Has any one know how to find the spare parts for the LCD of my Imate Plz
Hey Broadband, if you wish, and until you find your new touch screen, you still may use your device with full functionality.
Download "Remote Screen Alignment" from http://www.codefactory.es/mobile_speak_pocket/msp_downloads.htm#5
This program will enable you to bypass the align screen even after a hard reset.
Then download fakecursor.exe, which will give you a pointer on the screen. you should assign a hardware key to enable/ disable the fakecursor as it cancels the functions of some hardware keys on your device such as answering/ending phone calls.
I'm using my K-jam with no problems and it's touch screen is broken, no more need for me to search for a new touch screen every few months.
Hope this helps

how can i access the text messages via a usb ink with a pc
you should use MyMobiler. it's free and displays your phone-screen on your pc and sends mouse and keyboard back to your phone!
there are other progs but most not free...
(I used it heavily when my screen cracked :s but after a month I installed a new LCD from ebay)
This tool acts like a screen locker during all call.
From start of dialing until call ended.
It locks only screen and does not turn off the screen.
This one is very useful to see how call going but dont have any troubles about accident screen taps. And every moment you can unlock screen to press something. Hardware buttons does not locked.
Warning
This util hooking touch screen driver.
So you need first install SDKCERTS.CAB from attach
Also, if something will wrong with this hooking, you can return full functionality to touchscreen only by disabling tool touchscreen driver.
You can do it, using PC tool pregutil from XdaUtils.
You need to make ActiveSync connection with phone and then run:
Code:
pregutl.exe -d HKLM\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\TOUCH :DriverName
then SoftReset the phone.
In any case, Hard Reset will restore your phone.
Problems with installing driver make that touch screen will not have any response for taps.
I have using this tool on Polaris,Diamond and Blackstone. I have not any problems.
BUT: you are using this tool at YOUR OWN RISK
Instructions
0. Make a backup of your phone
1. Install SDKCERTS.CAB
2. Install HtcExtFun-0.3.cab from attach
3. Soft reset

Darn was just about to use this and then I read this!
Im on MM rom War.
Any1 have success using this?
I tryed it with Duttys 6.5 rom and i had to hard reset. I to wish it would work.
Had a black screen on boot, watched the thread and finally found that it's not compatible with Energy ROM
Too late
Suddenly my touch screen alignment has gone crazy.
I'm trying to use Remote Screen Alignment but I don't have the calibration data.
Can any one post the calibration data found in the registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\TOUCH
and should read something like this:
"CalibrationData"="1922,1957 3330,639 3317,3276 600,3230 609,677 "
Thanks
no one? I need to that data
If you're touch screen is gone wierd how are you going to input these data? I would suggest you try using free softwares like MyMobiler to control your PocketPC from Desktop, navigate to the Settings page and reach the Screen allignment page to calibrate again instead of trying to get the above data.
Regards,
Carty..
thanks.. i'll try it right away
Cheers

the problem is that I cannot calibrate my touchscrren.....the screen is not broken, but although I can't pass the calibration.....the screen respond incorrectly to taps....i press the start button at top but it opens the contacts which are located at the bottom....that is why I'm asking for calibrationData from other BA users
i just aligned my screen, so the values should be fairly accurate. the exact value of the key <CalibrationData> is:
Code:
503,511_152,244_160,775_862,774_861,255_
replace all _ with spaces, i just used them to make it more obvious, especially that there is one at the very end of the line.

here's what you need i think..i used it before with my broken digitizer and it work..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=218992
just download the file ,msp_remotealignment.zip then run it to your pc..and open it in your program files on your pc.( C / program files / code factory /remote screen alignment ,then follows the instruction from there...
hope it'll work for you...
oh the instruction..i forgot hehehe
1. Download the latest activesync and connect your mda to your computer and verify your device is connected(not as guest)
2. Perform a soft/hard reset on your MDA then tap your screen to start the screen alignment wizard
3. Download the remote screen alignment tool attached and install it on your machine.
4. Download the wiza200.txt file attached and rename it to WIZA200.dat then put it in the C:\Program Files\Code Factory\Remote Screen Alignment directory on your computer
5. Ensure your MDA is connected to your pc(A green activesync Icon usually indicates a connection )
6. Open the remote screen alignment tool on your pc meanwhile your phone be displaying the alignment screen wizard.
7. Click SKIP in the screen alignment tool.
Assuming everything went fine a message box displaying "The operation has been completed successfully. Your device will be restarted." should pop up on your computer and your device should restart. Afterwards your phone will run the files it always does when you do a soft/hard reset then you touch screen should be properly calibrated and work fine.

I've done everything as you said....it just bypassed the calibration screen after hard reset...It can be made much easier by copying WELCOME.NOT to a storage card and hard reset the device....
My problem still remains

I don't think I can resolder it by myself because I don't have the necessary tools....perhaps I will have to go to a service center and repair it or buy a new digitizer from ebay (((((
The history?Everything worked fine until one morning when I realised that there is a problem with touchscreen....Before going to sleep I adjusted my alarm clock and went to sleep...in the mornig when I woke up the touchscreen didn't work properly anymore
+1 on the digitizer replacement. If you already did the calibration by hand, that means that the digitizer is messed up. Alternatively, you could try to play with values since it might only be an off-set (I reach this conclusion after seeing that you have tried Chef's values and the behavior changed). The only problem with this is the fact that it is trial and error
Great work bros longlife & more greant works
It worked perfectly
Sounds like some dust or sand between cover and the digitizer or somehow twisted cover. Try to dismantle and reassemble. In case, one of the screws is loose use super-glew to fix it. Clean or replace the double sided tape that fixes the screen.
My touch screen won't respond to touch or the stylist. This just happened but I am beginning to see some bleed on the screen so I know it's a hardware issue.
Got a new one coming to replace it but here's my problem. My settings are set to automatically lock the screen after a period of time for security reasons and to help prevent pocket calls! Does anyone know a work around with the keyboard to unlock the screen?
Most of the software I loaded is on my PC but whenever I rebuild a phone it's always good to look at what is in the thing via "remove program" option. Needless to say, I can't get there without unlocking the screen.
I tried my magic wand and threatened the phone by telling it I was going to replace it with an iPhone but so far... nothing works.
Thanks,
Rick
The lockscreens are based on touch input. The only option I know of to recover your data is to replace the digitizer.
AFAIK, doing that on Windows Mobile 6.5 Stock is completely impossible. If you can get past the slider screen, you can use the numbers on your TP2 keypad and press enter. But I'm running 6.1 (makes me feel better being used to ye olde Pocket PCs), so I can't verify anything.
