Hi, I just want to see if this is a common problem or it's just my memory card. I bought a 16GB card from Newegg to hold all my music and whenever the card is actually in my phone, (Flashed to EnergyROM Geneis), it is SLOW. Lagging everywhere, almost useless and occassionaly after long hours will give me a "emergency low memory" error, and I will have to reset by taking the battery out. When I remove the card, after a few minutes the phone is MUCH faster, it still lags a bit, but definately useable, and it's just very smooth compared to the jaggy and stiff movements when the card is in.
Whats up? Thanks.
naa, i wouldnt say this is normal mate, prob a duff memory card, try another one and see how it goes.... i have noticed a slow-down on mine when i use my storage card to save all my emails , but apart from that, no difference card in / card out.
Come to think of it.... I may be having the same problem.
About a week ago I installed 3 new pieces of software. After a few days I noticed that my phone has been feeling laggy. So 1 by1 I unistalled the software... still the problem persists.
Reading your post made me think... hmm about a week ago I also installed a 4 gb memory card! The card works fine, I can access it, and store stuff on it.
Also, come to think of it. I was making panoramic photos last night and my phone kept freezing after the 2nd photos. And would crash- resetting itself. I had the phone set to save images to the card. Setting it to save them to the phone it stopped crashing... maybe my memory card is too slow. Perhaps, there is a setting in the phone which affects the through put from the phone to the card that can be tweaked. I seam to remember see settings for power saving features for the micro sd card.. Could this be the culprit?
my well-used card made my tp2 quirky so i reformatted fat32 in vista and all is good.
maybe there is so much songs in your card.
or your card speed is slowly.
Ok so i spent my entire day at a car show yesterday, i get home with my phone and new 16gb micro SD and plug into my computer and i keep getting a message that the pictures will not open or cannot be viewed in this format. So now my entire day is lost on this car, but it shows the pics are there.
There is no preview of the photos on my phone or when i plug in, just the blank squares on my computer and a load of microsoft icons on my phone that have nothing.
Any suggestions for getting at these pics? It says they are in jpeg format when i look at their information. So do i just have a bad card and too bad or is there a life saver out there? Ty
My HTC Desire keeps going off everyday. It happens while browsing or during a phone call too. The screen goes blank. The power button also does not work to restart the phone. Then, I have to remove the battery and restart it. Is there any problem or bug? Can I restart the phone in any other way? I read about factory (hard) reset, but I will lose all my settings then. Will hard reset delete my contacts list too?
Also, it frequently shows an SD card error, which goes away if I restart the phone again. I've formatted the card several times.
I don't have too many apps installed and a have 4 GB sd card with about 2 GB of mp3 files only.
Looking forward to your response.
Thanks.
Hello all,
I have a Telus SGS II, updated to carrier's ICS.
I was attempting to take a picture yesterday, and after I took it, the phone went into "think/processing" mode for at least 30 seconds before I pressed the home button, then did a long press on home to end the process. Attempted to re-take the picture, same result. After ending the process again, I decided to restart the phone. After the reboot, I went into the gallery to see if the picture I had just attempted to take was there, and the entire folder was gone. Not empty, GONE. The folder was labeled "Camera". I quickly scanned the other folders to see if they were missing/corrupted, and one other one was missing as well. I have 9 other folders with pictures/videos, all of them are fine.
When I got home, I removed my SD card (all my pictures and music are on there), all folders remaining were fine. The "camera" folder was gone, and the other one that was missing while the card was in my phone was there, but only the folder, not the pictures within it.
I made sure all files, including hidden ones were visible, nothing there. So:
-Has this happened to anyone else?
-Is there a solution?
Nobody?
Am I asking in the wrong forum, or has this just not happened to anyone before?
So I've noticed whenever I plug my note 4 into my computer to transfer my pictures onto my computer, it's very slow. You click DCIM... and have to wait and wait then camera comes up... wait even longer then the pictures in the folder populate super super slow a few at a time. This is not an issue I had with my note 2. I'd plug that in and it would populate 600 pictures in a few seconds.
I'm constantly pulling pictures off of it, changing music around and moving audio books on and off. I don't really feel like taking the card out and putting it in my card reader every time. Like I said, my note 2 never had issues.
So any one else find that it's extremely slow accessing your phones files from your computer?
