maybe the microfon??
Could be used for headphones
Its for attaching a lanyard. If you open the battery cover you can see the "loop".
For allowing the phone to breath properly...
It's what Mikey said. It's for a special set of headphones. I think it's for a headset with Microphone.

I have a lanyard attached to mine, the problem is that the phone is too large and heavy for a neck lanyard for any decent amount of time.

I like to poke holes.
the square hole is nothing. i looked at it.
Holly crap! I´ve been trying 6 months to attach a parabolic antenna to that hole... LOL!
I agree that the phone is pretty heavy for a lanyard, I used one once and the result was a hurting neck.

I have a retractable belt lanyard that works well. But you need cargo pants for something like the dash to fit in without getting squeezed.
these are pretty cool and 3m double sided tape works great to fix the issue of adhesion
Cool review man. You did a really good job explaining everything and covering the details! Thanks for using a tripod !
Great review! I was looking at these but no one had shown the results of the wide angle lens. Thank you soooo much!

no problem guys and glad that you enjoyed: )
I purchased the Macro lens and it works excellent. Kinda gives the 8mp camera some much deserved respect.
Where can one buy these? Put up some links (preferably with affiliate tags in them )

I am working as project manager for a company right now but I am under NDA so I cannot discuss it.
But once launched and the NDA is no longer in effect I may be able to bring something back to the XDA family and those who have worked so hard on these things.
sweet! keep me in mind brudda!
You forgot one of the major parts of the wideangle/macro lens.
On the first lens you reviewed, it actually unscrews and separates into two different peices. The smaller peice itself is actually the advertised macro lens, and you can greatly magnify your camera's views.

here you can have a look at the upcoming official htc one x accessories. thought it was a good idea to put them in a seperate thread
http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/uk/p_htc_phone.aspx?i=229814
heres some detailed info on some of the neat things http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/blog/2012/02/htc-one-x-accessories-available-first-from-mobile-fun/ but the one that catches my eye is the HTC One X Speaker Dock CR S650 can just keep my fingers crossed that someone releases a case which extends the pogo pins.
strange is that when i search for more images info etc on the s650 i get this dock http://www.parrotshopping.com/us/p_htc_item.aspx?i=229884 its the same on this this page http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/uk/p_htc_item.aspx?i=229884&phone=229814 and on alot of pages so i guess they got the images mixed up..
.

Anyone interested in the official htc case with a polycarbonate back and a white front cover that acts as a stand?

ohh that one..
was wondering why is it call a hard shell when there is a flip there...
no way am i getting a casing with a flip cover on it.. hate those designs..
I ordered this case and it came this morning: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rubberised-...MCYA/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1331982985&sr=8-7
First impressions- I don't like the way it's not going to completely cover the top or bottom of the phone, it also seems like the kind of case that clips on - not a big fan - (I'll see how it fits when I get the device) - material seems good though (hard plastic).
May be a good stop gap until casemate get their tough cases out (loath to pay 30 quid though, but always found them to offer A+ protection)
@jermx i think this is a stand becouse this case is transparent

i saw this:
http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/uk/p_htc_item.aspx?i=229884&phone=229814
but noticed something, and maybe its just me having a complete lack of sleep (long story), but it seems the dock uses micro usb port of the phone, but if you think about which way you dock the phone, wouldnt that be the wrong side of the phone?
can someone confirm, or am i going crazy?

I thought the exact same thing earlier. The location of the micro usb plug on there would mean that the micro usb port on the phone would have to be on the right hand side, but in all pictures it's been on the left hand side.
Perhaps it's a mirror image, for some reason?
the phone has 5 metal dots on the back. these are the dock connection. not the micro-usb port.
I have extra space under my stereo that I would like to somehow use for a phone mount. Any ideas?

This is exactly what I'm looking for. Does he have any kind of instructions to do it?
Wow, that is ghetto. Mold it in with some duramix, flexible filler, and some paint. It's a little more work but it won't look like a Jerry rigged monstrosity.
I'm not sure exactly what parts he used, but the rods are theaded into the rings clamped into the center bracket. The threading makes it spread adjust to fit into the dash cubby.
Blown89, stick around here and you'll find the aftermarket hasn't been kind to us, so in the first 7 months A.G. (After Gnex), we had to Jerry rig things. For some applications its still the only way. While a precision molded, flush inset, pogo charging, quick release dash mound would obviously be better, we don't stifle creativity here.
If you are concerned about appearances, you could orient the spreaders vertically, which would then be hidden by the phone when mounted.

The only difference between that mount and one that looks factory is a little more time, effort, and knowledge. I understand that many people use wood and hardware store odds and ends because they don't know any better. Car audio sites have great information on how to integrate things like that into dash pieces should anyone want to tackle such a project.
Does anyone know where I can find a small thin button magnet that I can insert into the lining of an existing case that will activate the Nexus 7 sleep/wake?
Does anyone know the exact position on the Nexus 7 where the magnet needs to be located to trigger the function?
This is the case that I got from Office Max using that 20% off coupon.
Solo Urban Universal Fit Table Booklet
On Solo (dot) Net website search for UBN220
Craft stores will have the magnet.
Once you have the magnet, you'll know exactly where you need to place it...

Confirmed that a vinyl refrigerator-style magnet is not sufficient to trigger the function, but a hunk of neodymium is. Will look for something like a 1/2" x 1/16" disc that I saw on Amazon at the hobby store after work.
