Not Funny FTP Site has been trashed

The FTP SIte has been trashed.
Both Kitchens are gone
The Extended rom folders is gone
And a load of other folders to.
Well that was 2 months of hard work up the swany

Who would do something like that...this is rediculous...!
I think it is time the ftp gets locked....but then again, I am not in charge.
Another idea I had was to CHMOD directories...posted that in another post. Best way really is to not allow anyone access to ftp, and post the links to the files in a thead here on the forum.
I am really disappointed...I do have several ROMs downloaded, so let me know if I can help ya, MDAIIIuser.

Well I have pm peter in the hope that there is a backup.
Well that is what I did, posted every file in wiki, applicatins, ext roms, kitchen files, the lot, All gone.

Surely it is backed up and just needs restoring. Some may be missing but most would be there

This is not normal...crap...I just had a look, and indeed...a ****load of stuff is gone.
Have Peter check the FTP logs...we might be able to trace this back by IP to the guilty party.

I am uploading what i can into a folder. it will need sorting out not a huge amount of stuff but all i can help with. I think somebody did a move rather than a copy in windows. can it not be set to read and write only and not change

I have downloaded the ext. Roms of all german Providers. If theres no backup, tell me, and I will upload them.

I have sent out to PM to the admins, lets wait untill we get somefeed back before we start uploding to much.
Somebody will have to create the Dirs so that the wiki links work again and I am realy not up to it any more, its been to much work that I have just seen go down the tube, to much work that I have done alone.
I leave this up to the admins and the GREAT HELPFUL XDA-Forum users.

I have put as much to the site as I have......reckon it maybe safer to make read only and have a moderator(s) who can upload????

I had some ROM can be unload let me know which good time to do

Can we set up some of system which file allow new user to download and some of file allow more poster to download file,I saw some of web site in Taiwan or China had this kinds system,if post one get one piont ,upload get 5 piont or 10 piont , set up some of file only allow some piont can be download that maybe will take care this problem or just use PM to ask to link download.

i hate that system and think its not suitable for this great sites users..
what we all can be is a bit more responsible as far as the ftp is concerned..with making the files read only so that no one but moderators can change the file structure.. or something.. maybe a moderated seperate upload download areas can help further

I totally agree with zohaer21 about the files.They should be a read only type of file. I hate to see these kind of things happen, but there are just some people who get off on screwing things up.

Sorry to hear about the FTP site. I use mirrordir on my sites to push changes to a closed FTP box daily in the small hours off a cron job. Its pretty configurable and only sends changed files etc. I do it to avoid saturating my ADSL link - upload jpgs into ISP webspace daily, and have site link to them instead of local copies.
For backup/anti-tosser purposes, you prob dont need this - why dont you just write a simple script to copy the ftp site outside the ftp/http root once a day? Least then you can just copy it back in afterwards. All depends on available space, I know.

Writing a new script for this is not needed. There are tons of scripts/proggies out there that can do this, no reinventing the wheel...
But I think the idea is excellent...keep originals on ftp, and update whenever needed to http location/folders.

So, We mirror this site to one of our own privat sites?
Sure it works but we all move on, get new toys and show no intrest. Who is going to do the admin on that.
Well my status is that I have two PM to two Admins that reamin in my outbox.
I am posting to a forum that is moderated but no admin has seen this thread.

Sure we need a few of the others but those were linked in wiki.
The problem is that if we reupload all this stuff who is going to clean it up?
The wiki team has been writing in wiki for over 2 months and I (MDAIIUser) have only ever seen 2 other contributions by none team members to that site in all that time. (bar the correcection of my bad spelling which still can be seen all over the place).
Ever wondered why we have so many threads on BT, and no links in wiki for that?
Sure this is a great site if you are looking for something but it is only as good as the amount of work that goes into it by us all. The tools are there, the info is also in the forum, but it cant be upto a team of 3 to post all of it, clean up the ftp site and act as admins with NO rights to insure that the work that has been done does not get trashed by some %&/ (*hdbueller* Great comment, got your device to work again?).

help! can't download by link

After fiddling around with some .xml files (for rltoday) and opening them with wordpad on my prophet, i have discovered that when i try to download .cabs etc pocket explorer opens them as text, though i don't know if the two things are connected (its all i can think of).... i realise that this is probably a stupid error on my part but can any body help..... thanks in advance...

Good evening all of yours!
After many read threads, i make up my mind and start this new one cos i don t find find any good solution...
Is it possible via registry or an applicationto specify in the HTC launcher a particular folder for images and videos? I would like to open all the images and videos i record on storage card.
Then i found already things about the problem but no solutions really about the way to configure streaming media to open onlines videos like youtube and so on...
I had this configuration once after flashing rom and then i flashed again and i don t have it anymore!!
Thks for any answer!!!

