I just purchased a t-mobile sx56 which was supposed to be unlocked. I am in canada and need it for rogers.
It has XDA Special edition ROM ver 1.2 installed and in the bottom rt corner it says 3.17.
When I insert my sim it says Please input unlock code SID:
I have tried to hard reboot and have reinstalled the rom again and it just defaults to autoconfiguration setup where you can choose your country and provider.
I cannot get to a screen where it asks if i want to unlock the phone.
I have also downloded unlock prgs which i installed on the pda and they cannot unlock...something about wireless not being on.
Do I have to connect a serial cable? I ask because I have a laptop which does not have a serial input.
Any thoughts??? Help
1 Million Cudos for anyone who can get ths unlocked for me..

My version of wallaby says 5.22...
Update
OkOk I have tried to cook a rom..no luck it still asks for sid unlock code. I have tried pretty much everything known to man. Mr radio version is 6.25 and I have been told there has been little luck with this radio version
CAN ANYONE UNLOCK MY XDA? Is there finally an issue that cant be solved by all the fine minds on this site????
You have to downgrade your Radio stack to Ver 6.24, then use the utility called XdaUnlock in this Forum, it will be OK
Hi!
Well i'm new in this forum. Thanks to the ones who are viewing this.
This is what happened:
I brought 3 Siemens SX56 from the US. 2 locked to AT&T (windows 2002 installed), one locked to T-mobile (windows 2003 installed).
As the bootloader was originally 5.22 for the three of them, I did the typical unlock supplied by XDA DEVELOPERS (replacing the original flash with the XDADEV flash and running xdaunlock.exe)
That worked fine with both AT&T units which are already unlocked.
However the T-mobile one refuses to give me the unlock codes when i open xdaunlock.exe (error getting unlocked codes)
For what i've been reading, this is most likely because win2003 was installed in this one and i heard it's harder to unlock. But that's just what i heard.
Could anyone help me unlocking it?
I really appreciate!
Thanks!
Nicolas.
Ps: you can contact me to [email protected]
:x hi, thanks for xda unlocking software. i can't seem to unlock me xda II. i have the new XDA 2i.

