Voice command to play music through TCPMP instead of WMPlaye - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Just wondering if you can make voice command use TCPMP instead of Windows Media Player when you say "play music"

Works fine on mine - go into TCPMP settings, and set the file associations correctly so all your music files start in TCPMP, not WMplayer.

PIE option for best media player

is thier or can some one make a simple app that lets PIE choose best media player.
i did the registry hack for default player and i choose the tcpmp as default but it doesn't work for all the sites.
it would be nice if i could put a little app in the registry the will launch an option that lets me choose which player to play that format.
in the registry, i left it blank and it work fine on some site. it just plays the file format that the player is default to.
for exsample:
if i have tcpmp as default to play asx,asf and divx. i will launch and play it and if i have wmplayer as default for just mp3, than it will launch wmplayer and not tcpmp.
i hope some one understands and has a solution, thank you

How do you change the Default Media Player

Hi All,
Can someone please tell me how to edit the registry to change the default Audio player from Windows Media Player to HTC Audio Manager.
More specifically...
I'm using
LVSW_Trinity_WM6_v2.0.1.1 (2007-05-27)
with
Cyberon Voice Commander 2.0
When I use commands like "play music" or "next" I would like the program to use Audio Manager (or any other player that not Windows Media Player).
Also,
With Voice Commander, does the program have to be active to use the voice commands or there a way to use voice commands while voice commander is running in the background?
Use Resco Explorer. Tap and hold the media file in question, from the menu that appears tap 'open' then 'open with...' you will get a list of programs or the option to browse for a program. Select Audio Manager (if it's in the list or browse to it if its not. Check the 'Always use this program to open this file type' box and click done. Voila
Cheers Mate... You're a legend. So simple, no need for registry editing.

if you use a regeditor goto
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT]
look for you extension ie .wmv
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.wmv]
it says in there
(Default) WMVFile
goto
Code:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\WMVFile\Shell\Open\Command]
@="wmplayer.exe \"%1\""
change wmplayer.exe to whatever you use

Strange Problem with HTC TP2
I have an HTC Touch Pro 2 from US Cellular - stock rom - I have only modified a few little things...
Anyway, I recently used File Explorer to change my default media player for MP3 files back to Windows Media Player - and now my phone won't play MP3 ringtones or alets! WAV files still work, but if I select an MP3 as my ringtone, it won't let me play it - and when I close the screen, it reverts back to a default windows ring tone...
This is driving me nuts - and I would prefer not to do a hard reset if at all possible! Please help!
Never mind - I found the issue - in my registry under MP3 file info - it said "MP3-File" - then I compared to WAV - which said only "WAVFile" - so I changed "MP3-File" to "MP3file" - and walla! Fixed
How do i make a media player the default player for microsoft voice commander?

Thanks!

anyone try it yet? anyone know how to get it to play?
currently I have the cingular apps installed (tcpmp and wmp are still on my device) but the realplayer from the cingular apps keeps loading so I assume its an extension associated to realplayer
I'm using the Black rom and it opens up in the Media Steaming app. Works great! Change your file associations within Realplayer so that Realplayer doesn't open .3gp files.

Coreplayer as default media player?

Usually, when I go to mobile video sites, WMP pops up to play any video I so chose to watch, the problem is, more times than not I get an error stating that the video "Cannot play back the file. The format is not supported".
I'm pretty sure Coreplayer wouldn't have any trouble playing whatever file I'd try to watch, so my question(s) is does anyone know how to set it to default (I don't mind regedits) or at least fix the problem happening in Windows?
Thanks in advance.
try to go into preferences of coreplayer and then file assocations and select the formats you wish to be played by coreplayer.
can you post a cab for which version of core player that works on tmo touch pro2. thanks

Network Drive Mapping on Rhodium?

Hey guys i want to know if its possible to map a drive on my network so that i can access the files via Coreplayer to directly watch it.
Has anyone done that before? Possible or not?
Please feel free to answer, infos, tips, anything
Nice evening guys.
it's pretty easy to do locally with a good file browser. I use resco, it's a paid app but it's great. map a drive like you would on a pc with your wireless connected to your local internet, as long as the drive or folder is shared on the host pc it works great. I can watch movies stored on my pc on my tp2.
as long as you have coreplayer set as the default mp3 or whatver player as well.

No, most all media players will have somewhere in their settings the option to set the player as the default handler for different media types (.mp3, .avi, etc). Whichever media player you use, just find those settings and make sure it's set to that for whatever media types you're trying to access over the network. That way, once you navigate to the files in resco file explorer, and click on them, that player should recognize them and open to play them.
To test it just open IE and type your networkpath as URL (\\your-pc\share\mp3) and the phone should open file explorer in the mp3 folder. select a file to play and coreplayer starts. If coreplayer isn't your default player the file will be played with WMP.
This should be usefull