Firstly the second post from you is not a way to get attention, this is a forum and expecting an instant response is extremely arrogant.. please let people have a chance to see what your request is before coming back and wasting spacing on questioning why you were not answered. secondly i would hope that with your arrogance may come the miniscule amount of intelligence it takes to do a search.
So for the first part of your question

"FileSyncPath"="\\Storage Card\\My Documents"
now all your images and videos will save to the storage card and will by default open from there. From here you should be able to figure out where you need to go in registry to tweak the default file locations.
AS for streaming I have no idea but I am sure that the internet connection you obviously have will yield a result thru some search engine...just like the 30 seconds I took out of my life to get the above result which you should have been doing yourself.

I replied to my own post about 5 hours after because i m looking for a solution to this little problem since a while, and yes, was impatient to have a solution!
Thank you for your answer to my first question but you see, my post is not so useless as you are not even able to find a solution to the second one!!!!
And what do you reply to the new ones who keeps asking about the stuck with the bootloader after 1% doawnloaded??? do you shoot them up like you did to me??!!!!

How to get these.....

Alright I have loaded ROM's onto my phone but I am still pretty new to this, I am wondering if anyone can take the time to walk me through of how to get Home Screen's like these (the first one and the red one on PG1)

The big clock is called HTC Home and that's fairly easy to find, just make a simple search for it. The tray on the bottom looks like PHM Trays which you can get from PHM Tools.

Did you bother reading the thread or are you the type to look at pics and ask for help, right off the bat?

Actually I did take the time to read a lot of the post's but as I said in my first post I am pretty new to this stuff and a lot of the talk was quite confusing to me because of the short form's and such so program's and stuff like that.
Like I said before, I am just looking to see if some one has the time to help me, not looking for people to chirp about how new I am and such. Thank you.

Alright so I have read the first like 11 pages and no where in there have I found how to get those 2 Home Screen's running on my Dash?
Please help

As for the Red Carousel theme....go here.
Download the needed cabs in the bottom of his first post and read his install instructions.
As for the HTC home, if you READ where to get it from its in his first thread also...

Download that cab.
Once you've downloaded the cabs...you transfer them to your phone using Active sync. Place them in your documents folder. Using your phone Resco Explorer program direct yourself to the My Documents folder and click on the cabs to install them.
If asked where to install them, pick Main memory (phone itself) not the memory card.
DO NOT UNZIP or UNRAR the CAB files.
After the cabs are installed. REBOOT.
Once rebooted, Click on start->settings->Home Screen->Home screen layout
Once there, choose which home screen...you'd like to have.
Done

Thank you for the help, I have one question though, I downloaded the courosel theme and unzipped it to a folder and then I copied to my from through My Computer (I'm not sure if that matter's?) but when I selected the Courosel theme in Home Screen, the text messages and voicemail stuff look's all messed up? Is that because I unzipped the file?
Another question came up....
I dled the LCD clock and unzipped it, copied the folder to my phone and then went to Resco Explorer and clicked the Setup.xml and it did a bunch of stuff, I thought it installed but then when I rebooted my phone nothing happened?

Alright thank you very much, I didn't realize that that was a cab file since I have never worked with a cab before.
I installed the cab. and got a message saying that I may need an older version of WM?
I then rebooted and the LCD clock was not there?

I couldnt edit again so I has to do another post, the problem I was having was just that I didn't go to the background image and change it to courosol.

alright I have one more question and I thought I would post it here instead of opening another thread. When I am using txt messaging and I sent a txt (I will use this as an example) at 8:01 PM and some one sends me a txt back in the same minute it will say that they replyed at 7:01 PM. It always says one hour earlier for replys? I have searched through options but I cannot seem to find where to change it?

Are you sure your time is right? Go to settings --clock & alarm-- and scroll to where on earth you are. Do a reset try that.

I checked the times man and NOTHING! this is kind of brutal, it's not like it's a huge problem but it's just ******* frustrating, any ideas guys?

New to Windows Phone

Hi all, as the title states, I'm new to the windows phone fam. I just found this place and it seems to be an awesome source for all kinds of things. I'm just a little overwhelmed with all the different things available. I want to do a few things with my phone (like different themes and apps) but have no idea how to even go about installing them on the phone. I tried to find somewhere that said how to add them but no luck. Is there a previous thread here that shows how to go about adding apps from this website onto the phone?
Also, I know that the tilt 2 comes with a built-in youtube viewer but I can't find it for the life of me. Does anyone know if ATT took it off the phone or am I just not looking in the right spots?

The best starting place is the 'read first' thread. It'll point you to the search feature (works very well) and the Wiki, where useful info a plenty can be found.
The link for youtube viewer is in the \Windows folder, just copy the link (it's a .lnk file) from there to somewhere in your \Windows\StartMenu\Programs folder.