search this forum for steps on downgrading ur rom to 2002 or even better is to just load the XDA-Developer rom onto it and it'll unlock it. then after that switch back to your original rom
remember to use xda tools to backup ur original rom on ur computer first!
Reply
Thanks a lot for your response
I already did that. I downloaded the roms from the at&t sx56 and loaded from sd card. The reason i did this is because the xda developers rom wouldn't let me run the upgrade with ppc2003 on it (a usb connection error was displayed)
I installed the 2002 ppc software and after that, i upgraded directly via ActiveSync.
Still i could not get the unlock codes (same error: error getting unlock code).
That's why i need help. Thanks!
interesting havent heard that one before.. have you tried downgrading to another t-mobile 2002 rom and then after that installed xdadev rom? or maybe downgrade the bootloader?
hi
i have same problem as nikoleman
i have a T-mobile pocket pc (i think it is WM2003 beta)
Pw10b1
rom version:4.00.16 ENG T-Mobile
with wallably 5.22 bootloader
i downgrade the bootloader to 5.15 and
the rom to 3.17.03 ENG cooked in kitchen
now infrared is not working and still get error getting unlock code
any help plz
yep
in fact that's the only way it would let me do it.
I backuped rom from the at&t ones and writed it to the t mobile. Then upgraded to XDA DEV special edition and it still throws me the "error getting unlock code" error.
Do you know why might this be?
Using the tools for the Wizard (latest aWizard and Lokowiz) I tried to enable the Rapi and to unlock the CID / Super-CID.
It looks like it worked just fine, but when trying to flash with the latest Qtek 9000 ROM, I still get "Country ID error".
Do I need some other tools for Rapi and CID purposes?
Or is it possible to use a Qtek 9100 NBA ROM for overwriting the MDA Pro?
I've also heard that there's no solution in unlocking the MDA Pro yet.
Is this still true?
I am planning on purchasing an MDA Vario on T-Mobile UK, however I need to use it on Vodafone UK.
I want to unlock the phone with least risk of causing any problems, or bricks as I see it more commonly termed as in this forum.
Is there a simple tool which does SIM unlock and nothing more and is it safe ? I was thinking lokiwiz version 0.1 might do that ?
Will all the new MDA Vario come with the G4 chip ? or is luck of the draw.
Please please can someone shed some light.
surely someone has done this, please please help me
I have done a straight unlock and it went fine to qtek 9100 firmware...
But:
Email and other funtions didnt work properly
Phone crashed alot
Finally the back light failed.
So about 10 minutes ago i switched back to the T-Mobile firmware.
Now everything is working perfectly and the new OS looks very nice too.
below24,
straight unlock ? -- what tool did you use to unlock ?
new OS ? -- do u mean the latest offcial T-mobile ROM ?
appreciate your input
Yes the Latest T-Mobile ROM, its from their site.
Well i have to use a piece of sortware found here, to unlock the lock on the phone so i could first flash it and that also unlocked it.
Then immediately debranded it to the Qtek 9100 ROM, which made the Device run slower (than the T-mobile one)
Not sure what it was called though probably the lokiwiz version 0.1, that was the one. Very easy and straight forward...
G4 chip MDA Vario unlocked
Got my vario today locked to T-mobile UK. And yes it was a G4 chip.
IPP/SPL - 2.21.0001
OS - 2.24.2.6
I had no t-mobile SIM so stuck my vodafone SIM in, first asks for my personal SIM password, then it asks for unlock code.
At this point I ran lokiwiz03a, which ran but never gave me unlock code, mentioned something about not being able to copy some file and it might be in use.
So I copied EnableRapi.cab to my phone and ran EnableRapi.cab from File Explorer, that went fine (message about overwrite, said yes)
Then I ran LockiwizMsl.bat from desktop while being connected to ActiveSync and there it was the unlock code.
Entered worked fine.
As regards the ROM upgrade, my main reason was to lose all t-mobile crap, but found an easier way with ZERO risk:
First time ever you startup phone it does inital setup, the last step it beings to do an install, as soon as the install starts pull the battery out, then reboot. (Important to have the battery cover off already)
On reboot you should be able to go into the phone no setup screens this time, also ZERO customizations, yes means you need to do all the GPRS, MMS etc etc setting yourself, but that I am happy to do.
Hope this helps someone.
forgot main thing, used lokiwiz03a, thanks to machinagod.
Good, im glad i could have been of assistance.
good luck in the future with it.
but the pulling out of the battery im not too sure about...
I agree pulling battery out sounds crazy, I remember reading it in a forum, thought it would never work myself, since it was a new phone i could always return in 7 days, so thought what the hell, let me try it out.
Been running one day, and everything works fine, phone is fine, wi-fi working, bluetooth and GPS, so far so good.
Trying some tweak programs now
Loving my MDA, why did i not get one sooner.
Thats what i thought, the Vario is very good, but i still think its a little on the large side and not as fast as it can be... I am really waiting for the tytn.
I have found that the firmware from T-mobile is pretty stable and has a quicker startup than the qtek 9100 firmware. however this may not be the case with everyones mobile, just me!
Could you not just perform a soft reset instead of pulling the battery out?
soft reset - you mean when the install begins ?
really not sure, guess next person can try this out and let us know.
This tool is great, file transfer it to your MDA then just click on it, it will unlock your phone to all networks, I tried it on my MDA Vario with T-mobile for an o2 sim and it works great no issues, I can use GPRS, MMS, Call waiting etc
...yes, soft reset while device installs works (of course I made a full backup with SPB-backup first)...
straight forward unlock mda vario
I receiced this logfile while executing
xdadev_all_unlock started
device=WIZA200
could not find security key for device type WIZA200
xdadev_all_unlock failed
I guess mine is already unlocked, ain't it...

best way to tell is to put different provider sim in there and turn it on.
I have just bought an MDA Compact III (Artemis) with WM5 sold as unlocked. If I can use any SIM card and all nets, can I assume that it is superCID and proceed with WM6 flashing from microSD with any WM6 rom find in this forum?
No if i'm not mistaked simUnlocked and CID unlocked are different.
I had a CIDunlocked device but still needed to use the USLP method to flash my new ROM.
Read the sticky first post and download the required tools form here

Cheers
Thanks for your quick reply. The PDA should be simunlocked and also netunlocked. CID unlocked is not the same as netunlocked?
Nope, it is not. NetLock is T-Mobile's very own name for SIMLock... All their devices come with NetLock now, which means they do not accept SIM cards other than T-Mobile. So if you have a net unlocked device, you can use it with any carrier, but it still may be CID Locked.
Thanks for your help. The PDA works with all SIM cards and al nets.
I will use the USLP method anyway.
hi mate! did you manage to flash your compact III with WM6? i want to upgrade mine as well but not sure what to do?

I've flashed my MDA Compact III successfully. (I've unlocked it previously through IMEIcheck.co.uk)
If your's is unlocked (Netlock, Simlock) than you should be able to flash it right away with 4.1. For the other ROMs I'm not shure, you should maybe run USPL first..
I also flashed my MDA Compact III With German O2 WM 6 ROM, but i also had it unlocked via Imei-check.co.uk, both CID and NETLock were Removed... Again, your Device might be free for any SIM Card, than it is NETunlocked but could still be CID Locked. So i would recommend you to run USPL first, before trying to install any ROM
