How to install a new font extension .ar in netfront v3.3 - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

I need to install a smaller font in netfront because the default courier new is too wide. I wanted to go with ariel narrow. I tried copying the ttf off of my windows machine into the netfront font folder to no avail.
The file extension for the netfront font is .ar Does anyone know how to add another font into this?
a quick side note about netfront:
I have tried many of the browsers including opera and decided to go with netfront v3.3 mainly because it doesn't require any modification to import the ie browsers. I use firefox on my home computer but i like to activesync my pda's bookmarks / favorites which i can't do in opera.

:bump: anyone use netfront?
anyone know about the ar extension?
I tried googleing it to no avail. i was a little tired in the am, so i'll try again today.

cab for Opera 9.5?

Does anybody have a cab file of Opera 9.5 for WM6.1? The one extracted from Touch Diamond might not work on Trinity because Touch Diamond got a VGA screen? Thanks.
hi,
they are two cabs vga and qvga, I recommend you to modify the formulation of visualization in Adaptive Zoom digitando in the bar of the links "about:config" with those of default on the trinity has not been well,
B B W =800
M Z =100
M O Z =30
M Z =70
V S W =800
test and make me know hi
Opera9_405VGA_qVGA.zip
Hi, Antonio,
Thanks for the cab, but I'm not sure what do you mean about the modification to the formulation of visualization. You are correct, the display is a bit off and need some adjustment but I don't know how.
Another thing is, a lot of configurable settings are not there any more, for example, not to set Opera as default browser. I have applications rely on IE as the backend for information retrieval from internet and display them. Opera kind of breaks the normal display of these applications. I need a way to set IE as the default browser.
BTW, does the trick to put Opera 8 cache on Storage Card work for Opera 9 too? Thanks.
Regards,
hi,
I try to be an a little clearer and excuse me for the translation if it is not exact. I wanted to say that of default Opera it is not visualized well, at least on our trinity, therefore I have found some formulation enough good, you owe alone digitare in the bar of you address him "about:config" and then you go on Adaptive Zoom and imposes only you the visualization as I have told you before, to have IE of default must use an any tools and you modify the register
ciao
Thanks, Antonio,
But I think it's too much hassle to get the display straight. I uninstalled Opera 9 for now. And yes, I had to go through all those registry settings to get it back to make pie the default browser after uninstall. What a pain...
Anyway, thank you for providing the cab.

Esmertec/RickyWyatt font/number key issues

T-Mobile Dash with RickyWyatt WM6.1, Esmertec Jbed (latest)
In applications like MIDPSSH (v1.7.3), the keys WERSDFXCV are all mapped to numbers. I've encountered this in a few other MIDP applications. Is there a fix for this? This doesn't occur in full-screen text-entry fields - only when in the active application.
In applications like Gmail and Opera Mini, the fonts are "ugly" -- not anti-aliased. Is there a way to correct this? (In Gmail, there's a preference for large fonts, but it doesn't appear to have any effect.)
I've tried searching in the custom search, but haven't been able to find solutions for either of the above.
Thanks for your help.
Your font issue can be sorted by placing the font attached into the Windows Directory and rebooting phone.
Worked like a charm. Thanks so much.
It looks like there's another font in the Gmail app that's being called, but isn't present (in the message subjects) -- any idea what font that is?
In any case, thanks again.

Dude... what can i say... It´s perfect! You guys from this forum rocks!!! Thanks a lot.
I found this..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2971979
The following registry settings control the font sizes for apps running in JBed.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Apps\Esmertec Java\Device Info\Java Font]
"Size Large"="26"
"Size Medium"="20"
"Size Small"="16"
You may need to create the Device Info & Java Font keys since they are not created by default. I know they change the font with JBed 20080912_5_1, not sure about older versions.

It appears to work with the latest Esmertec Jbed.
I had some issues with the Menu button fonts looking a little weird.. but I got it worked out. It turns out another font was missing.
It's one of the following:
#tahoma.ttf
#tahomabd.ttf
Arial.ttf
tahoma.ttf
tahomabd.ttf
arialbd.ttf
arialbi.ttf
ariali.ttf
Andale.ttf
CORBEL.TTF
CORBELB.TTF
CORBELI.TTF
CORBELZ.TTF
lsans.ttf
lsansd.ttf
lsansdi.ttf
lsansi.ttf
micross.ttf
lucon.ttf
I had to use the attached gmail.jad -- the original jad caused the gmail app to reverse the menu buttons.
Upgraded to "VGA Esmertec Jbed 20080912.5.1.cab" and the fonts look great.

[QUESTION] Removing IE

Anyone know how to remove Internet Explorer in the kitchen? WM6.5 21820. Of course I don't want to remove the engine but just the browser. And secondly where in the registry should I search for the entry responsible for showing IE in Titanium Panel? I want to change it into Opera...
I don't know how to remove the browser but... don't remove it: it is an essential part of Windows/Mobile environment.. and removing IE will result in a very little gain of memory in ROM...
However, you can remove the IE favorites in Titanium with CHome Editor, deselecting the favorites tab... for changing in Opera, you have to download the Opera favorites plugin for Titanium and select it in CHome
I hope this will be helpful
ok, thanks

Depends what ROM? If using 6.1 can just place font file attached in Windows Directory and restart, later builds of Java it's not so simple and infact never got it to work which is why even in RoseROM Remade Ricky & I chose to use an older jbed.

Thank stylez for replying so soon. I am currently running 3VO ROM by Ookba. I want to edit the homescreen with different font. Mini Opera font also changes as I change the font for the homescreen. Is there any way to prevent this?

AT&T Tilt2 - Make IE default browser?

Does anyone know how to set IE as the default browser? I have the AT&T Tilt 2, WM6.5 factory ROM. I have a program that is not compatible w/ the Opera browser, and I think I like the ability to switch between the 2 variants (modes) (desktop & mobile) of the IE browser.
Thanks,
Dave
tilt 2 default browser
It seems like this should be possible from the registry somewhere. But not everyone want so mess with the registry, or they don't have time to mess with other apps. The 'easiest' way I've found to do it is to launch IE, go to the options menu and tell it to ask if it's the default browser upon launch. Close IE, re-launch and make it the default browser. I had the same problem with an app working waaaay better with IE over Opera.
Search xda for a cab called FIXIE.cab. It will make your pocket IE the default browser.
