mention that it is mostly english with a few russian add-ons.
But I'm not sure - maybe asus russian website (if it exists) can tell you if the russian p535 has russian or english menus?

It is WWE with some russian add-on, but 99% of the ROM is in english. On the other hand, the device's extrom contains a language extender (in my case this is Hungarian), and it installs during the first booting process along with some network settings. I believe that the russian P535's has the same LENg (of course with russian language).

How to downgrade wm6 to wm5 (P525)

I installed wm6 to my p525 and now I have to downgrade it to wm5. But i can't install wm5 rom to it. How can I do this? Please help me

do you speak french because i can help you but i'm french so it's most easy for me to explain in french!

you can directly use .nb0 rom .it can let you go back to wm5.dont use .cap its dangerous and cant work.but you boot will keep 07.....

have sucessfully flashed to various WM6 Mobiz roms, v10, 18, 19 etc
now want to revert back to WM5, as PIM does not transfer, etc and many other programs (from WM5 ) do not work in WM6 environement.
Baut cannot revert back to WM5.
- downloaded various ASUS WM5 ROM, WWE, WWE ARA all versions 3.43 etc
- have tried using both bootloaders 06xxxxx and 07xxxxx
- with any official ASUS ROM, always get the following error
ROM image found :\MiniSD Card \Galaxy.cap
Language(English), is compatable with the device language(Unassigned).
then click System- Rom update , and imiditaely get the error:
ROM update cannot be applied to this regions version!
- i have also tried the ASUS.UnlockLangID ( runing this before attempting above update), but no difference, same error.
- i have also tried changing the local in system properties, to English, Arabic, Thai and reatempt falshing with ASUS WM5 roms but always get same error message as above.
PLEASE HELP
were can get .nb0 WM5 ROMs please?

Asus P525 Expert, Please Help!!

Hi, I had try to update the new Extended ROM Version V1.8.3 in Traditional Chinese for my Asus P525 (Traditional Chinese vision), but the firmware does not execute automatically, even though I try execute the Autorum.ext under the folder, it still won't execute. I had been successful upgade to WM6 before, everything works fine. But now, I can't update, Please kindly help me with this issue. Thank you in advance.

Where did you get it?
Official ROMs does not have such thing as "Extension ROM update". Extension ROM gets updated with main ROM update.
p.s. I realize that you may be trying to upgrade the Extension ROM of P525 using a HTC Extension ROM, it is not possible!

Hi, I am sorry for the mistype of rom. I had download the newest vision from TW/ASUS that they release on 12/31/2007, however, I just can't get the Autorum.ext auto start, Please kindly help.
p.s. I had follow the steps on Asus website and all of the update so far at my P525 are from the Asus website as well. But once I click the Autorum.ext, it only shows 自動更新程式 on the top, then nothing happen. I don't see the question 要更新裝置韌體嗎? as they explain on their website.

back to Wm5 from Wm6 Asus P525

hey, i upgraded my Asus P525 to "Latest WM 6.1 version:
by
Alex[DFR] or sp3dev"
and it works great for me.
now i want to remove it from wm6 to wm5 again and i have the Orginal Rom for Asus P525 (V.3.42 Hebrew), i just need to install the Rom and it will back angain to Wm5? (Its Because i still have guaranty and it demands the manufacturer orginal Rom).

There's no problem. The only thing - you would possibly run ASUS.UnlockLangID.exe on your device before you start to flash it - otherwise you may get Wrong Language message.

Download, extract, copy to your device (MiniSD), run....
For the future come to http://asusmobile.net/board/index.php if interested... It was just opened...

You may need to flash the same ROM 2 times to get the extension ROM and partition configuration back.
And...if you used the official WM6 ROM, the bootloader does not accept WM5 cap files, you need to decode the nb0 file and use that instead.

İtalian TİM Asus P320 to English

Hi All
i am very new in this handheld business and before i go ahead and crash the device i thought i could get some assistance , i already read some of the threads regarding from french to english and chinese to english.My thing is i just bought this yesterday in italy and once i get started with it . reallized that the whole thing is ,in italian its from a cell provider called TİM in italy.So can anyone guide my step by step what to do in order to make this device all english

You must download from ASUS 2 firmwares, ENG and CHN.
Extract in your SD the folder 2577 from ENG version
Overwrite autorun.exe in SD\2577 with the one in CHN version.
Put your SD in your p320 and play!!!
The difference is in autorun.exe, chinese version doesn't check language, so you can flash what you want!!!

Thanks i will try it as soon as possible , since i work on a cruiseship , the internet connection is very bad , so first i have to get the chinese firmware since i have the the ENG version , from the CHN version i just need the autorun.exe nothing else right and delete the autorun from the ENG version.

ASUS TIM Italina to English language

i tried to flash the english.bin using the chinese autorun.exe but it still doesn't work , i even tried to flash the whole chinese 2577 file first to see , if that would make a difference , in the end it still gives failed message (during soft reset) or it tells me to ensure its the same language .
So i am looking for other ways.
Please anymore assistance is needed

no more help i guess from members of this site , very disappointed , i have spoken finally with Asus here and the advised me to sent the device in they will be loading the mobile 6.1 professional english version for $ 30.
